Ted attempts once more to poison his icy foe with a venomous toxin -- but Saber, with his eyes closed in a zen-like state, completely sidesteps the attack [ -5PP Ted / -5PP Saberhagen ].

Unsatisfied with the failed result, Ted gives up on poisoning him, and instead focuses on summoning a sandstorm to envelope the arena [ -7PP Ted / Sandstorm activated ]. Saber, meanwhile, attempts to locate his foe amongst the dirt and dust, and successfully slams his right claw into the metal bird's torso [ -12HP, +25% Con Ted / -10PP, -1HP Saberhagen ].

Ted, fighting his confusion, ascends into the air for a few meters before diving downward -- his wings flashing a bright white color. His wings collide with the cunning weasel [ -11HP Saberhagen / -4PP Ted ], but before he can escape, Saber latches onto said wings and slams the iron bird to the ground easily [ -17HP Ted / -8PP, -1HP Saberhagen ].

Saber darts around the arena floor, continuing to get faster and faster as he does so [ +20% Spd, -5PP, -1HP Saberhagen ] while Ted's wings glimmer in the sunlight as he slaps them against the swift weasel [ -11HP Saberhagen / -4PP, +10% Def Ted ].

Saber shrugs off the attack before readying himself for another dynamic punch, but his fist only slams against a protective barrier, errected just seconds before the punch took place [ -10PP, -1HP Saberhagen / -10PP Ted ].

Frustrated, Saber angrily lets loose with a powerful ice beam that connects with the skarmory and knocks him out of the sky [ -9HP Ted / -6PP, -1HP Saberhagen ]. The iron bird pulls himself back together before diving at Saber once more, slapping him with his wing [ -11HP Saberhagen / -4PP Ted ].

Ted climbs into the skies to help ease his confusion [ -3PP Ted ] as Saber conjures a clone using his health as a focus [ -15HP, -5PP Saberhagen / +15HP Substitute ].

Saber then waits for his foe to dive downwards before attacking. The iron eagle caws loudly as he dives downward. Saber unleashes the icy winds, striking Ted point-blank [ -12HP Ted / -9PP Saberhagen ]. Ted takes the hit well before striking the substitute [ -8HP Substitute / -2PP Ted ].

While Ted continues beating on a false entity [ -6HP Substitute / -4PP Ted ], Saber gets him once more with another powerful blizzard [ -12HP Ted / -9PP Saberhagen ].

Round 11
The armored bird conjures up some clones to raise his evasion [ +75% Eva, -6PP Ted ], but immediately loses his concentration on them as Saber screeches a loud screech [ -75% Eva, -20% Def Ted / -3PP Saberhagen ].

Annoyed that his technique was defeated so easily, Ted opts to fire off a villainous volley of stars that overtake the substitution, breaking it once and for all [ -1HP Substitute / -4PP Ted ]. The bird chimes delightfully until he realizes that it was just a clone he destroyed and not the real thing. Said real thing then punches him in the beak, dishing out heavy damage [ -11HP, +25% Con Ted / -8PP Saberhagen ].

Completely vexxed as to what to do next, the skarmory tries to think back at what he was ordered to do. But before he can remember it, he is suddenly blasted by Saber's powerful blizzard attack [ -12HP Ted / -8PP Saberhagen ].

The metal avian loses his eyes and hopes quickly to get some shuteye, but before he can drift away to dreamland, he is pummeled by the swift paws of Saberhagen [ -3HP Ted / -5PP Saberhagen ].

Ted is defeated, and both trainers recall their second pokémon as we enter the third tier of this battle.

Round 14
We enter the third tier of this battle, and Dan chooses Tudor, his roselia. Papa strategically chooses Mawile, a pokémon immune to her toxins. The fiery mawile snaps at Tudor, intimidating her slightly [ -10% Atk Tudor ].

The battle begins with Tudor and Mawile respectively strengthening their own sides -- Tudor with a substitution technique [ -15HP, -5PP Tudor / +15HP Substitute ] and Mawile with a defensive armor [ +20% Def, -5PP Mawile ].

Mawile continues to be blissfully unaware that her opponent has created a double, and instead stockpiles some energy to increase her defenses [ +25% Stk, -5PP Mawile ]. As she does this, Tudor keeps an eye on his foe and copies her defenses justly [ +20% Def, +25% Stk, -8PP Tudor ].

Mawile then tries to seduce her foe with a series of flirtacious glances, but the effect goes completely unnoticed [ -2PP Mawile ]. Tudor, meanwhile, makes the first strike of the battle and it is... completely underwhelming [ -3HP, -10% Acc Mawile / -2PP Tudor ]; he slaps his foe with a clump of dirt like a grimey pimp, but her defenses combined with his weakened resolve make the hit less than stellar.

Round 15
Tudor begins the next round with a soothing whistle. The song travels throughout the arena, but falls upon deaf ears as Maw's protective barrier absorbs it and vanishes [ -3PP Tudor / -5PP Mawile ].

Tudor, annoyed that his spell didn't take, decides to increase his attack prowess greatly by dancing a short dance [ +20% Atk, -5PP Tudor ]. With his senses fueled, he is ready for anything. But the mawile comes in close and slams down her venomous fangs down his substitute [ -2HP Substitute / -3PP Mawile ]. The attack is weak due to Tudor's heightened defenses

Tudor, with his power strengthened, crashes into Mawhile fiercely [ -2HP Mawile / -5PP Tudor ]; again, the attack is weakened by the opposing pokémon's defenses. Mawile then uses an icy tooth to give Tudor some revenge [ -6HP Substitute / -4PP Mawile ].

OK, Tudor, start off with Rain Dance whilst the last of your sub takes the hit, then when it comes round to bite you, spit a Toxic into it's open mouth. Then weaken things even more with a Water Sport.

Secret Power does have a side effect, but only 30 percent of the time. Unfortunately for Tudor, you didn't roll between 1 and 30 either time the attack was used. :/

Round 16
A sudden downpour strikes the arena, leaving both pokémon wet [ -7PP Tudor / Rain Dance activated ] as Maw whips a fire chain around Tudor's double, destroying it easily [ -7HP Substitute / -7PP Mawile ].

Mawile, annoyed with the water droplets, snaps down harshly with a fiery fang [ -3HP Tudor / -4PP Mawile ]. Tudor attempts to retalliate with a batch of venom, but they merely slap against Maw's iron armor, causing no harm whatsoever [ -5PP Tudor ].

Tudor, embarressed by that misstep, starts taking the water around her and creates a protective barrier using it [ +50% FirDef, -3PP Tudor ] just as Maw slips another flamethrower his way [ -4HP Tudor / -7PP Mawile ].

Maw focuses on her opponent and begins tracing every stat change that he's gone through and absorbs it [ +10% Acc, +10% Atk, +50% FirDef, -7PP Mawile ] as Tudor sheds a soothing scent that makes her much, much slower [ -10% Eva Mawile / -3PP Tudor ].

Maw doesn't pay any attention to her slowed state, but fires off an ice beam that slams harshly into Tudor's side, doing heavy damage [ -13HP Tudor / -7PP Mawile ]. Tudor takes the hit before whistling a glorious hymn that puts his foe to sleep [ +100% Slp Mawile / -3PP Tudor ].

With his foe aslumber [ +10PP Mawile ], Tudor enters his dreamstate and gives him a nasty nightmare that haunts him amazingly [ -10HP Mawile / -8PP Roselia ].

Maw is frightened, trapped in a nightmare, but the only thing she can think of doing is seducing Tudor, and she manages to do so impressingly [ +25% Atr Tudor / -10HP Mawile ], but eventually the nightmare rocks her away from her sleep entirely! Tudor, frustrated that his foe is awake (and that she's lovely), wrestles with his emotions and instead entangles her with a series of seeds [ +3% Lch Mawile / -5PP Tudor ].

Maw, in a cold sweat, chomps away at the seeds, destroying them completely [ -3% Lch, -3PP Mawile ] as Tudor flings a wild shadow ball at her [ -5HP Mawile / -6PP Tudor ].

The mawile retalliates with an ice beam [ -14HP Tudor / -7PP Mawile ] as Tudor hits her with another shadow ball [ -5HP Mawile / -6PP Tudor ].

Mawile gets ready to attack with a fierce set of ice techniques, but puts that plan on hold when he hears Tudor's soothing song. Quickly, she puts up a protective barrier to keep the song from effecting her [ -2PP Tudor / -5PP Mawile ].

But the song persists, and Maw struggles to maintain her protective shield [ -2PP Tudor / -5PP Mawile ], until eventually, Tudor's song overwhelms her and she is put to sleep [ -2PP Tudor / +100% Slp Mawile ].
