Evolution Rumble #2 - UC vs Darth Cookiemonster! (Ref needed)

[Ultimate Charizard]

In an Effort to upgrade a few members of my team im offering a big one! 6v6, 2 at a time, hosted in my own E4 arena but not under the rules of the Elite 4. The only stipulations are that only pokemon that need Battle Experience are useable. No Non-evolvers, no final evolutions.

You send out first, i attack first. Banned moves include Substitute, OHKO's and all non damaging Heals.

And as for the Arena....*rolls dice* ..its a 4! The Fire Arena!

Fire - A Rock based Volcanic floor with small streams of Lava running across it. Digging underground is banned and ground attacks like Earthquake run the risk of exposing the lava beneath the user of the move and hurting them back.

Ill lead off with Axew (m-Mold Breaker) and Zubat (m-Inner Focus)

Axew go with Poison Jab and Dragon Claw against Bagon then end with another Dragon Claw at Torchic.

Zubat, your going to go for the status. Confuse Ray at Torchic and after Axew's Dragon Claw at Bagon, use Hypnosis on Bagon. End with a Sludgebomb at Torchic.

Alright Zubat is gonna throw a Confuse Ray at you, so I want you to consume the ray with a widespread Flamethrower. Toruk Maktow, while he is doing this, Axew is gonna come at you with Posion Jab. Wait till its close then blast it back with Dragon Pulse.

Toruk, Axew is again coming in hot with Dragon Claw, but Zubat is trying to put the Sleep on you. Just do yourself a favor and lock your eyes on Axew, and dont look at Zubat. When its close with Dragon Claw blast it away again with Dragon Pulse. Zuko use Rock Slide on Zubat, to disrupt Hypnosis.

Both of you use Status moves. Toruk use Toxic on Axew, and Zuko use Will - O - Wisp on Zubat.

Welcome, ladies and gents! Here, within the blistering caldera of a mighty volcano, we find ourselves prepping for a match between Ultimate Charizard and Darth CookieMonster. The challengers exchange fiery stares (lol, geddit?) as they pluck two Pokeballs apiece from their belts. Then, with repeated flashes of red light, four Pokemon take to the field. On UC’s side, we have a squat little Dragon thinger and a shrieking bat. DCM, on the other hand, calls another squat Dragon thinger and a cheepy little Torchic into battle. Who will win? Who will lose? Will I regret not applying only minimal quantities of deoderant today? All these questions and more will be answered as we begin our epic battle!

The Pokemon quickly pair off as the match begins, with Axew squaring off against Toruk while Zubat takes on Zuko. Axew marches toward his Bagon nemesis with Poison dripping from his claws. Toruk, however, waits for the last second before interrupting the attack with a wicked indigo energy pulse. Axew stumbles, caught off-guard by the attack, and is rendered useless for the time being.

Zubat, meanwhile, cleverly keeps his distance from Zuko by fluttering about far above the little bird. Nonetheless, Zuko keeps his eye on his foe and bides his time, waiting for a strike he can preempt. It soon comes: Zubat opens his mouth and releases a pulsating flash of light at the fiery farm bird. As the Confuse Ray whizzes downward toward Zuko, the Torchic reacts by breathing out a gout of crackling flames. The Flamethrower and the Confuse Ray pass through one another, though neither seems interrupted or weakened whatsoever. As a result, Zubat is knocked out of the sky as Zuko’s world goes topsy-turvy.

Suddenly, Zubat interrupts the tidy pairings the Pokemon have established for themselves by getting airborne once again and flying off toward Toruk. However, the Bagon patently ignores this distraction and keeps himself focused on Axew. Irked that his Poison Jab was rendered nonexistent, Axew ploughs toward Toruk with added gusto. Toruk tries to stop his foe once more with another Dragon Pulse, but Axew merely takes the attack to the gut and forces himself forward. Once he’s in range, he lashes out with a powerful Dragon Claw. Suck it, Toruk!

As Toruk pulls himself up, Zubat swings in and tries for a Hypnosis. Toruk keeps his gaze focused on Axew, but Zubat won’t take no for an answer and flutters right in front of Axew. As Toruk feels the Hypnosis kicking in, Zuko realizes he needs to leap into action and save his foe from sleepy times. However, the Torchic decides he would much rather start clawing at his own face. Good luck with that.

There’s nothing Toruk can do. Just like that, he falls asleep.

While Toruk sleeps, Axew and Zubat decide to set their sights on Zuko. The little Torchic gulps. Suddenly, they lash out with both a powerful Dragon Claw and a mighty explosion of poisonous gunk. Torchic lets out a few rapid, pained cheeps as the attacks make contact but refuses to be overwhelmed: he spits out a little guttering flame that wafts toward Zubat and leaves a rather nasty Burn on the flyer’s wing. Torchic sticks out his tongue. That’s for the Confuse Ray, jerk!

The Burn sizzles, but Zubat does his best to wince through the pain <-3 HP>.

Toruk: Sleep Talk - Snore - Sleep Talk (If you wake up at any time use Dragon Pulse on Axew the remainder of the round)

Zuko try your bes to get out of that Confusion. Use Sunny Day. Then Heat Wave on both and Fire Blast on Zubat. Switch your move to Counter if they try to get up close and personal with a physical attack, and If they do anything to wreck your Sun, then switch your attack to Rock Slide twice on Zubat.

Zubat, get that Torchic to sleep next then we start the punishment. Toxic on Torchic and follow it up with a venoshock.

Axew, same Plan, different target. Toxic on Bagon and follow with a pair of Dragon Pulses of your own.

As the next round begins, Axew takes no pity on his slumbering Dragon counterpart. He hacks up some nasty goo from his belly and spits it at poor, helpless Torok. Suddenly, Toruk squirms in his sleep and he begins whimpering. Meanwhile, while Zubat decides to make this slumber party extra fun by Hypnotizing Zuko. The Torchic makes eye contact with his airborne foe and, just as his Confusion begins to lift, he is gently lulled into a deep sleep. Zuko curls up right next to Toruk. Out like a light.

Suddenly, Toruk erupts with an obnoxious Snore. Axew and Zubat are both blown backwards.

With both opponents asleep, this is starting to look like a cakewalk for Axew and Zubat. Axew clobbers poor Toruk with a bright pulse of indigo energy while Zubat, on the other hand, spits out a nice dollop of purplish poisonous goo at Zuko not unlike that which struck Toruk mere moments prior. Still asleep, Zuko begins to frown and thrash about.

Toruk suddenly begins gibbering in his sleep. All of a sudden, he throws himself toward Zubat with a powerful Double-Edge strike. Fortunately, his Rock-hard Head prevents him from suffering recoil. Yay!

Axew torments Toruk with yet another energy blast while Zubat, on the other hand, torments poor Zuko with a mighty Venoshock. Because Zuko is already suffering from poison, the attack deals a little extra pain and misery for the wee slumbering Torchic.

Suddenly, Zuko bounces up. Awake at last! Smarting from those Dragon Pulses he received while asleep, he retaliates with one reserved especially for Axew. The little Dragon tumbles backward from the attack’s sheer power.

Axew and Zubat peer at one another as the next round begins and nod confidently in unison. Time to deliver a world of pain! They peer at Toruk and strike in unison, delivering a powerful slash alongside a poisonous strike. However, Toruk successful throws up a purplish energy shield. The attacks rebound uselessly.

Suddenly, still asleep, Zuko turns toward Zubat with closed eyes and begins to babble. Suddenly, he starts to Overheat and unleashes this sudden surge of heat and flames toward the Bat Pokemon. He gets engulfed and starts flailing around uncontrollably in the air, trying to put out the fire.

Zubat: <-16 HP; -8 EP>

Zuko: <-12 EP; -2 SpA; Zzz>
Toruk: <-8 EP>

Once Zubat successfully stops, drops and rolls the flames away, he goes for another Venoshock at the same time Axew swings his draconic claws at Toruk. However, the Bagon merely throws up another energy shield. However, as the attacks collide, a thousand tiny cracks materialize all over the Protect. However, it holds strong. For now.

Zuko now hops up, awake. Yay! He commands a series of mighty rocks to fall as if from nowhere and smother Zubat, pinning him under their impressive weight. What is a poor Zubat to do?

Though they haven’t had any luck so far with their battering ram tactic, Axew and Zubat don’t seem like the kind to give up easily. Together, they issue their attacks again and this time achieve success. Though Toruk erects another withered and cracked Protect, the attacks effortlessly smash through the shield and strike the Bagon. He lets out a pained shout as the damage toll rises.

Not exactly thrilled with the idea of watching his partner suffer, Zuko springs into action with another Rock Slide. Once more, the rocks buffet poor Zubat mercilessly. Poor guy.

Toruk, use Draco Meteor/Draco Meteor/Outrage! All on Axew.

Zuko use Rock Slide on Zubat three times.

Zuko if either of the opponents come at you with a physical attack, Counter it.
Toruk if Axew tries to come close blast it away with Dragon Pulse.
If Zubat tries Hypnosis, close your eyes and copntinue to attack.

We cannot lose.

Ok...so many subs....um....*thinks*

Lets try and use those subs against him. Pulse is better than Meteor so dash in close and use Double Team when he blasts a Dragon Pulse at you. Then use a Dragon Pulse of your own then take that last Dragon Pulse and use Draco Meteor of your own.

Zubat, your going to fight at range too with a ConfuseRay to start and a pair of Shadowballs.

With neither team rocking a significant lead, this is still anybody’s match. Toruk knows this and decides to go for broke with a devastating Draco Meteor; however, when Axew starts charging, he immediately decides to change his course of action. He spits out an indigo pulse of draconic energy instead, but Axew decides to betters his odds of evasion by throwing in a few more targets into the mix. Say, three? That all look identical to him? Yeah, sounds about right. The Dragon Pulse rips through one of the clones, sending it to wherever clones go to die.

Zubat, meanwhile, decides crowds are fun and flies close as well, unleashing a pulsating Confuse Ray at Toruk. Suddenly, the poor Bagon can’t tell up from down. Zuko caps off the round by sending an onslaught of rocks Zubat’s way, pinning him beneath their weight.

Toruk: <-7 EP; Con>

Toruk, whose brain is now a little addled with that confusion, isn’t quite sure if that’s a Dragon Claw flying his way or an ice cream truck. Either way, it smokes him with tremendous force and knocks him onto his bottom. However, just when he thinks he has enough strength to power through it, a Shadow Ball care of Zubat finishes him off.

Zuko <-5 HP> and Zubat <-2 HP> are then forced to suffer the effects of their statuses a little prematurely. However, neither status is as powerful due to the shortened round.

Zubat you've done well but it looks like your starting to tire. If you can though get one last Toxic off at this new Horsea thats joined in and if you have anything left use a pair of Giga Drains on it too.

Axew time to deal with Torchic. Rock Tomb it to start with then follow with Dragon Claw and finally a Dragon Pulse.

Zuko Rock Slide Zubat quickly si it doesnt get the chance to throw Toxic goo at your buddy. Counter Dragon Claw and then Mirror Move the Dragon Pulse.

Hippo if the Zubat manages to launch that Toxic, then catch it with a Twister and send it off flying somewhere. Use Dragon Pulse on Axew twice after that.

Now that Toruk is out of the game, DCM has to release a Pokemon to take the fallen Bagon’s position. He wastes no time, sending out a petite blue seahorse upon the rocky volcanic floor. As the round begins, Axew sets his sights on Zuko and summons a perilous skid of rocks to slam down upon the Torchic, entombing him. Zubat, meanwhile, spits out a nice glob of Toxic goo at Hippocampus; however, the Horsea is ready with a sudden Twister. The gust of air she spews out of her blowhole spirals with such intensity that it sucks the poisonous substance right into its vortex before traveling with it fifteen feet and depositing it on the ground.

Suddenly, Zuko wriggles free from his confines. He commands an abrupt Rock Slide to slam down upon Zubat, flattening him one last time. Done.

Hippo use Rain Dance first off. The Dragon Pulse on Axew. Then Surf.

Zuko start off with Dig. Then finish with protect so u dont get freindly fire damage from surf.

Zuko Counter Physical attacks. If they make it so you dont use Protect and try to get you to get hit by Surf, dont do it. Use Protect last no matter what.

If any Statuses come your way, use Agility to dodge them.

Axew, since Dig is banned here lets show this trainer the punishment for not reading the rules of my Gym . Draco Meteor x2 at Torchic and end by Protecting yourself from that Surf too.

As the next round begins, UC summons a slithering, Levitating eel to replace his fallen Zubat. All of a sudden, Hippocampus turns her head skyward and lets out a sudden wail. Without warning, the clouds roll in and obscure the sky as raindrops begin to riddle the field and increase Hippocampus’s speed. They sizzle as they strike the hot volcanic floor, causing puffs of steam to saturate the air around us. Poor Axew watches as his clones get obliterated by the falling rain and grimaces. He sets his sights on Zuko and summons a mighty rock to descend from the sky and slam itself upon Zuko, absolutely annihilating the Torchic… or so it would seem? The wee little farm bird eventually wriggles free from beneath the rock and stumbles around, momentarily dazed. While Eelektrik fries Hippocampus with a heavy dose of electric current, Zuko starts scratching at the rocky ground as though attempting to burrow. I give my reffing whistle three sharp blows. Hey, buddy! Mind the rules!

A sudden corona of orange light ignites around Zuko, increasing his strength.

Once again, Axew and Eelektrik keep going hard with powerful Dragon and Electric moves respectively. Zuko is crushed beneath a meteorite while Hippocampus, on the other hand, is all but reduced to a handful of ash thanks to that sizzling Thunder. Static materializes around the Horsea as she finds herself afflicted by a sudden bout of Paralysis. She grimaces. Gee, thanks, a-hole! Instead of getting vengeance against her oppressor, she strikes Axew with a powerful pulse of Dragon-type energy.

Zuko just sits there, lookin’ pretty.

Zuko: <-14 HP>
Hippocampus: <-20 HP; -7 EP; Par>

The rain continues to hammer the earth as, bizarrely, Axew and Zuko throw up sudden energy shields as a Protective measure. However, their precautions are in vain as Hippocampus finds her body locking up thanks to that pesky Paralysis. As a result, the only action this round comes in the form of Eelektrik’s third Thunderous strike that fries up Horsea. Mmm, what’s that delicious aroma? Is someone cooking seafood?

Hippocampus: <-20 HP; Can’t move!>

Zuko’s Toxic reaches new, excruciating levels of power <-11 HP>. However, by some miraculous happenstance, he isn’t quite knocked out of the battle.

Well since you will probably trigger another cap if you hammer it with nothing but Thunder's again lets get tactical.

Eelektrik, Thunderbolt x2 at Horsea and end by using Coil.

Axew lets use something that almost never gets used in ASB. Scratch!. Use it untill Torchic falls and when it does use Hone Claws for as many actions as you have left.

Zuko before your ended, spit Toxic out at Ele. If you somehow still alive, after throw a Bounce in there, on Ele.

Hippo, use Dragon Pulse until either Axew is down or you have no more actions left. If you have any more actions, use Outrage on Ele.

As poor Zuko circles the drain, Hippocampus tries to do something to help out her ally… but, alas, Paralysis renders her immobile. As well, Zuko’s less-than-stellar Speed keeps him from attacking in time as Axew and Eelektrik issues their moves in chorus: a pitiful Scratch for Zuko and a sparkling Thunderbolt for Hippocampus. The Horsea lets out a wail as Zuko simply collapses in defeat.

The next round begins as DCM replaces Zuko with a new Pokemon, this time a bug-like critter I have reffed on many an occasion. As rain continues to pound the field, the newbie sets his sights on Eelektrik and lashes out with a sudden concentrated burst of Earth-type energy. However, with such airborne mobility, Eelektrik has no problem slithering out of harm’s way. Hippocampus, meanwhile, continues attacking Axew with more Dragon Pulsey goodness. The shimmering indigo energy attack hits Axew hard in the gut, but he still manages to spring forth and slice into Hiyru with a Dragon-type attack of his own. Finally, Eelektrik closes out the action with a powerful Thunder aimed right at Hippocampus. The move sizzles unpleasantly.

Suddenly, Hippocampus finds herself in a spot of bad luck as Paralysis rears its ugly head and impedes her ability to move whatsoever. Stiff like a statue, Hippocampus can only watch as Hiyru fires off a second failed Earth Power at Eelektrik who coils out of the path of the attack once more. Axew tears into the Vibrava with a second Dragon Claw while Eelektrik continues his Electric barrage on his poor, immobilized opponent. Don’t this sad little Horsea eyes elicit any remorse, Eelektrik? Any at all?

Hippocampus: <-17 HP; Can’t move!>

No longer victimized by stupid static energy, Hippocampus keeps Dragon Pulsing Axew while Hiyru stubbornly Earth Powers Eelektrik again. However, his attempt this time is lucky… kind of. Eelektrik, while trying to slither out of the path of the Earth Power, somehow coils himself into a knot! Thus, the attack manages to graze against him, dealing much less damage than it would have otherwise. Axew continues with another Dragon Claw while Eelektrik unknots himself and continues to barrage Hippocampus with more electricity than any lifeform should be able withstand. And still, the rain continues to pour.
