Saur stayed slumbering. Could you blame him? Veggies had nothing on him right now. Veggies knew this as well, and merely decided to heal up all that health it lost. There was no snore as well, since Saur seemed to be suppressed by some crackling force.

Veggie stares at the sleeping Saur for a moment, before deeming it safe to fire off a Sludge Bomb. The contact of the blow seems to force the beast to stir...but instead, a hefty Snore comes ripping out. Veggie is thrown back just enough to balance on the edge of the lake.

Veggie hissed, and jumped back, annoyed by the fact that these Sludge bombs weren't working right! Another one collides with Saur, and Saur finally opens his eyes. Instead of retaliating, he just sits still.

These plants were giving a hell of a survival battle. But only one may move on to the next stage. Saur demanded it be him, as a massive outpouring of light fell into its flower. Veggie made sure his Ingrain vine was tight, and spat up a new Sludge Bomb for Saur to deal with

He did, in a most brilliant manner. A Hyper Beam came shooting out from that plant, decimating that Bomb before it got close and hammering Veggie with all its might. Veggie was forced into being a potted plant by the time it was over.

With that kind of energy blast, Saur knew it had to take aback seat. Great timing, its muscles already thought that plan out. Paralysis took over, but Saur just stared at Veggie with blank eyes. He remembered when he was that small and energetic. Just a wee lad running around his trainer...

Saur's vision is corrupted by another Sludge Bomb. Snapping out of his reminisince, a vine shoots out to wipe the gunk away, and to stare the Bulbasaur down. Veggie smirks. Yeah that hit hurt, but its nothing to him! Nothing! Ahh the virility of youth.

Veggie huffed and puffed and raised his vine in indignation as Saur constricted his small body. Having tired of this nuisance trying to upstart him, Saur beat Veggie into the ground with one hefty Slam. All the while Veggie kept whipping his vine against Saur's multitude of them, sharpening his focus. I'm not sure why though..

Saur raised Veggie again, and Slammed him into the earth, but Veggie landed on his feet. Running wasn't a strong suit for Bulbasaurs, but they did it better than Venusaurs! Veggie ran right back to his nemesis and Body Slammed him in the FACE!

Saur staggers back. That blow was pretty powerful. Not to mention it caused his body to seize up. Saur grinned at his newfound prowess, and went to try another. Even though he seemed healthy, Veggie was not fooling this ref. That last Body Slam took as much out of him as it did Saur.

Veggie lied there, panting. He knew he still had a slew of health, but against Saur here, there seemed to be nothing that could stop him! Big red pleading eyes looked up to the master of plants, ads Veggie silently asked for mercy. In a strange sense, he got his wish, as a less than stellar Hyper Beam came down over his head. It was nowhere near as powerful as it should have been.

In the interest of wtf was that, we're gonna point out that they both sit here a moment....

...before continuing. Saur still sits there pensively, realizing he's pretty exhausted as well. but Veggie goes for broke, raising his prowess just a LIL bit more.

Veggie and Saur try to resolve this match with their own girth. As Saur wraps up the tinier plant pokemon, Veggie whips the vies rhythmically. Yeah, the Slam hurts, but his own skills are honed and perfected. This big lummox was gonna get it now.

Veggie takes a moment to breath, even though his body is repeatedly slammed against the ground by this larger Venusaur. He can't take much more of this, but neither can Venu.

Saur pushes through this round with a final Slam, and Veggie finally breaks free of those weakening vines. In one full rush, Veggie runs and collides with Saur. Saur reels back, actually rearing up on his hind legs from the force of the blow.

Veggie gleans with excitement. Mainly because he dives at Saur with the fury of a freight train. Saur grunts from the massive blow, and feels his body lock up all over! Not now! Not now!! He stares at the resourceful Veggie, and tries to think this through.

Veggie stares at Slam, and relaxes a bit. Saur was no threat...at least, that's what it seemed like. Knowing this was a risky move, Saur whips left and right and two more Venusaurs enter the fray. Veggie takes a tentative trot backwards, this was not what he needed to happen.

Ve: +6E ~~ Sa: -3E +2 cl.

Switching tactics, Veggie now flings a series of leaves outward. They rip through the Garden and cut through the clones, as well as strike Saur. Saur grunts, but falls prey to paralysis once again. Saur pants, but muscles up for one last go at finishing off this annoying mini-him.

Saur knows this is cutting it far too close. He shifts his body weight, and barely pulls off a slew of clones. But the garden is against him, and leaves fly out in every direction! Veggie smirks, this seems way too easy. At this rate, he'll never evolve into being a fatass

Salm huffs, and sits down. Nope. He's not moving. Not even as his body is slammed into. Man those hits were probably setting off his paralysis too. Not a good look.

Saur chillaxed again, only to be rocked once more by the smaller Pokemon. This time, something shifted, and his body quivered uncontrollably.

The little Bulbasaur managed to knock him OUT! Hooooly crap!

Audibly pissed, Ayeun stamps her foot on the terra. A set of large red petals starts to rise out of the ground, and Oslo witnesses the next Pokemon to join the fray. Spying the low lying plant, he counters with a taller Pokemon, one with alot of girth behind it. Polkaroo pounds her chest and stares down the spinning Raffelisa.

The plant tries to capture 'roo's attention, but finds itself stuck in place. Roo smirks, having the upper hand in Disabling this plant.

Having the ability to move was such a great ability! When free from that disabling net, Raff quickly went on the offensive, whistling through her top. The grasses responded in this weather awfully fast, wrapping around Roo's legs. Roo fell to her knees, but that gave her perfect position for a nasty Fire Blast. Raff's eyes opened wide before being engulfed by fire, but a burn was staved by the falling waters of the sprinkler system!

As the water's fall, Raff continues the tight bind on Roo. Roo however, does not fight against the pain. Rather, she uses it, and switches tactics. With all this water, its much easier to gather its chilling energy and create a hyper blast of Cold to wash over the plan. Raf is stuck dealing with a nasty Blizzard that rips at her sides.

Its a First to 5 wins, meaning that it can go for 9+ pokemon. As is stated in the rules of the gym, DRAWS DO NOT COUNT. And since Oslo is only at 4 wins so far, This battle is FAR from over.

Effect Spore
Contact may paralyze, poison, or cause sleep.
The Pokémon's body gives off puffs of bizarre toxic spores that can adversely affect opponents when inhaled. The nature and effects of these spores can vary wildly, from making the opponent sick to sending it to sleep. When the Effect Spore Pokémon is hit with a direct contact attack there is a 30% chance that its attacker will be paralyzed, poisoned or sent to sleep; each status ailment has an equal chance of occurring.

I thought it worked both ways, when i touched them aswell... And I figured that Grass knot, being physical, would require me to touch my opponent...

Nah, some abilities like Effect Spore require you to get touched for the ability to activate and others require you to touch your opponent. For example, Poison Point can only activate when the opponent touches you. Poison Touch, on the other hand, can only activate when you touch the opponent. Effect Spore falls into the same category as Poison Point.

Also, Grass Knot isn't physical so it's kind of moot anyway.

Raffelsia doesn't seem too disenchanted though. Water is always welcome in her neck of the woods. As she watches Polkaroo and her joey create a fine and dandy Substitute from the dirt in the garden, she gets to work creating her own. Polkaroo's Sub is more finely crafted, as one can tell from the amount of energy she puts into teaching her youth about how to create it.

Attention swiveled back to the battle, and Polkaroo pats her baby, and points at Raffelsia before laughing. I don't know, that might be some weird mom swagger...but I'm pretty sure that's not gonna work. Could also be due to the Substitute. Raff shrugs and starts her own attack, the Substitute starting to crumple from the outside. A good portion of it falls away...but no benefit for Raff.

Po: -3E Sub: 13/25 ~~ Ra: -7E

Raff tries again, and the Substitute falters to little more than a pile of rubble...but its a pile of rubble, and not dust blowing in the wind. That's gonna bother Raff later. In hindsight, it might have been better to just bash the Sub with something powerful, like Polka does to Raff's with a single Ice Beam. The force of the Beam shatters the Sub instantly.

Raff doesn't quit. resolving to put down this kangaroo with a well aimed Giga drain. The tendrils rise up and wrap around the foe, before twisting and wrapping and breaking her to smithereens. Crap, it was that Substitute.

An Ice beam blindsides Raff, leaving her with a sneaking suspicion.

Po: -8E Sub: Boom ~~ Ra: -7E/-16H

That sneaking suspicion was right, as a second Ice Beam struck her and left her spinning. The cold was piling up and making her really sluggish, so Raff tried her best to counter all of this by using the grasses to pin down the kangaroo. Roo roared as the grasses held her in place for the moment.

Tearing free of the blades of grass wasn't in her best interest right now though, as Polka just rolled her head back and forth. A slew of stars began to form around her body, but it was also accompanied by a draining of sorts from Raff. Finally, she was able to get some health back!
