    CUEBALL'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Woods
A dense forest where a thick fog lingers. There are Grass and Bug types everywhere you turn. Look up and you'll find Flying types are enjoying the highest reaches of the trees.

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

You hurry after the orange blur, though it might be too late. Your quick pace takes you past a cluster of Nincadas as you burst out into a clearing with no sign of your target. Peering about, you see nothing but a swarm of Pidgeys led by a single Pidgeotto overhead.

Just when you give up hope, you see something within the bushes. It appears orangeish and gazes at you with large, grey eyes.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach the Nincadas
    > Follow the Pidgeys
    > Approach the Pokemon in the bush cautiously
    > Attack the Pokemon in the bush aggressively
    > Keep going

Vulpix ultimately decides to remain in the bushes. This little one appears slow to trust.

You walk away and explore the clearing. A few Seedots have gathered near a rotting log while a Spinarak watches from afar. Up above, six Natus let out their musical call as they fly above the forest.

You can also hear the distinct noise of running water.

    CUEBALL'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Round 6 ‡

After several minutes of trekking, you come across a trickling stream. You follow the stream until it leads you to a small lake within the woods. Here, you see numerous Water-type Pokemon frolicking in the shallows, including a couple of Poliwags and a Buizel.

You see a pile of sticks and some vines at the edge of the lake and consider improvising a fishing rod.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 8 ‡

You try to calm Buizel down, but your words don't seem to do the trick. Without provocation, the Sea Weasel Pokemon douses Bruiser with a sudden Water Gun.

    Bad move, bud.

Bruiser gets in close with a crackling ThunderPunch. He immediately tries for a second, but Buizel dodges with a crafty Agility. This isn't his first rodeo, apparently. Buizel then successfully lashes out with an Aqua Tail only to find himself once again at the receiving end of Bruiser's crackling fist.

    ‡ Round 9 ‡

Buizel begins whipping up a miniature windstorm while Bruiser does a spin on the spot, creating three clones. Once he's finished charging, the Sea Weasel Pokemon lets loose with a Razor Wind, but it merely takes out a clone.

Bruiser and his remaining clones sprint forward through the shallow water and clobber Buizel with a crackling ThunderPunch. The electric current runs through Bruizel, who decides to follow suit: he performs a Double Team of his own, armouring himself with three Bruizel clones. Bruiser goes for a Low Sweep, but alas, he merely knocks out one of the orange doppelgangers. The others bark with laughter.

    ‡ Round 10 ‡

The six competitors stare one another down before Buizel unleashes a frigid beam of icy energy. The attack merely rips through a Machop clone, however, and leaves Bruiser free to use Foresight. Red beams sweep across the field and pass over each of the three Buizels, causing two to flicker out of existence. Buizel stares around, shocked. He's evidently never seen that trick before.

Buizel then goes for another icy attack, though this one is of a larger scope. His Blizzard swirls through the air and assaults Bruiser and his remaining clone with ice and snow, causing damage while obliterating the illusory Fighting-type. Bruiser retaliates with another ThunderPunch, though this one carries an added treat. Static runs throughout Buizel's body, rendering him immobile for the time being. Looks like somebody has been Paralyzed.

Bruiser caps things off by Double Teaming once again.

Poor Buizel finds himself on the receiving end of a Paralysis lock-up while Bruiser goes for for yet another sizzling ThunderPunch. How much more can this poor Water-type take? He tries to keep hope alive with yet another Aqua Tail, but it sails uselessly through a clone.

The next ThunderPunch is just as punishing as the last, but luck finally kicks in for Buizel. He fires off a concentrated Water Pulse which successfully connects with the real Bruiser, causing the Machop clones to vanish. A little wet, Bruiser still manages to pull off a third electrical attack.

Buizel isn't going to be able to take a whole lot more of this.

The Maidens speak highly of you, Trainer. Take my words attentively.

I wish to judge you for myself: to gaze upon your heart, its darkest chambers, and to weigh that against what goodness you possess. Your virtue will come down to an issue of sacrifice, but not sacrifice of the self. Heavier choices and greater burdens linger ahead.

I warn you. I wield limitless power over Time itself, but I cannot guarantee safety—that of yourself or anyone else. You must not shoulder this lightly.

    You agree to Celebi's test.

Suddenly, all goes white. The clearing is gone but the mist remains, smothering you and your surroundings. You cannot even see your Pokemon.

Understand that Time is not a river. It is not linear; it does not flow in one direction.

Understand that Time is a pond. It is fluid. The Past and Present swirl infinitely within one another, perhaps even paradoxically to the human mind.

When the mist dissipates, you find yourself in the clearing once more. You look upon the trees before you and see that they have grown much taller than before. However, upon turning around, you see only a sea of stumps that mark the logging of innumerable trees.

At your feet where three Pokemon stood mere moments prior you see three Pokemon eggs.

Look past these paradoxes and remember, Trainer, that I am the Forest Guardian.

It's not save to leave eggs like this laying around. We can explore when they are safe.

    CUEBALL'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    Acquisitions

    Available

    ‡ Round 13 ‡

Buizel is promptly teleported to the Safari Zone front desk. Feeling thrilled by your first capture, you peer around. The Poliwags from before are gone and have instead been replaced by a pair of Lotads who have floated in from the center of the lake. They bask beneath the sun lazily.

You peer back at the sticks and vines at the water's edge. Fishing is still an option.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach the Lotads
    > Go fishing
    > Take a swim
    > Return to the woods

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Acquisitions

    Available

    AYEUN'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Woods
A dense forest where a thick fog lingers. There are Grass and Bug types everywhere you turn. Look up and you'll find Flying types are enjoying the highest reaches of the trees.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    Acquisitions

    Available

    ‡ Round 196 ‡

You pick up the three eggs and hold them tight to your body.

In the distance, you hear the sudden roar of machinery. You aren't sure what this means.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach the sound of the machines
    > Flee from the sound of the machines
    > Continue to care for the eggs

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Acquisitions

Bruiser relaxes in the shallows while you improvise a fishing rod. It's a little ramshackle, but it ought to do the trick. You even cleverly bait it with a few worms.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 197 ‡

Despite the inherent dangers, you hold the Pokemon eggs tight to your chest and approach the roaring machines. You come to the forest's edge and peer around the trunk of a venerable maple. You see bulldozers and numerous men and women with chainsaws as they hack away at the nearby trees. Several Pokemon seem to be taking part, including several Bisharps, Scythers and even a Farfetch'd or two. They're decimating the forest.

Suddenly, as you contemplate your next decision, one of your eggs begins moving about. Something is stirring inside.

    How do you proceed?

    > Ask them to stop
    > Throw yourself in front of the machines
    > Flee
    > Tend to the moving egg

With a mighty toss, you cast out the line as far as you possibly can.

    Nothing happens.
