    CUEBALL'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    AYEUN'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Woods
A dense forest where a thick fog lingers. There are Grass and Bug types everywhere you turn. Look up and you'll find Flying types are enjoying the highest reaches of the trees.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    Available

    ‡ Round 198 ‡

You hug the moving egg close to your body. You aren't sure how you know this, but you feel as though the Pokemon inside is drawing strength from you. For some reason, you feel enlivened, too, as though the exchange is reciprocal.

Suddenly, the egg begins to crack and a tiny piece of shell pops off. A leaf wiggles through and then, as several other cracks appear, a number of other leaves and a face follow. A tiny baby Oddish peers up at you. She smiles hopefully.

Looking over to your right, you see a few Bisharps wander over to you. They don't see you and you're not sure how they'll react once they do. There's a chance they might act violently. Glancing over to your left, you see a pair of eyes in the remaining undergrowth. A Pokemon seems to be hiding while staring right at you.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach the Bisharps
    > Flee from the Bisharps
    > Hide with the Pokemon in the undergrowth
    > Tend to the newborn Oddish

With a swift boot, you kick the Magikarp back into the water (at the risk of it evolving into a Gyarados and getting pissed and totally owning your ass). Overhead, the sound of a shrieking Starly startles you.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 199 ‡

Carrying Oddish and the other two Pokemon eggs, you crawl into a dark clump of bushes away from the Bisharps. Hiding here is a beautiful Vileplume with petals that practically sparkle. You try to help her and get her to leave, but she refuses.

"If you want to help, you need to stop those evil humans from destroying my home," Vileplume whispers. "You have to do something. Anything less is selfish."

However, baby Oddish doesn't feel like you're tending to it very well by taking it into a clump of dark, scary bushes. It begins whimpering. You suspect it might start crying soon and attract the attention of the Bisharps.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 200 ‡

You try to calm Oddish as you walk toward the Bisharps, but, like most young creatures, she doesn't seem to like to have your attention divided. She begins shrieking uncontrollably.

The Bisharps approach, blades raised cautiously. You try to talk to them reasonably, but they can't hear a word you're saying over the sound of your screaming Pokemon. As a result, they see you reaching into your backpack for something and immediately feel threatened. They grab you, causing you to drop Oddish and your eggs on the ground. They begin pulling and tugging you with their strong arms toward the loggers.

    How do you proceed?

Though you give it your best effort, your every attempt to resist your attackers proves futile. They are simply much stronger than you are. Eventually, they take you back to the loggers. They lead you to a large man wearing a yellow hat who you assume to be in charge of the operation. He stands beside a Farfetch'd and glares at you.

You watch as the Pokemon returns to the place where you were accosted and scoops up the fallen eggs and your Oddish into its arms. It then returns and hands them to you. At this point, Oddish is screaming herself hoarse.

    ‡ Round 23 ‡

Bruiser pulls himself up and prepares to kick a little Treecko ass. He does a spin on the spot and creates three clones for protection. However, while Buizel wasn't especially adept at mowing down clones, this particular Treecko seems to know what she's doing. She does a leap and comes down hard with an Aerial Ace, striking the correct target and causing all the clones to vanish.

Growling, Bruiser responds with a Fire Punch. The move strikes hard, torching her up nicely, but Treecko then spews out a glob of steaming Toxic. As the strong poison begins to sink in, Bruiser goes for an Ice Punch. Treecko then counters this with another Energy Ball, lowering Bruiser's Special Defence just a tad.

Fortunately for Bruiser, he suddenly has a little added Guts on his side. Bruiser and Treecko exchange two rapid attacks: the former goes for a fiery punch while the later, on the other hand, spews out a barrage of seeds. Treecko is definitely starting to look a little worse for the wear after that powerful hit, however, and soon falls victim to an equally mighty icy punch. Ice crystals soon form around her and she's Frozen.

Bruiser then throws in a little love to sweeten the deal before suffering from the rapidly intensifying Toxin.

    ‡ Round 203 ‡

Exactly like last time, Oddish doesn't like it when you divide your attention between her and someone else. Now, she begins thrashing about in your arms while wailing, trying to break free from your grip.

"Gyms? Safari?" the logger asks. "Those two institutions were discontinued years ago! Don't bullshit me, kid... I know you're not a Gym Leader. You're another friggin' protester, aren't you? And if you can't get that Oddish to shut up, I will!"

He raises the handle of a shovel menacingly.

Because you ignored the moving egg, its movements get stronger and stronger until it falls out of your hands. It smashes against the ground and out pops an infant Pachirisu, looking positively terrified for having hatched in such a violent way. She begins peering around the new world with terrified eyes.

    How do you proceed?

    > Tend to Oddish

    ‡ Round 25 ‡

Though you are handily winning against a Frozen and Attracted Pokemon, you decide to command Bruiser to use Rest. He goes to sleep and begins to regain health at the cost of significant energy.

Soon, beads of moisture begin to materialize on poor, Frozen Treecko and she bursts free. She momentarily overcomes her Attraction to send a mighty Leaf Storm to slice and dice your dozing Machop.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 26 ‡

After that nasty turn, you decide to hoist your sleeping Machop up over your shoulders and sprint away. After several minutes of running, you finally reach a rock wall and pause at its bottom to get some rest. Bruiser wakes up and looks around in a daze, wondering where Treecko went.

Glancing over, you see a Croagunk who appears to be rather amused by your and Bruiser's exhaustion. A few feet away, you see a Sunkern munching on some grass...

...and a few feet away from that, you see a large set of metal doors embedded in the rock wall.

    How do you proceed?

    > Continue to relax and regain health/energy

    > Approach Sunkern

    ‡ Round 28 ‡

You wait until much of the exhaustion and lingering effects from the battle with Treecko have dissipated before deciding to descend into the unknown. The stairs carry you beneath the earth before leveling out into a tortuous passageway. You tread carefully, expecting anything, before entering a dark, cobwebbed room. Guttering torches on the wall provide very little light.

Peering around, you see a number of scuttling Skorupis that peer at you before hurrying away deeper into the bunker. A couple of shady Geodudes sit in the corner, staring at you suspiciously.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach the Skorupis
    > Approach the Geodudes
    > Keep going
    > Leave
