Honestly, it coulda been a BIT better. I separated it by generation for sake of convenience, which cut out some pretty cool possible rhymes (e.g., Groudon and Hippowdon).

The main problem I see is that the instrumental and the lyrics follow a different beat, which leads to some points where the second half of a verse becomes the first half and vice-versa.

Well it's pretty damn cool. Obviously not pro work, but still, dayumn son.

(Yeah no, I will never be a pro at recording.)

The main problem I see is that the instrumental and the lyrics follow a different beat, which leads to some points where the second half of a verse becomes the first half and vice-versa.


(Yes. That pissed me off too. It was mainly due to two factors
1) Maintaining a rhythm consistent to the instrumental that lacked intermittent verses like you said (which also let to me having to wordstrip and speed up my tempo to catch up to the rhythm again.)

2) Being able to pronounce the Pokemon names with the rhymes. You pointed out that there were some good combos between Gens, and honestly, that would have helped. Some of them just don't rhyme unless you pronounce it a certain way. And some of the names are just not cool. The whole Garchomp section? Murder.

Oh and when you say fast, you mean in the time needed to make this up, or my speaking speed? I was going 3/4ths tempo at the harder parts, so I know it got jumbled.

Both, but more the first one. As much as I'd like to be critical, it's hard to considering the short amount of time it was done in.

Also, I imagine that while it may not sound very pro to me, your ghetto-tech rendition is probably the equivalent of me using Audacity and Sony Vegas.

I've been humming the song to myself, but I can't really sing it until I can get the folks out of the house. That's the only time I ever feel comfortable singing, when nobody is around to judge (It's how I got my video game-ified rendition of I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major-General done. ...And then lost in a crash. ).

I use WMM on the rare occasion I make something, too. And if my voice is needed, a ten dollar headset from Radioshack.

I forget what program gave me the clearest voice quality, though. Damn it all.

O.o Gen V did have some easier rhymes. 1 and 5 weren't hard. Like I said, if I could actually have control over the length of the music being used, it woulda been better.

But a mashup for us doing it would be fantastic-all of us would have less stress, since it would only be about 100-156 pokemon each.

Ay: Nooooooo video. I was half asleep at 9 am when I began that, drinking champagne and fruit punch (dont knock it, its effing great). It was a mess. Maybe next time, if the mashup occurs. Id really bust out some sick lines.
