This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away; can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

    Round THIRTEEN
Growing frustrated, you raise your voice. But before you can send Miss to attack the guard that stands arrogantly before you, Weezing hovers over and attempts to cool you down.

"I'm uncertain of who you are, ma'am, but we intend you no harm. We only want to keep the the peace. If you wish to climb higher than we'll allow, that's fine -- but you're going to hafta go through us to do that."

    What's your next move, Crystal?

    Challenge them.
    Head back.

You keep your cool with a smirk, all the while summoning Miss and Starstrike into battle against Weezing and Simisear.

Starstike begins by staring into Simi's eyes, confusing the fiery chimp easily after he's struck by Miss' earth power. Simi comes to very quickly before he swiftly lunges at Starstrike and knocks the starfish to the ground like an acrobat. Weezing is the last up, summoning a thunderbolt from the sky to strike Star.

Simisear shakes his head, but can't come to grips with what he needs to do. As he fumbles about, Starstrike calls for a protective shield to wrap around the four pokémon in your party. Miss, meanwhile, continues to give Simisear hell by striking the fire chimp with her aqua tail. Weezing again comes to his ally's aid and fires a shadow ball to hit Miss in the gut. The damage is minimalized against your light screen.

Starstrike now feels an overwhelming power surging through its tendrils as it compresses Weezing with its mind, dealing a powerful blow. Simisear, no longer confused, retalliates with a lick to Starstrike's jewel..., while Weezing follows up with a shrilling screech.

    Round FIFTEEN
Starstrike wastes no time and hurls Weezing into Simisear via telepathy. Once the two pokémon are together, the starfish hits them both with a weak batch of electricity that manages to paralyze both of them, albeit weakly. Simisear, despite the paralysis being weak, is struck with immobility as Weezing charges Starstrike and tackles swiftly, only to be slammed to the ground by Miss.

Miss immediately charges both Simisear and Weezing before slamming them together with her muscley arms as Simisear's paralysis grants him sweet relief -- he fires off a quick flamethrower that wraps around Miss, dealing very weak damage. Starstrike erects a reflective barrier while Miss ends the round by striking Weezing with her horn.

    Round FIFTEEN
    THE DISPATCHERS
    Yasunori Mitsuda - Gale

Starstrike summons a sudden downpour that overtakes the area. Simisear and Miss are already feeling discomfort from the tiny specks of water that fall from the sky as they use their respective attacks -- Miss with a rupturing earthquake and Simisear with a crunch against the starfish.

Starstrike, unsatisfied with that last attack, takes aim at Simisear as Miss gives the fish praise. A surge of hot water crashes against Simisear, who's muscles are too frozen to retalliate. Weezing, meanwhile, strikes Miss with a sludge bomb.

Miss and Starstrike now work in tandem, with Miss using the rocky scenary as a tool against Simisear and Starstrike squeezing the venom bomb together with a psychic pulse.

Simisear, bruised and beaten, holds up his palm--

"Okay, okay. We see now that you're very strong."

"Indeed. But the path behind us is littered with powerful pokémon, some that will need more than a few psychic attacks can handle -- take this with you."

Weezing gives you a peculiar necklace that was draped around his tinier head.

You take about half an hour to rest up your strength as Miss equips the necklace. She can already feel her power increasing.

    Round SEVENTEEN
With your energy restored and your health at full, you brush past the guards without concern and continue up the mountain. Your trek goes unhindered for quite awhile and you begin to wonder if the guards were just talking out of their asses, but you trudge on anyway.

After another half-hour of nothing but scenery, you come across a large shack with a crudely-written sign in front:

    GALLON'S SHOP!

    Round EIGHTEEN
Ever so curious, you enter the shack and are greeted by another pokémon trying to sell off some wares:

"Afternoon, ladies and germs. My name is Gallon, and this here is my shop of helpful equipment designed to help you tackle Shinsuke and beyond! I trust you brought some bartering tools."

    GALLON'S SHOP!

You rummage through your pockets as your pokémon marvel over the shop's wares, only to find that you don't actually have any of those © things Gallon's looking for. Whoops...
