I had a similar problem once, with someone who used to say he loved my writings. There was a moment when he started scaring me, by saying he worshiped the ground I stepped on (I should have paid more attention to that huge hint that the guy was sick, but I didn't want to believe it). That didn't last long, anyway, and he soon began to say really hurtful things about everything I wrote. That was when we both stopped reading each other's fics (he threw away his own fic around that time anyway because he stopped liking Pokemon). After that, it took me over a year to get back to writing, and I was only able to do it when I realized that he was the one who had a problem, not me.
