Hey Gabi, Suzie, or any active admins... is there a way to make it so that we can "like" posts, like there is on some forums? Or maybe at least a vote up/vote down system?

Haha... I just notice that just every once in a while I feel the urge to do it and remember there's no button. Just throwing that out there...

The system has been around way before facebook. At least, with the up/down thing.

It's widespread across message boards, the option to like or dislike posts. I'm surprised the ability to activate it isn't in administrative tools? Guess it's more complicated than I'd realized.

If it were possible I'd love that. They have something like that on the visa forum I go to, only you can't vote it down you can only vote it up and if it gets enough votes its starred as a popular post I enjoy being able to do that for posts that are epic ;D

there was a rating system in the older days for TPM Polls if I remember right.
But the idea isn't that bad despite not many Bulletin Boards use this system.

You can rate threads. Which you must have noticed by now considering someone's already rated this one. But the "Like" feature must be an add-on, and even assuming they were available for download somewhere on the vBulletin site, only someone with a vBulletin license can get them.

Now, if you happen to have a vBulletin license and find the respective plugin, I wouldn't mind installing it.

this seems to be partially built-in to modern vbulletin (https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/reputation)

but i guess it would require a mod on 3.8.1 (ex. http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=204117 or http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=165673)

We're running 3.8.1. If you get the mod in plugin form, I can try to install it (I've never had a plugin to install, so I don't know if the board will let me or not but the option seems to be there). But if it's not just a plugin, if it requires any kind of access to the server files, then I'm afraid I don't have the permissions to do it.
