    Default Addictions

I write this thread after going an entire day without indulging in any caffeinated drink. Not a coffee, not an energy drink, not an iced coffee -- nothing.

What is your addiction(s)? I have a few besides coffee, but I'll refrain until tomorrow as I'm really tired.

Tea, I suppose. It's not the caffeine because I don't like coffee, cola nor energy drinks, and I like teas/infusions without caffeine just the same. But it's hard to go for a day without some tea, and I crave for it even when my blood pressure is low and I know drinking tea can make it worse.

And I've sometimes suspected that TPM may be an addiction too.

I'm addicted to Diet Coke, but I am cutting down. As of last week, I drink no caffeine or sugar after five PM. I switch to Diet Sprite after that.

I guess it had a lot to do with my doctor changing my medication, which made it harder to sleep.

    Additions? You called?

    TPM
    POKEMON
    FINAL FANTASY
    SUPER MARIO
    TEKKEN
    NARUTO
    DEATH NOTE
    BLIND GUARDIAN
    SAILOR MOON

    And then girls.

Let me tell a story. A girl in Ylivieska Railway Station asked if I had fire for her tobacco and I answered "No, I'm addicted to videogames."

Right now, it's any variation of caffeine: particularly energy drinks and coffee. I don't know if it really does anything any more, or if it's merely a placebo effect. Hopefully when the pill scene picks back up, I'll have better addictions.

I'm a dirty smoker. Entirely disgusting habit and I've been doing that since I was o.o 12/13. I use to be addicted to the internet. I guess I am still to an extent but I've coped previously without even having a computer at a home so think I could cope well without it. I was never addicted to pokemon. I enjoyed pokemon and could get obsessed about it never became an addiction. I was addicted to TPM but clearly over the years have had bouts of no posting.

I do require coffee and I don't care if it is instant or not. In terms of interests I can get temporarily obsessed with things, i.e. pokemon, Konjiki no gash Bell, Wrestling, Movies, TV, manga/anime etc. But I tend to quickly suffer from being burned out. I'll collect heaps of things too but then eventually just become bored of it all.

    So addictions,

    coffee
    smoking
    bread I guess lol

    Haha, well played Becky.

I was going to say alcohol as one of my addictions, but that's not really accurate as I went sober for a whole year relatively recently and didn't miss it or have troubles going without. Having said that, I did put myself on that sobriety because I could see my drinking was problematic at the time (not so much addictive ... just problematic). And since my sobriety ended I still go out and have huge benders from time to time, but they're much less frequent now (maybe once a month if that), and I don't think I've actually passed out/thrown up from alcohol since my last birthday, and that was almost nine months ago. I'd call that progress, or just growing up maybe.

I am still addicted to coffee and cigarettes but I'm actually right in the middle of fighting/crushing these addictions at the moment and doing fairly well at it. Until a couple of weeks ago, I was having somewhere between 6 to 10 shots of coffee every single day, then wondering why I was stressed out/wired all the time. (So, shazza, I relate.) So I've cut that out for the last two weeks and haven't really missed it - I just feel a lot calmer most of the time, to be honest. Also, I quit smoking on Sunday. I haven't had a cigarette for four days now which is pretty damn good.

... or, to look at it through a different lens, I'm an ex-smoker, ex-caffeine addict who is on the patches and on the decaf ... so please, world, don't get in my face for awhile.

My addiction is tea, ironically enough. I'm also quite addicted to the interwebz.

Shazza's addiction is my bane. I can't stand caffeinated stuff, I haven't been able to touch a soda since high school.

My #1 addiction is probably, I know this is random but, going to the gym. I get really antsy if I don't get to workout and had intended to. Lots of cognitive dissonance.

Also, smoking when I drink must stop that..

Exercise addiction is a real thing, people can get hell-bent on that shit.

Also, smoking when I drink must stop that..
^That is what's going to be hardest for me now that I've quit. To the point where I actually had a dream last night that I went out drinking and then ended up smoking again. Sigh.

For me it was alcohol. What started off as a way to ease off anxiety in social functions turned out to be a way to escape for me...a way to ease my tensions from work. After blacking out a few times, (and in turn, losing my memory during these events), I said--enough. I stopped drinking on my own, and took up other hobbies to keep my mind occupied--photography and making jewelry just to name two.

Now my ONLY true addiction is to Coke Zero. All the flavor of Coke, with no sugar. Not going to give it up any time soon. Also, I'm addicted to my cell phone, because of Twitter, but that's the only serious addictions I have now.

Unfortunately for me, Chewing Tobacco and Cigarettes are my current addiction... have tried to quit for two years to no avail Chewing is completely disgusting, I hate the smell, I hate the taste, but something about it just keeps making me go back to it.

I was addicted to caffeine for a while (to the point of 6-8 Diet Cokes/Pepsis a day) but I have managed to stop and only drink a few every week or so.

Internet and Lying would be my other minor ones, I suppose.
