I was in year 11. Life was good back then. I still had a killer body.

Playing Pokemon Gold and Silver, and owning my schools league (yeah, my school had enough players that we formed our own league) with my Umbreon. Ah, the first time I beat our school's Psychic trainer with just one pokemon will be with me forever.

12 years ago was 2000, so I would have been about to graduate into senior high school and was 13 years old.

I joined the forums on that first day, March 24th. I had a bad cold and just happened to check on TPM, and the news about the forum was right there! Huzzah!

12 years ago I was a 16 year old with nothing to do so when internet browsing. In Late February or March I discovered the pokemasters.com site and from there went onto the chat. I visibly remember seeing Kevin making a news item saying a special surprise would be out tomorrow and bam it was the forums so I signed up first day and I can't believe it exists in one way still today. Pretty disturbing really.

Outside of TPM I had just failed 5th form and was repeating maths but doing 6th form for other stuff. But I got distracted with internet things and failed everything. I was going through some changes and got out of sorts with some friends.

In 12 years time I don't know what I'll be doing. Hopefully healthy with the ability not to always think about budgets. But meh I don't know. I'll be 40 by then. ewww.

It was the N64/PS1 era. I myself just started my freshman year of high school. Gold and Silver were out Japan since November of 1999. The US wouldn't see it until October 2000. I eventually stumbled across TPM while trying to find info about them.

In 1999, I was in high school football and I was trying to help my team (Cresskill, NJ high school) win its first state championship against a team that just racked up the points toward anyone that they played. In fact, I still have the plaque from my days on HS football, yet all I can remember from the game is that the other team had the biggest and best HS football players in Northern New Jersey. They were Group 1 and they had to face tough teams from Group 4.
