"Can't you read the sign?" he barks. "No students allowed!"

He slams the door in your face.

You then try the second door. It opens to a set of stairs leading deep beneath the school.

"Cynder, have you found the basement yet?" Steve asks through the transmitter.

You take the stairs down into the basement and ask Steve what you're looking for.

"All the items confiscated from students are kept in the same room," Steve explains. "You'll know you've found it when you see a big, reinforced door made of steel. Be sure you don't get caught. The basement is out of bounds for students, if you don't already know."

The stairs eventually level out in what appears to be a storage area littered with extra desks, chairs and tables. You even see a couple out of order copiers in the corner. Once again, you're left with a choice: take the corridor to the left or the right.

Before you can make a choice, however, you hear voices coming down the steps behind you. They seem to be talking quietly to themselves.

hey, rosalinda, glad to see you're ok. Eevee, keep your distance from golurk. start charging up a shadow ball to full capacity! Once it's charged up, run to the right and use it. (this next part i'm gonna say to rosalinda only) Rosalinda, relay a message to eevee using telekinesis. Tell eevee to imbed a toxic in the shadow ball secretly. Then tell eevee to go left instead, use quick attack to go as fast as possible, and shoot the toxic shadow ball at golurk.

Leo remains motionless, pondering how in the world she’s going to execute your commands. Meanwhile, you try to strike Shuppet with your sword, but you find it impossible: the Magma Storm continues to rage around her, preventing you from getting near. She appears to be terrified into inaction.

As all this goes down, Ricario targets Sneasel with one final Focus Blast which knocks her out of battle once and for all. Rotom spews out a pair of Will-O-Wisps, Burning Leo and Ricario, before blinding Ricario with a Flash. The little so-and-so is toying with you!

You and your Pokemon duck behind a stack of chairs as the approaching figures come down the stairs. You risk a peek, spying an Audino who looks to be a teacher or secretary or something like that. She’s standing alongside a mustachioed Ambipom with a rather officious sash and top hat as well as an unsmiling Noctowl decked out in a police officer’s uniform.



“And this is the basement!” Audino lilts.

“Fascinating,” Ambipom says dully. “Do you often include the storage facilities when you give tours of the school?

“Sorry… Ernesta told me to keep you busy until your assembly this afternoon,” Audino explains sheepishly. “Er… so, are you excited to address the student body, Mayor Ambipom? Commissioner Noctowl? I’m sure you’ll both do wonderfully!”

“Oh, quite excited,” Mayor Ambipom says with a nod. “It’s important to reassure the youth of Skyline Terrace that they’re safe in case of emergency. I look forward to explaining the new Citywide Security Field to them.”

“It’s been a long time coming,” Commissioner Noctowl adds. “Our unit received a lot of complaints after that Giratina escaped last summer and rampaged all over the Safari Zone. It didn’t come anywhere near Skyline Terrace, of course, but we were admittedly ill-prepared in any case. With the Citywide Security Field, we won’t be sitting ducks in case of another emergency.”

“Good to hear,” Audino replies. “Now, would you gentlemen like to see where we store all our chalk? There’s lots of it!”

“Might as well,” Mayor Ambipom says with a sigh and they shuffle off out of sight down the right corridor.

This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away; can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

You issue verbal commands to Eevee while simultaneously using Rosalinda’s Psychic powers to amend those commands with secret instructions.



“Did you hear that, Golurk?” Cassandra shouts. “Fire a Focus Blast to the right!”

As Golurk attacks, Eevee gracefully dekes to the left with the help of a Quick Attack, evading the Focus Blast by quite a bit. Eevee then laces a Shadow Ball with Toxic poison before firing the attack at the big Ground-type golem. He lets out a pained cry as the Toxin takes hold. His Special Defence also takes a dip.

“Come on, Golurk! DynamicPunch until you hit!” an angry Cassandra cries.

Golurk lumbers forward and tries to execute the horribly inaccurate attack. The first DynamicPunch goes wide but the second lands, boosted by Golurk’s ability. Eevee stumbles as she succumbs to immediate Confusion. Joy.

You hop down a level and approach the family of furry Pokemon. You ask for fur, which could very easily offend someone like them… but, fortunately, they don’t seem to take umbrage.




“Thank you!” Mama Cinccino says, stroking her elegant pelt. “Ruskie Tundra, you say? We have some spare furs we can lend you! They’re at out house. I’ll be back in a jiff.”

As she scurries off, one of the little Minccino’s ears perk up. He begins tugging at your pantleg.

“Hey, Mister! You’re going to the tundra? Can I come? I’ve always wanted to go!” he squeals with excitement.

“Now, Bradley,” Papa Cinccino says, “he’s a busy Pokemon trainer. He doesn’t want to take a little Minccino all the way to Ruskie Tundra.”

“Aww, c’mon! Mom’s lending him her coats… I’m sure he doesn’t mind taking me on a trip and then bringing me back right after!” the little Minccino whines.

rosalinda, try to make a solid telekinetic connection to eevee and tell her to use shadow ball. Also tell her the exact location of golurk and where its attacks are going to land so that she can dodge attacks and land hits.

(is it cheating if you use your psychic pokemon to relay commands to your pokemon? I think not! I just really wanna win.)

if not then ric use your aura powers to make the flash obsolete then shoot a toxic infused aura sphere at rotom and leo spam as many shadow balls as you can at shuppet I'm going at rotom with my sword (which I think can be counted as an iron tail or a metal claw)

Rosalinda uses her telepathic powers to pass on your commands to Eevee, but it's unclear exactly how much of this information is being received. Confusion seems to have really borked Eevee's head, causing her to take a time out to gnaw on her own tail. Golurk watches impassively and strikes with a Focus Blast, harming Eevee considerably.

Eevee's head seems to be back in the game just a tad as she shoots off a Shadow Ball at Golurk. It strikes, prompting Golurk to retaliate with a second Focus Blast. However, heeding Rosalinda's instructions, Eevee tries to leap out of the way. The Confusion limits her reaction time, though, and she's still grazed by the attack's hot energy. Golurk keeps up the heat with a third Focus Blast (spam!), but at this point Eevee's Confusion has entirely washed away. Rosalinda predicts where the attack will land and warns Eevee, allowing the little brown fox to leap out of the attack's path.



“Your aim is horrible, Golurk!" Cassandra spits, throwing her parasol against the ground.

Eevee shoots off a second Shadow Ball, striking her target effectively. Golurk twitches as the Toxin elevates in strength.

Ricario closes his eyes and laces an Aura Sphere with a Toxic. The attack shoots off toward Rotom; however, since the Plasma Pokemon is lurking behind a Substitute, the imitation takes the hit. You lash out with your sword, finishing the Substitute off before using the rest of your blows to strike the real Rotom. Leo, meanwhile, manages to bypass Paralysis and strike Shuppet with three Shadow Balls that bring it within an inch of its life.

Rotom, meanwhile, blasts Ricario with a Thunderbolt before throwing up a Light Screen and a Reflect. Shuppet suddenly breaks free from the Magma Storm and hits Leo with another Shadow Ball... which again has on effect. Shuppet instead uses two more Charge Beams, sizzling your little painter from head to tail.

You can wait until you can no longer hear the voices belonging to Audino, Mayor Ambipom and Commissioner Noctowl before scurrying off. You find that you only need to walk a short distance before coming upon exactly what Steve described: a sturdy door made entirely of steel.

Perched near the handle is a digital keypad exactly like the one at the entrance to the ASB Archive. It looks as though you'll need a passcode to get in.

Eevee shoots off a Shadow Ball that brings Golurk to the brink of defeat as Golurk readies its next attack. Rosalinda tries to predict where the golem's next attack will land, but Golurk executes an attack that's not too easy to evade. The beast slams a heavy leg against the ground, causing an Earthquake that sends Eevee shimmying and stumbling about like crazy. She collides hard with the ground but gets back up, weary yet not quite defeated. She shoots off a second Shadow Ball just as Golurk causes a second Earthquake to wreak havoc on your surroundings.

Eevee and Golurk succumb to their respective attacks. In unison, they fall.



“What?" Cassandra blurts out. "You tied with an Eevee? But that thing's tiny!"

As she returns her Golurk to her Pokeball, Sake and Rosalinda retrieve Eevee. The little critter whimpers but looks as though she'll make an eventual recovery.

"So it's come to this," Cassandra mutters. "Well, no matter. Infernape, you're up."



Penelope looks to you, knowing it's all on her now. Her eyes well with tears.



"I'm afraid," she whimpers. "I don't know if I can do this."

On the brink of defeat, Ricario Digs away underground to safety. As he vanishes beneath the earth, Rotom tries to strike him with a Hyper Beam, but your Lucario is too quick. He's out of sight by the time the Hyper Beam collides uselessly with the ground.

With one final Shadow Ball, Leo finishes off Shuppet. Yay! Paralysis makes his body rigid immediately thereafter as Rotom recharges. When Paralysis wears off, Sketch aims at the only remaining target, Rotom, and strikes with a Shadow Ball... and scores a critical hit! Whoo! You dart in with your sword, bashing away with strike after strike. Rotom wails in pain before shooting off another Hyper Beam at Leo. Leo takes the hit but doesn't seem to be ready to quit just yet.

Rotom floats down to the ground, exhausted as it is again forced to recharge. Refrigerator coolant leaks across the forest's soil. It doesn't look like Rotom has much more fuel left in the tank.

You offer Penelope some kind words of encouragement as she waddles into battle. She looks up at Infernape with tremulous eyes and swallows. Chuckling, Infernape begins bristling with red-gold flames as she spirals toward Penelope with a Flame Wheel attack. Penelope, however, Bounces up into the air out of the attack's range. She then comes down hard against Infernape's head.

Grunting, Infernape again comes charging toward Penelope, this time with her arms raised to deliver a powerful physical blow. Glowing red, Penelope uses some of her Psychic prowess to redirect the Submission... at the ground. Infernape collides hard with the rocky terrain.



“Infernape, you fool!" Cassandra bellows, stamping hard against her parasol. "Focus Blast!"

Infernape shoots off a concentrated blast of chi energy that can't be Psychiced away. The Focus Blast connects with Penelope and throws her fifty feet in the air. She then hits the ground with a stomach-churning thud. Her Special Defence stat drops.

"Oomph," Penelope grunts in a daze.

use rain dance, first thing. if she tries to use a fire type move still, intercept it with water pulse. If she tries to use a fighting type move (excluding focus blast), use Psychic to stop it. If she uses any long-range moves like focus blast (excluding fire type moves), use copy cat to match it.

Leo whips her tail around wildly and Sketches brilliant moon that fills the clearing with soft, ominous light. It begins to exert a strange Gravitational influence on Rotom. Smirking, Leo begins to bask in the Moonlight. Still recharging, Rotom flattened hard against the earth as Ricario comes up and delivers a powerful Ground-type strike. Finally, you step forward with you sword raised to deliver the coup de grâce.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

Rotom can't even begin to counter you as you lash out again and again with your blade. The Plasma Pokemon flickers and reverts to its base form as you throw your Great Ball. With a flash of red light, Rotom is sucked into its cavity. Glowing under the moonlight, the Great Ball falls to the earth. You wait.

Wiggle.

Wiggle.

Wiggle.

Click.

Suddenly, you're Teleported to the front station. The Abra behind the counter passes over your Pokeball containing Larvitar and your Great Ball containing Rotom. She wishes you a pleasant afternoon.

Not one to mess around, Infernape releases not one but three Focus Blasts that whistle through the air. Penelope matches the attack by Copycatting three Focus Blasts of her own. The air becomes a blinding display of flashing, glaring light as the Focus Blasts explode against their targets.

When the light fades, Infernape seems to be weakened but still ready to go. Penelope, on the other hand, looks fatigued and weary. Those three super effective hits really got the best of her.



“Wonderful, Infernape," Cassandra says smugly. "About time you showed your merit."

Penelope whimpers.

Hanzo scratches his chin and then nods. He seems willing to try, at least.

Then, use psychic. if you're almost done for, use a mixture of endure and endeavor to hopefully bring her down to one health. Finally, use faint attack to finish her off. If you can, however, try to dodge as much as possible.

You're better than her, penelope, and you know it. Now you have to show her what you're made of! Take her down! (during the next part, i'm going to be listening to "what I'm made of" by Crush40 )

The battle continues as Infernape fires off yet another Focus Blast. Penelope tries to dodge the powerful attack, but she simply isn't fast enough: she's again thrown high into the air before landing hard against the ground. She doesn't look like she has a lot of health left in her, but she gets up and squirts off a Water Pulse at Infernape. The water sizzles against Infernape's red-hot exterior, activating her Blaze ability. Suddenly, the monkey lurches every the slightest as her world goes topsy-turvy. She's Confused.



“Cut it out, Infernape!" Infernape snaps. "Finish it! Mach Punch!"

In her current state, Infernape, seems more willing to chew on her fist rather than attack Penelope. As she sits there gnawing away, Penelope lashes out with a series of Psychic blows that pummel the Fire-type Pokemon again and again. Infernape then gets up, steps forward to deliver the final attack... but ultimately decides to sack herself in the face again and again with her tail. As Cassandra watches in shock, Penelope finishes things once and for all. With an Endeavor, Penelope throws her full body against Infernape's gut. The monkey collapses. She doesn't get back up.

"I... I don't believe it," Cassandra says in shock. "You... you fool... you weak, pathetic, fool."

Penelope, meanwhile, is jumping up and down in delight. She leaps into your arms. Sake, Rosalinda and Eevee all look similarly excited.

"We did it!" she squeals. "We won!"

"Well, the conditions of our battle were made very clear," Cassandra says, returning Infernape to her Pokeball. "If you won, I was to accept you back. Clearly, you're not the weak Pokemon I thought you were. You're a powerful fighter. Together we could be great."

"Pffsh," Penelope scoffs. "Like I'm going to return to you after everything you said! Sorry, Cassandra, but my standards for Pokemon trainers are pretty high. I think it's time for me to abandon you."

Cassandra listens to Penelope's words before dropping down to the ground, head inclined. She looks to be severely shaken. She doesn't seem like the type to take rejection or defeat very well.

Shinsuke Island
This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away; can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

Penelope blushes as she realizes that what she said was perhaps a little harsh. She looks over to Cassandra and realizes that her former trainer is quietly sobbing to herself. With a look of genuine concern on her face, Penelope waddles toward Cassandra and bounces onto Cassandra's lap. She rests a squishy pink hand against Cassandra's arm.

"Did you really mean what you said?" Penelope asks. "Do you really think we could be great together?"



"Yeah, I think so," Cassandra says softly. "But, I mean... I understand why you wouldn't want me. I think I need to reevaluate the way I battle and treat my Pokemon."

"Well, I'll help you figure out how to do that!" Penelope says brightly. "And then together we will be great!"

Cassandra looks at her Igglybuff in disbelief and then wraps her up in a big hug. D'aww. Sake looks as though he's about to cry. With Penelope in her arms, Cassandra walks up to you.

"Thank you for teaching me something today," she says. "I can be a bit... hard to handle at times, I think, and hopefully Penelope can help me curb that trait. Listen, I have something I want to give you. I got it at a breeding center recently but I think I need to focus on changing the way I treat my current Pokemon before I can add any new members to my team. So, yeah. Enjoy. And thanks again."

She places something round and warm in your hands.

You ask your Pokemon where you might want to go next. Sake and Rosalinda seem unsure, not knowing the Safari Zone very well, but Eevee offers a couple of ideas.

"Well, I heard there are a couple of contests going on at Ivy Woods right now," Eevee explains. "There's a Bug-Catching Contest and the prize, I've heard, is a shiny Murkrow! Or if you go to Ivy Lake, which is in the center of Ivy Woods, you can take part in a Fishing Contest. The prize for that one is a Dratini! But if you didn't want to take part in a contest, I've heard Maos Temple in the Nevshard Badlands is a neat place with some cool Ghosts... if you can find it. Warwick Meadows is also a relaxing place. They have a ridiculous amount of Pichus. But yeah, wherever you want to go. There are plenty of other options."

A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

You decide to go with the Fishing Contest. Rosalinda envisions Ivy Lake in her head and Teleports the lot of you there. You find yourself standing on the bank of a large body of water. Just a few feet ahead, you see a Seismitoad seated behind a table decked out with a banner reading "Ivy Lake Fishing Contest Registration. All other Pokemon will be kept on the shore with us."



"Don't be shy!" Seismitoad shouts out. "Come one, come all... test your skill and see what kind of Pokemon you can fish up! Registration is free and it will get you one boat, one fishing rod and five Lure Balls. Any trainer is welcome to sign up with one of their Pokemon who will assist them during the contest."

You see four other trainers who have already registered. They're standing alongside their partner Pokemon.






The fisherman with the Kingdra intimidates you the most. He looks like he's been fishing his entire life.
