    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Triangle Island
This island, far off from the coast, seems to have a peculiar energy to it. Strange things occur when it is visited-but reports of its existence are few and far between. What is known is that it has many craters and is a strange hilly terrain, with few patches of grass.

    ‡ Round 123 ‡

You decide to ignore Princess Pomegranate for the time being and focus on the real task at hand: King Blowser! You spy a length of rope lying on the ground near the vat. You pick it up and sprint toward the Blastoise, tying him up quickly. Just when you think you've gotten him bested, he lets out a roar and strikes you with a highly pressurized Hydro Cannon. The strength of the cannon rockets you back into the far wall. Ouch. The strength of the attack causes you to lose your Mega Mushroom. That said, Blowser is still tied up.

"Let... me... out of here!" he roars as she struggles against his bindings. You doubt you'll be able to keep him tied up for long.

You look over and see Wynario and Wynuigi sorting out their brotherly spat... which is to say they're rolling around on the ground wrestling.

"You were always jealous of me! This is why you did this! Isn't it?" Wynario grunts.

"It's my turn in the spotlight!" Wynuigi roars. "And if I have to partner up with King Browser get there, so be it!"

They're starting to make Ernesta and Elmira look downright civil by comparison.

    How do you proceed?

    > Attack King Blowser
    > Try to save the princess

    GREYFOX'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Dysfunctionland
A dilapidated series of amusement park rides and buildings. Who knows what you might find underneath these dusty tents and behind closed doors…

    ‡ Round 34 ‡

The Park Director and Brigitte exchange tentative looks.

"The thing you don't know about Mistress Miyako is that 'oddball' is a very diplomatic way to describe her," the Park Director explains. "'Raving nutjob lunatic' might be a little closer to the truth. She's very gifted, yes, but old age got the best of her. Toward the end of her time with us, she started acting rather bizarrely... even more bizarrely than one would expect from a Pokemon in her profession. She was always attempting weird ceremonies and enchantments, often with dangerous repercussions. One seance of hers nearly resulted in half of Dysfunctionland getting burned down. When she started ranting about how her ceremonies would require sacrifices—living sacrifices—we knew she was a danger to herself and to others. We had her taken away to a high-security prison where she is presently confined."

    How do you proceed?

Well, until we find a way to revive Astrid, we're sitting ducks. Miyako may very well be our only chance to stop this cult.

    ‡ Round 35 ‡

"I'm not sure we can simply request her parole, though," the Park Director responds. "Even if we cited the immediate danger of the entire Safari Zone as a reason, such a request would take weeks, maybe even months to process. By then Darkrai will be back and we'll be screwed."

"A jailbreak might be our only hope," Brigitte says. "What do you say, human? Are you and your Pokemon ready for such an undertaking?"

    ‡ Round 36 ‡

The Park Director pales at your request.

    "I... I, um, I don't know..." he mutters.

"Come on, now!" Brigitte hisses. "If we're not quick with all of this, the Dreadhand Cult will resurrect Darkrai and we'll all be screwed. You're a friggin' Smeargle. You're the most broken Pokemon around! We could really use your help with this whole operation!"

"Fine," the Park Director concedes. "Mistress Miyako is currently being detained at Calypso Fortress, which is on an island somewhere off the coast of Tranquil Shores. I don't know where, exactly. I've never been there. Our best bet would be to travel to Tranquil Shores and sail out from there."

"We're ready when you are!" Brigitte says to you brightly.

    GREYFOX'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Tranquil Shores
A small cove-style beach. There are lots of ocean pokemon to be found here, as well as Fire types enjoying the sun. Steel and electric-types may be able to detect treasure under the sand.

    ‡ Round 37 ‡

The Park Director and Brigitte join your party as you head outside and summon Megazord from its Pokeball. As the three of you mount Megazord, it strikes you that it's still night outside. Perhaps you weren't in the Park Director's office as long as you thought? However, as Megazord shoots off into the sky and Flies away from Dysfunctionland, the Park Director and Brigitte seem a little confused by the darkness as well.

"What time do you got?" Brigitte asks the Park Director.

"Er... it's almost seven in the morning," the Park Director responds as he checks his pocket watch. "Considering Midsummer was last night, the sun should have already started rising, right?"

Brigitte doesn't reply and instead watches the sky ominously. Soon, the landscape below grows gradually less bleak and gives way to rolling dunes of sand. The air becomes salty as you touch down upon the moonlit beach of Tranquil Shores. You see a few Pokemon strolling beside the water, watching the night sky with identical looks of curiosity.

A short ways away, you see a docked tugboat bobbing on the surf. A sign on the adjacent pier informs you that it's Property of Al.

    How do you proceed?

    > Approach Dwebble
    > Approach Sandile
    > Approach Ponyta
    > Approach the tugboat
    > Try Flying to Calypso Fortress
    > Inquire about the sky

A small cove-style beach. There are lots of ocean pokemon to be found here, as well as Fire types enjoying the sun. Steel and electric-types may be able to detect treasure under the sand.

    ‡ Round 38 ‡

You hunt around for any sign of Al, but you don't see anyone else near the pier. After a short walk, you come across a small, ramshackle hut on the water. You see a sign in the front yard bearing the words Al's Bungalow. Man, that Al sure likes to mark his territory.

"I guess we knock, then?" Brigitte asks.

"Or we could just take the boat," the Park Director mutters. Brigitte shoots him a nasty look. "What, so jailbreaks are ethical but theft isn't? Do we honestly think this guy is going to loan his boat out to a bunch of soon-to-be criminals attempting to break a psychopathic medium out of prison? Yeah, didn't think so."

You step onto Al's front porch and peer through one of the windows. His sheer curtains are drawn, but you can just barely make out the shape of an elderly Krokorok puttering around inside.

Megazord also takes a step onto Al's porch, which causes the old, rotting boards beneath his feet it to groan loudly. Suddenly, you hear a voice from inside.

You head down to the pier where, after a couple of minutes, you see Al shuffling down the beach dressed like Paddington Bear. The lot of you hop into the tugboat.

"Anchors aweigh!" Al shouts as the tugboat comes to life with a whole lot of spluttering. "I'll take you to western waters. That's where the ocean is deepest. You'll find only the strongest Water-type Pokemon there."

After a few minutes, you've left the pier behind and are bobbing along on the high seas. It starts to rain. The Park Director looks nervous.

"Well, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure Calypso Fortress is east of here, not west," he whispers. "That's what I've been told, at least."

This island, far off from the coast, seems to have a peculiar energy to it. Strange things occur when it is visited-but reports of its existence are few and far between. What is known is that it has many craters and is a strange hilly terrain, with few patches of grass.

    ‡ Round 124 ‡

Time to kick King Blowser while he's down! You activate the Ice Flower and begin lobbing balls of pure icy energy at him. They sting him horribly and a couple of balls slide down his aquatic cannons, plugging them with ice. Letting out a roar, he tries another Hydro Cannon, but he can't seem to overcome the blockage. The pressure builds until results in a loud explosion. King Blowser flies upwards before landing hard on the ground and slumping over in a daze.

Now that you have some time on your hands, you focus on helping Princess Pomegranate.

"Oh, thank you, kind traveler!" Princess Pomegranate cries from up above in her cage. "I'm so happy you decided to help me... unlike SOMEBODY."

She then glares sharply at Wynario, who's still having his spat with his brother.

You try cooling the water down with your ice balls, but the water seems to be too hot. The balls simply evaporate upon contact.

"Look, over there!" Princess Pomegranate cries. "There's a control pad thingy... you might be able to find the buttons that changes the temperature in the pool... or at least one that will stop my cage from lowering at such a painstakingly slow pace toward the boiling water!"

You locate the control pad beside the pool. You see a mess of confusing buttons.

    How do you proceed?

    > Press the red button
    > Press the blue button
    > Press the pink button
    > Press the button with Blower's face on it
    > Pull the black lever

You ask Al to take you to Calypso Fortress.

"Oh, uh, sure. Why didn't you say so?" he saws as he begins steering hard portside.

The rain continues with greater urgency as you enter a patch of fog. In the distance, you can barely make out four spotlights gliding like ghosts over the tossing water. They haven't noticed your approach just yet.

"So what's your business at Calypso, eh?" Al asks. "Scary place, I'm told. I imagine when the spotlights see our boat the guards will call out at us and tell us where to dock?"

    ‡ Round 125 ‡

You try the blue button and the silver switch. Suddenly, the torches go out and a number of strobe lights descend from the ceiling and start bathing the room in coloured, pulsating light. Then, music comes on out of nowhere. You pause in momentary confusion.

"The hell is going on?" Princess Pomegranate mutters. "Okay, maybe I entirely misinterpreted what that control pad was for. My bad, guys."

Suddenly, a figure grabs you from behind.

"You weren't supposed to find out about that!" King Blowser shouts as he holds you in his tight grasp. Looks like he broke free from his bindings. "Time for you to pay!" Blower then raises you over the vat of the water. You're pretty sure your worst fears are going to be realized: you're going to be boiled alive at a Blastoise's weird-ass dance party. Oh dear.

Meanwhile, Wynario and Wynuigi continue trying to rip each others faces off.

I gotta be honest with you, Al, we're not exactly going to be welcomed here.

We're trying to break someone out -- a seer. Something's gone wrong at Disfunctionland and she seems to be the only one capable of helping is untangle the mystery.

I understand if you're unhappy with us taking your boat without telling you the full story.

I'll call to Wynario for help and try and get Blowser to loosen his grip by using as much ice at his hands as possible. Or the face. Or both. Both works.

"Wait," he says in shock. "You want to bust someone out of prison? Like... a convict? Oh golly, that makes me... an accessory! No, this simply won't do. I'm taking this boat back to shore! I won't have any part in this mess!"

He then begins steering hard in an attempt to pull a u-turn.

"Told you we should've stolen the boat," the Park Director mutters.

    How do you proceed?

    > Return to shore
    > Insist that Al help you
    > Jump ship
    > Fly to Calypso Fortress

    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Triangle Island
This island, far off from the coast, seems to have a peculiar energy to it. Strange things occur when it is visited-but reports of its existence are few and far between. What is known is that it has many craters and is a strange hilly terrain, with few patches of grass.

    ‡ Round 126 ‡

You call out to Wynario, but he doesn’t seem to be paying attention. With heavy bass and seizure-inducing lights pressing in on all sides, you nonetheless manage to take aim at Blowser by blasting him with a series of ice attacks to his hands and face. He lets out a roar and drops you (ow) before stumbling backwards. He then trips over the squabbling Wynauts and slams hard to the ground.

Meanwhile, Wynario and Wynuigi seem to be making a breakthrough with their conflict resolution.

“I… was the one… who was jealous of you!” Wynario shouts as he wrings his brother’s neck.

    “Really?” Wynuigi chokes.

“Well, yeah! You’re half a millimeter taller… thicker stache… sick green hat,” Wynario grunts.

“I had no idea,” Wynuigi says, looking genuinely touched.

“Er… guys?” Princess Pomegranate says. “This is lovely and all, but my cage is, um…”

You realize that the pulsating bass is causing her cage to wobble back and forth up in the air. The old chain doesn’t seem to be built for that kind of movement, though, and you can see the chinks starting to strain. You know you don’t have much more time before Princess Pomegranate falls to her watery death.

However, before you can act, King Blowser tackles you hard to the ground where he keeps you pinned. Your power-up vanishes.

    How do you proceed?

    > Fight back
    > Try to wiggle free
    > Shout for Wynario's help

Yes, yes, your mustaches are dashing and you're both incredibly tall! Help me out over here! Wynario, your precious princess is about to become Wobuffet stew! Don't you want to do something about that?

    ‡ Round 127 ‡

Wynario and Wynuigi spring into action.

"I'm so sorry, brother," Wynuigi says. "Is there anything I can do to make amends for my horrible, horrible misdeeds?"

"We need to save Pom Pom!" Wynario cries. "I've got an idea! Get on my back! Maybe we can reach her like that!"

The two Pokemon scurry to the side of the vat of water. Wynuigi hops on Wynario's back and, together, they're barely four feet tall.

"Ugh, you guys are so dumb!" Princess Pomegranate shouts. "You need to do something! Something that's actually helpful! I'm going to fall soon!"

Meanwhile, Blowser blasts you in the face with a highly pressurized Hydro Cannon. Looks like the ice melted. Nuts.

Wynario, turn the music off! I think it will be the blue button and the silver switch, so press those. In the meantime I'll try and throw Blowser off of me or something.

    ‡ Round 128 ‡

Wynario and Wynuigi try to flip the switch, but they're not tall enough to reach the control pad.

Suddenly, the music proves the be too much. The chain snaps and Princess Pomegranate's cage begins to fall toward to the water. However, at the same time, you see a bright light coming from the entrance to the chamber. A white blur zips through the air toward Princess Pomegranate and catches her just before she lands in the water.

Sweet deus ex machina! Toadgepi evolved into Toadgetic! That's not contrived and horribly convenient at all!

"Thought you guys might want a little help," Toadgetic says as he sets Princess Pomegranate safely down on the ground. "I'm sick of taking the back seat on these things. Also, how badass are my wings? Mega badass. Also, those are some sick beats you guys are playing."

"No!" King Blowser roars. "Don't you normally save the princess after defeating me? I'm not sure what to do now. This is all so horribly out-of-order."

    How do you proceed?

Al, you've been very helpful to us thus far, and I'm not gonna try to convince you further. Thank you for bringing us this far.

I'll recall Duckbot and Chopin for now. Zord, you're gonna hafta fly us the rest of the way. Director, can youbpaint up some sort of diversion for us? Or something to keep us hidden from the security lights?

Toadgetic, can you help me out over here? Thunder Wave and Magical leaf should do the trck, at least to get him off me. Then once he's up, use Grass Knot.

    GREYFOX'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Tranquil Shores
A small cove-style beach. There are lots of ocean pokemon to be found here, as well as Fire types enjoying the sun. Steel and electric-types may be able to detect treasure under the sand.

    ‡ Round 44 ‡

You bid farewell to Al, who watches you in disbelief.

You attempt to recall Chopin and Duckbot but, ohwait, they've been in their balls this entire time. You, Brigitte and the Park Director then hop aboard Megazord who blasts off Iron Giant-style into the dark, stormy skies. Water pelts you as the Director starts Sketching something large and tawny with his tail.

The fake Dragonite gets caught on a gust of wind and starts wafting toward the prison. Suddenly, all of the spotlights change direction and catch the Dragonite in their gaze. You can hear a voice from down below addressing the Dragonite through a bullhorn, but you can't precisely make out what they're saying.

Meanwhile, you scope out Calypso Fortress. You see a massive, storm-tossed tower stretching up into the dark sky. The tower is surrounded by a prison yard which itself is enclosed within a rather tall perimeter fence. The fence has four outposts in every corner, each one shining a spotlight into the sky. Squinting through the storm, you see that the fortress's grounds are patrolled by little specks you assume to be Pokemon. There appears to be four entrances into the prison, one on each side of the tower.

    How do you proceed?

Director, think you can paint us a few more distractions to keep the heat off us when we get to the prison?

Bridge, you can help to! Throw down some Presents to get the guards all excited!

    ‡ Round 129 ‡

Toadgetic comes to your rescue, attacking Blowser with a crippling Thunder Wave and then a Magical Leaf that tosses him clear off of you. Toadgetic then pins him down with a powerful Grass Knot.

"No!" Blower wails. "I will not let this happen!"

He then takes aim at you with yet another Hydro Cannon. However, this time, Princess Pomegranate leaps in front of your path.

"Not on much watch, buster!" she cries as she begins to glow with the light of a Mirror Coat. The water strikes her and then is repelled toward Blowser, throwing him back into his throne which topples over. Wynario and Wynuigi start giggling.

"The gig's up, bud," Wynario says.

"Yeah, you might as well hightail it out of here," Wynuigi adds.

Blowser gets up and glares at all of you

"You may have bested me today," Blower says, "but it's only a matter of time before I get bored and decide to do this all over again! And when that day comes, you'll be quivering in your moustaches!"

With that, he marches out of the chamber and disappears out of sight.

    How do you proceed?

    > Chase after him
    > Talk to the others

    ‡ Round 45 ‡

As the spotlights remain fixed on the illusory Dragonite, you swoop a little lower. The Park Director Sketches a bunch of RageCandyBars that he tosses down into the prison yard. Brigitte, meanwhile, releases a bombardment of Presents that tumble downward as well. You watch as the guards below congregate toward where all the goodies have been dropped. They look town between bewilderment and childish enthusiasm.

You then touch down in the prison guard a good distance from the chipper guards. Under cover of rain and darkness, you scope out the nearest entrance to the fortress. You see two guards who have not been drawn away from their posts by RageCandyBars and Presents.

Chopin emerges from his Pokeball and conjures up a Substitute. He then tosses the Substitute so that it's in plain sight of the Sandslash guards. They scurry after it, abandoning their posts.

With your entry now unhampered, you slip inside through the large doors. You find yourself in a stone corridor without any guards. You see another corridor branching off to the left as well as a doorway leading to a set of stairs. You can take the stairs upward to the floors above or downward deep into the prison.
