O_O... I would soooo be in on this if I wasn't in four battles. xD
This is going to be an interesting experiment, but I won't tell you anything about the battle until I get the volunteers I need.
Well, I'll tell you one thing: you won't need any of your pokemon for this one.
-Grey
O_O... I would soooo be in on this if I wasn't in four battles. xD
Me too
It sounds very intresting, I`ll atleast be watching it.
Eh, I got a slot open, I guess I can volunteer for this Grey![]()
Oslo's in.
Don't worry, Chaos, I'll make it even for the both of 'yas.
Alright, I told you guys you wouldn't be using your pokemon. I know you probably thought I meant that you'd be getting into fisticuffs amongst one another, but that's not for this battle.
What I'm proposing is a very secretive battle amongst the both of you. If you've seen my Vs. Seeker page, you'll notice that every pokemon on my battle team (aside from those on my elite team) have as little information as possible brought up. No abilities or move tutors are listed for them.
I'm gonna PM you a squad of six of my pokemon, including their abilities, move tutors, etc., and you're going to use them in battle.
However, your opponent won't know anything about this pokemon (aside from species) unless they battle.
For example: Perfect Chaos uses Caucus, my breloom. Oslo won't know what ability he'll have at all until it becomes activated. So if Oslo tries to poison Caucus, his ability (@Poison Heal) will be activated and reveal itself.
The same is true for move tutors. Some of the pokemon you'll be using will have access to move tutor moves -- only the battler and me will know them, though.
So, yeah, if you have any questions, lemme know...
I think I explained that pretty well.
-Grey
Am I allowed to seek out the missing information? Or is there a gentleman's agreement?
Gentleman's agreement, pls. Don't ruin the game, Os.![]()
-Grey
No worries! No cheating for Oslo. (That said, I've reffed/spectated about a thousand of Grey's battles and I've played against him thrice, so you cannot hold it against me if there are some things I remember!)
Anyway, I scored a pretty friggin' awesome squad. Who releases?
Just PM me which one you'd like to use first, and then I'll flip a coin to decide who gets to attack first.

HIDDEN BATTLE!
PERFECT CHAOS v. OSLO
6-on-6
ARENA
The Pillars of Heaven and Hell
A desolate, dry wasteland that extends for miles. On either side of the arena are two pillars -- one that heals you, and one that slowly drains the life out of you. Destroying your opponent's pillars means two things: you drain their health faster, and you recover your own. These four pillars have their own HP (which is up to ref discretion), and can be destroyed by powerful attacks. Because the arena is so dry, weather changing is impermissible.
ROUND 0
Without knowledge of their opponent's team, Chaos and Oslo enter the field of four pillars, with six rented pokemon sitting inside poke balls on their respective belts. Chaos thumbs each ball carefully before ultimately deciding which to use first. He summons the fourth pokemon on his team -- a lime-colored espeon -- Carbuncle.
Eying the shiny cat creature, Oslo smirks and summons Yuki, a ghostly froslass.
Ref Notes:
~Having lost the coin toss, Oslo attacks first.~
-Grey
Okay, Yuki, start with Thunder Wave followed by Confuse Ray and finish with Fake Te—
Except not, because I totally remember Carbuncle from when Grey challenged my Gym and the little pest has Magic Bounce.
Yuki, let's start strong with a Shadow Ball. Follow with Blizzard and finish with Crunch.
Snatch that which is Snatchable!
Throw up a light-infused barrier before that Shadow Ball hits, then follow up with your own ball of ghostly energy and when it comes in to bite you, slap it away with a hardened tail!
Light Screen ~ Shadow Ball ~ Iron Tail

ROUND ONE
Carbuncle eyes down her opponent for a few seconds before ultimately deciding that a defensive play would be best for the time being, and begins the battle by erecting a protective barrier around herself. Yuki, who was readying a shadow ball, halts the procedure entirely and quickly floats over to her opponent, snatching away the barrier just as it finishes, leaving Carbuncle quite confused. What just happened?
Carbuncle : -6PP // Light Screen activated, -7PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null // Light Screen - 9 actions
At a loss for words, Carbuncle immediately begins creating a sphere of dark energy, and flings it over to Yuki using her pronged tail. The grim shadow ball awkwardly charge through the air before connecting with Yuki's light screen, hindering the damage output greatly. Yuki responds with a maelstrom of ice energy that leaves Carbuncle's digits chilled. It's a nice payoff.
Carbuncle : -6PP, -12HP // -8PP, -6HP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null / Light Screen - 8 actions
Carbuncle gets over her dislike of cold, and stretches out her tail for a few seconds before it shimmers with a steel coat. Physical attacks are the way to go, definitely. She charges madly towards the icy ghost and slams her tail forward, dealing incredible damage. Yuki rolls back to the ground before responding. Dark energy pouring out of her mouth, Yuki sinks her fangs into the fox-cat, returning the favor quite nicely.
Carbuncle : -8PP, -12HP // -6PP, -15HP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null // Light Screen - 7 actions
Ref Notes:
~While Light Screen is in effect, all special attacks used against Team Oslo will deal 50% less damage.~
~Perfect Chaos attacks first.~
-Grey
Hmm damn that wasn't a smart move on my part
We'll be OK Carbuncle, no worries we're still in this.
Start off by making Yuki laugh then follow up by smacking her twice with your hardened tail.
If she tries to protect herself from your attempt to make her laugh, then focus your attacking abilities. If she tries any status shenanigans, reflect them back to her
Tickle ~ Iron Tail ~ Iron Tail
If uses Protect first turn: Sub in Work Up
If uses any status attacks any turn: Sub in Magic Coat
You're doing well, Yuki. Prevent the Tickle by pulling together the smallest Substitute you can create. Then, making sure to attack second, use two Paybacks.

ROUND TWO
Carbuncle, upon hearing her orders, gives her faux-trainer a confused look before ultimately going with it. She comes up to Yuki and uses her tail to start tickling the ghost... albeit, Yuki doesn't seem to be amused at all by the guard-lowering tactic! In fact, Yuki seems... dull and lifeless. Seriously, what's going on!?
Carbuncle : -2PP // Sub: 5HP, -5HP, -5PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null // Light Screen - 6 actions
Carbuncle, quite frustrated, ends the doll's existance with a nice iron tail, just before Yuki enacts her dark revenge. The icey ghost pokemon retaliates with a serious of furious punches and... more punches.
Carbuncle : -8PP, -15HP // Sub: 0HP, -5PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null / Light Screen - 5 actions
Realizing that she's been assaulting a facade all this time, Carbuncle angrily fires back with another iron tail!, fueling Yuki's retalitory spirit even moreso. Yuki once more attacks with a flurry of dark punches. It's not pretty.
Carbuncle : -8PP, -15HP // -5PP, -15HP : Yuki

I'm wondering if I should post attacks or not since Oslo's already posted in the Absence Tower that he's taking a month and a half long hiatus. What's your opinion Grey?
EDIT: Well I guess I'll post up my attacks since you can at least ref this round
Strut yourself around to piss off Yuki then copy the boosts and finish off with a powered up tail slam

I vote that we put this battle on hold until Oslo comes back in August, aye?
-Grey
I agree with you, but my other two battles with Chobi and Crystal have also stalled out and I dunno if either of them are coming back. Plus Oslo was reffing my battle with Gigya, so we need a sub-ref for that to continue, or else I'm grid-locked in battles![]()
Was this DQ'd? If not, it can continue. If so, c'est la vie and my apologies.
Nope one of us is going to kick the other's ass in this battle![]()

ROUND THREE
After a long hiatus, both pokémon tighten their bootstraps and return to the battle at hand! Carbuncle begins the round by taunting Yuki with her swag. You don't need to win battles if you've got swag, right Carb? Yuki feels frustrated by the chain of events, and fires back with a swift shadow ball!
Carbuncle : -2PP, -12HP // -6PP, Angry : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null // Light Screen - 3 actions
Feeling sneaky, Carbuncle decides to copy the boosts she gave to Yuki... if Yuki even had any. The ghostly ice golem continues her angry fight by shifting a heavy blizzard over to the psychic cat.
Carbuncle : -5PP, -12HP // -8PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
null / Light Screen - 2 actions
Not frustrated on her own, Carbuncle decides to attack physically, slamming her sword-like tail into Yuki's ethereal frame, dealing incredible damage. The ghostly pokémon cries out, but responds in turn with a signal beam. Her anger subsides after she sees the poor condition her rival is in.
Carbuncle : -8PP, -11HP // -4PP, -15HP : Yuki

Not where I expected to be at this point
Hide yourself underground Carbuncle, then when the opportunity arises jump out and surprise her with one last, mighty strike!
Dig (down) ~ Dig (up)+Last Resort
Last Resort on a Ghost-type?
Let's go with Spikes, Spikes, Crunch.

ROUND FOUR
Sensing her end, Carbuncle furiously burrows underground to keep safe. Yuki, however, pays the cat no mind and instead begins littering the arena floor with a nasty series of spikes as her light screen flickers into nothingness.
Carbuncle : -3PP, Underground // -3PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell

Yuki continues to lay down spikes as Carbuncle leaps from her safe spot underground and pounces upon Yuki. The energy from her last resort, however, goes unnoticed...
Carbuncle : -All PP // -3PP, -8HP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
Spikes - 2 layers // null
Carbuncle slumps down in exhaustion, giving Yuki an easy target to shadow ball. The grim sphere of faded energy is formed and then thrown at Carbuncle, ending her easily.

ROUND FIVE
The first casualty of battle (even before any of the pillars) is recalled and replaced by Greyfox's blue double-starfish, Libra, who nearly trips over the several spikes littering the arena floor. Libra cackles out with a masculine voice (despite its lack of gender) and begins its tenure with a powerful blast of steel energy. The energy collides fiercely into Yuki, knocking the ghost back. She cries out milliseconds later, but ultimately keeps her cool by firing off a nasty secret power.
Libra : -6HP, -6PP, -7HP // -5PP, -12HP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
Spikes - 2 layers // null
Not playing around, Libra keeps to its position and lifts Yuki high into the air. The ghost squirms and attempts to break free from the psychic grip, but the fresh pokémon doesn't let up, favoring instead to slam Yuki into the ground. Yuki shrivels up, but ultimately pulls herself together long enough to shoot her body into Libra.
Libra : -4PP, -8HP // -6PP, -9HP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell
Spikes - 2 layers // null
Libra wastes no more time and fires off a second nasty blast if steel energy, hitting Yuki easily. The ghost braced herself, and comes back with a fiery vengeance by snapping her fangs into Libra, dealing much more damage!

Rapid Spin ~ Psychic ~ Psychic
If she tries using Destiny Bond/Disable/any combo attacks: Sub in Protect for first turn and Psychic for remaining actions.
Disable.
Then, I recall Yuki. I send out Zyuu the male Tyranitar.
Now that we have an even type match-up, I will have Zyuu start with Taunt.
I'm sorry...ever type matchup?
Water/Psychic vs Ice/Ghost? Then a swap to Rock/Dark? I'm not seeing the eveness? Could be cause I'm still drunk...

Ice/Ghost has the advantage over Water/Psychic since I have a super effective STAB and my opponent does not. Tyranitar is a more even pairing for a Starmie because Water has the advantage against Rock and Dark has the advantage over Psychic. In this case, we both have super effective STABs.

Yuki keeps her eyes on Libra, who immediately begins spinning and spinning. However, as soon as the starfish spots Yuki snapping her disabling fingers, Libra halts the spin in favor of a protective barrier, keeping her safe.
Libra : -5PP, Protected // -3PP : Yuki
Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell // Heaven - 40HP 40HP - Hell

Yuki is quickly recalled by Team Oslo and Zyuu is called out in her stead. Libra shrugs it off and fires off a blast of mental energy. Zyuu just shrugs it off though...
