Round Twenty-Five



You point at the path, and therefore the Victini on the right. Both Victini starts jumping up and down in joy, but make no noises. Mimedalf nods and teleports away, taking all of the props with him as he goes. Left Victini takes a few steps back, and allows right Victini to take centre stage. It does a little dance to which you applaud, but its silence is a little off putting.

From the sides of your vision, you see a few more pokemon have found their way into the grand hall.

A Voltorb, an Eevee and a Smoochum are taking seats to see what's happening.

Vigilance's burn also seems to be fading away, so you don't have to worry about finding a Burn Heal.

Round Twenty-Six


Victini's eyes drop, I guess he's been found out. In an act of classic theatre, he drops a smoke bomb on the floor in front of him. You cough and wave at the smoke to clear it from your vision, and find that the Victini has vanished form the front of the stage. In it's place is a bright blue blob of squirming gel. Or something.



The Ditto twists around, as if it's stretching itself out after a long transformation. Then it goes through a couple of transformers in quick succession to show I guess?

A trophy. A vase of flowers. A NES controller. A cup of tea.

Then it turns into two pokemon you recognise from before.



Finally it turns back into Ditto, and the crowd of watching pokemon break into applause. Wow, this guy's got some moves.

Round Twenty-Six



You're impressed by Ditto, that's obvious and challenge it to a battle. But first, you ask what the deal is with the other Victini. Ditto shrugs, or does something wobbly that looks like it could be a shrug, and turns to look at the little pokemon. Victini giggles, skips around a little bit and then throws you a V Peace Sign with his tiny claws. A burst of fire surrounds him, and he launches himself up to the rafters, before bursting through the roof and shooting off somewhere.

Wow that was.. holy crap a shiny Virizon!?



No wait, Elegance is where you left her (him?), this Virizon is on stage parading back and forth to cheers from the audience. The choice now, is who to focus on.

Round Twenty-Seven




You send Elegance to make small talk with the shiny clone. Ditto has vanished, or has it? Elegance isn't convinced by the overly pink version of itself, something just doesn't smell right. Your own Virizion makes off and growls, whilst the shiny copy pokes its tongue out and blows a very un-legendary like raspberry. It leaps backwards, and several shiny swords appear around its body, before spinning around it at such a high speed that it blurs the pokemon's body from sight. They begin to fade when a flurry of coloured leaves shot out of the whirlwind, striking Elegance in several places as they strike its body. When the hurricane fades, the pink Virizon has vanished, replaced instead by a shiny Pidgeot, which flaps its wings quickly, sending a shockwave of hardened wind energy that slashes hard across Elegance's chest.

- Scream like a girl and run away?

Yeah, time to rumble. Darwin, center stage. Sing first. Vigil and Elle, block out the serenade.

If its still awake, I want a Stomp from Darwin, an Air slash from Vig and Elle, you wait. So if it protects, you hit it after that drops with a Secret Sword.

Round Twenty-Eight




Darwin stomps up to centre stage, and with one clawed hand on her chest, begins to sing. Now, most people wouldn't expect much of a tune from a pokemon that looks weathered and wild as Kangaskhan do, but then you have to remember that she's a mother. And there's one things mothers excel at, and it's singing others to sleep. Vigilance and Elegance do their best to block out the sound, and Darwin focuses all her motherly love on the shiny Pidgeot tapping its way along the stage. The false bird begins to bob its head, before it slowly falls into a sleepy hump of feathers on the wooden floor. Darwin finishes her song and looks around. All the pokemon nearby have also fallen asleep, but so too has Elegance. Vigilence has managed to stay away by stuffing her wings as far into her ears as she can without risking brain damage. You don't feel all that perky yourself, and make a mental note to pick up a Triple Shot Mocha from Omastarbucks later on.

You take an Ultra Ball from your belt, and toss it at the sleeping pokemon. Pidgeot's form is sucked inside, and the ball rolls around on the stage a little. Fingers crossed, you wait for what feels like hours as the ball fidgets and wobbles. Finally... click! It seems that the lullaby that was sung put Ditto into the deepest of sleepy, and it had no reason to fight against the ball capturing it. Lucky! As the Ultra Ball is teleported back to the desk, you ponder your next move.

You try to gently wake Elegance, but the pokemon is deep in slumber. You find you have to resort to more rigourous shaking, but still nothing. Grumbling, you have Vigilance start an uproar, which immediately wakes the legendary pokemon, along with every other pokemon nearby. You stick around for a bit so everyone can regain their health, before it's time to go.

Round Thirty-One

Elegance blinks. Well I was expecting a bit more shock, but that's good enough I guess. The legendary closes his eyes and thinks for a moment, perhaps connecting his mind to his brothers out in the wild. His eyes tighten more, and a growl escapes his otherwise collected demeanour. His eye open, and there is a look of anger, terror and sadness in his gaze.

"My wise brother with an iron will is in the land of the sun, where the heat causes the eye to see that which is not there. I see not him but his shadow only, he is surrounded by death.

My fierce brother with a stone heart faces that which burns hotter than his own rage. He seeks to calm its increasing anger, but it cannot be done with brute force alone."

Round Thirty-Two

Deciding on the Nevshard Badlands as your next port of call, you and your team leave the Abandoned Playhouse and head outside. You recall Elegance and Darwin for the moment, hop on Vigilance's back and fly off to the badlands that lie on the furthest edge of the Ivy Woods. Greenery beneath you quickly fades to dull earth, before a harsh heat strikes you like a wall. Vigilence circles, before descending and landing. You get off, call your two pokemon back out and survey the area before you.


Nevshard Badlands
A terribly hot, sweltering desert with few places for shade. Illusions are commonplace here-and the scent of inevitable dehydration hangs high here. Yet Hardy Pokemon worked out a way to survive in this climate-despite the horrid lack of water.

There is an outcropping or rocks nearby, and a few dead looking trees, but nothing else. The horizon wobbles in the heat, and you praise the wide brimmed hat you decided to wear. You spot a few pokemon frantically digging a hole in the ground.



Underneath one of the trees is another pokemon, eyes closed tight, holding some broken branches over its head trying desperately to stay still. It occasionally opens its eyes, looks around then screws them up again in a panic.

Round One

After handing over P$10 at the counter and taking your five Pokeballs, a chubby Drowzee; who appears to be filling in for Abra; teleports you to Sunshine Fields. The lush green plains are open and ready to be explored. Drowzee, clearly not happy about the prospect of breathing clean air, vanishes back to the Safari Zone gates. IN the meantime, your pokemon are already soaking up the sun and the atmosphere, and you take the chance to have a proper look around. In the distance you can just make out a lightly coloured set of rocks, but nothing more than the basic outline of it.

Three pokemon are flying by overhead.





Nearby, two more pokemon are rolling around in the grass, play wrestling with each other.

Sunshine Fields

Round Two

Instead of going off pokemon hunting right away, you decide to chill out in the sun with your team a little bit. Taco is most at ease, the fresh grass, clean soil and warm sun are the perfect conditions any young grass type needs to grow strong. Curious George lives up to her name, gleefully picking wild flowers, blowing the petals and watching them swirl off on the breeze. Blazer stands tall and proud, not succumbing to childish glee, but still stands with his face up to the sun, basking in the warmth and enjoying the cool air. As you watch your team, a gentle tune fills the air. It's peaceful and calming, and you look to see its source.



A Sunkern is whistling down a rolled up leaf, whilst a Kricketot is rocking its head so its antenna chime in tune. Between them, a Cherubi is making short sounds, that aren't quite words, but it's singing nonetheless. Other pokemon have caught wind of the music, and come by to listen to the melody.

You approach the two bird pokemon and introduce yourself and your pokemon.

"Hai!" the Starly says enthusiastically "You come to listen to music too!?"

Nodding, the Starly closes its eyes and starts bobbing back and forth with the tune. The Pidove is a bit more subdued and a bit more chatty.

"Hello, we don't get many people coming here." Pidove says "Most trainer go to the more rustic areas to search for pokemon, so it's a bit of a surprise to see you here."

"Hae! Music! Starly says, in some kind of rude gesture to make you shush.

"Don't mind him, he's just excitable. Are you looking for something in particular?"

Round Thirty-Three



As you walk over to the three digging pokemon, the Diglett spots you. It lets out a high pitched screech, then vanishes underground. At the same time, the Sandshrew and the Cacnea both throw themselves at the ground too, but neither has dug a sufficiently big enough hole to vanish into completley, leaving both with their backsides poking out.

"Um, hello?" you try

"Pff mfftr hmmmn.. we dnnt mnnn anny hrrmm.. ppfff dnn hrrr uuu" comes the muffled and panicked reply.

Darwin grabs the Sandshrew's wriggling tail and plucks it out of the ground.

"Ahh! Please don't hurt me!" the upside-down Sandshrew begs "We're sorry for digging here, we didn't mean anything by it! Just don't take us to the pit!"

Round Thirty-Four



Darwin splonks the Sandshrew down on the floor, and you direct your questions at the Sandshrew.

"Sword Master Virizion!" the Sandshrew squeals at the sudden sight of the legendary pokemon "Guys, get out here, another Sword Master has come!"

The Diglett pops out of the ground at your feet, and the Cacnea jumps out of its hole to join you.

"Master Vrizion, your brother Cobalion came here to help us!" Diglett chirped "But we haven't seen him for some time now!"

"He went to the pit!" Cacnea wailed "Nobody comes back from the pit!"

"Wait, what pit?!" you ask. The three pokemon look terrified of you. They glance from you to Elegance, who nods and they carefully answer your question.

"The pit is where all the pokemon are being taken." Sandshrew explains "Ghosts come and any pokemon they find is taken to the pit."

"The ghosts all listen to the human who came here!" Diglett continues "We thought she was here to explore and make new friends, but all she wants to do is dig! She wont dig herself, so she makes the pokemon that live here do it for her!"

"Master Cobalion went to get the pokemon back and stop her! We saw him fighting some ghosts and then.. then he was gone! A shadow moves across the badlands during the day, and anyone who crosses paths with it becomes frozen with fear!"

Round Four



"Birds and grass types huh?" Pidove says "Yeah, I think I can help you out there. Just a sec.."

Pidove hops over to the Sunkern and speaks to the seedling quietly. The Sunkern nods its head without breaking off the music. Pidove hops back over and flutters up onto your shoulder.

"Sorry about that. I've just asked the Colonel to keep an eye on my buddy. He's not the brightest spark, but music keeps him happy so he'll be okay there. So, birds and grass types huh? Well you've come to the right place, there are plenty of both in Sunshine fields. You see that pointy rock up ahead?"

Pidove motions north with his wing and you see the rocky outcropping form earlier.

"That's where most of the birds nests, they're lots of different families there, the rocks are full of nooks and crannies so perfect for setting up a little home. There's probably a few hardy grass types there too, but most of them you'll find in this direction.."

Pidove points just south-west of your position. You turn around and see a mound of dirt and the grass around it seems a little taller and a darker green.

"The grass gets really tall there, and grass types love to get in amongst it all. The floor is a bit uneven so I'm told, so be careful where you're walking. Or you could just wander around the field some more. There are loads of pokemon just out enjoying the sun."

"So, where are you heading?"

Round Five



"You want me to come with you? Uh, well okay, but lets not be too long I don't want to leave Stan alone for too long."

You look down at the Starly who is still bopping to the music. You nod in agreement and go to release taco, only to remember that your pokemon have been by your side since you entered the Safari Zone. Blazer grunts, his proud and honourable version of a face palm moment no doubt. You head towards the rocky area with your pokemon, and Pidove perched on your shoulder. It's only a short walk, but it seems longer since you're going up hill. Finally, you reach the mound of rocks.

It's a lot bigger than you though, and is too high for you to see the very top middle. Light grey and brown rocks jut out at several different angles, some covered in moss and lichen, others with plants growing up and over them. On almost all of them, there is a nest of some kind hanging or built onto the rock face.


You look up and see two chicks poking their heads out of a nest, waiting patiently for their mother to get back.



Atop one of the higher rocks, you spot another flapping its wings energetically, but not flying off.



A grass type is doing tiny hops in a nearby patch of dirt, attempting to cover itself in dust.

Round Thirty-Five



"The shadow moves around the Badlands by day." Sandshrew thinks hard "I guess it could be around at night too, but... it's been so dark these past few nights that it's hard to see much at all. Since the ghosts came, the night sky is always cloudy, you can't see the stars or the moon, so it's easy to get lost if you normally use them to find your way."

"The shadow moves fast," Diglett continues "it darts around the desert like it's searching for something. If you approach it, then it surrounds you, and it feels like it's putting a pressure on you that you can't escape. You can't fight back, because there's nothing to hit. You just endure the pressure until it becomes too much, and then..." Diglett makes a terrified meep and drops into his hole, before poking his head out just a little bit.

"I found Diddy unconscious in the middle of the desert yesterday and brought him here to the outskirts." Cacnea explains, gently patting the little ground type on the head "we've been trying to dig a cave that we can hide in, but the ground here is so hard we're not making any progress. I figured the ghosts wouldn't come out this far because we're bordering on more inhabited areas, but I saw some scary men last night who were with the ghosts. They were talking about a mouse."

"Sword Master Virizon?" Diddy the Diglett asks "Will you help us?"

You take a step back and decide to let Elegance take the lead here.



"You have my solemn vow." Elegance began "That I..." he looks back at you, Darwin and Vigilance, then back to the pokemon "That we, will lend you our aid."

"Thank you Swords Master!" Diddy squeals with so much joy you can only imagine he's wet himself with excitement. Ew. Maybe not imagine it that much next time.

"Tell me of my brother Cobalion. Where was he last seen? Can you point us in the direction?"

Sandshrew and Cacnea exchange glances, before Cacnea hops around and points in a direction that leads much further into the desert.

"He went that way, but he ran quite fast so I don't know how far he got." Cacnea said "But I heard he was last spotted near the Hot Gates where the valley dips down into the canyon."

"The shadow has been spotted there!" Sandshrew says quickly "You should be careful!"

"Thank you children, now dig your hide out, and stay safe." Elegance says "We will resolve this issue, myself, my companions and my honourable trainer."

Round Six



Recalling Blazer and Curious George, you, Taco and Pidove walk around to the base of the stones below Pidgeotto. Up above you watch the pokemon flapping its wings energetically, but never lifting more than a few inches off the rock.

"I don't think she's going to come down here any time soon." Pidove says "Have you got any ideas as to how you're getting up there? Because I can't fly you up."

You look around at the rocks and see a few different things. One side of is leaning slightly towards you, but has several metal pins stuck in it. Another is covered in lichen and has a bit of ivy growing up it. Another appears to be littered with pock marks and holes.

Elegance motions to leave, clearly eager to search for his wayward brother, but you remain to ask one more question of the desert pokemon.

"What was she like? Um. I'm not really an expert in human psychology." Sandshrew said.

"Ooh!" Diddy said, popping out of his hole "She kept talking to herself, but she would turn to one side and talk into thin air, like there was someone standing next to her!"

"She was very dark but kinda fancy." Cacnea added "She wasn't dressed for the desert, she looked like she had come straight from Grave's Yard or the Playhouse."
