Chaos Redefined vs Asilynne (Ref: DL)

So, as people may have heard, I'm working on becoming a gym leader. And for that, I will need an arena. As stands, I'm using The Darkness Arena, where the battler's PM their actions to the ref, leaving their opponent in the dark.

So, The Darkness Arena was not my first idea. It was actually my second. I want to revisit my first. Of course, if I get about as much interest as I did last time, then I'll pass on this idea, and just use The Darkness Arena.

I (re-)introduce The Gambler's Arena. The arena is surrounded with large dice and cards for hiding behind/throwing at people/etc... But the fundamental change is the fact that you have to gamble each round. Suppose that player A would post moves, then player B. Instead the following happens:

Player A posts an amount of damage (X).
Player B posts HIGH or LOW, and an amount of damage (Y).
Player A posts HIGH or LOW, and his/her moves for the round.
Player B posts his/her moves for the round.
Ref posts.

Then the following happens:

Complicated, thorough version:

If Player A's pokemon took Y damage or more:
If A posted "HIGH", then the damage dealt to A's pokemon is negated, and B's pokemon takes Y damage.
If A posted "LOW", then the damage dealt to A's pokemon is negated, and A's pokemon takes Y damage instead

If Player A's pokemon took less than Y damage:
If A posted "HIGH", then the damage dealt to A's pokemon is negated, and A's pokemon takes Y damage instead.
If A posted "LOW", then the damage dealt to A's pokemon is negated, and B's pokemon takes Y damage.

If Player B's pokemon took X damage or more:
If B posted "HIGH", then the damage dealt to B's pokemon is negated, and A's pokemon takes X damage.
If B posted "LOW", then the damage dealt to B's pokemon is negated, and B's pokemon takes X damage instead

If Player B's pokemon took less than X damage:
If B posted "HIGH", then the damage dealt to B's pokemon is negated, and B's pokemon takes Y damage instead.
If B posted "LOW", then the damage dealt to B's pokemon is negated, and A's pokemon takes Y damage.

Simple version:
All damage is negated. Then, if the amount of damage dealt to a pokemon is higher than the claim and they guessed high, or the damage was lower than the claim and they guessed low, then the other pokemon takes damage. If they guessed wrong, they take damage. The ref will figure out how much damage by the complicated stuff above this. But, if you constantly guess right, and I constantly guess wrong, then you will end up thrashing me and all will be good. For you, at least. I won't like it.

It's a weird arena, so I suspect I'll get some questions. Feel free to ask them

When a battler does turn up, it's a 3v3 battle. You can send first, so that I can make things clear as we go.

Which is one reason to go with the Darkness arena over this one...

For the record, both have problems, but this one has problems in comprehension. Weird interaction-wise, I believe it's fine. On the other hand, I have a potential fix for the darkness arena, but I want to talk to you about it. So, get on msn at some stage?

(Oh. Sorry to tack this on so late to the rest of it, but since this isn't a gym battle, the numbers stated must be <= 40, since 40 is the default damage cap)
