    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Sunshine Fields
A large rolling plain that overlooks TPML, the grass is soft and the air tasty. A plethora of grass Pokemon are found here as they enjoy the tickling breeze and the bright sunshine. Bird and normal-types are also found here. Far to the north, a small rocky outcropping exists.

    ‡ Round 116 ‡

Warfare persists on all sides as you continue your skirmish with Lady Bethany. The regal Linoone fires off a milky-white beam of energy that leaves Sandy feeling a little Simple-minded, but your Druddigon does not back down. She whips her tail around with enough strength to Smash Rocks and ends up tossing Lady Bethany a good fifteen feet away into a kerfuffle of Zigzagoons and Taillows who are eagerly flinging attacks at one another. She emerges, however, and triumphantly Headbutts Sandy right in the gut without scoring Rough Skin damage in the process. Sandy's body suddenly goes rigid with Paralysis.

"I am far too powerful for you, Druddigon!" Lady Bethany howls as she whips up a freezing Blizzard. The ice and snow pile upon Druddigon and do tremendous damage, but not enough to prevent Sandy's forthcoming Revenge attack. Your thistly Dragon emerges from the wintery heap and ploughs into Lady Bethany with a body-check. Lady Bethany skids backwards and hisses. This isn't over yet.

As this goes on, you search the vicinity for any sign of your possessions. You're sure they didn't go too far, but with all this commotion it's difficult for you to determine where they went.

    How do you proceed?

"Hows about we bring you back down to our level, then?"

Sandy, use Glare until you succeed, then toxic, and then use Revenge.

    ‡ Round 117 ‡

Lady Bethany peers around and sees that the Taillows are doing an excellent job of repelling her minions. Appearing eager to speed things along, she shoots another Blizzard at Sandy and once again envelops your Druddigon in heaps of snow. Sandy gives a shake and her crimson head emerges from the pile, giving her a clear line of sight. Her eyes gleam ruby-red and transfix Lady Bethany with fear: the Linoone lets out a yelp as her entire body goes rigid with Paralysis. Sandy's body suddenly does the same.

You watch with bated breaths as the two Pokemon stare one another down, waiting for their bodies to become mobile again. Before either one can move, two familiar Zigzagoons emerge from the chaos surrounding you. You recognize them as Frankie and Tito from Ffeffni Mountain.

You see that they're holding your Pokeballs and Ultra Balls in their paws.

"Don't worry, Lady Bethany!" Frankie exclaims. "We'll finish this Pokemon trainer guy off for you... using his own Pokemon, no less!"

The two Zigzagoons laugh maniacally as they give your Pokeballs a toss and summon Veronica and Sandy to the field.

"Okay, Jolteon... hit that Druddigon with a Pin Missile!" Frankie shouts.

"Rapidash, hit her with a Fire Spin!" Tito shouts.

Veronica and Catherine exchange bewildered looks. They don't move a muscle.

"Er... what are we doing wrong?" Frankie asks.

"Yeah, I thought we were just supposed to release the Pokemon and they'd obey us," Tito says. "Isn't that how it works?"

"Yes... if you're their Pokemon trainer!" Lady Bethany screeches as her Paralysis abates. "You idiots! You just gave this guy two of his Pokemon!"

"Oh," Frankie says sheepishly. "Well, that was dumb."

"Ehehe, yeah, sorry about that, m'lady," Tito adds.

Lady Bethany shoves past her underlings and overwhelms Sandy with another Blizzard just as your Druddigon goes for another Revenge. She slams her tail against Lady Bethany until both Pokemon start looking weak and weary. Meanwhile, Veronica and Catherine turn to you, awaiting commands.

Veronica, use heal bell to heal Sandy's Paralysis.

Catherine, if any Ice type attacks come along, counter them with Heat Waves aplenty.

I want to finish her with Sandy, because she's been kicked around by zigzagoon and their ice attacks for too long, but you guys can pop in with Fire Blasts and Thunders to stop incoming attacks if necessary.

Alright, sandy. Finish her off. Use rock smash, then Superpower twice!

Continue with the Outrage, them use Frustration to take out your confusion on Garchomp. Finish with a Dragon Claw.

    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Platrin Plateau
A strange, mysterious temple set high in the sky. Here, you will find exceptionally strong Pokemon in the various rooms and spaces of this ancient land set high in the sky. If you are lucky, you may stumble on a Legend or two?

    ‡ Round 217 ‡

    Bam! Pow! Kersplot!

    (Kersplot?)

The two Pokemon exchange a series of powerful blows: Sabaku deals various melee strikes while Garchomp, on the other hand, keeps things nice and simple with two Dragon Pulses and an Iron Head. When all is said and done, both Pokemon seem to be circling the drain.

    ‡ Round 118 ‡

A ringing noise fills the air as Veronica steps in to help her ally. Suddenly, Sandy's woes are washed away and her Paralysis dissipates. Sandy hits up her opponent with a not-especially-damage-heavy Rock Smash as Veronica and Catherine are tackled to the ground by Frankie and Tito who start Headbutting your Pokemon furiously. Sandy now strikes Lady Bethany with a Superpowered physical blow, but Lady Bethany merely ends your Druddigon with a swift and effective Ice Beam. Since Veronica and Catherine are incapacitated, they're unable to block the hit. Sandy falls.

Lady Bethany starts cackling furiously but then Paralysis sinks in again and she's forced to go stiff as a board. How embarrassing!

Don't worry, Sandy, you'll have your revenge soon enough. *returns sandy*

Veronica, catherine, shake them off and use Double team (if it ends up being difficult to shake them off, Veronica use thunderbolt and Catherine use Flamethrower)

Now, go for Bethany with a thunderbolt and flamethrower.
Then go for her goons with thunder and fire blast.

    ‡ Round 119 ‡

Since you never reclaimed your possessions from Frankie and Tito, you find yourself unable to recall Sandy. Nonetheless, you issue commands to your two remaining Pokemon and get them to shake off their assailants before Double Teaming. Suddenly, your surroundings are all but spilling over with Jolteon and Rapidash clones. Your three Zigzagoon opponents get to work, attacking with Seed Bomb, Pin Missile and Shadow Ball respectively. Veronica loses one clone while Catherine loses two.

Veronica suddenly starts popping and sparking with electric current and roasts Lady Bethany with a lively Thunderbolt. Just like that, the regal raccoon slumps over in defeat. With that threat eliminated, Catherine turns her attention to Tito and attacks with a powerful Fire Blast. He's struck and his tail bursts into flames.

"Yowch!" Tito exclaims as he outs his tail against the ground. You see he's been Burned. "Oh, you're going to regret that!"

"Not to mention what you did to Lady Bethany!" Frankie adds in a low growl.

Both Zigzagoons begin generating a little Electric-type power of their own. Shock Waves dart across the field and strike the real Veronica and Catherine, eliminating the clones. OH AND VERONICA HAS VOLT ABSORB SO YEAH HEALING. All four battlers then execute more moves: a Thunder, a Fire Blast, a Blizzard and a Gunk Shot whip around through the air and, once the dust has settled, you see that Catherine has been Poisoned.

You look around and see that the Taillows and coloured Zigzagoons have all but wiped out Lady Bethany's forces. This skirmish won't last much longer.

hmmmm? Veronica got hit with a shock wave, which is an Electric type move? Shouldn't she have been healed by that? or did I read that wrong? (note veronica's ability)

Frankie, Tito, your leader is down, and your army is all but defeated. You may as well surrender now.

Veronica, use heal bell, then use thunder wave to paralyze tito. Then use thunder on Frankie.

Catherine, use an onslaught of heat waves to damage them both. Also, contain it to just the two of them so we don't get any more friendly fire, please.

    ‡ Round 120 ‡

Though appeals to reason don't often work in the Safari Zone, you appear to have struck a chord. Frankie and Tito look around and see that the Taillows have nearly vanquished the last of the Ffeffni critters. Suddenly, Lady Bethany stirs, though she doesn't seem to have much fight left in her. She too sees that her forces are failing.

"You vile, nasty human... don't let this victory go to your head," she hisses weakly. "Zigzagoons of Ffeffni Mountain! We retreat!"

With the command issued, you watch as the Zigzagoons begin to depart. You pick your possessions up off the ground as cheers erupt around you. Lord Félix is doing joyous barrel rolls in the air.

"Yes, you 'ad better vamoose! 'Einous Pigzagoons!" he squeals delightedly.

Georgette, Hadley and Jackson emerge from the Pokemon around you. The first two have dark circles under their eyes while the third looks positively depleted. He can barely hold himself upright.

"We did it!" Hadley says. "We fought them off! We won!"

Meanwhile, Jackson breaks into a coughing fit.

No time for celebrations. We need to get back to the colony and try to fix that fountain.

Thank you lord Felix. We couldn't have done it without you and your army. If you have any further way to help with fixing the fountain, that would be much appreciated.

    ‡ Round 121 ‡

Rather than celebrating, you decide to return to the colony. However, before you can take a single step, Lord Félix stops what he's doing and turns to address his troops.

"You 'ave fought admirably, my lovely Taillows, but zere is no time for felicitations!" he declares. "Operation 401-x continues! Ze next phase begins... now!"

The Taillows, whose numbers have hardly dwindled since the battle began, all nod in unison. Suddenly, with a series of eager shrieks, they swoop downward upon you and your allies. You watch as they unload a bevy of Air Slash attacks upon the remaining coloured Zigzagoons. Right before your eyes, Georgette, Hadley and Jackson are struck again and again and again until they succumb. They slump over, defeated. The other coloured Zigzagoons soon follow suit.

A cluster of Taillows then veer toward you and your Pokemon. They form a tight circle around you, Veronica, Sandy and Catherine.

Yay for having to write excessively long exposition in a phonetic French accent. T__T

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    ‡ Round 122 ‡

You demand an explanation from Lord Félix. He seems thrilled that you even asked.

"So, you figured you could rely on ze legendary gratitude of my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer's descendants to save you from your troubles? Pffsh!" Lord Félix inquires. "Yes, pffsh! Zat story I told you earlier about 'Ector and my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer? I was leading you on! Eet eez all 'ogwash! Ze Zigzagoons of Sunshine Fields may want to remember zeir origins zat way, but zat is not what 'appened! A Swellow, lost in eez own woods? 'Oo could not fight off a bunch of Victreebels despite a type advantage? C'est ridicule! En fait, eet was ze other way around! Félix R. Swellow was ze one 'oo actually saved 'Ector K. Linoone from zose 'ungry plants! Yes, eet is true!"

"No, it's not!" Georgette objects weakly, nursing her injuries. "I'm an advisor for the colony, I've read all the historical documents... Hector K. Linoone really did save Félix R. Swellow! That is objective fact!"

"Lies!" Lord Félix rages. "All lies! When Latias and Latios arrived at ze scene, 'Ector started spinning a tall-tale about saving ze very Pokemon 'oo saved him! And so 'Ector was rewarded with ze Soul Dew while my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer, 'oo truly deserved it, got nozzing at all! So what did Félix R. Swellow do? 'E swore revenge against Latias and Latios and ze Zigzagoons, of course! 'E figured if 'e could some'ow defeat Latias and Latios, ze Soul Dew would lose eets power and ze injustice would be fixed! So 'e purchased a magical, transformative spell from a Zorua warlock to use against ze Eon Pokemon if 'e ever encountered zem again. Of course, Latias and Latios are exceptionally rare... to encounter zem twice een one lifetime eez all but impossible... so he passed ze magical spell down to 'is son, 'oo would finish ze job if 'e ever encountered Latias and Latios! But 'e never did encounter ze Eon Pokemon either, so 'e passed ze spell down to 'is son to finish ze job... 'oo passed eet on to 'is son... and so ze spell was passed down from Félix to Félix for generations!"

"Until you got it?" Hadley asks weakly.

"Yes!" Lord Félix shouts. "And, oh, eet was a magnifique coincidence when I found ze Eon Pokemon! Zey 'ad stopped by Ivy Lake early in ze morning a while ago for a drink before flying onward. My 'eart almost beat eetself out of my chest! I fetched ze spell, used eet and... voila! Zey were transformed into stone! Zose statues you saw? Zey were ze Eon Pokemon zemselves! Impressive, non?"

"So you knew transforming them into stone would cause the Soul Fountain to stop flowing?" Hadley asks. "You... monster... you horrible, evil..."

"Oh, 'ush up, wee girlie Pigzagoon! Eet eez an eye for an eye!" Lord Félix declares. "We 'ave been forced to forage for our own food and live on zat awful cliff while you 'ave been frolicking een what I 'ave 'eard to be a beautiful city under ze ground! Well, we wanted zat city for ourselves and we only needed you to reveal eets whereabouts to us! I zought you would come to us as soon as ze Soul Fountain stopped flowing—what with, you know, our legendary gratitude and all zat! I did not anticipate you would go to Lady Bezzany first. No matter! Eet 'as all worked out in ze end, and so... Taillows! Finish zem off!"

You shield your eyes as Air Slashes and Heat Waves whip through the air in a mad blitz. When you look again, you see that the horde of Taillows have finished off your Pokemon. They lie on the ground unmoving.

"Now, our spoils await! Come, Taillows! Zis way!" Lord Félix shouts.

He and his underlings swoop toward the beech tree that hides the entrance to the colony. They shove aside the fake bush and one by one vanish down the tunnel. You glance around and see masses of weak, coloured Zigzagoons splayed all over the battlefield. They look like they can hardly stand up let alone reclaim their territory.

"Suresh is in there," Georgette moans. "Suresh... and General Cole... and all the other sick Zigzagoons! They can't defend themselves!"

    Hadley looks quietly horrified.

    "Gran," she whispers.

    How do you proceed?

"Hadley, I... I'm so sorry. I honestly had no idea."

Ugh, what am I going to do? I F%#$ed up, here! I could stay here and try to stop felix, but my team isn't in any shape to battle, and we'd be overwhelmed too easily.

But I can't just leave the zigzagoon all defenseless, can I? I could go help latios and latias, then I'll be feeling so damn guilty! If I go, then I'll be letting them go in with the entrance.. wide.... open.....

"I have an idea, but it's insane, and I don't know if my pokemon are up to it.
Guys, do you all think you're up for one Hyper Beam?

And hadley, I know you're probably pissed off at me for pretty much causing this, but I need you to approve of a plan that I have that might be absolutely insane, but it could stall them long enough for me to get help. I was thinking of closing up the entrance to the caverns... Now mind you it will only be temporary... well, hopefully, but I need your opinion on this plan. If you have a better plan, then I would love to hear it."

    ‡ Round 218 ‡

You ask Garchomp if she would like to join your team.

"You have fought with exceptional skill," she says. "I accept."

You give your Ultra Ball a toss and she quickly becomes enclosed within. The ball falls to the ground and clicks upon capture.

    How do you proceed?

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Sunshine Fields
A large rolling plain that overlooks TPML, the grass is soft and the air tasty. A plethora of grass Pokemon are found here as they enjoy the tickling breeze and the bright sunshine. Bird and normal-types are also found here. Far to the north, a small rocky outcropping exists.

    ‡ Round 123 ‡

You ask your Pokemon if they're up for a Hyper Beam. They don't reply, which probably answers that question.

"I don't blame you," Hadley murmurs. "You couldn't have known. But if you collapse the tunnels, you might very well bring the entire city collapsing on their heads... and the heads of the sick Zigzagoons still inside. I have to ask that you don't try that."

"Don't feel guilty about leaving us," Georgette says weakly. "If you need to go save Latias and Latios, then go. We can find somewhere to hide in the meantime."

"Maybe if you let one or two of your Pokemon heal up, they might be able to stay and protect us," Hadley suggests. "It's up to you."

Well, Veronica does have a type advantage against these Taillow, and she's the fastest pokemon I got, so she should have no problem fighting them. She can stay and protect you guys.

Don't worry, Veronica. We'll be back as soon as we can. They probably brought their entire army here, so I should be fine.

Anyway, as soon as everyone's ready, let's head out. We've got an Eon duo to save!

You wait for your Pokemon to regain a bit of health and then explain the situation to Veronica, who dutifully agrees to protect the Zigzagoon colony.

"Good luck," Hadley says. "We'll do our best to hold our own against those bird-brains should they return."

    You then decide to depart.

    Ivy Woods
A dense forest where a thick fog lingers. There are Grass and Bug types everywhere you turn. Look up and you'll find Flying types are enjoying the highest reaches of the trees.

    ‡ Round 125 ‡

You mount Catherine and she takes you at a breakneck pace to Ivy Woods, which stands nearby. You soon pass through the tree-line into the loamy forest where various Pokemon lurk among the leafy bowers. It's almost dawn and you see that a number of them have begun their morning scavenging.

    ‡ Round 126 ‡

You make haste for the rook. It takes some time, but you eventually locate the familiar rock wall on the far side of the lake and begin your ascent. Sandy once again proves her worth as she carries you up the cliff; fortunately, there aren't any psychotic Hoothoots to delay your climb this time around. Soon, you reach the summit and find yourself gazing upon the familiar grove at the cliff's edge where the Taillows made their home. Everything looks to be deserted.

After a bit of roaming, you find Lord Félix's clearing which is also deserted. You approach the throne of leaves and branches and the stone figures of Latias and Latios on either side. You feel a pang of sympathy.

Well, considering he got the illusion from a zorua warlock, that means the illusion is probably more-or-less the same as the illusions that we used before. I believe one attack will set them free.

Catherine, use ember on both of the "statues."

well, I was kind of expecting that not to work, due to the nature of a certain someone's reffing style.

Let's go ahead and examine the statues, then.

    You examine the statues carefully.

From such a close proximity, you can see identical looks of shock and fear on the Eon Pokemon's faces. You run your finger across the stone. It's cold and rough, like actual granite. You can see that this isn't a mere Illusion: they've literally been transformed into stone. You find nothing that resembles a clue, though.

    ‡ Round 129 ‡

You examine the throne. It seems fairly typical at first, but then you spy something tucked away underneath. You crouch down, extend your arm and fish out a stone talisman about the size of your hand. It's diamond-shaped and inlaid with two precious stones that are milky and... inert, even. You flip it over and see writing on the opposite side.

    Once used, please return to
Augustus T. Zorua, Warlock Extraordinaire of the
    Scarred Wasteland.

    Scarred Wastelands
A desolate stretch of rolling grey hills, littered with dead grass. Twisted trees litter the landscape and dying dirt blows by you-caused by some forsaken event. Surely nothing lives out here, right?

    ‡ Round 130 ‡

You surmise that you'll have to retrace your steps even further if you want to fix everything. You backtrack through the grove to the edge of the cliff and then get Sandy to carry you back down to the ground. Mounting Catherine yet again, you set a course for the Scarred Wastelands and swiftly depart. Fortunately, it's not a particularly long trek. Forest soon gives way to field and then again to the desolate stretches you thought you'd left behind for good.

Catherine eventually comes to a halt in the middle of nowhere. A lone Sigilyph floats past.

Recognizing where you are, you survey your surroundings: you see hills to the north, dessicated grass to the south, stone formations to the east and a dreary little forest of leafless trees to the west.

"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda with—oh!" he says, startled upon noticing your arrival. He then quickly adopts his super-serious-and-super-ominous warlock facade. I'm going to assume you're a descendant of Augustus T. Zorua? Because I need to reverse a certain legendary petrification that I assume was caused by this, *shows stone talizman* and I would think you know something about it.

Yes, Augustus was my great-great-great... um... you know, I don't know how many 'greats' go in there, but he's an ancestor of mine. According to what I've heard, he used to make these talismans, charge 'em up with spells and lend them out to those in need. This one appears to been all used up.
