    I stand corrected.

Still, given the date of that story, it took them far longer than 14 days to label him as one.

If you want the "14" day catagory the media was talking about him being a terrorist 3 days after the attack.

    http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...938698,00.html

It also helps to note that this could be seen as a act of a derranged mad man and not a terrorist attack. While the style and combatants of the attack in Bengahzi made it clear it was a terrorist attack

By the way it should be noted that the Candy Crowley admitted on Sept 30th that the Administration did not come out immediately and say it was a act of terrorism.

"CROWLEY: I am joined by Obama campaign senior adviser David Axelrod. I want to pick up on what John McCain and I were talking about. There's a back and forth now about why didn't this administration -- why did it take them until Friday after a September 11th attack in Libya to come to the conclusion that it was premeditated and that there was terrorists involved. John McCain said it doesn't pass the smell test, or it's willful ignorance to think that they didn't know before this what was going on. Your reaction?

AXELROD: Well, first of all, Candy, as you know, the president called it an act of terror the day after it happened. But when you're the responsible party, when you're the administration, then you have a responsibility to act on what you know and what the intelligence community believes. This was -- this is being thoroughly investigated.

CROWLEY: But first it was, like, not planned.

AXELROD: We need to bring to justice--

CROWLEY: First, they said it was not planned, it was part of this tape. All that stuff."

It's funny how you're defending Romney so much now, Roy. From your Facebook status last night (that I read this morning), you seemed a little unsure of Romney's performance. Like he possibly didn't do quite as well as you thought he would.

At the end of the day I don't care who won this debate...

At the end of the day, I don't think Romney was looking to win over voters who knew they were voting Republican in this election the second McCain conceded the last election.

It does seem that Romney is moving toward gaining independents, while Biden and Obama have largely been stuck shoring up their base after the debacle of the first debate.

    I noticed something.

When Obama didn't perform well, liberals immediately ackknowledged it. When first Biden and then the President performed well, conservatives immediatly start whinning about the unfairness of the proceedings.

Mitt was half right about one thing, it seems. 47 percent of Americans view themselves as victims, the 47 percent on the right.

Was it not Obama supporters who said immediately after the debate "The moderator was terrible he let Romney interrupt".

Was it not Obama supporters who said immediately after the debate "Romney switched positions and lied so many times Obama was caught off guard".

Was it not Obama supporters who said immediately after the debate "The altitude affected Obama" Okay really it was just al Gore on that one...

Was it not Obama supporters who said immediately after the debate "Romney pulled out a cheat sheet" when reality it was a hanker chef?

I want this thread to hit 100 pages! Cleveland uppercuts for all: I saw Obama get a little street, which is good. Got tired of him being stiff. Romney looked a little too comfortable, like he could start letting things slip, he lost that poise he tried to have in #1.

Bout to throw some 'bows in round 3 tho!

All attacks meant to instill fear or inflict harm could be considered asked of terror. You don't have to be part of some organization to be a terrorist. You also do not have to be called a terrorist to be a terrorist. An attack over semantics and diction is petty and a sign of weakness.

I'd love to argue with you, Roy, but I'm too busy thumbing through my binders full of women. Speaking of which, the story Romney told about how he acquired said binders was a lie. Also, it is worth noting that the percentage of women in leadership positions in the government of Massachusetts went down during Romney's tenure.

Even if women's rights groups did bring him "binders full of" women applicants, that does not mean that he ever considered them for positions, or even looked at them.

Seeing as women only occupied about 30% of his staff while governor, I tend to doubt he paid much attention to them.

In other words, I call bullshit on this claim.

Except you ignore the fact that Mitt Romney worked with MassGAP to get those binders that were presented to him from the Women's Rights Groups. And that he hired women for his Chief of Staff and Lieutenant governor from that work.

    On a somewhat lighter note...

Obama got an endorsement from a celebrity who is far more respectable than many of the ones who like to do that nowadays:

You know speaking of celebrities and last week on major conspiracy theories and Presidents, this has shown up...

"Hollywood is to court controversy with a film that will challenge the official version of the events of 9/11, a previously taboo topic for the industry mainstream. Martin Sheen, Woody Harrelson and Ed Asner, who have all supported conspiracy theories about the terrorist attacks, have signed up to the movie, which is entitled September Morn.

Styling itself as a drama in the tradition of Twelve Angry Men, the film's advance publicity note hints at a cover-up, saying: "We the people demand that the government revisit and initiates a thorough and independent investigation to the tragic events of 911.""

I seriously will maintain there is a special place in hell for these idiots.

Roy, have I ever supported 9/11 conspiracy theories?

    No, I haven't.

I file them in the same place I do all the birther theories: the trash can.

P.S. Woody Harrelson is a fruitcake. Being an environmentalist is fine to a point, but taking anything too far is bad.

Sorry. I thought you were reacting to my post about Springsteen, because a lot of conservative idiots are already criticising him. It's okay for Nugent to compare Mr. Obama to Hitler, but for some reason, they hate Springsteen now for expressing his First Amendment rights.

Meanwhile, Todd Akin continues to sink even lower.

He said this of his opponent:

“She goes to Washington, D.C., it’s a little bit like one of those dogs, you know ‘fetch'. She goes to Washington, D.C., and get all of these taxes and red tape and bureaucracy and executive orders and agencies and she brings all of this stuff and dumps it on us in Missouri.”
I don't care what political party Ms. McCaskill belongs to. Calling a sitting Senator a dog? She deserves more respect than that.

Personally neither of them deserve respect, he is as gaffe prone as Biden. And she is incredibly corrupt with her husband cutting deals in the Senate Dining Room. Can't we just take the seat away from the state?

    No, I'm afraid we can't.

But I would rather have her in the seat than this misogynist. He is the embodiment of the worst side of the GOP that I'm sure a lot of them don't like to show.

Well do you want a misogynist ( And I really wouldn't say he is a misogynist as he is just... stupid. I mean is Joe Biden a racist? ). Or do you want some one that is corrupt?

Seeing as he believes that there is such a thing as "legitamite rape", and that a woman can't become pregnant because of it, I have to disagree with you.

The fact that this idiot is actually on the science committee boggles the mind. Kind of like the same reasoning there as Homer Simpson being in charge of the safety at the nuclear power plant where he works, only this isn't a cartoon.

"Attacking me is not a policy"

That seems to be the line of the night, other than that Obama seems to be shifting between being overly aggressive to a moderate Mitt Romney, to desperately wishing that Candy Crowlley was there to be in his corner.

It's a great soundbite but one that works at cross-purposes with Romney's burning attack on Obama's travel priorities vis-a-vis Israel. :/ It very much had a "way to go, idiot!" tone to it.

And of course Obama's response was stellar without being bellicose.

"Horses and bayonets" is the line of the night, or at least the meme of the night. "Attacking me is not a policy" was just the epitome of Mitt Romney's overly defensive approach this time around.

The problem with a foreign policy debate involving these specific candidates is that, at least practically speaking, they have broad agreement on most of the major issues. Mitt Romney's foreign policy would be a brasher continuation of Barack Obama's.

I'm getting caught up on this debate since I once again slept through it live x.x

There are a number of my favorite lines but I'm going to start with this one. I was impressed by the talk of Russia. Obama brings it up, basically sneering at Romney, but Romney turns it around calmly and corrects him on his exact words. Obama tries to interrupt but Romney raises his hand and not even missing a beat says "Excuse me" and continues to finish what he was saying. That was cool. I dig it when someone can prevent someone from interrupting without being rude or raising their voice.

I was also impressed by Romney mentioning the President's "more flexibility" soundbyte to Russia I think most of America has forgotten about this by now, even I had until he mentioned it and I had to go look it up again. I always thought this exchange was a bit sketchy.

Obama mentioning Romney's lack of having to actually deal with foreign policy is kind of ironic considering his opponents in the 2008 election were saying the same thing about him, so he would have done well not to remind America of that. It annoys me a bit that he feels it was just fine for him to have no experience with foreign policy in 2008 but now its a problem, even though Romney has more experience in government and business than Obama had when he took office.

    My favorite quotes:

'Well, Mr President, foreign policy - by definition - is supposed to be all over the map.'

'Attacking me is not an agenda.'

'Mr President, we have not dictated to other nations, we have freed other nations from dictators.'

'I’m not going to wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to Russia, or Mr. Putin. And I’m certainly not going to say to him, I’ll give you more flexibility after the election. After the election, he’ll get more backbone.'

'In the 2000 debates, there was no mention of terrorism, for instance. And a year later, 9/11 happened. So, we have to make decisions based upon uncertainty, and that means a strong military.'

    The transcript.
    And...

    The video.

Actually, said 'binders' were put together by women's groups prior to his election to be given to whomever won. He didn't solicit them.

Second, over his governship, the percentage of women with such positions went down.

    And...

    The video.
Romney reversed his opinions on several issues. He all but endorsed a majority of the President's foreign policy.

Also, despite yours and Roy's opinions, horses and bayonets was the line of the night based on social media popularity. Romney's prepared qwips were well-written, but he had poor delivery, making them less memorable.

Anyway, they don't really have many differences in foreign policy based on last night's debate.

Found another Non Sequitor comic strip that I think speaks wonders:

    http://www.arcamax.com/newspics/54/5491/549112.gif

I'm really starting to like the strip...

And by the way, this whole lie about Mr. Obama's "apology tour" that Romney keeps pushing is getting stale.

    Edit: Another thing I found:

Mitt Romney claimed during Monday's debate that repealing health care reform would reduce the federal budget deficit. But that's not exactly true.

"Come on our website, you’ll look at how we get to a balanced budget within eight to 10 years. We do it by getting - by reducing spending in a whole series of programs. By the way, number one - get rid of is Obamacare," Romney said.

In fact, repealing Obamacare would increase the deficit by $109 billion over the next 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office, since Obamacare saves money for the government.
"Not exactly true" they say? If that's right, it's flat-out false.

I said they were MY favorite quotes, I don't give a shit what the majority of social media thinks. Social media also thinks memes are clever and funny, which I find a majority of them to be stupid and following the crowd...(btw don't take my tone as being mad at you, you're just as entitled to your opinion as I am, I just really hate social media lol)

It was getting stale when Obama was doing it too.

The CBO only could work with numbers the Democrats gave them, in reality it does add to the deficit.

BTW according to the focus group on CBS, Obama's overly aggressive stance did not play well.

Roy, I swore I would not proclaim Obama the winner of a debate and claim it as fact...

But come on... Calling Romney a winner in this debate is a very big stretch and a clear case of wishful thinking on the part of many Republicans.

Might I add that you are again quoting your favorite consevative website? They were pointing to a panel of eight people as proof, less than the number of players on a baseball team. Hardly the amount needed for an accurate poll. If I went outside right now on the streets of Brooklyn and asked eight people who won the debate, I'm sure I'd get the opposite result.

If one considers just how many people participated in the XBox debate watch interactive polling... Obama has consistently won on all counts by a huge margin. Considering the mode demographic of participants is men in their 30s, I find this kind of interesting. I wonder if, in the end, the media is just lying about the numbers?
