    I would have wanted to battle Blade ;_;

The arena was from one of my all-time favourite videogames, too.

Oslo, your new reffing looks great. I tried around using tables to line up the stats between turns, but I never thought about putting them on the edges of the text blocks themselves. I'm not sure about the font though. It looks a bit 90's IT school class.

Oh yes, I have to say it, too, that looks neat, Oslo. Every time when I see original layouts like that, I even feel inspired to apply for a referee position myself, but I still have a long way to go.

Well, I'm sure some of you have been awaiting this news from me (especially Darkly and Greyfox, who I mentioned it to in the first place), but...I am back!

Over the last several days I was pondering my return more than ever, as well as updating my personal list of all the moves each of my current ASB Pokemon know...for those of you who aren't (that) familiar with me, I thought you might want to know, I have a lot of Pokemon (as in, over 50), most of them fully evolved (though I have a small handful of Pokemon who want to evolve when they can).

At the moment, I may be a little bit rusty since I haven't battled for two years, but for now I'm not quite ready to go back to reffing battles (someday, I might ref again).

But before I look for or create my first battle in years, I have some "unfinished business" that I'd like to do first, if you guys don't mind, so my activity here will for the most part, be relatively quiet at first.

So yeah, it's good to be back...even if my activity stays slow for a time, I'll gradually integrate myself into the new ASB system and stuff.

    Yay, Kyle is back!

The Who's Online? page has shown you reading ASB threads quite frequently over the past couple of weeks. I've been wondering if a comeback was waiting in the wings. :3

First Blade and then you! Egads! Is an MLG sighting not far behind?

You know, it's ironic you mentioned MLG there Oslo, I saw him on MSN a few days ago, but I haven't been able to get his attention yet...but if his appearances on MSN are hinting at a return to ASB, it's certainly something to look forward to.

And yeah, I was checking a lot of stuff in ASB in the recent past (and today, I still technically am)...if I'm to fully integrate myself into the revised system, I have to do my "homework", and check out as much information as I can find.

Welcome back to ASB Knight of Time! Now I don't even remember whether or not we have ever been here at the same time, I didn't join until 2009, but anyways, I'm really looking forward to battling you. But take your time and finish your business first.

I'm gonna return as a ref!

No, not really, but I wouldn't mind it going out with a bang instead of a whimper like it did, so I might ref one more match, then I can update my Vs. Seeker and make it look all nice again.

There's a point, how outdated is your Vs. Seeker, you lazy slobs?

Funny you should mention the Vs. Seeker...I have to update mine, as not only is there information I have to remove (for the time being), but there's also information I have to add...most of my nameless Pokemon prior to my hiatus now have names...and at this rate, I may have another update soon, pending a certain new addition and a certain change in one of my Pokemon.

Edit: Yes, Mikachu, I am quite sure I was still here when you first joined, as I'm sure that was several months before my hiatus began. Someday, I suppose I'll have a battle with you, when I'm all "warmed up", heh heh.

Quite frankly, that post of yours reminded me of something that I've seen on TV a few times, where two people/characters make a (surprise) entrance into some place, and one of them gets plenty of applause and stuff, while the other gets nothing but silence.

No offense Blademaster, but while you reminded me of Daffy Duck there, there's nobody here that's going to give you nothing but silence...I acknowledge your presence, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who is aware you're back too.

BTPoke: You'd hafta wait until the tree comes back up for that first.

Also, Dan's post in the Gym Nomination thread gave me an idea for a new arena:

    POKÉFLOATS
    ver 2.00

High in the air, you and your opponent are battling with pokémon upon pokémon. There are a series of pokémon-shaped floats drifting high above the ground. You start on a randomly-generated pokéfloat, and do battle on that particular float for a bit. Every five rounds, you'll have to jump over to the next float to avoid being carried away out of the battle.

These pokéfloats, however, have a few traits that normal floats don't have. Like in the original Pokéfloats stage, the power of your attacks will increase if the attack is of the same type as the pokéfloat. However, these pokéfloats also have weaknesses that can be exploited, and will absorb all attacks that they are weak to, even physical ones.

For example, if you're battling on an Eevee Float, and someone uses Dynamicpunch, the Eevee will endure the hit and lose some of its own HP. If a float gets attacked enough and loses all its HP, then it'll pop and both pokémon will fall. They won't be instantly KOed, though -- as per usual, the pokémon will be teleported safely to the next float at the cost of 10% of their HP.

The only problem with the stage is if you're stuck on a Dragon or Ghost-typed float, you can't take advantage of the bonus without practically destroying the battlefield.

I could make it so that all the floats share a set amount of HP (probably around 100) and then when that hits zero, the float pops and the pokémon have to adapt accordingly.

The Pokefloats arena idea sounds rather cool IMO...but quite frankly, it makes me just slightly nervous about possibly battling in it, as it seems to bring back memories of a battle I lost in the old ASB (when sig moves existed), where the arena I chose backfired on me, aka leaving me with a painful epic fail...one thing's for sure, choosing an arena for a battle that can horribly backfire on you: bad, bad, BAD idea.

But pushing that aside, I've been doing plenty of work on the ASB first catch list for 2012, guys...though I'm not quite ready to post it yet (there's an issue I have to get feedback on first), it's coming along quite nicely. Keep an eye on this space guys...I'll let you guys know when I'm ready to post the updated first catch list.

So yeah...DarkestLight & Greyfox, if there's anything I missed, or that needs to be fixed with this list (e.g. if I accidentally recorded the wrong person for the first catching of a particular Pokemon), please let me know...it's been a while since I did this kind of thing anyway.

What does a single asterisk mean?

IIRC a single asterisk meant that at times there were some Pokemon who were given or traded to someone else without being approved by their original owners...I know it's ridiculous, but quite frankly, I guess the instances of the single asterisk (not two on the same Pokemon) can be removed.

That legendary catch list is relevant to my interests... (nope, totally not thinking of going on another SZ quest. Nope, whatever gave you that idea?)

If you're wondering, Cynder, MLG originally created the first catch list...in 2010 I decided to take it up for him, editing in all of the non-legendary D/P Pokemon (I had help from MLG, DarkestLight, and Crazy Elf Boy at times in editing that list), as well as the first legendary that had been caught prior to my hiatus close to Halloween of that year...but after seeing that the first catch list hadn't been updated for this year, I decided to post it for this year to reflect the addition of B/W to ASB.

Edit: BTPoke: Are you sure? For each of the Pokemon I used the search function...I must have taken a wrong turn by mistake somewhere, as I was fairly sure someone caught a Regice.

Don't quote me on this one, but I think it might have been Mike Mysterio that caught Regice? Whoever was in the zone with the shiny Infernape, anyway, not 100% sure.

Yeah, I realized it was indeed Mike Mysterio that caught a Regice..thanks Cynder.

    'goes to edit accordingly'

Sorry about that, BTPoke...I don't know how I goofed in thinking you caught Regice, but am I glad that's cleared up.

Maybe you should put names next to Legendaries in regards to people who are currently searching for them. Off the top of my head.. Ash0011 is hunting Manaphy, DarkestLight is hunting Cobalion, I think Grey's reffing someone's search for Terrakion abd someone for Raikou?

I wish Deoxys or Mewtwo were available

Hell yeah, Wobbuffet. I remember my name being on that list the last time I saw it too, so my signature Pokemon remains signature.

Mainly because it is a bad Pokemon to use in terms of ASB, but... fight the system!

Good work, Kyle! I think Cueball may have been the first person to get a Cubchoo, though. :3 I remember reffing a battle in which it was destroyed by Grey's Starmie.

And I believe DL was the first to nab Giratina?

Hmm...I was talking to Darkly on Facebook earlier in regards to the situation about gift Pokemon...I asked him about an example situation as to who would take credit for getting the first of a particular Pokemon on the list that was a gift for one of the tree topics (a Pansage RaZoR LeAf got approved as a gift, before giving it to its new owner for a gift from one of the previous tree topics), and he told me the first person would get credit for having the first of a particular Pokemon (Pansage in this case), so I believe RaZoR LeAf would technically be the first person to have gotten a Cubchoo.

I'm not entirely sure on that one...how many legendaries have been caught twice, besides Giratina and Darkrai (according to what Darkly told me)?
