Also, my surname is Tanska and that is the Finnish word for another country, Denmark. Thus I own Greenland!

Anyone looking forward to Christmas as much as I am this year? It may be a little early to discuss Christmas already, but I'm certainly looking forward to seeing a few DVD sets under the tree this year (including one exclusive to TimeLife; though half of its contents can be found on Amazon as well), as well as a special deck of playing cards (actually, make that two special decks of playing cards; one that's Super Mario themed, and one that's Legend of Zelda themed...of course, the former of these decks of cards is bound to arrive before Christmas, hopefully, since I'm getting them from Club Nintendo for reaching the Platinum status).

I think DarkestLight was referring to this year's edition of the ASB Christmas Tree...but anyway, in my previous post I was more talking about Christmas in real life (e.g. outside of ASB and to an extent, TPM)...speaking of real life, this year's also going to be a bittersweet Christmas for my family; last year's Christmas was the final one we got to spend with one of our grandfathers...somehow, he realized it was going to be his last Christmas holiday with us (he passed away in January earlier this year, about four weeks after the previous Christmas)...so yeah, the first Christmas without a grandparent often is the hardest.

I work in retail. It's been Christmas for over a month now, I'm looking forward to New Years Day.

It's just not worth the two months of tacky decorations and bad holiday music playing 24/7 and needless spending and TV specials you've seen a thousand times (The Muppet Christmas Carol being the one true exception) and folks going about with looks of chemically induced chipperness on their faces and repetitive commercials and terrible driving conditions (which I can't really blame on Christmas but I will anyway) and obnoxious store displays and dried-up turducken and crowded shopping mall parking lots and people deluding themselves into believing eggnog tastes good and the increasingly tired trend of ugly Christmas sweater parties and diabetes-inducing dietary habits and Facebook being like "hurr today 19 ppl made posts about Christmas; I bet you care lots right 8D" and vacuuming evergreen needles out of the carpet and uncomfortable small-talk with smelly Cousin Lou whom you don't even know/like/want to be around and privileged white people whining that immigrants and political correctness are collectively axe-murdering then pissing on the corpses of their beloved traditions and OSLO HATES CHRISTMAS CAN'T YOU TELL.
