Round Sixty-Four



Vigilance takes to the air and begins to beat his wings rapidly. A mighty hurricane forms within the warehouse, blowing piles of boxes aside to the walls, where the smash into timber upon impact. Zoroark has nowhere to run as he is swept up by the wind and tossed around like a rag-doll. As the hurricane fades, the dark type is thrown into a wall, and he struggles to get back up, having been rendered dazed and confused by the constant whirling winds. Vigilance wastes no time, an aura surrounds his body, one that begins to spark and crackle with chaotic energy. The Pidgeot pulls its wings close and dive bombs the fallen foe. Zoroark barely manages to send a wicked gaze at Vig before his is impacted with such a force that the wall of the warehouse blows out, and the battle is taken on to the docks. Night workers spin to see the commotion, but most start running in panic. As Vig settles to regain his breath, a black Crobat swoops down from the sky, grabs the Zoroark in its talons and takes off again without a word of thanks. Gratitude bitch!

The night grows darker and you are suddenly back in the Maos Temple again. This time the invisible statue is completely visible.



Once again, words have appeared on a plinth

In blackest day in darkest night
No evil shall escape his sight
Let those who worship evils might
Fear his wrath, Dark Crobat's fight

You wonder if the ancient Maos pokemon were fans of DC Comics, but the temporal paradox makes your head hurt. Perhaps someone ran out of rhyming words at some point and started to steal them from elsewhere.

A stone door slides open, leading you to the next room. With no other option, you follow it through to the next chamber. Expecting to see a third state and a wall of writing, you are taken aback by a rope hanging in your face, descending through a large hole in the ceiling above you. The statue that once stood in the chamber has been reduced to rubble, and the once, surely not stolen poetic riddle, destroyed by some kind of destructive force. The stone doorway leading on has been similarly destroyed. Ita appears that whoever was forcing their way into the temple has beaten you to their destination.

Round Twelve



You careful pass the Litwik over to Sake, who holds the little pokemon close and tight. Litwik lets its flame burn a little brighter, and the forest becomes illuminated enough for you to see where you are going. With the extra light to guide your way, moving through the dense forest takes a lot less time than it did before. Occasionally you see Litwik appearing to take to itself, but it always stops and goes back to being a cute little candle buddy. Soon you notice the forest becoming less dense and a path forming beneath your feet.

"We're almost there now. Are you sure this is where you want to be?" Litwik asks.

"It is." you reply.

You conintue, and step out of the trees and look up the hill before you. A massive house come castle stands atop the hill, a full moon resting above it. Somehow it has become the dead of night in the time it has taken you to traverse the forets, even if it didn't feel that long. From the size of the house, it's apparent that you should have been able to see it from Grave's Yard. The front door, a giant oak carved gate, is slightly ajar, and lit torches line the path up to the entrance.

Round Sixty-Five

Recalling Elegance, you hop onto Vigilance's back and soar upwards, following the tunnel that has been dug through to the chamber. For a moment, it all goes dark, then you burst out of the ground and back into the Nevshard badlands. Vig goes up high enough in order to let you survey where you are. Beneath you is a great pit that has been dug deep into the sands below, finally uncovering the top of the buried temple. Lying around the edges of the pit are exhausted pokemon, now abandoned by whatever force had original enslaved them into digging for them.

On the horizon, the sun appears to be setting, but you still feel terribly hot. Wait, feeling hot? You reach up to your face and wipe your fingers down a cheek. The sun block you were once covered in has been washed away by the water that was falling in the warehouse earlier. Thankfully, you still have the water bottles, but you now have a time limit of how long you can withstand the heat before getting whatever job you need doing, done.

Short of landing back on the sand, there's nowhere else for Vigilance to perch.

Round Thriteen


You step into the great house and stare at all that lays before you. Two staircases sit at either side of the room, leading up to balconies dotted with doors and passageways. The room before you features a grand fireplace at the base of a tall tower that continues up into the rafters and beyond. Various homely features are also there. Two leather arm chairs, a book case, an old gramophone on a chest of drawers. Various paintings and drapes hang on the wall, and candelabras sit on every pillar and post along the stairwell.

"Nice." you say in passing.

No sooner have the words passed your lips, the door slams shut behind you, and a lock can be heard turning. The candelabras light up in succession leading up to the top, and a chandelier of candles bursts into light, illuminating the room. The paintings appear to shift just outside your line of vision, but freeze when you look at the them. The fireplace begins to burn too, and the gramophone starts playing a haunting melody.

"Are you scared?" the Litwick asks. Before you can respond he speaks again "Then I wont be either."

There are so many paths to choose, what will your next step be?

Round Twenty-Nine

You call out your three pokemon who seem relieved to have finally been let out of their pokeballs, especially George and Blazer who were starting to wonder if they;d been forgotten about. The request to search for music has them a little confused though. What exactly are they searching for? George picks up a stick and starts to hit a rock, but Blazer isn't convinced that counts as a great beat. Blazer starts to squawk, but Taco quickly objects to his choice of lyrics. Taco tries to use grass whistle, but George makes her stop before she falls asleep. The three pokemon turn to you for guidance. Perhaps there are pokemon nearby that can help out.

Directing Vigilance to the ground, you land near a pokemon that is curled up in a ball. You jog over to it and try to get it to talk.



"I'm so.. tired.. haven't slept in... days.."

"What happened?"

"She forced us.. to dig.. dig all the way down.. to the temple.. forced us.. used ghosts to control us.."

"Where is she now?"

"Gone.. into temple.. took ghosts with her.. left us here..."

"Can I help you at all?"

"Just.. need to.. rest."

With that, the Crustle fell into a deep sleep. Looking around, you notice most of the pokemon have either gone to sleep, or are either asleep or on the verge of falling into it.

Round Fourteen

Following the right hand staircase, you climb up, all the while keeping an eye on those shifty paintings and a careful look out for any ghosts that might spring out to confront you. The staircase creaks, but there is no other sound except for the melody coming from the gramophone. On the balcony above the main foyer, there are two doors. One at the end of the balcony up against the back wall, and another on the side wall just to your right. You can see across to the left hand side, where there are doors are in the same position. Also from this height, you can see a doorway hidden beneath the balcony, just behind the staircase back on the ground floor.

Round Thirty



You ask Driflon to come with you, but he seems to be in his own little world again, bopping to imaginary music once more. This leaves you and your pokemon alone to find what Drifloon wants. You spread out a little, still unsure of what to find, when George's ears prick up. She points into the forest nearby and you stop and listen. You hear a faint melody coming from between the dark branches. Blazer makes a noise behind you, and you run to his attention. He points further down the path where you can hear a regular thumping beat. Taco starts to jump up and down and breathing hard you run to her. Back the way you came at the entrance to the yard you can hear someone singing. Which way are you going first?

Round Fifteen

Pushing open the door on the right you step into a new room. Just like before, everything bursts into life and the door closes behind you. The room is pretty homely for a spooky old mansion. But still kinda scary. A huge fur rug on the floor still has the head of a Mightyena attached to it, and the detached heads of various other wild pokemon are hanging on plaques on the wall. Several comfy seats are gathered around, with a few small tables with candles on them. Book cases line the walls, some full of tomes and volumes, others with statues, vases and other ornaments.

You pick up the largest in the middle. The photo looks ancient. It's sepia toned, but has all the hallmarks of an old photo, with tears and folds across the image. It depicts a young Drowzee flanked by a Ghastly and a Litwick. The three are smiling and happy. You turn the frame around and there is something scrawled on the back, a number in the top corner '1802'

"Hey she looks just like me" Litwick says over your shoulder.

"Do you know her?" you ask

"Nope. Do you?" Litwik replies.

"Of course not."

There's another door in the room, at the back on the left.

Round Sixty-Seven

You jump onto Vigilance's back and direct him back down the hole and into the temple again. Getting back inside is no problem, and when you return to the chamber you were just in, you stop to look around once more. The statue that would have been your final test lies on the floor in a state of ruin. You can barely make out what it was, but you see some familiar characteristics. A thick mane, a long nose, a pendulum hanging on a chain. Behind the broken statue is another gaping hole in the wall. Beyond the hole, is another set of stairs leading down, form which you can hear a faint voice. Cautiously, you follow it telling Vigilance to watch your back. You creep down the stairs and when you reach the bottom, hang back in the shadows. A large chamber opens up before you. The entire room is bare of any kind of symbol or mural, except on the wall directly in front of you which bares an image of a massive gate.

Just before the is a stone table, wedged into the middle of which is a glowing silver sword with a blue hilt and jagged grey spike at the side. Surrounding the table are three ghost pokemon, floating ominously, keeping a close watch on the sword.



Then a woman walked past them. Tall, thin, voluptuous. You're a typical man, think what you want.



She smiles at the ghosts, looks at the sword then turns and starts speaking to mid air.

"Yes, we're ready."

"No that wont be an issue."

"Hiding in the shadows at the bottom of the stairs, he thinks I can't see him. Don't you?"

Busted


- What now?

Round Sixty-Eight



With your attempts to hide trounced, you step out of the shadows and into the antechamber. The woman half smiles, half glares at you, whilst her three ghost pokemon stare menacingly at you and Darwin, who you released only seconds ago. Vigilance stays back on the stairwell, completely out of sight.

"If you managed to get through the tests of the sword that came before the statue that I destroyed, then you are clearly a force to be reckoned with," she began "however we have come too far and sacrificed too much to be stopped by the likes of you now. Regardless of who you are or what kind of strength you wield, you need only keep out of our way for a moment and then we are done with you and this wretched desert."

"You and I have a problem." you say, but she just laughs.

"Truly? Allow me to solve it for you." she motions to the three ghosts "Keep him busy."

The three phantom pokemon rush towards you and surround you and Darwin whilst the woman approaches the sword embedded in the stone plateau. She begins to chant an ancient, incomprehensible language, but before you can listen properly, the ghosts move to attack

Round Sixteen

You check out the door at the back, and it leads into a new smaller room. There is a door immediately to your left, and from the position it is in, you assume it would lead back onto the balcony in the main entrance. This room has very few features. A tall glass faced cabinet contains several bottles of various coloured liquids, and a tray of crystal glasses and a decanter sit on a nearby table. Two very ornate leather seats are near the table, each with a smaller table by each, and a box of untouched cigars open on them both. The biggest thing you notice about this room is there there is a staircase opposite you, leading upwards.

You take a chance to look at Litwick, but the candle doesn't seem to be paying any attention. Rosalinda on the other hand looks a bit uneasy. You motion to ask if she is ok, but she catches you looking and shakes her head, assuring you she is fine.

Round Sixty-Nine



You smirk, and call out to Darwin to protect you. The Kangaskhan erects a dome around the two of you, but struggles to hold it up as the three ghost pokemon beat down on it continuously. From the shadows of the stairwell, Vigilance swoops out, flies just above the dome and unleashes a mighty Hurricane. In the enclosed space of the room, the three ghosts have nowhere to run, and they are scattered to the corners by the gust. The woman however is completely unaffected, as if a shield of protection surrounds her too. She glances back over her shoulder at you, and sneers at you, before turning her full attention to the sword on the dias.

The mural of the gate begins to glow, and a brilliant flash of light fills the room, followed by a shockwave of energy that sends you and your pokemon crashing to the ground. You avert your gaze and reopen your eyes to find the room is illuminated in a red glow. Where the gate once was, there is now a huge hole in the wall, and beyond it a seemingly endless red tunnel disappearing far into the distance. Shapes or light and shadow form and swirl in the tunnel, and something large and black is slowly making its way from the distance towards the gate room.

"Is it done?" the woman asks "Father?"

You look where she is looking and stagger as you see another person in the room with you.



"Senka my child, you have saved me from the realm of shadows. But we must hurry, the rest of the ritual must be carried out this night." The man notices you "Who is that?"

"He attempts to stop us, but just like the first one, he will not succeed. The sword will draw the mightiest of souls to the gate from both dimensions."

"Then our time here is over, we will leave this worm to rot in the basement of this forgotten temple."

Before you can get up to fight back, three shadow balls from the ghosts fly at you and crash into the wall behind you. The wall caves in blocking the way back up, leaving you trapped in the chamber. The last pokeball on your belt shakes and Elegance leaps out.

"Something powerful is coming. Something evil."

The shadow in the tunnel grows ever larger.

Round Seventeen

You take a look at the tray of crystal glasses. On first look, there doesn't seem to be anything really noticeable about them, but when you pick one up, you notice that they are completely clean. Not just clean, but crystal clean. There is no dust on them, nor on the tray. On second thoughts, there is nothing anywhere to suggest this house has been left abandoned. No cobwebs on the rafters, no dirt in the carpet, and no dust on the surfaces. You step across the the cabinet and open it, taking out one or two bottles to look at. There are many fine wines in here, and much like the house, show now signs of abandonment. In fact, some of these wines have screw caps on them, which is pretty modern when you look at it.

"Merv said this house had been abandoned for years." you mumble in passing. You put all but one bottle back, and open one of the screw cap bottles. As you break the seal, you start to hear a faint melody coming from above you. It sounds like a Waltz

Round Thirty-One

Instructing Blazer and George to say where they are and stop the other pokemon from leaving, you and taco head back the way you came. Blazer and George exchange confused looks, as the only other pokemon around is Drifloon, who isn't going anywhere anyway. Never the less, they sit there and chat. You and Taco find your way down the path to the main part of the Grave Yard, where the majority of people visiting graves have gone. A young girl is sat on a bench, and the source of the signing is coming from her.

Round Seventy

You stand with your three pokemon, awaiting the evil that Elegance has sensed approaching. The shadow in the gateway grows darker as it looms closer. The red glow coming form the gateway is blocked as the shadow seeps into the room and begins to manifest as a solid object. Tentacles rise out of pits of darkness, whilst a large alien like head with a single piercing eye appears from the centre of the circle.



The creature looks around the room, before it's gaze settles on you. You feel frozen to the spot for a second, and as you stare into the eye of the monster, your heart is filled with sorrow, anger and fear. Like nothing will ever be warm or good again. But as the gaze moves from you to your pokemon, you regain control of yourself and your emotions. Each of your pokemon feel the same paralysing gaze, but it lingers the longest on Elegance before wandering away.

"What is that thing?" you ask

"A demonic pokemon from millenia ago." Elegance replies "Our legends tell of a race of honourable and holy pokemon that fought a race of evil demons that spread despair and chaos wherever they went. They could neutralise many attacks sent against them, which meant it took a lot to defeat one. A war was raged between the legendary pokemon of the world, and the demons, and eventually the world was rid of their kind. But the cost was great, genocide was not something that could be taken lightly, and the pokemon were stripped of their typing. No pokemon since has ever bore the Light type again."

"If one should be allowed loose on this world again, I feel it might never be stopped."

The creature had obviously been listening to Elegance, as two balls of shadow had now formed around it, poised to attack.

"I sense a second presence approaching."

- This thing is toast!
- Another one!?

Round Thirty-Two



You wait until she finishes her song before approaching her. Gingerly, you ask if she would accompany you to sing for Drifloon.

"The lonely little Drifloon on the hilltop?" she asks "I often sing for him, he is a sweet little balloon. Of course I will sing for him. Please let him know I will be with him shortly, but I have another song to sing for the resting pokemon first."

You take her word that she will attend to Drifloon soon, but now it's time to go after one of the other requirements that the ghost pokemon has. As she leaves to start singing you feel something twitch beside you. Looking down you find a long crack has appeared on one side of the egg you've been carrying. It's hatching! Finally, after what seems like ages of carrying it, the egg is finally cracking open. You hold the egg up ready for the baby pokemon to come flying out. - Find the drum beat along the path

Round Eight

You follow the sound of the music, going up the stairs and on to the first floor where the melody is louder. A long corridor lies in front of you and you can just about make out where it turn off at the end. A door sits at the very end of the corridor, whilst a larger more ornate door is just on the right hand side in front of you. The music is coming from whatever is beyond the door nearest you, and you can't resist following it. The tune is so beautiful, it's as if you are being drawn in against your control. You push open the door and step into the room, where you find a dozen or so people dancing. They appear completely oblivious to your presence except for one girl who stands alone near the wall.



This shy looking girl catches your eye, and you catch hers. She blushes, turns away but looks back over her shoulder and smiles at you. The music is perfect, the scene is perfect. One dance wont harm. A burst of purple flame suddenly shoots over your head and you glance back at the pokemon behind you. They seem so far away, and the little candle appears to be shouting something wildly. You want to go and dance with the girl, but something or someone appears to be holding you back.

- Fight against what ever is controlling you, and go dance with the pretty girl
- Give in to what is controlling you and focus on the pokemon
