Gym Test Run: The Byzantine Blitz! (Cynder vs. Rossymore, Ref: Darkestlight)

I think it might be easier if it were a round point basis, doing a best out of three, so if the challenger wins the first two rounds, then they get the badge. That shouldn't happen too often, since battles are fairly even, doesn't hugely matter on the Pokemon. If you have type advantage and you go second on the last round, you'll be fine. The only disadvantage is issuing commands first, that's always screws people over, since the commands issued second are usually a counteract to the first.

Since it's Cynder's Gym, it's her call, this is a test after all. We can do a Espeon and Lickilicky vs Reshiram and Hydreigon if we want, first to KO. I wouldn't mind finishing this battle and calling it a draw though.

The reason I did it like I did was because I really like having battles that can change direction incredibly quickly; i.e. in this case where Rossy won the first battles and I won the last, which brought the whole thing to a tie. It makes it a lot more interesting and there's no point where it's impossible to get a win/draw! That's why I suggested a tiebreaker round since I can tell that ties are probably going to come up a lot, in which case it'd be any Pokemon used previously PMed to the ref, and the ref chooses which arena we'd battle on. Something along those lines, anyway.

Alrighty then. As for the gym itself, I like it. The changing of arenas adds for a bit more variety and the arenas themselves are fairly good, though I didn't make use of the area and since we were testing it, I probably should have.

One thing I would note is the last right, perhaps the option to the challenger of either a triple or rotation battle. People may have certain preferences, I prefer Rotation, but Triples are still fun.

But I'd still like to walk away from this with a badge, tbh. Up for one more round?

Well, we've reached a nice little tiebreaker round. Back to the lotus blossoms we land, and well, it's Mani versus Licky. Both Pokemon re revitalized to full spirits, and Mani starts off by flicking sparks out that gaping maw of his. Does that stop the normalized foe from wrappiong that extensive muscle around the serpent like a sushi wrap and wringing the living bejeezus out of it? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Man, that muscle is something else...

Mani wriggled out out the tongue lashing, and surged for the confused pokemon, only to stop in its track and curl into a ball. A wash of energy flew up around Mani as a similar current flew up from Licky's stubby hands , trying to paralyze him. But no go there sir, no go at all

Licky doesn't give in though. He slaps the groud hard with his tongue and flips over himself, using tat tongue now as a overhead hammer slam. Mani whips its tail out in retaliation and Licky strikes what feels like iron! Both Pokemon bounce back from the equal display of force.

This Gym battle reaches a fierce continuance, as Mani beckons water to well up from the flowers themselves. The rush of fluids mass together and surge outward, blasting into the relaxing Licki. The pink blob is knocked back hard, barely holding onto the sides of the slick petals.

Mani continues the barrage, watching as the little pink blob tries to dance. Pink things shouldn't dance, they look silly and probably taste good with ketchup. A hefty slam from his tail puts the kabash on that pretty fast. But it IS sunnier now.

Sun: 7 act.

Licki hasn't landed one hit this round. That's all to change as he charges up a blast on his tongue. Mani knows those sparks and bellows in discontent as he flings a lackluster Waterfalluppercut at the organ. Licki makes sure to wrap his tongue around that incoming tail and releases the bolt, super shocking the wet tail, and therefore Mani.

Licky tries to put a end to this drawn out inaugural battle. He flings out that tongue and tosses a second Thunderbolt. Mani roars and flies directly into the blast, somehow surviving!

Mani curled up tight as Licky slapped its tongue across the seaserpents back. The pain was very real, but so was the bellow that Mani released. The retaliatory strike that Mani committed to, took Licki by surprise.

Eh, bit convenient living on 1 but if that gives the illusion of drama, fine.

As for the gym, it's fine, but sorting out the winner needs a bit of work, since I easily won the first two rounds, then barely lost the last two, eventually culminating in a loss for me? From a mathematical standpoint I go eh, but a good match regardless. Seems badges are not for me.

EDIT: Sorry about that Rossy, but as I said before, I like having the ability to change the course of a battle really quickly because it makes it more exciting! I do agree about it needing a little work though, so I'll have to have a think about that.
