Round 100

You decide to take a look around, feeling the walls for any sort of switch that could lead to a hidden pathway.

Sure enough, while you and your pokemon are feeling around the room, you feel a tug on your shirt.

You look down and see Leo pointing towards the wall that is the divider of the two pathways. It seems that she may have found something.

Leo leads you to the wall divider, then stops. She makes a big show of waving her tail around, then she pokes the wall with her tail.

When it seemed like the tail would hit solid rock, Leo's tail instead passed through the wall as if the wall was made of a liquid.
Deciding to experiment for yourself, you poke the "wall" with your finger. Indeed, instead of hitting solid rock, your finger passes through a liquid-like substance.

What's weird about it, though, is that the liquid seems oddly warm, which seems strange considering the temperature of the environment.


What next?
-Delve through the newly-found passage?
-Head down one of the other pathways?
-Turn back and leave?

Round 101

Not even beginning to question the nature of the liquid (for all you know it could be zubat guano), you decide to step into the wall. Once more, the liquid of the wall seems lukewarm to the touch. However, even as you pass into the wall completely, you feel no signs that you're getting wet at all. What's even more strange, however, is the fact that the liquid seems to get warmer with each step you take. You almost begin to think that the wall is going to start boiling before you break through to the other side.

Once on the other side, the first thing you notice is that it's warm. Very warm. You're quite surprised that the rest of the mountain isn't as warm as this place.
The walls of the tunnel seem to have a sort of incandescent glow, making it so that the entire tunnel is revealed with a red-tinted light.

The tunnel seems to be completely straight, with no branching paths as far as you can see.


What next?
-Continue along the tunnel?
-Examine the current vicinity?
-Check to see if the "wall" wasn't zubat guano?

Round 102

So, without bothering to turn back to somehow find a red tunic, you venture deeper into the tunnel laid out before you. As you pass through the tunnel, the temperature seems to stay at a moderate pace, but the glow radiating from the walls seems to glow a bit brighter. There doesn't seem to be any branches in the path, and you start to wonder just how deep this tunnel goes.

Suddenly, your feel your shirt being tugged.

You look down to where Leo is standing, and she puts a finger to her lips before pointing to a rather large rock.
Leo obviously believes there's something behind that rock. There haven't been any pokemon so far down this tunnel, so you had thought that there were none this far down. Leo and her intuition really haven't failed you thus far, though.
You look over to pinkie, and she's crouched down in what seems to be a preparation for a pounce.


What next?
-AMBUSH ZE ROCK WHILE YELLING!
-Go all solid snake and sneak around the rock?
-Walk past? I mean really, what kind of pokemon could possibly be back there?

Round 103

Responding to your command, Leo grabs her tail and tries to draw something - ANYTHING - that could cause any sort of invisibility. Alas, Leo seems to come up with nothing, and she turns to you and shakes her head.
You also ask Leo about the transmutation circle idea, but she shakes her head at that as well.

You then signal your pokemon to follow you as you slowly walk over to the rock. You then take a little peek around the rock to see what might be behind it.


You see a zigzagoon that appears to be sleeping in a small niche in the wall. The zigzagoon seems to be scratched up a bit as you take a closer look, and you assume that it has probably been in a few fights.

As you step closer to the zigzagoon, however, pinkieta makes the mistake of stepping on a pebble. This causes her hoof to slide out from under her, and she takes a rather nasty- and loud- spill. The zigzagoon's eyes shoot open, and it takes on a defensive position rather quickly.

"Oh, so you're back for more, eh?" zigzagoon says in a groggy, sleep-deprived voice. "I can take on all of you as long as I want, you glorified geckos!"

Uh oh, he looks like he's about to attack!

What now?
-Attack before he does?
-Talk some sense into him?
-RUN AWAY! CRAZY ZIGZAGOON!!

Round 104


You issue your orders to Pinkyta, but her attempts at a Morning Sun fall flat, considering there's virtually no sunlight going into this cave. Pinkyta only manages to gain a bit of healing power, but that only ends up affecting her, not the zigzagoon.
Pinkyta's attempts at a charm, however, do well enough at calming down the zigzagoon. As soon as he's hit by the charm, you watch as zigzagoon insantly relaxes. Then zigzagoon's eyes pop open as he realizes that you seem to be no threat to him.


"Oh, my apologies. I thought you were those Charmeleon lackeys that have been trailing me. I swear, I've been wondering whether or not I'd ever get out of this labyrinth."

Zigzagoon lumbers over to where you are, and holds out his paw.

"You guys seem alright, though, and it's always good to see someone who's not trying to attack me. The name's Frankie. I'm one of the many residents of Ffeffni Mountain."

You shake Frankie's paw, and Leo and Pinkyta do the same.

"So," Frankie Continues. "What brings you to this arceus-forsaken cave on Mt. Ffeffni?"

Round 105



Frankie holds a paw up to his mouth as he begins to think.
"Red gem... red gem... Oh! I know! You must be talking about that ruby-colored stone that old wind-bag, Heatmoor, guards.

He seems to recall something. That much is obvious by the grimace that comes and goes from his expression.

"As for how to get to him... there's gonna be a few problems with that. We've recently gotten a, uh, visitor, that came asking about the stone. You may know them. An old gyarados, pretty evil and menacing-looking." As a matter of fact, that does sound rather familiar.

"Anyway, the old guy came to the sage asking about the stone. When heatmoor refused to give away the location of the stone, Gyarados went into a rage and called in the Fire Snakes, the crime gang of Mt. Ffeffni, to attack everything they see.. Heatmoor used the power of the ruby in desperation to sort of "Mix up" the tunnels in this place."

"Wait, what?" you ask. You don't like where this is going.

"Well, I'm sure you've probably noticed by now that the tunnels have been rather straight-forward thus far. Well, I wouldn't bother trying to get out the way you came, 'cause that's an impossibility.

"Thanks to the power of the stone that heatmoor used, this entire branch of the tunnel system of Mt. Ffeffni has been hit with a smoke illusion. Only the pokemon native to this branch of the tunnels - that excludes the Fire Snakes, of course - can find their way through to the exit or heatmoor. Frankly, I'm rather surprised you got in here. I don't know how Gyarados got out, but when he did, he somehow struck Mt. Ffeffni with a horrible blizzard that prevents anyone from getting through."

Frankie takes a moment to think about something, then continues.

"Actually, I think I could lead you to Heatmoor if you really want, but you'd have to stay in contact with me at all times. The illusion's really tough stuff."

Round 106


At the mention of a fight, Frankie puff out his chest and says, "Well, I'll have you know that I once single-handedly captured a human and his Druddigon." As he says this, Frankie polishes his nails on his chest and inspects them. "I'm afraid I might be too much for your little pink ponyta."


Suddenly, Pinkieta's eyes go wide, and she starts hopping and says, "But wasn't the druddigon in her ultra ball? And didn't you have help from a zigzagoon that pretty much did everything?"

Frankie freezes in shock. "How did you know tha- never mind. Anyway, I think I can go for a fight right now." Frankie then gets into a battle position, ready to take pinkieta on.

Pinkieta shrugs, which is a rather strange sight, as you didn't think it was all that possible for a pony to shrug while hopping. "Okie Dokie Lokie, then. A play-fight could be really fun! And then when it's over I could throw you a quick 'sorry you lost' party!"

Wow. Even coming from a fire type, that was a sick burn.

Round 107

Soon enough, the battle between Pinkieta and Frankie Begins. As this begins, Leo decides to pass the time by experimenting with her sketching abilities.
Turning your attention away from Leo, you issue your commands to Pinkieta.

Shooting off like a pink comet, Pinkieta steadily increases her speed by literally running circles around Frankie. Frankie tries to attack, but he can't keep up with the ever-moving pinkieta.
With a majestic leap into the air, Pinkieta lands so that she's facing away from Frankie.

"Yo, Frankie, you wanna hear a joke? It's a real kicker!" Pinkie says, accenting the last word with a strong kick that sends Frankie flying high into the air. He then hits the top of the tunnel before beginning a descent to the floor.
In an instant, Pinkieta dashes over to where Frankie is about to land.

"Don't worry, with your sense of humor..." Pinkieta continues as Frankie rapidly reaches the ground. Frankie's eyes pop wide open as he reaches his destination.
"I think you'll get a good kick out of it!"

To accent her statement, Pinkieta attacks with the second part of her double kick, sending a kick directly into Frankie's stomach.
However, to pinkieta's surprise, her kick is met with a puff of smoke as Frankie's body is swiftly replaced by a zigzagoon plushie.

Dumbfounded, Pinkieta yells to the air, "What?? I didn't even think there WERE zigzagoon plushies!"

"Well, to be honest, me neither." A voice says from seemingly nowhere, as he is nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, the ground beneath Pinkieta gives way, and Pinkieta's pupils shrink to pinpricks as Frankie rises out of it to strike her. Once pinkieta's struck, Frankie hops over to the opposite side of the tunnel.

"But frankly, I really dig them."

"Ooooh, that was a good one," Pinkieta says. After she says this, Pinkieta splits up into a multitude of copies.
"You don't mind if I copy that one, do you?"

Round 108



The two pokemon, ready to continue verbally and physically abusing each other, are quickly interrupted when a terrible roar booms throughout the caves. It's loud enough to actually cause a mini earthquake, which brings both pokemon to their knees in fear.

Before you're able to loudly ask what the hell that was, Frankie quickly exclaims "Oh no, it's The King!"

"The king?" Pinkieta asks. "I didn't know mountains have kings. OOh! Is there a queen then? What about a princess? Or a prince? Or maybe there's one of those silly jesters. I love those things, they're so good at making people laugh. Except when they're not, 'cause then they're rather boring-"

Pinkieta is quickly silenced by Frankie covering her mouth with a paw.

"And you're traveling with this pony? Anyway, The King isn't actually a king. No one really knows what his actual name is, but he's the leader of the Fire Snakes, and he seems to act all high-and-mighty all the time, so the name just stuck."

"So that roar we just heard was The King?" You ask. "That was a pretty loud roar."

"It sounds like he's getting close to Heatmoor. He may have forced one of the natives to help him along." As he says this, Frankie starts to look nervous and scared.
He then turns to you and says, "Alright, trainer, I know this battle isn't done yet, but we need to go and help Heatmoor, ASAP. If we don't, there's no telling what could happen. Heatmoor's strong, but he's not strong enough to take on The King."

Round 109

Just before leaving, you turn to leo to ask how she's faring, only to see her with a....



"What the heck is that?" Frankie asks, after seeing a long, metal contraption attached to Leo's shoulder.

"It looks like some sort of gun." Pinkieta says.

Leo nods at this and sets up what appears to be a bit of a demonstration, setting up a rock on top of a sort of platform.

Frankie takes this moment to ask, "How do you know what a gun looks like?"


"You're questioning my behavior now?" Pinkieta responds.

"...Good point."

After this short exchange, Leo is ready to perform her little demonstration. She sets the gun on her shoulder to the right settings (or at least this is what you can only assume), and she seems to be ready to take a shot. Her little shoulder gun charges up with a bit of energy, and you take a moment to notice that the green part of the tip of her tail begins to faintly glow. At the end of the gun forms a little ball of what appears to be electricity.

Once the gun is charged up enough, the electric ball shoots towards the previously set up rock, which is struck seconds after the shot is made.Once the rock is struck, it explodes, showering bits of rock over you, pinkieta, and frankie.

"Wow," Frankie says. "I think that smeargle just used Zap Cannon. That's an impressive little feat, all things considered."

Leo nods her head at Frankie's comment. She then points to herself and shakes her head, before pointing to the tip of her tail and nodding.

"What does Leo mean by that?" You wonder out loud.

"Oh, she means that she didn't make it. Her tail did. All on its own." Pinkieta says, as if it were obvious.

Frankie looks taken aback before asking, "What, are you saying that tail has a mind of its own? That's crazy!"

"Not really, considering her tail is what led us through the blizzard."

"But what..." Frankie stops talking, pauses, slaps his face with a paw, and continues by saying "Right. I guess it's a stupid idea to question these things. I mean, it's not like I haven't seen anything weird in my life." He then relents to walking onward before stopping, turning around, and asking,

"Shall we continue?"

Round 110


With Frankie as your guide, you make your way to the place in the caverns where Heatmor resides.

"Hehe. That rhymed." Pinkieta remarked.

Quiet, Pinkie, or I'll write you into a pool of sharks.

"That rhymed, too!"

...

Soon, you and your group arrives at Heatmoor's cave, only to see two pokemon duking it out.



It seems to be an oddly-colored charizard against a heatmor!

"It's the elder!" Frankie exclaims.

This little outburst catches the attention of heatmor and the charizard.

"You four!" Heatmor yells. "Quickly, take this!"

Heatmoor then throws an object over to you, which you catch. You then examine what the elder has thrown to you.


You have discovered the Ruby of Fire!
This is the 2nd of 3 gems you need to collect.

Well, it seems this is the 2nd gem that you were looking for. That seemed a lot less ceremonious than the last gem you got.

With Heatmoor's attention off of him, The King lets loose a spew of blue fire that completely engulfs the elder. When the flames die down, heatmor appears to be knocked out.

"Heatmor!" Zigzagoon lets out a cry of anger. "You'll pay for that!"

The King lets out a torrent of flames into the air, which causes a black spot of soot to appear on the rocky ceiling. He then begins to speak.

"Don't make me laugh," The king says, with a deep and dark voice. "Although I must thank you for giving me the distraction I needed to take down that old man. Some people just don't know when to quit."

The King then proceeds to walk towards you and speaks once more.

"I do believe you now are in possession of something that I want. Give me the gem, and no one gets hurt."


What now?
-Give him the gem
-Give him an attack to the face

I hand the gem to leo, pinky double team+ captivate +hypnosis, leo charge up a shock wave+thunder wave while absorbing the fire gem, frankie protect leo then water pulse + thunderbolt, if he gets the gem then thief it back
while they do this I calmly reply "oh, is that so...?" while charging an aura sphere+ focus blast and hurl it at the celling above him, directing it so a chunck of rock falls either on him or in front of whatever entrance his reinforcements may be

Round 111

You toss the gem, already glowing with a golden and ruby light, to Leo. Just like with the previous gem, as Leo makes contact with the gem, the glow intensifies as Leo's tail also begins to glow. The ruby of fire shoots a beam of light into the air, which seems to have no difficulty concerning the probably miles of rock above your heads.

Next, the ruby beam of light comes down on the burn. Leo's tail burns with a golden ruby light, and Leo - now more prepared for it - only lets out a slight whimper at the changes going through the burn. The glow intensifies, to the point where everyone, even The King, look away from it. The glow is bright enough to almost outshine the walls of the cave system you're currently in. In fact, it almost looks like the light from the ruby of fire is intermingling with the light of the caverns.

Finally, the glow dims to the point where everyone looks to see Leo.


You see Leo smiling at her tail, glad to see that the burn is once more overtaken by the red hue of the ruby of fire.

This doesn't last too long, however, as a slew of fire flies past everyone. Everyone turns back to see The King chortling.



"Oh, yes, that is very touching. Your little golden burn is almost gone. However, that should be the least of your worries. Allow me to show you what a real burn looks like."

You, remembering that you have an aura glove on, start charging up a tan sphere with hints of blue within.

"Oh," You calmly reply, as your aura blast finishes charging. "Is that so?"

As you close your statement, you hurl your sphere at the part of the roof that is directly above The King. The ceiling explodes, and a rock slide begins to fall towards him. A few rocks seem to fall into the entrances to the cavern, but it wouldn't seem enough to impede any reinforcements.

The King smirks, and you can see flames appear between his teeth. With a mighty roar, The King lets loose an enormous Fire Blast that instantly melts any rock that comes in contact with it. Once all the rocks are sufficiently melted, the charizard cuts off the flow of fire, and grins at you while molten lava begins to fall around him.

"I honestly hope that's not the best you've got, human."

Thus, the battle begins with


Infernal Lizard that doesn't have a punny name
The King

Pinkieta is the first to move, blinking throughout the field as several clones take to the fight. Just as Pinkieta's about to severely weaken him, The King puts up a protective field to ward off her attacks. He then drops the shield before dashing towards her, claws stretched out to slash one of the clones.

However, before he's able to successfully perform such an attack, he's quickly blind-sided by a water pulse laced with electricity. Suffering a substantial amount of damage from such an attack, The King goes flying into the wall. Even after taking the attack, however, he quickly recovers and lets out a deep roar.

As for Leo, you see that the gem doesn't only affect her tail. The light from her tail now sports a green and red hue. The railgun's attack also seems to look stronger than usual, which is also noticed by The King.

"So, you think you can be ironic and use the gem that I have sought against me? We'll see about that."

The King then dashes towards Leo, just as the Railgun's attack is charged. As the charizard's claws glow with a blue and orange light, Leo's gun lets loose an electric bolt directly towards him. The two attacks collide, and The King grunts in slight pain as the thunder wave part of the attack begins to affect him.

Sparks begin to appear around him as he takes to the air, which isn't a necessarily easy task in this cavern, and spreads out his wings. The sparks disappear as this happens, but you can tell he's now having some difficulties due to the paralysis.

"Not bad," The King beats his wings powerfully as he lets out another roar. "But I have been empowered by those that are almost as powerful as Arceus himself. It will take more than that to defeat me."

Pinkieta hops over to you and whispers, "He's bluffing. Arceus is a pushover."

Round 112

You start throwing some mini aura spheres at The King, and he lets out a few grunts of annoyance as each of them burst against him. He responds by sending a flamethrower directly towards you. Before the flamethrower can hit, however, Pinkieta dashes towards you and knocks you out of the way, before using Agility to quickly dodge the attack.

Using the momentum from her dodge, Pinkieta dashes towards The King, sparks flying with each step. The sparks of electricity intensify, forming a corona of light as Pinkieta picks up speed.

With a leap, Pinkieta tackles The King with a Wild Charge. Before Pinkieta can get away, however, The King clips her side with a Slash, and she cries out in pain. As Pinkieta gets away from The King, she also begins to feel the recoil from using Wild Charge, and she cringes in pain.

Just as The King's about to attack again, however, a glob of spit hits him in the face. He tries to wipe it off, but then the spit turns acidic. The King roars in pain as the poison from the toxic begins to set in, and Pinkieta sports a victorious grin, wiping the slight traces of spit from her mouth.

Frustrated, The King decides that enough is enough, and he stomps one foot on the ground with all his available force. The force of the stomp causes the ground to buckle under his weight, and a shockwave is sent through the earth, knocking the other pokemon over. The shock from the Earthquake is enough to throw off Leo's aim, and the electric attack she was about to send goes off into the ceiling. The electricity is absorbed by the earth, and the attack is rendered useless.

Frankie, not about to be bested by this, quickly get up and leaps into the air.

"This is for attacking the elder!" Frankie lets out a war cry as he releases a torrent of water pulses, each successfully striking The King.

The King tries to send another attack in response, but the paralysis finally takes hold of him, and he is rendered immobile, before cringing as the toxic affects him.

"You lot are getting rather annoying." The king grunts.

You know, I looked back some pages, and apparently I made it so that Whimsicott told you that you'd get the "Sapphire of Ice" from here, not the ruby of fire.

...Just gonna retconn that and tell myself that I said ruby of fire.

Ffeffni Mountain
This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around.
There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here.
Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.


Round 113

You decide it's a good idea to cluster into a neat little formation against the big fire-breathing not-dragon pokemon that probably has a few AOE moves up his sleeves. You issue out commands, and most of your pokemon get ready to defend against what's most likely an onslaught of attacks.

The King smirks.

"Uh-oh." Pinkieta says. "The boss is smiling. That's not usually a good si-"

"GRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RRRRRRRRRRRR"

The king lets loose a terribly loud, terribly scary roar that frightens everyone (including you). You and your pokemon cover your ears, trying to block out as much of the fearsome noise as you possibly can, but The King has you all paralyzed with fear.

Although slowed by paralysis, The King wastes next to no time charging towards you, rage evident in his eyes. He flies up above you, as high as the cavern will allow him, and grins evilly.

"Now face the true power of The King of Mt. Ffeffni!"

The King then faces his head towards the ceiling, a sphere of fire materializing above him. This sphere expands slowly, and it's evident this attack is about to be brutal.

You are barely able to recover from the terror the roar left and quickly dive out of the small area, but your pokemon aren't quite so lucky. You quickly charge up a focus blast at The King, and it ends up hitting, but the charizard merely shrugs it off as nothing before launching a fearsome Overheat directly downwards towards the pokemon. You can only watch as a steady stream of fire strikes your 3 companions.

As the attack strikes, Leo, Pinkieta, and Frankie are blasted off into three different directions. Pinkieta gets blasted towards you, and you dash over to her to assess her injuries.

Considering Pinkieta's a fire type, she doesn't take as much damage as what Leo and Frankie had taken, but it still must have hurt. All in all, though, she doesn't seem to be in too much trouble, although she is mildly dazed from taking such an attack.

"Ugh. I'm ok, don't worry." Pinkieta reassures you by getting back to her four hooves. "Though I can't say for certain about the others. That meanie must've done a number on them."

Pinkieta looks down at the ground, in deep thought.

"Hey," Pinkieta looks back up at you, a determined look now on her face. "I think I might know a way to take this guy down, but it's gonna be risky. Do you trust me? This is gonna take a lot of courage on my end."

"You kidding?" Pinkieta says. "I'm gonna do what I do best."

You say nothing, waiting expectantly for her to say more. Then you realize Pinkieta's not going to reveal anything else.

"...And?" you say, trying to spur her to continue.

"And that's it. Wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you all about it, now would it? Plus, you probably know what I'm talking about, anyway. There is one way that you can help, though."

Pinkieta points in two directions in the cavern. "Go ahead and wake up Leo and Frankie, and tell them to prep up an attack in case something goes wrong. Don't worry, though, there's probably about a 49.91853279% chance of something going wrong, and that's under 50%, so that's a good sign."

You look past Pinkieta and see The King, searching out what he believes to be his quarry. He doesn't seem to know where you and your pokemon landed after the attack, but you don't think you have much time before you or your pokemon are found.

hrmmm ok be careful, I'mma find frankie first and have him get a protect ready then go to leo, if the king goes fter either of them before I get there, I'm going to throw an aura sphere and then attempt a flash to buy some time, when/if I manage to get both of them we're gonna want to charge
