Round Fifty-Four

You pitch your offer to the Nuzleaf and his ears prick up.

"Oh that Drifloon is still about huh? Well sure, it's the least I can do. I'll meet you there!"

The skips as he runs out of the dark exit nearby. As there's nowhere else for you to go, you follow him and find yourself back at the very start of the forest once more. Shrugging to George, you head back over the hill to the top of the yard where Drifloon was hanging about. Your other pokemon Taco and Blazer look overjoyed to see the two of you back. Perhaps leaving your pokemon alone for long periods isn't such a good idea in the future.

You see a small gathering just head and realise that everyone you've helped has turned up.






Noticing your arrival back, Nuzleaf motions to his companions. He whips out a red grass whistle and sits on the dusty floor, the young girls rests on a mossy rock, and the Murkrow hops up a nearby treeling and starts to tap out a beat. As the beat gets a little more complicated, Nuzleaf's high pitched whilste begins, to add body to the tune, and after a little bit of an intro, the girl begins to sing. Her voice is like that of an angel, and though she sings in a language you don't understand it warms your heart and calms your soul.

It seems to have a similar effect on the surrounding cemetary also, as the restless spirits that howl and moan grow quiet, the dark clouds and mists that roll over sky and land part, and Drifloon's closed eyes and drab face become enriched and he seems to glow with happiness.

When the song comes to an end, the three performers stand up and take a bow.

"That was beautiful." Drifloon says "Beautiful. Thank you. I don't think I want to battle after that. If you want me to go with you, then I will."

Round Thirty-Eight

"What do we have to do?" you ask "Oh, I also saw a garden out back."

"Hmm, a garden?" Haunter sounds surprised "That must be new, there never used to be a garden. Perhaps there is an entrance to it back on the ground floor?"

"We can head back down after we've sorted this circle out. Now, what's the plan?"

Haunter nods, and looks at the skull symbol beneath him for a moment. He reads the archiac language that connects the circle to the minds eye beneath Rosalinda, and further on to the Yin Yang beneath Sake. He makes his back to the start, then goes around again, this time in reverse order following another line of text. When he reaches his start position, he moves to hover above his symbol once more.

"Each part of the circle is controlled by a powerful other-wordly energy source. Aura, Psychic and Phantasm. Those three energies are present here in a weakened form holding the circle together. If we can overload it with massive amounts of the energy, then we can break the circle. I will then be able to reform the circle using the leftover energy."

"OK, so what does that require?"

"Rosalinda, Sake and I must use our most powerful attacks that are specifically in tune with those energies, and we must use them all at the same time, aimed at a spot in the centre of the circle. If we attack even slightly out of sync, the attacks will miss and probably hit one or all of us."

"That's not very reassuring."

"I didn't say it would be easy. I know the most powerful Phantasm attack I can perform as a Haunter, do you know what commands to give your pokemon?"

Round Ninety

"Perhaps you are not a member of the Swords of Justice, but you have the stance of a warrior, and the quiet pride of a swordsman. Your not being a pokemon does is not a limitation on the greatness that you can achieve."

The Sudowoodo leaves you to ponder this for a moment as he slowly edges towards a nearby wall. You notice that it is a mural that has not just the images from the four scrolls you just read, but more that seem to tell the stories like a big panel free comic book. At the very top of the mural is an almost heavenly shape in pure white, whilst at the bottom is a black cloud with a menacing set of narrow eyes.

"The Great Terror is like nothing anyone has encountered. Where it came from and what it truly wants is a mystery, but what the stories tell us is that it has only one goal. To destroy. It has no morals over what it eradicates, and no qualms over how it is performed. It feeds on the weak, the frail and the fearful, drinking in the negative emotions created by it's devastation to make itself strong. It has no form, no body, but it can be cut and it can be hurt. It shies away from the light, and can be overcome by powerful positive emotions. Or at least, that's what the legends tell us."

Round One Hundred Twelve



You head over to the Mr Mime who appears to be leaning against an invisible pole whilst reading and invisible newspaper and eating an invisible pastry of some kind. The Great Panto Mimos ignores you as you approach.

"Excuse me?" you say, but he ignores you.

"Excuse me!?" you try again, this time waving in his face. The actions catch his eyes and he greets you, has a short conversation with you and then goes back to his paper. All in mime of course, meaning you got nothing out of him.

"Do you know anything about an injured Honchkrow passing through these parts?"

Panto Mimos' eyes flash up at you. He quickly drops his pastry and paper, and slams a door in your face, locks it up with several bolts and chains, zips to the side to pull the curtains shut, and then ducks down and hides under a blanket. All in mime of course, so you can still see him on the floor shaking, glancing up occasionally he sees you and hunkers down closer. Doesn't look like you'll get many answers out of him today. Looking back for either the Magnemites or the Spinarak you notice both have disappeared.

"Psst.

The quiet whisper catches your attention, but you don't see anyone around.

"Psst!

A little louder this time, you look about for the source. You see a shadowy figure hiding behind a tent flap, beckoning for you to follow.

- Now what?

Alright, Rosalinda, you try using Psychic.
Sake, you try using Aura Sphere.

Those two attacks are too fitting to not try.

We do have a problem. See, my acquaintance Cobalion here, we're looking for his body. Darwin somehow became infused with Cobalions fighting prowess, and so we're keeping it safe-but I know at some point I'd like to put Mr Pissy Pants back together again.

And I'm thinking we might have to go down and check on this well. Fastest way down for us?

You grab a pokeball and throw it at Drifloon.

You caught Drifloon! The musicians all smile, Murkrow flutters off back to his nest, whilst Nuzleaf takes a bow and walks off, playing a slower, mellow song on his grass whistle. The young girl smiles and approaches you

"You did a good thing for this Drifloon. He's been so sad since his older sister, a Drifblim, left to be with a Mismagus. I hope he has many an adventure in your care."

She leaves you and your pokemon alone, as the pokeball is teleported away. That's four out of five pokeballs used.

Round Ninety-One

"Your companion is in possession of a Soul Sword. Hmm. I do not know how a sword separated from it's true self can be reunited, but I will try and find out for you. To reach the well, you must return to the Temple of New Beginnings, where our ancestors built from the original well all the way up to Skyline Terrace. My grandson should have now assembled all the priests of our order. They will guide you to the Temple."

The old Sudowoodo points you outside as he wanders off to start digging through old scrolls.

"Come find me when you have reunited spirit and body."

You step outside and a handful of pokemon are waiting for you.



"We will guide you to the entrance of the temple" the Sudowoodo explains "My father has put great faith in you, I hope for all our sakes he is right."

You accompany the group as you make haste towards the temple. It is not a far walk, past the landing platform where you first arrived here. Soon you find yourself at a squat, but ornate Pagoda. The door shows signs of forced entry.

"Inside the Temple is a secret doorway that leads to the Guardian Well. Access to it is forbidden to anyone but those of the highest of our order. If it has been breached, then the Guardian's sleep will be at risk."

"And if the Gurdian is woken?" you ask.

"Skyline Terrace will fall."

"Then I'll make sure it is not disturbed."

You enter the Pagoda, accompanied by your pokemon and Cobalion's spirit (who has remained silent for a long time). Inside it is dark, any torches that had once been lit are now smoking only, having been extinguished already. Threre are a few pokemon lying on the floor, looking like they have put up a battle, but they are completely unconscious. The other pokemon move to tend to them. Ahead of you is a great mural similar to the one you have previously seen. However this one has been blown apart, and a set of stairs is visible behind it.

- What now?

On guard now folks. Priests, I'd advise to move the wounded outside.

Cobalion, you're with me. We'll head up the stairs togetherfirst. You might be able to see something I can't. You three follow once we're halfway up.

Round One Hundred Thirteen

Psst..

You follow the hissing whispers and the shadowy figure beneath the tent flap into a small tent with a round table in the middle. Atop the table is a crystal ball, and luxurious middle-eastern veils and scarves hang in every visible space. With one of these veils wrapped around itself, a shiny Mewoth peers outside quickly, then pulls the flap tightly closed. She clicks her fingers, and the dim lights inside the tent flare slightly, making things a lot easier to see. The Meowth pulls back the veil and looks up to you.



"My name is Lady Farsi, and you risk great danger coming here and asking of the Krows."

Your blank, somewhat confused face causes her to reassess things. She sighs and nods, as if knowingly.

"Yes, but you do not know who the Krows are, you have only just arrived." she sits by the srytal orb and runs a paw across it. The orb sparkles and images appear in the glass. "The Krows are the gang that run this theme park. And by run, I mean control it. They're gangsters, nothing more, nothing less. They let the theme park go about its business, but they take most of the earnings for themselves. The big top is sitting on a treasure trove the likes of which you have never seen before. They call it 'protection', but I've never seen anyone threaten us except for them."

"A few days ago, a gang of the MurKrows came back with an injured Honchkrow. They took him into the big top, and nobody has seen or heard about him since. If my reading of you is right.. and I'm always right (if I may say so), then you will want to meet the Head HonchKrow. Luciano is not to be trifled with, there are few who do not fear him, and fewer still that will take a stand against him."

Round Thirty-Nine


Nodding in understanding and agreement, the three pokemon face each other. Haunter charges a Shadow Ball, Sake charges and Aura Sphere, and Rosalinda shapes a similar globe of pure psycho energy. The three release their attacks simultaneously, where upon they all collide in the centre of the circle. The Aura bleeds into the floor and seeps into all the symbols, lifting them off the ground and into the air. The shadow billows outwards like ripples in a still pond, each consecutive wave causing the symbols to flake and break up. The psychic energy then explodes, and the force of the blast scatters the fractured symbols, destroying the circle entirely. Litwik and Haunter let out a gasp as they feel an energy lifted from them.

"What happened?" you ask.

"It worked!" Haunter exclaims "I don't feel anything forcing me away from the house anymore, there's nothing holding me back. Do you feel any different? Like you want to stay here?"

You think about it for a second, the realise "No, I don't want to stay here. This place gives me the creeps. But I have to get to the bottom of this, so I must stay here for that."

<Your efforts are commendable> a powerful voice shakes the foundations of the house. It takes you a few seconds to realise it is not the house shaking, but you. The voice pounds against the walls of your mind <But they are pointless. I no longer need the protection the spell offered, I have what we were searching for.>

"Who are you?" you whisper. It appears that nobody else can hear the voice and they stare at you with confusion.

<I am the next stage in pokemon evolution.>

The mind presses down on you like a Snorlax sat on your back, but you fight it with all of your strength. Finally it is lifted, and you take a breath as though you hadn't been breathing at all. You look up to your pokemon, and they rush to you in concern. Haunter tilts his head, confused then takes a sudden deep breath as his eyes go wide with fear. A flash of light envelops him and he vanishes form the room. A second flash takes Litwik too, leaving you Rosalinda and Sake alone in the attic.

- What now?

Lady Farsi, if you don't mind me asking, can you look into the crystal ball and tell me where I will locate my missing Pokemon and Jirachi? :3 After that, I'll head to the big top.

"Rosalinda, now that the circle is gone, try to pinpoint the location of that psychic energy if you can. Although, I think I know where we're going."

Let's walk down to the ground floor and, if Rosalinda finds where the psychic energy is coming from, let's go there. If not, let's head to the garden out back, anyway.

Round Forty

Rosalinda immediately reaches out with her mind to seek the presence of the being that caused the ache in your mind. She recoils in sudden shock.

"There is a powerful psychic presence beneath the mansion. I could not pinpoint it exactly, it sensed me and blocked me out."

"Then we head for the garden." you say.

You make your way back down. Leaving the attic down through the study. You pass by the great hall, and notice that there is no longer any music playing. The hall, where once looked like a ballroom full of life and people, now appears as dank and forgotten as the rest of the house. To your horror you see the broken remains of pokeballs, rucksacks, and the odd scrap of clothing, the remains of the trainers that came and fell victim to the house. A green cap lies against the wall where the young girl had appeared to tempt you. Sake pulls you away, and you head further down the house until you reach the ground floor. Rosalinda points in the direction of the small door at the far end of the hall, directly opposite the front entrance. You follow it, along the corridor and push open two glass doors and enter the garden.

A tall brick wall surrounds the large garden, and a shallow river runs around the edge of the garden, over which you cross on a small bridge. The loud sound of running water catches your attention and you turn to see a great waterfall, pouring water into a pool, that supplies the river. The source of the waterfall isn't apparent, but not everything in the mansion has made sense yet. Deadly nightshade climbs up the walls on both sides of the waterfal, bunching together at the very top where a hideous black onyx gargoyle sits, staring down at your with a snarl.

"I can feel the presence nearby." Rosalinda says

Round One Hundred Fourteen



Lady Farsi nods and waves another hand over the crystal ball. An image of a shiny Honchkrow appears, and he does not look like the kind of bird you want to mess with. Big, bulky and with a vicious sneer that could make even the toughest pokemon shudder. The image fades to another Honchkrow, this one isn't shiny, but it does look like it's recovering from a fight. One wing is taped up, and there are signs of feathers having been pulled out and fresh wounds being treated.

"I see a strong bond between you and this Honchkrow, no doubt you recognise him as a team member. He is safe and being treated well."

The image wavers to another. This time it flickered to an image of a blue Ditto. The ditto was alone in a dark cave, but it was clearly fending for itself, and surviving on a diet of cave lichen and fresh condensation.

"This pokemon is waiting for you. It has searched for you, but you have moved around too much for it to find you properly. He is close by. Not here at Dysfunction Land, but I feel you will be reunited soon. It is eager to see you again, I can sense it thinks of you often and it's team mates often."

The image faded once again, and this time the pokemon at the end of your journey appears. Jirachi, curled into a tiny ball with it's eyes barely visible, gently sleeping amidst the branches of a great tree with sparkling silver leaves. The face of Jirachi is replaced by that of a human who you are starting to get tired of seeing. Richard.

"I do not know who he is, but he is very closely related to Jirachi and the wishing pokemon's fate. I sense.. it is difficult to explain. It feels like there are pieces missing, that their fate is shattered. I will try to... there..."

Two pokemon flash up in quick succession. Togetic. Raichu. No more pokemon appear and the images fade.

"From these three pokemon I sense distrust and longing. There is no more to see."

"Thanks Lady Farsi. Can you point me in the direction of Luciano's big top tent?"

Lady Farsi grimaces but nods. "If you insist. It is in the very centre of the park. As the sun is setting, it is the point from which all the string lights descend. Luciano will be at the big top to watch the show, but he will be surrounded by his bodyguards. Please be careful."

Round Fifty-Six

Sticking with Grave's Yard you decide to hunt out a Psychic type to fill your roster, and use that final pokeball. As you've trekked around much of the cemetery, you decide to take a different path, this time returning to the graves themselves, and going further along the lines of tombstones, passing by the many floral arrangements that have been laid out for humans and pokemon alike.

Before you long you come across two pokemon having a rather heated argument.



They're argument doesn't seem to have kind of point, and they don't appear to be making any headway.

Round Ninety-Two

The priests agree and begin to pull the wounded outside, whilst you and Cobalion take front and centre and descend the stairs. They are long and steep, with torches lit along the way, leading you down deep into the bowels of the temple, possibly as deep as the Maos Temple had been, albeit without the tests of courage and strength. As you keep going lower, your other pokemon follow taking up the rear, with Virizon the closest of the three. Soon the glow of more torch light appears to light the bottom of the steps. You and Cobalion's spirit approach slowly, peering into a great chamber just like the one in Maos, but this one has a plainly built well in the centre. Standing around it are two figures.



But it is what is behind them that catches your eye more. On a stone dias, just like the one before, lies a still and lifeless body.



"Monsters!" Cobalion cries out before you can stop him, and he charges into the room. His appearance shocks the woman and old man, but as he is a spirit only, they quickly compose themselves, but their faces betray their emotions.

"How!?" the woman growls "How can you be here? You should have been devoured by the demon!"

"Man for an 'Iron-willed' pokemon you sure are hot headed." you grumble, stepping out into the chamber. Your other three pokemon stay back out of sight "Hello again. Senka wasn't it? You will give Cobalion back his body, or this wont end well."

"Get rid of him." The old man says, ignoring your presence completely, as he moves slowly around the edge of the well, staring down it with intent. Senka flicks her fan in one direction, and three ghosts appear out of nowhere, pumped and ready for a fight.



- What now?

Looks like I'm outgunned 0 to three. Oh yeah, wait, no I'm not.

Guys, swarm in and let's just keep the ghosts engaged. Cobal, stay AWAY from the well! I'ma pick up a rock and throw it at the dude's face.

Round Ninety-Three



Elegance, Vigilance and Darwin pile through the chamber entrance and each take a ghost each. Elegance launches a Seed Bomb at Gengar, the explosion knocking the poison type backwards giving the Sword a breaking point at which to further the attack. Dawrin, wielding the Sword of Cobalion slashes away at Cofagrigus' many arms as they twist and turn in an attempt to grab the weapon, but the Kanga is just to fast. Vigilance keeps Dusknoir at bay with powerful wings and air slices.

In the mean time, Senka and her father are facing each other with the well between them. They are muttering words in a strange language again. Intent on disrupting them, you grab a chunk of debris from the floor and toss it at the man's head. The rock flies straight through the man as if he weren't there, hitting the floor beyond him. A smirk crosses the old man's face but he never misses a beat and continues with the chant. A white light begins to glow within the well.

You turn back to the battle and see that the ghosts have regained their composure and are battling one on one with your pokemon in a much more focused fashion. Cobalion stands before his body, staring at it intently.

- What now?

Lets see what they're fighting about and see if we can resolve it (I want that Solosis)

Round Forty-One

You point Sake and Rosalinda towards the waterfall before following them. You're about to step into the pond yourself when a cry of pain from both the Meinshao and Gardevoir make you stop mid stride. Both have stepped foot under the waterfall and not only been repelled by it, but have taken damage too. On closer inspection you can see a strange glow coming from the top of he waterfall, almost like a portal from which the water is descending. Carefully, you place the palm of your hand on the water of the pond, and pull it away instantly as the feeling of a massive wave crashing down on you is channelled through the palm of your hand all through your body.

"Somehow, I don't know how.." you muse to your pokemon "It's like that waterfall is an actual attack. Maybe a Waterfall move, or Surf. maybe a combination of both. Rosealinda, check out that Gargoyle head, see if there's anything weird about it."

The psychic nods and lifts herself up from the ground and floats nearer to it. She reaches out again, careful that she does not get hit by the falling water and begins to mentally examine the structure. A few seconds pass when she snaps out of the link. The gargoyle starts to move, as if climbing out from the wall. Rosalinda returns to your side and you watch as the head emerges from the wall, and followed by a thickset body moves down the wall towards the waterfall. The gargoyle buries its head into the peak of the waterfall and disrupts the flow, causing it to slip to either side like a pair of curtains. The pond quickly empties leaving a path through the waterfall and into a cave behind. At the end of the cave you can make out a heavy steel door that is very out of place in the old mansion.

Skyline Terrace
A strange town, all within the treetops. Long since abandoned by humans, the MASSIVE amount of Pokemon that live here all seem a bit strange and off kilter.
The completely aerial town is connected by boards, and the homes all resemble traditional Japanese style.
One would think the townspeople were turned into Pokemon here!

Elegance, cover fire! Seed Bomb the ghosts

Vigil, mid tier, Hurricane please!

Darwin, hop over here and help me move this body! Maybe its time we put Grumpty Dumpty back together again

Darwin follows your lead, slicing hard and fast at the Cofagrigus allowing a moment to dodge away from its attacks and make a clear run for the lifeless body of Cobalion. Elegance provides cover for you as you move towards the body, raining explosive seeds upon the three ghosts whilst Vigilance takes to the space above and blows a powerful hurricane that catches the seeds and forces them at the phantoms, whilst at the same time keeping them held back.

You and Darwin grab the body but even with all your strength it is impossible to move it even an inch.

"It's no use." Cobalion says "Spirit, Soul and Body are in too close a proximity, they are trying as hard as possible to reunite. You will not be able to move them, the bond between the three is too great."

"Can you do it then? Reunite the three parts?"

"I.." Cobalion stops and closes his eyes for a moment. He reopens them and tilts his head in a half nod. "I believe I can re-enter my body yes. But I will need to concentrate deeply in order to get it done. No distractions, no interruptions. Can you promise me that?

"I'll do what ever it takes."

Cobalion nods and moves to stand directly opposite his own body. He stares into the vacant eyes of the body and a faint blue aura begins to form around him.

"Darkest Light!"

The call from Elegance turns your attention back to the battle. Despite being held back by gale force winds and explosive seeds, the ghosts have managed to sneak out using the shadows in the walls and get behind their foes. A chain of blue wisps encircles Elegance, lightly burning his floral body with each pass, whilst a miasma of poisonous spores float in the air around Vigilance as the Pidgeot drops out of the sky. A shadow ball narrowly misses your head as it heads for Cobalion, but it is interrupted by Darwin, who steps in front of it to absorb the ineffective attack. The white glow from the well begins to grow brighter and the chanting from the woman and man is faster and more intense.

The ghosts move to attack again.

Round One Hundred Fifteen

You recall Moonscape so the presence of a Legendary pokemon does not cause a scene and head towards the big top. As Lady Farsi said, all of the strings of fairy lights lead towards it, and it's not difficult to find. As you approach you see a small line of people and pokemon waiting to go inside. Two burley Granbull march around the tent, apparently acting as security guards. Another Granbull appears from behind the tent carrying a Sentret.

"Hey, let me go!" the Sentret cries, but is ignored.

"Caught 'im tryin' to sneak in." the Grandbull grunts "You know what 'appens to anyone 'o tries to sneak in? They get thrown out!"

"Thrown out!?" Sentret squeals "I didn't get in, how can I get thrown out?"

"No of the Big Top," Granbull answers with a grin "Of the whole park!"

"What? Wait no.."

The Sentre's cries are ignored as the Granbull puts all his strength into a wind up pitch, and tosses the Sentret into the sky, where it flies off and vanishes with a twinkle. The thre Grandbull guffaw like thugs and go back to their patrol. Some people in the queue shudder. You join the back of the queue and get read to enter the big top. The queue moves quite quickly, and before long there are just a few people in front of you. A Murkrow sits on a perch with a box and a pile of coins next to it. A sign hanging in front of him reads

No Tickets, no entry!

You realise you don't have a ticket to get in, but it's too late as the line moves on and you come face to face with the Murkrow.



"Ticket!" it squawks.

"Umm.. I didn't realise I needed one?"

"No ticket, no entry!"

"How much are they?"

"Luxury seating, $500. First Class seating, $400. Basic Seating, $300. Economy Seating, $200. Floor, $100."

"How much!?"

"No ticket, no entry! No money, no ticket!"

- Now what?

"Hey shut up!" you yell and the two come to a sudden silence and face you. "Thank you. What on earth are you arguing about?"

The Gothita frowns and says "Solosis is a coward who wont ever battle!"

Solosis' aura flares and it shouts back "Liar! I can and will battle!"

"Liar, you're a coward!"

"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"

Round Forty-Two

Cautiously and keeping an eye out for anything dangerous or about to attack, you head under the split waterfall and into the cave behind. The path slopes down and you seem to be walking beneath the ground floor of the house. As Rosalinda said, there is a presence 'beneath' the mansion. When you reach the door, you try to pull and push it open, but it is firmly locked in place.

You spot a numerical keypad by the side of the door.



It appears to control the door lock.

"All right then I will!" Solosis cries, a little to eagerly. Gothita stares at him, mouth agape, then moves to sit on the floor and watch, arms crossed with an angry, miffed look on her face.

"But it has to be a fair fight! One on one, and you can't use your Blaziken!"

Blazer looks a little sad, but nods in understanding. Taco and George perk up and look excited.
