Hey guys. Uh, sorry about the absence but I had summer work and the like I was doing for school. Aaaanyways, I saw the talk of revitalizing the ASB and I think that could work well. Basically you want to find a forum that is alive with people and who love pokemon. I tend to rp a lot on the Pokecommunity forum and they have a games section there as well. I haven't seen any ASB stuff there, so perhaps you could try and establish the ASB there too? It has a lot of members, and is very newbie friendly. It would probably require everyone having to reset their profiles all over and just starting fresh, but you could find new members who will be more than eager to try and ref games and there could be an explosion of popularity if you advertise the new area well enough.

Mmmm, Pokemon Community is a good choice. Another is Bulbagarden, though I don't know how it's ASB History would affect any proposed branches.

I admit I don't know the system as well as you fine folks do, but it's probably not necessary to restart all over again. I think any issues related to not staring over could be worked out.

I would never join Bulbagarden, sorry. TPM is the only Pokemon forum for me.

That's understandable. I think that if you had an additional branch of ASB, you could participate in whatever forum you wanted. And Pokemon Community and Bulbagarden are simply options. There are other Pokemon forums out there if neither of those two fit.

You guys... You see, I've been working on a ASB-Forum for a good year now. It was finished, completely designed, but it was only used as the safari-zone forum for the people here.
So, I kinda let it go, and just recently, I let the webspace I rented run out. It would be no trouble whatsoever to revive it though, for a test year or something. It was used for the people here in the first place anyway. ^-^

Don't get me wrong now by the way, not trying anything funny here, as I said, the forum ran out anyway for now, I'll just revive it when there is any demand, and I only wrote that here because people suggested something the like.

Don't want to sound rude and unfriendly, but I can't help wondering why you guys even talk about this and how come TPM Administration hasn't expressed their concern? Just play ASB in your own forum as and if you wish, don't get our forum involved, we will do things in our way as soon as new referees apply or old ones come back. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

just popping in to say I'm still here! I'm not going to be too active though due to the fact I am in college and am (planning on) running a D&D session otherwise I would try to ref again, as for forums I'm staying here, this place has slowed down considerably but I'm being optimistic (plus none of the other forums seem to have similar enough rules/a small enough group)

I think the concern is activity. The place needs a little more than a small jolt or it could fade away.

I don't thinking starting a new forum would solve the problem. I think that would divert resources away from what's needed.

With solid leadership, ASB and its members can form a plan of action to increase activity by addressing long term needs. I think there are many solutions, but they all require organization and will.

So... We totally need ONE of the refs to step forward and volunteer as tribute... To ref a few few SMALL matches. Get some more life back here. Nothing more than 1 on 1's to start with. See if we can bring the old girl around.

I'm definitely in agreement with Ayeun on the ref thing...I wish I could step up to be a ref though, but with all the other "needs" that should be fulfilled here to liven up the place, it's hard for me to see reffing again being worth it in the long run.

But maybe, just maybe, if at least one of our moderators here gets more active and finds enough time to look over ASB, things may start happening. That's just my two cents...mainly because without a leader, some things here just won't be possible (such as getting a new Pokemon or new evolution approved at the Approval Tower).
