"I received a call from Mayor Garbodor of the Old Village who claimed that you assaulted a Trubbish she employs. More importantly, she informed me you're resisting the evacuation orders. With all due respect, Pokemon trainer, our unit cannot tolerate this kind of behaviour. Given the presence of a viral agent in the Safari Zone, we must evacuate all uninfected humans as quickly as possible, as we cannot allow a trainer to become infected and carry the virus into the outside world. Suddenly, you hear loud noises below. Glancing downward, you that see a number of Team Magma goons have arrived at the scene. They release a slew of Fire-type Pokemon, causing the Team Aqua grunts to summon various Water-types to come to their aid. The Pokemon then begin battling in the great basin of Crush Quarry.






"How short-sighted," Elegance says, watching the action below. "They intend to stop Team Aqua's assault, but a battle of such large proportions could very well destroy Crush Quarry. This could be disastrous."

They do just that. They close their eyes and comb the chambers of your mind. After a brief pause, their eyes snap open in unison.

"This Pokemon trainer is telling the truth," one of the Kadabra says. "Mayor Garbodor's aide confessed it all. She's behind everything. She unleashed this."

"Indeed, that looks to be the case," Special Agent Geller replies. "This is quite troubling. Also troubling is the fact that this Pokemon trainer was in such close proximity with an infected Mantyke and Clauncher for so long. They may very well have transmitted the virus to him and his allies."

"We're not infected!" Senic says crossly. "That's ridiculous. We'd know if we were infected. Besides, I'm pretty sure, as a Poison-type, I can't be infected."

"The protocols are clear, Grimer," Geller says solemnly. "Until we have empirical knowledge of all of the viral agent's potential transmission methods, we must err on the side of caution and consider you three infected. We cannot allow you to leave the Safari Zone. Moreover, we must place you all under quarantine. I know your intentions are noble, human, and I thank you for the information you have provided us, but there's no other way around this. My directives are clear. Lieutenant, I require the Essence of Spore."

One of the Kadabra procures a syringe. He hands it off to Geller, who approaches you. Rosalinda lets out a panicked cry and fires off a Dazzling Gleam, but Geller calls up a Protect. He then waits for Rosalinda's Safeguard to fade. She grunts as she tries to bring it back, but she can't fight through the Taunt. Geller then drives the syringe into one of your dangling legs.

"I'm sorry," he murmurs.

All goes black.

"There are stairwells on either end of this floor," Senic explains. "I made sure to barricade them. There's also an elevator in the middle of the floor, though I haven't checked to see whether it's operational. Before we go, I want to show you something. Follow me."

Senic leads you down the hallway of the Pokemon Center. He takes you into what looks to be a staffroom. In the middle of the room is a table with a map of the Safari Zone. It's been marked up with pen.

"Before the staff abandoned the Pokemon Center a few days ago, they were working on this," Senic says. "I could hear them talking about it from my room. They were monitoring news reports and annotating the map accordingly. Apparently, there are a few strongholds where survivors have gathered and protected themselves from the zombies. You can see their locations are marked here: Hunter's Cove, Aqueous Ruins, Wagwhomp Swamp and the Abandoned Playhouse. I don't know if those strongholds are still protected, and I don't know whether there might be other strongholds the Pokemon Center staff never heard of. All the news outlets stopped broadcasting yesterday, so this is all we have to go off of. If Chie, Bulbob and Rosalinda are still alive, they will hopefully have found their way to one of the strongholds."

As Manaphy hums, the surface of Ivy Lake continues to stir. A great wind picks up, causing a whirlpool to form in the middle of the water. Meanwhile, Musketeers continue to concentrate.



The whirlpool opens a gap in the middle of the lake. Standing there is none other than Keldeo. He springs out of the lake and lands on the edge of the water.



"Comrades, you have summoned me," Keldeo says. "It is an honour to be with you once more. What circumstances have brought about this reunion?"

"Virizion and Cobalion here and have decided to give into what I've been wanting all these years," Terrakion says smugly. "We're going to wage war against all the blasted humans! Together we must wreck them and trample any who set foot in the Safari Zone."

"I am honour-bound to serve my comrades," Keldeo says. "If that's what you wish, I will comply."

"Okay, it's charged!" Manaphy says, rippling with bright light. "So... wait, Cobalion is in which body again? Your Pidgeot or your Kangaskhan?"

It seems like Manaphy's bright light has drawn some attention. Terrakion peers up at you flying overhead and growls.

"It's a human!" he roars. "We must attack!"

The quadruple attack strikes Vigilance/Elegance, knocking them clear out of the air and unseating the other passengers. They all start falling to the ground. Suddenly, a pair of pink energy hearts extend from Manaphy's plummeting body, though the accuracy of the Heart Swap seems to be compromised. One heart starts wafting toward Keldeo.

"Keldeo, don't let it hit you!" Virizion shouts with a voice that sounds a little like Senka. "Smack it away!"

The other heart starts making its way toward you.
