You can just feel the distinct urge to sing "Proud Mary," as IEC'd is rolling around like it's nobody's business.
With an evil grin, however, Roiyaru plans to "Muddy Up" those plans



Roiyaru throws some particularly slippery mud directly into IEC'd's path, and the little seed doesn't think to go around the mud patch. Plowing straight into the mud, IEC'd quickly loses traction, and he runs straight into the wall of the warehouse building.
A few zubat are disturbed from the resulting rumble that resounds throughout the building, but they quickly go back to their spots in the rafters. Phew, that was close.
[Roiyaru: -6 energy ¦ IEC'd: -8 health; -6 energy]

Still sporting that cocky grin, Roiyaru decides to keep up the momentum by shooting some shock waves towards IEC'd. The electricity hits the seed, but not before he shoots a sharp barb Roiyaru's way. The barb hits Roiyaru in the chest, and Roiyaru instantly feels a small amount of energy leave her. Huh. That was kind of a let-down. Not really a smart idea, using giga drain on a poison type.
[Roiyaru: -4 health; -8 energy ¦ IEC'd: -8 health; +2 health; -6 energy]

Roiyaru starts the next turn by sporting ghostly claws at the end of her right paw. She sprints over to IEC'd, who makes another attempt at a Giga Drain by shooting another barb at Roiyaru. She grunts as the barb sucks some more life out of her, but Roiyaru ignores it as she begins slashing IEC'd with her ghostly claw, also grunting as she hits the sharp spikes located throughout IEC'd's body.

Round 15


Now that IEC'd's current trainer realizes that, no, Nidorina isn't part Ground type, the little seed begins charging static electricity in preparation for an attack.
However, Roiyaru won't have that. The nidorina then begins to screech at a pitch that might rival that of a zubat.
However however, IEC'd's attack manages to go through right before he's hit with the full force of the supersonic. Once the attacks hit, both pokemon fall flat on their backs for two completely different reasons.

In the heat of the moment, it seems that IEC'd is under plenty of confusing pressure. Breaking down under this pressure, he suddenly starts to nibble on one of his sharp spines. OW! THAT had to hurt.
Meanwhile, Roiyaru points a finger at IEC'd- WOAH!!!! Naughty finger, Roiyaru. DL, control that Nidorina!
Anyway... Roiyaru shoots a bolt of electricity that doesn't necessarily help IEC'd's confusing situation.
[Roiyaru: -8 energy ¦ IEC'd: -10 health; -5 health; (confusion); -3 energy]

Roiyaru gears up for her next attack while.... wow, IEC'd is still going at it with them spikes. Really, that's gotta sting. A lot.
Well, let's hope it at least stings more than Roiyaru's attack, which is a ray of cold blueish-whiteness that drops the temperature in here a couple of degrees. The sudden drop in temperature seems to irritate the zubat up on the ceiling, and they seem to be getting a little pissed. It'd probably be best to not do anything to disturb them again.
The cold attack strikes IEC'd directly, but there doesn't seem to be any freezing of any kind. IEC'd does, however, manage to snap out of his confusion due to the shock of the cold.

Round 16

Roiyaru sends a bolt of electricity IEC'd's way, while the little seed decides to send MORE seeds towards the nidorina's way. The seed *boops* Roiyaru on the nose, and various thin vines entangle her, gradually sapping her health.
... wait, if ferroseed is technically a seed, and he creates more seeds, wouldn't that be... Oh god, I'm not gonna read too far into that. For the sake of my sanity.

IEC'd decides to generate some electricity of his own. However, as soon as he launches said electricity, it just so happens to strike the glob of mud that had come streaking towards him. The contact causes some overdone explosion that really should belong in some Michael Bay movie, and the Zubat don't seem to be too happy about it. In fact, they're so pissed off that they actually start swarming once more!
The zubat swarm our two combatants with Air Slashes, Wing attacks, bites, etc., and some have their fill of violence and leave.

Through the onslaught of the most annoying pokemon found in any cave, Roiyaru takes a leap towards IEC'd, teeth bared, in an attempt to do some damage. For a while, it seems as if her plan might work. She sails through the swarm of zubat without colliding with any, which seems to be quite lucky.
However, she ends up not being QUITE so lucky, as she collides with a protective barrier. IEC'd starts chillaxing while Roiyaru takes the heat of the swarm instead of him.

Oh my god, I have just had the worst derp moment ever.

Here I was, just having this reffing done (I have been trying to keep up a "One Reffing per day" compromise, and it seems to be working thus far), all of my calculations and stuff done, and I was about to post this next round.

But then I realized I had forgotten to take the factor of the zubat swarm into account for whatever reason.

I would have gone back over the reffing and had it redone, but my brother had to take the computer, so I didn't have any time to.

I'll have this reffing done tomorrow, just posting this to both remind myself and explain(read: reprimand) myself xD

Still faced with an onslaught of zubat, IEC'd decides to take a more defensive approach by digging his roots into the ground in search of nutrients.
Keeping up on the offensive, Roiyaru leaps up into the air, sails through the cloud of zubats (all the while being hammered with attacks), and strikes IEC'd with a double kick that does plenty of damage.

IEC'd seems to be on his last legs, and Roiyaru acknowledges that fact. In an attempt to take that seed out, Roiyaru fires a bolt of lightning IEC'd's way. The lightning strikes, and... THE SEED IS STILL STANDING!
In an amazing show of willpower, IEC'd is still barely standing after numerous attacks from the remaining zubats AND a thunderbolt.
IEC'd, confident on making this last iota of health count, sends various waves of confusing sound towards Roiyaru.
Clutching her ears at the noise, Roiyaru's mind soon becomes warped at the confusing sound waves that continue to assault it.
Good news, though. The zubat swarm has had their fill of blood and has decided to leave!

With Roiyaru's mind veiled in confusion, one must think that IEC'd must surely be in the clear if his luck holds out.
Sadly, within that veil of consusion, Roiyaru barely makes out a lick of sense that pierces the shading enough to spot her target. Hell-bent on revenge for IEC'd's creation of the confusing veil, Roiyaru fires one last bolt of electricity that fries IEC'd on the spot. Shame, he was just about to get that health pick-me-up from Ingrain that wouldn't have really helped at all.

Frustrated with another loss, Cynder storms back to the table on the sidelines and randomly picks up a random pokeball. She haphazardly tosses the pokeball out onto the field, and her new pokemon appears!

Hm. Looks like she gets her own Male Natu, Horus (@Magic Bounce)! Seems like this is going to get kind of interesting.

A green mist, however, encroaches upon the arena, spreading its influence throughout, and the entire arena begins to shake with what must be sheer terror.
The mist becomes tangible, becoming a wind that storms throughout the arena, blowing away all of the dust, and of the passage of time itself, as the once-battlers of the arena are brought back to life. Their bones lift into the air, and the wind surrounds them in a seemingly loving embrace. The winds of time restore the arena, and its battlers, back to their original state, as if no time at all had passed since we last left our battlers.

Horus starts the round off right by sending out righteous mind beams at his opponent, using the exact opposite method that his egyptian namesake would have used.
These mind waves knock Roiyaru back a distance, and roiyaru responds by shrieking in the young warrior's face, making Horus considerably confused.

...at least it would have, if the sound waves didn't miss due to some sort of sciency mumbojumbo that I wouldn't care to explain. Seriously, how do sound waves miss?

Since it's been quite a while since I've reffed a battle, and the somewhat recent changes to reffing in general, I decided to make up a new template.
also, pardon the apparent inconsistencies with the damage amounts now compared to before the hiatus, I decided to scale everything up a bit, but other than that it's the same.
I also couldn't remember if this battle had a damage cap or not, considering it never became an issue with the previous damage scale I had, so I decided to put a damage cap.

Horus feels a bit miffed about the EFC stuff earlier (maybe he heard what I said? He's looking at me kind of weirdly all of a sudden...), so he decides to finish of-
Oh! Ow! Oof! That looked like it hurt! Looks like before Horus even got the chance to attack, Roiyaru went all Set on his bum and Sucker Punch-stabbed a claw into his gut while setting a layer of spikes in his wake. That did not look pretty.

In vengeful retaliation, however, Horus answers with a level of hatred I haven't seen since the EFC comment of 2014! Oh, wait, that was a few hours ago.
At any rate, the psychic energy finally finishes Roiyaru.
