Hm, off topic, but when we learn English at school, the teachers are always talking about the present, the imperfect and the perfect and so on. But I guess it's a bit misleading for several reasons. The Finnish language doesn't have any equivalent to the future tense at all, and also, while we always form the imperfect by conjugating the main verb [the example here is the verb pelata, to play (a game)]

pelaan -> pelasin, I play (or sometimes I'm playing) -> I played
pelaat -> pelasit, you play -> you played
hän/se pelaa, -> hän/se pelasi, he/she/it plays -> he/she/it played
pelaamme -> pelasimme, we play -> we played
pelaatte -> pelasitte, you play -> you played (plural, polite)
he/ne pelaavat -> he/ne pelasivat, they play -> they played

or in the negative, by conjugating both the general negation verb (ei) and the main verb,

et pelannut
hän/se ei pelannut
emme pelanneet
ette pelanneet
he/ne eivät pelanneet

English needs to use the auxiliary verb do, does, did plus the negation word not. Spanish, on the other hand, doesn't need an auxiliary verb here (jugaba, no jugaba). What's more, there are two corresponding tenses, the other being the preterite (jugué)

Long story short, grammatical terms are just concepts, the words act in different ways in different languages.

I'm rambling, perhaps it's time to use a signature move.

I studied the past imperfect tense (pretérito imperfecto) in Spanish along with all other tenses when I was in primary school, but English doesn't have that.

So many past tenses:
pretérito imperfecto: jugaba
pretérito perfecto simple: jugué
pretérito perfecto compuesto: he jugado
pretérito pluscuanperfecto: había jugado
pretérito anterior: hube jugado (we never use this).

And this is only the past tenses of the indicative mode. We also have the subjunctive: jugara/jugase, haya jugado, hubiera jugado/hubiese jugado.

And the conditional: habría jugado.

And all of that is just the past tenses. Don't get me started on the present and future tenses.
