Cherry Bomb - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

As Joan Jett and the Blackhearts starts playing over the speakers, Mikachu returns poor Nefernefernefer to her ball. Suddenly, the Finnish fighter sends his third and final Pogey to the field. Hey, it's a Whirlipede! How about that. Both Pokemon experience different stat boosts thanks to the music's effect. As Veronica bides her time to recoup lost energy, the newbie summons a legion of insects to crawl up through gaps in the floorboards. Oh no! Combat Disco is Infested! The teensy critters begin crawling all over Veronica. Gross.

Time for Veronica to tap out! The indomitable Jolteon blasts Manashi with an electrified jolt before returning to her Pokeball. With a flash of light, Lord Félix rejoins the fray. Zut alors! Manashi cuts loose with an explosive Sludge Bomb, which loses some momentum as it passes through the Light Screen. The attack connects, spraying purple goo all over Lord Félix's feathers. He swiftly falls ill. He looks like he could use a sick day.

Suddenly, a dazzling light envelops Lord Félix. Is it just me or does he suddenly seem a little... Gutsier?

Poisoned or not, Lord Félix unleashes a series of melee attacks on his opponent. Jeebuz. For a creature without any hands, he sure packs quite a punch. Manashi ends the round with a Bug-type rolling attack, but it does extremely piddly damage. You're going to have to step it up if you want to turn things around, little dude.

And with that, the Light Screen goes kaput.
