That was a great chapter. There is just something about your story that keeps making me want to read more. You are a good writer and keep writing. It was funny with them getting scared and then Electrike running off chasing the the Furret. I can see it acting all hyper and happy. Thats great. Then the Duskull and Dusklops were cool in it. Good length. Keep it up!

Bah, I had some time on my hands so here is Chapter 12!

Chapter 12: Sandstone City! Amanda's First Contest!

After a grueling night in the dark forest, Mike and friends have finally entered Sandstone City. Several trainers litter the area practicing with their Pokemon. "I better get practicing too!" Amanda said as she entered. "I think I'll train for the smart contest!" She added in and threw a Pokeball letting out Ralts. She then threw her other two revealing Skitty and Mudkip. "You guys can watch, see what contest training is like for when you enter!" She grinned. The two Pokemon nodded. "Well Amanda, me and Jeff are going to head into town for something to eat." Mike said. Amanda nodded and headed into the field with the other trainers.

"Look at all the Pokemon!" Amanda said as a Houndour leapt up and grabbed a Frisbee. "Ralts, let's work on a routine!' She smiled. Ralts put its hand on its head, signaling it was ready. Amanda pulled out her pompoms from her backpack. She then grabbed the two batons. She used these a lot in her cheerleading squad, and she knew they would come in handy for contests. She threw the batons into the air and had Ralts keep them afloat with confusion. Skitty and Mudkip happily played in the field.

Mike and Jeff entered the city to find hordes of pedestrians in anticipation for the upcoming event. Flyers littered the area and small mobile stores were set up. "Never knew contests where such big events." Jeff muttered. The two reached the diner to find a large commotion inside. The chef was chasing something, but Mike and Jeff couldn't make it out. Jeff opened the door and a black Pokemon darted out. "Get back here you thief!" The cook yelled. Jeff turned as it darted down the road. "Poochyena; the bite Pokemon. At first site, Poochyena takes a bite out of anything that moves. This Pokemon chases after prey until the victim becomes exhausted. However, it may turn tail if the prey strikes back." The Pokedex muttered. "A dark type!" Jeff yelled. "Got to go, be back later!" Jeff said and took off down the road after the Pokemon.

Mike was now alone in a street full of people. The diner retreated back into his shop. Mike sat down at an outdoor table and waited for the waitress to come. "Need some company?" A young girl about 16 asked. Mike looked up. She had a weird helmet-like hat on and she looked kind of like a tomboy. "The name's Caitlin!" She smirked. "Saw your friend walk off and thought I could be of company." She laughed. Mike nodded and she sat down across from him. "You a contestee?" Mike asked. "Makin' up words now aren't we?" She grinned. "Nah, I'm just here to watch. I'm actually a trainer that gets a kick out of viewing contests as I pass by. You a "contestee"?" She grinned. She was obviously poking fun at him. "No, my friend is. She's currently training with all the others. "That thing that ran off was a she?" Caitlin asked appalled. "I think so, but no, that's my other friend. He likes dark types as you can see." Mike laughed.

"Ah, a "contestee" and a "darkie"! So what does that make you, a "dineree"?" She laughed. "Nah, I'm a trainer." Mike replied. "A trainer? Well then we have to have a little match then don't we. Sorry, but it's my rule. Challenge every trainer you meet!" She grinned. "Sure, doesn't look like we'll be getting service anytime soon anyways." Mike laughed. Caitlin stood up and he quickly followed her.

Ralts was now getting the hang of Amanda's routine. She did her cheer act as it balanced the batons. "This is perfect; you're really getting the hang of it!" Amanda grinned. "Yeah, for a beginner!" She heard someone say. Amanda turned to see a tall boy with long blonde hair. A Kadabra was at his feet. "So you're entering the smart contest I see?" You think you can beat me?" He grinned. He smirked and threw dozens of spoons into the air. Kadabra was quickly in action. It caught every spoon with its mind and bent them with kinesis. "Wow, you're good!" Amanda grinned. "Of course, I've won every smart contest I've competed in!" He laughed. "The name's Alan." "Amanda!" Amanda replied. "I'd hate to admit it girl, but you don’t seem much of a threat to me. No one here does." He replied.

He then turned his attention to the other trainers. "That girl's Starmie's figure is all off. That Meditite couldn't win if it was Einstein! And don't even get me started on the Spoink!' He grinned. "And you, well you're a beginner. I can tell because you scream it." He said looking at Ralts. "We'll just see when the contest time comes!" Amanda smirked. Alan nodded and he and Kadabra headed off. Amanda and Ralts began to practice some more. Skitty and Mudkip continued to play.

Team Steam finally exited the forest, battered and bruised. "Nice idea Clyde!" Bonnie moaned. "How did I know ghosts like rundown houses?" He replied. Bonnie passed by the many trainers and their Pokemon. "They look so strong, but I'm just not in the mood to steal!" She complained. Clyde nodded and they continued into the city.

"Electrike, dodge!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon shot out of the way as the Jigglypuff rolled towards it. "Another rollouter. I just faced one in Burgundy City!" Mike laughed. "Jigglypuff, use take down!" Caitlin yelled. The Pokemon opened up from its roll and smashed into Electrike, punching it hard. After some time, it flew back in recoil. "Electrike, use spark!" Mike yelled as the Pokemon landed. Electrike let off the attack and it smashed into the puffy Pokemon. A little dazed, Jigglypuff began to stumble. "Now use tackle!" Mike yelled. Electrike raced toward Jigglypuff, but it floated away at the last second. "Double slap!" Caitlin commanded. Jigglypuff came down hard and smacked away at Electrike. It finally managed to back away. "Quick attack!" Mike yelled. Electrike slammed into Jigglypuff, blowing it back and out. "Return!" Caitlin said as she recalled it.

"Impressive, but that was just a warm up! Time for my strongest Pokemon!" Caitlin grinned. "Go Skarmory!" She said throwing the Pokeball. It opened and the metal bird towered over Electrike. Meanwhile, Jeff was searching the city for the little lost Poochyena. "I know you didn't get far little guy!" Jeff muttered as he searched street after street. He finally connected sight with it on the other side of the street. It was happily eating the sausage links it stole. He stepped into the street to go after it, but was suddenly surrounded by a marching band. "What the hell?" He said. The band played on and soon Jeff saw a gigantic Dragonite float heading straight towards him. He ducked back into the sidewalk. "What a time for a parade!" He yelled. He chucked a rock at the Dragonite float, puncturing a hole into it. "Crap!" He said and ran into the alley as it began to deflate.

Amanda was now at the contest hall. She handed the woman her official Contest Card and was told the smart contest started at 4 PM, which was about 2 hours away. "They said they'd be here to watch me!" She said to herself. She then headed for her dressing room. "Skarmory, use drill peck!" Caitlin roared. Electrike was being butchered, and it was now unable to avoid the attack. "Great job Electrike, take a good rest!" Mike said recalling it. "One more Pokemon left for you!" Caitlin grinned. Mike thought. "Taillow can't hurt Skarmory, so Torchic would be a great bet!" He said and threw the Pokeball. The Pokemon formed, but something was rather odd about it. It didn't stop glowing and it seemed to be growing…

Jeff peaked out of the alleyway to find the parade staff hauling away the remains of the once beautiful balloon. The Poochyena was nowhere to be found, but he wasn't about to give up. He casually strolled out into the street. A woman spotted him. "That’s the guy who wrecked the float!" She screamed. Jeff stopped whistling and waved bye as he shot off down the road. The parade staff gave chase.

Torchic was no longer Torchic. Mike was now staring at a fully evolved Combusken! "You evolved?" He said in shock. "Combusken; the young fowl Pokemon. Combusken toughens up its legs and thighs by running through fields and mountains. This Pokemon's legs possess both speed and power, enabling it to dole out ten kicks in one second." The Pokedex muttered. "That victory over Dusclops must have done it!" Mike said excitedly. "Wow, your Torchic evolved, can we get this battle over with?" Caitlin asked sarcastically. "Hey, this is an exciting moment for me! My first Pokemon to evolve!" Mike yelled back. "You ready to kick some Skarmory butt?" Mike asked. Combusken nodded and leapt up.

"Combusken, use double kick!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon began firing kick after kick, but Skarmory did well to dodge a few. Some hit, but only for minor damage. "Skarmory, use drill peck again!" Caitlin ordered. The bird backed away and drilled into Combusken, flinging it back and dealing a lot of damage. "Combusken, use focus energy!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon stopped and closed its eyes. "Now Skarmory, attack it with steel wing whilst it's still!" Caitlin roared. The Pokemon flew down towards Combusken with its wings glowing, but Combusken leapt away. "Ember!" Mike yelled. Combusken launched the flames, each striking Skarmory hard. It fell down, but wasn't out. "Metal sound!" Caitlin yelled.

Skarmory let out a large crushing ring that struck Combusken. Mike held his ears and winced in pain. "Ha, metal sound murders Combusken's special defense!" She yelled over the bone crushing noise. "Steel wing while it's hurting!" She then commanded. Skarmory smashed into Combusken with its wing flinging it back. Combusken weakly got up. "Again!" She yelled. Skarmory turned and headed straight back to Combusken. "Use quick attack!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon dodged Skarmory and smashed into it, only to be flung back. "Bulk up!" Mike yelled. Combusken glowed and its attack and defense rose. "Not going to do you any good! Skarmory, use swift!" Caitlin laughed. The stars smashed into Combusken and it flew back. "Combusken, get up!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon slowly got up and glared at Skarmory. They were both exhausted.

"Skarmory, use steel wing!" Caitlin commanded. Skarmory flew at Combusken. "Flamethrower!" Mike yelled. Combusken dodged and let off the flaming stream. It struck Skarmory hard and it fell. "While it's down, use double kick!" Mike yelled. Combusken beat Skarmory with its feet, and then fell back. Skarmory was down and it was not getting up. "Return!" Caitlin said in disbelief. As soon as Skarmory was recalled, Combusken collapsed. "Take a rest buddy!" Mike said recalling it. "Great battle!" Caitlin smiled. Mike gave her a thumbs up. "Amanda is probably waiting for me at the contest hall, I have to go!" He then said. Caitlin nodded and followed him down the road.

Mike made it just in time. A boy with blonde hair was showing off his Kadabra. Little did he know that this was Amanda's biggest competitor. Jeff was nowhere in sight. Alan flung dozens of spoons in the air. Each was caught with a psychic and bent with kinesis. He then did a summersault and was flung into the air by Kadabra. Kadabra began to juggle the spoons and its trainer, impressing the judges and making the audience go wild. Alan then finished by landing on his feet and having Kadabra teleport onto his head. The crowd applauded and Alan bowed. The judges gave him a score of 9.0, 9.3, and an 8.9; giving him a total score of 27.2/30. He stepped off stage and gave Amanda a nice smirk. It was now her turn. She was very nervous, but she then saw Mike in the stands. "He made it!" She smiled and stepped out into the ring with Ralts at her side…

Ha I'm bored so I'm writing Chapter's Galor today!

Chapter 13: Beginner's Luck or a Harsh Failure? The Final Outcome!

Bonnie and Clyde had finally reached the small quaint building that they intended on heading too. Though it looked like a normal drug store, the back room was actually a small base for Team Steam to check in. They pushed open the door and were greeted by a familiar person. "Ahh, Bonnie and Clyde! I was wondering when ya's would get here!" The store owner replied. "No time for chat Mr. Demunie, take us to the back room!" Bonnie replied. Mr. Demunie nodded and grabbed a key from the top shelf. He waddled over to what looked like the wall, but there was a small latch that revealed the keyhole. He pushed opened the now unlocked door and flicked the light switch on.

"There you are missy!" He replied. Bonnie and Clyde stepped into the room. There was a video phone on each side. They gave each other dirty looks then proceeded to each phone. "Bonnie reporting in!" Bonnie said as Archie answered. "Clyde here!" Clyde said as Maxie appeared on screen. "How is everything going?" Maxie asked. "Splendid, we are on the tail of what we believe are the ones who can grant us access to the shrine!" Bonnie said. "Good!" Archie said happily. "Now, DO NOT under any circumstances let the trainers know what your goal is. It would shatter everything." Archie added in. "We won't sir, Bonnie out!"

Bonnie and Clyde hung up their video phones. "Well, back to the streets!" Clyde said. They turned and left, locking the door behind them. Archie hung up and turned to Maxie. "You think they suspect anything?" He asked. Maxie shook his head. "They are too nitwitted to know of our true intentions." He replied. "Do not be so sure! This is a very serious matter; we cannot take these things lightly!" An accented voice said. "We are not ready yet, but the last assault of our teams will soon begin!" It added in with a harsh laugh. "The Pokewar is coming, and they will all know soon enough!" The three all began to laugh…

Amanda stepped out into the ring. The audience gave her quite an applause. Ralts waddled next to her. It seemed a bit confused about what was going on. The announcer introduced her to the crowd, and explained that she is a beginner. The crowd cheered her on more. "Beginners are always favored in contests!" Caitlin said to Mike. He nodded and continued to watch. "Amanda, will you begin your routine for us?" The announcer asked. Amanda nodded and held up two batons. Ralts got ready and she twirled them a bit before throwing them into the air.

Ralts caught them in mid-flight and began to twirl them with confusion. Amanda pulled out her pompoms and began to accompany it in a little cheer act. The crowd seemed to enjoy it. Ralts smiled and began to spin the batons; one on each side of her. They began to spin around her and Ralts began to do somersaults as it controlled the spinning batons. Next, Amanda tossed her pompoms into the air. Still controlling the batons, Ralts used disable, freezing the pompoms as they flew. Amanda leapt up and held on to them, she hanging onto the frozen pompoms. The crowd went wild. Amanda then did a flip and landed on her feet with the pompoms in her hands. Ralts flicked its arms and the batons rushed to it. It caught them and did a somersault landing in front of her.

The crowd applauded and Mike stood up. Caitlin clapped hard too. "Wow she's good; one of the best beginners I have ever seen!" She commented. The announcer cheered and asked the judges what her score was. She received a 9.3, 9.2, and a 9.0; giving her a total of 27.5 out of 30! Amanda was in shock! She actually out staged Alan and Kadabra! She took a bow and left the stadium. Mike got up and he and Caitlin headed to her dressing room.

Jeff was running as fast as his legs could carry him. He ducked into a corner as the parade staff ran by. He wasn't seen. "Phew!" He whispered. There was suddenly a low growl from behind and Jeff turned to see the Poochyena. It was in a cardboard box with a blanket and Jeff could tell he invaded its home. He stood up and backed away slowly. Poochyena followed. Jeff turned and ran like hell. Poochyena followed barking viciously. "Oh great, I'm going to be eaten alive by a puppy! That or arrested for killing a balloon!" He screamed as he ran down the street. Poochyena would be on him in moments. He then remembered the Pokedex entry. With a sudden turn he was facing Poochyena. It stopped dead in its tracks and yelped as Jeff charged. "RAAAR!" He screamed. Poochyena put its tail between its legs and ran off. Jeff laughed to himself. He then remembered he was trying to catch the Pokemon and ran after it again.

The final contestant finished off her routine with his Pidgeotto and round 1 ended. The scores were tailed up and Amanda won round 1. The announcer then stated that the audience took a vote, and the preliminary smartness round goes to Alan and Kadabra. Amanda was a bit disappointed by this, but she could still cream him in round 2. At this, Mike and Caitlin entered the room. "Did you see me Mike?" She grinned. Mike nodded. "You were awesome!" He replied. "Yeah!" Caitlin grinned. "Who's this?" Amanda asked. Mike introduced them. "And her battle got me a Combusken!" He laughed. Amanda congratulated him. Suddenly, Alan walked in with Kadabra. "Great show rookie!" He grinned. "But the next round is mine. Your puny new Pokemon can't beat Kadabra!" He laughed. "Well just see!" She smiled. Alan flicked his hair back and left the room.

Jeff now had Poochyena cornered. It yelped again and he suddenly felt pity for it. The pity soon faded and he pulled out a Pokeball. "Sorry chap, but you were born a dark type, so that makes you mine!" He laughed. Suddenly, a hand reached through a small hole in the fence behind Poochyena and grabbed it. Jeff saw this and leapt, grabbing the Pokemon by the paws. The hand tried to pull away, but Jeff tugged back. What came next was a tug of war with Poochyena as the rope. It yelped again, and Jeff pulled harder. With one final jerk, the person came crashing through the fence. She landed with a thud on the ground and released Poochyena. "Bonnie! I should've known!" Jeff yelled. She stood up holding her head as Clyde walked in behind her.

"Yes it is us, and that Poochyena is mine! I saw it first!" She yelled. "Fat chance, I've been following it all around the city. Thanks to it I'm a wanted felon!" Jeff replied. "Join the club! What did you do?" Clyde laughed. "Murder of a balloon!" Jeff smirked. "Wow, that's a horrid act!" Clyde replied. While they talked, the Poochyena high tailed it out of there. After a bit of conversation, Jeff noticed it was missing. "Good job, now it's gone!" He yelled. Bonnie folded her arms. "Not my fault!" She roared. Jeff pushed her aside and ran off, leaving Team Steam shocked.

The contestants were now placed on a board and shuffled to see who would face who in round 2. Amanda was paired with a small girl and her Starmie. Alan was paired with the Pidgiotto guy. "Hope you make it to the finals rookie so I can show you how it's done!" Alan laughed. Amanda shot him a look as he walked away. She then took her side of the stadium as the girl took to the other end. "In this contest, each trainer will have a 5 minute battle. During this time, the trainers may only use smart attacks, which in turn must strike opponent to score. The trainer with the most stats left at the end of the time limit wins!" The announcer explained. Five minutes was placed on the clock.

"Ok Ralts, begin with calm mind!" Amanda shouted. Ralts nodded and began to relax. "Camouflage!" The Starmie trainer roared. Starmie changed its type, impressing the crowd. "Confusion!" Amanda commanded. Ralts placed a hand on its head and let off the attack, striking Starmie. Its bar dropped but not much. "Nice combo!" A judge roared. Amanda smiled. "Starmie, use psychic!" The trainer announced. Starmie struck Ralts, blowing it back and taking 1/4 of its stat bar away. Amanda looked on worried. No matter how good Ralts was; Starmie was stronger and its bar would be harder to drop. She then had a plan to buy her some time. "Ralts, use disable!" She roared. Ralts let off the attack, freezing Starmie and dropping its stat bar a bit. "Oh, looks like Starmie won't be using psychic for a bit!" The announcer roared.

Two minutes were now remaining. "Now Ralts, use imprison!" Amanda roared. Ralts let off the attack, striking Starmie and downing its stat bar significantly. "Wow, what an amazing show of smartness!" The announcer roared. "I'm doing great!" Amanda said out loud. There was now several seconds left and Amanda thought she had it in the bag. "Hidden power!" The trainer yelled. Starmie let loose the attack, blowing Ralts back and dropping its stat bar very far. Amanda was now loosing and the time ran out. "Oh, Amanda dropped down at the end!" The announcer shot out.

Amanda couldn't believe it; she lost! Suddenly, Starmie's stat bar dropped lower and put her in first. "Oh, but folks, Amanda has a combo during the match which takes extra stat away from the opponent! Amanda is our winner!" The announcer roared. The crowd went wild and Amanda stood in shock. "I did it!" Amanda yelled. The crowd laughed. She then looked up on the screen to see it was down to the final match, and she was up against Alan.

Jeff rushed into the street avoiding a few parade staff as he went. He soon caught up to Poochyena. It growled at him, but he wasn't backing down this time. He threw a Pokeball releasing Treecko. "Use quick attack!" He yelled. Treecko slammed into Poochyena, flinging it back. "Ha, not so tough after you've been running for hours!" Jeff laughed. Poochyena retaliated with bite, clamping onto Treecko's tail. "You little sneaky butt!" Jeff roared. Treecko frantically tried to remove the pup, but it wouldn't give. Jeff grew board and walked up. He grabbed Poochyena and ripped it from Treecko. He then placed it down. "Dude, bad doggie!" He yelled. Poochyena lunged at him, but Treecko smashed it away. It landed on the ground and Jeff threw a Pokeball. Poochyena was sucked inside and soon it was caught! "Great job Treecko!" Jeff yelled. The Pokemon nodded and Jeff picked up the ball. "Oh crap, the contest!" Jeff yelled out and ran down the road to the stadium. Treecko followed.

Amanda and Alan glared at each other. The clock began and each trainer started. "Kinesis!" Alan yelled. The attack was launched and Ralts became dazed. "Ralts, use confusion!" Amanda yelled. Ralts let off the attack, but Kadabra easily dodged. "Now teleport!" She replied. Ralts did so and appeared behind Kadabra. "Kadabra, use psychic!" Alan yelled. The Pokemon grabbed Ralts and lifted it with its mind, then tossed it aside. There was now only 3 minutes left and Amanda hadn't scored a single point. Ralts's stat bar was running low. "Sorry Amanda, but this is over!" Alan roared. "Psybeam!" Kadabra launched the colorful beam, but Ralts teleported again. "Future sight!" Alan yelled. Kadabra closed its eyes and foresaw the attack.

Jeff was almost there, the contest was just ahead. He reached the main gate but was suddenly pulled back. "Ok float wrecker, you're going downtown. Jenny had a tight hold on him. "Damnit!" He yelled as he was dragged away kicking. There was only 20 seconds left, and Amanda still hadn't gotten a hit off. It was over; there was no way she could win now. "Ralts, use imprison she yelled." Ralts launched the attack and to her surprise it connected! Kadabra blew back and its stat bar dropped. The future sight then struck Ralts, dropping its stat bar! The time ran out. Amanda received a combo bonus and the stat bar dropped again, just short of hers. She had lost…All the work and she had lost! A tear trickled down her face and she congratulated Alan. He held out his hand and she shook it. "Good fight rookie!" He smiled. Amanda nodded and Mike joined her. "It was an awesome battle!" He said. Amanda nodded. "It was your first time. You should be happy you got this far!" Caitlin said.

Amanda smiled. "I'll win next time!" She said. "That's the spirit!" Caitlin replied. Alan was given a green ribbon as his prize and Amanda applauded him. It was her first contest, and she got far; that's all that mattered to her. The three exited the arena. Caitlin said her goodbyes and headed off. Mike and Amanda waved. Amanda then bent down and cuddled her Ralts. "I'm proud of you!" She said. Mike then noticed that they were missing Jeff. There was a large commotion up ahead and he had no doubt Jeff had something to do with it.

They approached to find Officer Jenny with a loud speaker telling someone in a nearby building to come out. Amanda stepped up. "What's going on?" She asked. "Some lunatic trainer barricaded himself in there after we tried to arrest him!" She said. Mike looked up into the window. "Oh my god!" He yelled seeing Jeff inside. He grabbed the loud speaker from Jenny. "Jeff, get down here right now!" He yelled. Jeff looked down and soon he opened the front door. "I didn't mean too!" He screamed balling his eyes out. Amanda sighed. "I really don't think Jeff meant to do whatever he did." She told Jenny. Jenny eyed her. "You came in 2nd place at the contest today right?" She asked. "Yes!" Amanda replied. "Well fine, take him and go. It's the least I can do for such a great competitor. Just keep him away from floats!" She smiled.

Jeff rejoined the group and they headed off. "What was that all about?" Mike asked. "Nothing, but I got my Poochyena!" He said smiling. "Whatever…" Mike replied and they headed off down the road….

Bah, not one of my best chapters, but its 1 Am and I had a bit of writer's block.

Chapter 14: Aron's On the Beach! Cave Escapee!"

Mike and friends were now walking along a beach after leaving Sandstone City behind. "My first contest has come and gone!" Amanda said in a sad voice. "Seems like just yesterday we were heading out." She added in. Mike nodded. They headed down the beach some more. "For a beach, there aren't many people!" Jeff smirked. Mike looked around. He was right, it was a beautiful place by they haven't seen anyone since they left the boardwalk.

"This place is great!" He said grinning to the others. Amanda nodded. "Why don’t we take a tiny break here before heading to the harbor?" He then asked. Jeff was instantly agreeing. With three shots of his hands, Nuzleaf, Treecko, and Poochyena were released. "Day off!" He screamed and ran off down the beach as his Pokemon followed. Amanda laughed. She then dug through her backpack and pulled out a large blanket. She laid it on the sand and sat down. Mike did also.

"Go enjoy the beach guys!" Mike said releasing his Pokemon. Taillow began to peck at him as Electrike chased its tail. Combusken was kicking the air. "Taillow ow!" Mike screamed as the Pokemon battered his head. Electrike continued to chase its tail, and it soon smashed into Combusken. The Pokemon lost its balance and fell. Sand went everywhere. Amanda laughed hysterically. "Electrike!" Mike muttered. The Pokemon looked at Mike and smiled, obviously not aware that he was annoyed with it. Combusken shook sand out of its ears and stood back up.

"Well don't be shy!" Amanda said throwing her Pokeballs. Skitty, Ralts, and Mudkip appeared. "Go have fun!" She smiled. Mudkip nodded and headed to the water. Skitty chased after it. Mudkip leapt in and began to splash. Skitty hissed and backed away. Mudkip motioned for it to join it, but Skitty didn't seem to like water. Meanwhile, Jeff pulled a Frisbee from his backpack. With a giant toss, Poochyena was chasing it. It leapt up and grabbed the Frisbee, landing in the muddy sand. "Ha-ha, nice catch pup!" Jeff laughed. Poochyena growled and brought the Frisbee back. Jeff bent down to grab it and the Pokemon shook, getting mud all over him.

Poochyena began to laugh. Jeff grabbed it. "You think that's funny?" He roared. Poochyena gave him a puppy dog look, but it didn't work. "Hey Nuzleaf, go fetch!" He said chucking Poochyena across the beach. He laughed to himself as Nuzleaf dove to catch it. "That'll teach ya!" He yelled at it. To his surprise, Poochyena came running back and signaled for him to do it again. "You nitwit, that was supposed to be not fun!" He yelled. Poochyena happily growled.

Mike walked along the beach with Electrike at his side. He finally got Taillow to stop pecking him and eat something. As they walked, Mike picked up a piece of drift wood and chucked it. Electrike happily retrieved it. Mike bent down and pet it. "We have a long road ahead of us buddy! Not all fun and games!" He smiled. Electrike leapt into his arms. Mike stood up and saw something shiny and metal ahead. He walked up. The metal was moving; trying to bury into the sand without luck. It then pooped its head up and exposed two big blue eyes. "Aron; the iron armor Pokemon. This Pokemon has a body of steel. To make its body, Aron feeds on iron that it digs from mountains. Occasionally, it causes major trouble by eating bridges and rails." The Pokedex said.

"Wow, an Aron!" Mike laughed. Suddenly, he was face to face with a strange bearded man. "Yes, this is an Aron!" He grinned. Mike was confused. "The name is Professor Haliban. I am here studying this Aron! You see, Aron live in dark caves so they can feed on iron, but this one doesn't. People in town have reported it, saying it appeared two days ago." He said. The man talked so fast that it took some time to get it through his head. "Wait, why is it here then?" Mike finally replied. "That's what I intend to find out!' The professor muttered. "And I have to do it soon, as this is not a safe area." "What do you mean?" Mike asked.

Jeff tossed Poochyena again and Treecko leapt to catch it. He was having fun and his Pokemon seemed to be too. Nuzleaf went deep and Jeff flung Poochyena at it. Poochyena went by it and Nuzleaf dove to catch it, but smashed into a half buried sign. Jeff walked up and asked if it was ok. He then turned to the sign. "Warning- dangerous currents. Water reaches shore level once a week! No swimming!" It read. It took Jeff several minutes to get what it meant, but he then noticed why no one ever left the boardwalk. There was definitely evidence that a lot of water covers the beach. They were in a dangerous are all right!

Amanda was sunbathing with Ralts by her side. Jeff came running up with his Pokemon and grabbed her. She angrily got up; trying to make out was he was saying. "Jeff calm down, you're babbling!" She yelled. Jeff took a deep breath. "We have to get out of here!" He yelled. "Why?" Amanda asked. Jeff chucked the sign at her feet. "Uhh, we have to find Mike!" She yelled after reading it.

Bonnie and Clyde had stepped off the boardwalk and onto the beach. "What a great place this is!" Bonnie laughed. "Sure…" Clyde replied. "If you like water!" Bonnie shot him a look as they headed down the beach. "Those morns came through here; I know it!" Bonnie said as they trudged along. "Bonnie, I don't get something! If we are supposed to be leading them to the shrine, then why are we tailing them and not having them follow us?" Clyde asked. "Because, they won't follow us if we don't have something of there's. So we follow them, steal their Pokemon, and make for the shrine!" She replied. Clyde suddenly realized that the water was touching his feet!

Professor Haliban was taking notes as he studied the Aron's behavior. Mike yawned. He was bored watching this, but he was waiting for the professor to leave so he could have a shot at the Aron. "I have concluded why the Aron is here!" The professor finally replied. "And?" Mike looked. "It's obvious there are no iron deposits here, so Aron must've gotten lost and stumbled upon this beach!" He said with his finger up. Mike collapsed anime style. "All that studying for that!" He yelled.

Amanda and Jeff ran up to the two. "We have to get out of here!" Amanda yelled. "Too late!" Jeff commented. Amanda looked down to see the water was rising fast. Amanda recalled her Pokemon and everyone else started too. "Great, first we were going to be killed by ghosts, now we're going to drown! Some fun we're having!" Jeff yelled. "I got ya covered!" The professor said. He pulled out a small rubber package and pulled the string. It quickly inflated into a raft and he set it into the water. "Everyone in, the water level will be rising quickly!" He said. Everyone listened without hesitation.

Mike watched in horror as Aron took off running. "Aron's not in the raft!" He said pointing. "It’s a steel type! If we don't get it in here it will drown for sure!" The professor replied. He pulled out a small motor from his pack. "Always come prepared!" He laughed. He hooked it up and began the pursuit of the iron Pokemon. As they sped along, Professor Haliban pulled out a long net. "What's that for?" Jeff asked. "We may have to snag the little bugger!" He replied.

Team Steam had found a large piece of driftwood to float on. "Wow, water!" Clyde said sarcastically. Bonnie sighed and released Wooper. "Propel us forward you!" She roared. Wooper smiled and shot a water gun behind them, pushing them through the water. "Hey, there they are!" Clyde said pointing ahead. The group was in a raft that was chasing some shiny metal Pokemon. The Pokemon was now running in water as they pursued it. "They'll never get that Pokemon in time! They have to stay in the deep part of the water while it runs closest to the boardwalk!" Bonnie grinned. "Now Wooper, full speed into the raft!"

Mike extended the net towards Aron, It was not stuck on a small sand bar that was quickly disappearing. "I can't reach it!" He yelled. "Quick, someone hold onto him!" The professor replied. Amanda grabbed Mike's legs and he waded himself out. "Here little Aron!" He yelled. "It’s not going to come, just let it drown!" Jeff yelled. Mike rolled his eyes. Suddenly, something smashed into the side of the raft and Mike found himself underwater. "We're deflating!" Amanda yelled. "We're all going to die! Every man for themselves!" Jeff screamed. The professor leapt towards the hole and tried to plug it. Bonnie and Clyde laughed. "Going down?" They said in unison.

Mike surfaced to see Aron's ground was almost gone. It would be completely submerged in a matter of seconds. "I won't let you drown, just come to me!" Mike said holding out his hand. He could tell the current was starting to strengthen, and he too needed to get out of the water. Aron backed away shaking its head. "You leave me no choice then!" Mike yelled and pulled a Pokeball from his belt. "Go!" He yelled tossing it. The ball hit Aron on the head and it was sucked inside. Mike grabbed it before it stopped shaking. The sand bar was now gone. Mike swam towards the raft, but saw they weren't fairing much better.

"Wooper, water gun!" Bonnie laughed. "Mudkip, use your water gun!" Amanda replied. The attacks collided canceling each other out. Bonnie and Clyde were safely afloat the driftwood while the raft was sinking fast. Professor Haliban was quickly patching the hole. Mike leapt onto the remaining floating section of the raft. The current was now picking up greatly. Up above, Mike noticed Taillow. "Hey!" he shouted. Taillow flew down and pecked his head. "Ow, Taillow, get the steams, not me!" He yelled. Taillow turned and smashed into the driftwood. Bonnie and Clyde teetered a bit, then fell in.

"You stupid bird!" Bonnie yelled trying to grab it, but Taillow laughed and pecked at her head. "Look Bonnie, I don't even have to swim!" Clyde smiled as he floated by very fast. Bonnie then realized she was floating away too! "You idiot, we're in the current!" She yelled. The two screamed out as they floated away. The raft was almost under and soon the group would be floating away as well. "Where's Aron?" The professor asked as he busily worked to plug the hole. "I took care of it!" Mike yelled. "Wow, too bad you can't enjoy you're accomplishment! Did you notice we're almost submerged?" Jeff asked sarcastically.

Suddenly, Mike's Pokeball opened and Aron appeared. "Dude, get back in your Pokeball, you'll sink!" Mike yelled. Aron shook its head and leapt into the water. It sunk fast and Mike prepared to leap after it. Suddenly, the Aron appeared again and was actually swimming! It made it to the piece of driftwood and latched on. It then swam back toward the raft. Mike and co quickly boarded it as the raft sunk totally.

After making it to the boardwalk, Mike and friends took a long breather. "I think there was a different reason Aron was here!" Mike said over his many breathes. "Hmm, an Aron that can swim; and in strong currents!" Very interesting!" The professor said. "And it's mine!" Mike grinned. Aron waddled up to Mike and nudged him. "If that's ok with you of course! I kind of caught you without thinking!" He said. Aron nodded and leapt into his arms. "You've got a nice Pokemon there Mike! Treat it well!" Professor Haliban replied. Mike nodded. "Wow, always at the brink of death do we get saved by the most ironic things!" Jeff muttered. Mike smiled and with a goodbye to the professor, the group head off again.

Chapter 16 will most likely be up today too. I'm bored and not tired so I'm writing. Also, expect to be at chapter 30 by the end of the week. This is gonna be a big week for my fic!

Chapter 15: Alabor City! Panic in the Harbor!

"Electrike, use quick attack!" Mike yelled as his faithful Pokemon stormed toward the Zigzagoon. "Zigzagoon, don't give in, dodge and use head butt!" The opposing trainer yelled. The group had met up with him just outside of Alabor City, and after some conversation, Mike and him decided to battle. His name was Anson, and his hair was long and blonde. He was a typical skater boy, and even had one under his shoulder. Zigzagoon did as ordered, and smashed into Electrike. "Electrike, get up!" Mike yelled. Electrike tried to, but it was exhausted.

"Return!" Mike yelled recalling his Pokemon. "Now I know you're not all powerful!" He said smiling at the Pokeball. "Great battle Anson!" Mike said with a thumbs up. "You too dude!" He called back. "Wow, an actual loss for Mike!" Jeff snickered. "Yeah, but you have to take in effect what happened this week. We haven't seen a single center and Electrike has been in many battles." Amanda replied. The two joined Mike. "Here guys, I'll take you to the Pokecenter in Alabor City!" Anson offered. Mike nodded and they followed.

"Look at the size of this place!" Jeff said in awe as they made their way into the city. "Yep, Alabor is one of the biggest cities in the whole archipelago. This is cool, because of all the boardwalks and stairs. It's the perfect place to skate!" Anson replied. They came upon the center and walked inside. There, Nurse Joy was busily healing a Sandshrew. "Hey Shelia!" Anson said. "How many times do I have to tell you, it's Joy!" The Nurse replied. "Hey, I can use Australian slang if I want to!" Anson said laughing. "Anyways, my friend here has some Pokemon that need much needed healing!" He then said. Joy gave Chansey the anesthetic she was applying to Sandshrew and approached them.

"Well then, can I have his Pokeballs?" She said happily. Mike pulled them from his belt and handed them to her. "This will only take about a half hour. Why don't you get something to eat?" She said. "Sounds good to me! Let's go to that Burger King we passed on the way here. You know, have it your way like the slogan!" Jeff said. Mike ignored him. "Too greasy guys, let's just dine at the center diner!" Amanda replied. Jeff eyed her and she stuck out her tongue.

The four of them entered the diner to find a bunch of other trainers. Mike walked up to get his order. A familiar kid was in front of him with a Croconaw at his side. "Matt?" Mike said poking his back. Matt turned around. "O, if it isn't my tiny bro!" He replied. "Good to see you're still alive. Where's Kevin?" Mike said. "There!" He pointed to Kevin. The kid was standing over a girl at a table, trying to flirt. She grew tired of him and got up. "Hey Kev, get you're butt over here!" Matt roared. Kevin skippered over. "She wants me!" He said. "Sure bud…" Matt replied. "Look who it is!" He then said pointing to Mike.

"Ahh, its dipstick! How are you kid?" He said. "Um, good…" Mike replied. He hated Kevin, but had to put up with him for many years. "I see you're actually training. You're Totodile evolved." Mike replied. "Yeah, it's a lot better tennis player now!" He laughed. Croconaw gave out a low roar. "Shut up and eat your fries!" Matt replied. "Any badges?" Mike asked. "Ha, why would I be earning badges? Hell no, me and Croconaw are training for the Pokemon Partner Tennis tournament!" Matt laughed. "Uh, it's Croconaw and I. Anyways, is there such thing?" Mike asked. "Yep, or I wouldn't be training for it hole!" Matt said sarcastically. Amanda called to Mike. He turned to see they had ordered and found a table. "Well got to go!" Mike replied. "Wait a tic; you're not leaving this city without battling your big bro!" Matt smiled. "Fine, after lunch!" Mike replied.

Mike sat down and Amanda handed him a chicken sandwich. "You always know what I want!" Mike said happily. Jeff's tray contained everything. "You going to eat all that?" Mike said sarcastically. Jeff looked down at his plate. It was covered with 2 burgers, a parfait, an ice cream sundae, fries, a soda, a bag of cookies, and a thing of rice. "Of course bud!" Jeff laughed and scrounged a bite from his burger. "Eww, it makes me sick just watching you!" Amanda said disgusted. "Ha, doesn't bother me dudes!" Anson replied. "Congrats Anson. You've joined me and Amanda in the club for those who can tolerate Jeff. Members- just us three!" Mike joked. "Ha-ha!" Jeff did a fake laugh.

Outside, Team Steam were at the entrance to the city. Slugma was busily burning away at the hinges of the bridge. "Keep burning them!" Clyde said happily. "What a great plan! We destroy the bridge and take control of the whole city! No one can save them without a way here!" Bonnie laughed. Slugma burned through the first two support beams. "Bonnie, what about the harbor? Boats can come!" Clyde replied. "Shut up!" Bonnie said angrily. "We only need a small span of time to steal the center's Pokemon!" She replied. Slugma finally burned through the final hinge. The bridge began to sway. "TIMBER!!!" Clyde roared as it toppled down into the lake below. "Now begins our 20 minutes of glory!' Bonnie grinned.

Mike and Matt were now facing each other in the backyard of the Pokecenter. A bunch of other trainers were in the stands to watch the "Brother's duel" as it had become known as. "One on one bro!" Matt called out. "Of course I choose Croconaw!" Matt added in. "Hmm, I'll test out Aron!" Mike said throwing the Pokeball. Aron formed on the ground and opened its big blue eyes. "Ready buddy?" Mike asked. Aron nodded.

"Ha piece of cake, everyone knows Aron are weak against water!" Matt laughed. "Not mine, it can swim!" Mike laughed back. Jeff signaled for the match to start. "Aron, use tackle!" Mike commanded. Aron charged at Croconaw, but the Pokemon was instantly out of the way. "Water gun!" Matt yelled. Croconaw opened its mouth as gurgling water spurted out. Aron took the hit, but didn't seem too affected. "Aron, use take down!" Mike roared. Aron charged full blast at Croconaw and smashed into it, then blew back itself. Croconaw was up fast. "Use dynamic punch!" Matt yelled. Croconaw nodded and ran at Aron. "Dodge!" Mike yelled, but Aron was unable too. Croconaw blasted it with its fist and sent it flying. Aron stumbled a bit. "Take down again!" Mike yelled. Aron charged Croconaw and slammed into it, but just fell back.

"What are you doing Aron; that was the wall!" Mike roared. "It's confused bro, that's what dynamic punch does!" Matt smirked. Aron shook itself, but it seemed really weak. Suddenly, Bonnie and Clyde appeared from the stands. "Nice fight moron!" Clyde laughed. "But this is where it ends!" Bonnie replied. "What do you guys want?" Mike asked. "Oh, the usual! We've come to pillage and plunder the city, you know, take the Pokemon!" Bonnie grinned. "Sorry Matt, but this battle is over!" Mike said. He then recalled Aron. "How you planning on taking all the Pokemon. There are way too many trainers to face!" He yelled.

"Well, we thought about that. And that's why we brought along these." Clyde held up a black smoke bomb. "What the heck?" Mike said, but the bomb was then thrown. It erupted in smoke in front of him. Before Mike knew what happened, Wooper appeared and snatched the balls from his belt. The whole backyard was now covered and smoke and Mike could hear the trainers yelling for their Pokemon. "Amanda where are you guys?" Mike asked. He couldn't see a thing, and his Pokemon were gone!

Bonnie held out a sack as Wooper brought Pokeball after Pokeball. Clyde jumped up and down clapping. "I think we have enough!" Bonnie grinned. Clyde nodded and the two rushed off. After several minutes, the smoke began to clear. Mike found Amanda and Jeff and walked up to them. "My Pokemon are gone!" Amanda cried. "Everyone's is dummy!" Jeff said sarcastically. "Croconaw, where are you?" Matt roared. "We have to get them back!" Mike said. Anson nodded. "Let's go!" He replied and the group headed off.

Bonnie and Clyde were now at the harbor. Clyde turned towards the bridge to see Officer Jenny on the other side. "Ha, out plan worked! They can't get across!" He laughed. "Told ya!" Bonnie replied. She spied the ferry that Mike and co were planning to take. "We can't steal that one, as they'll be on it!" She said. She then spied a small sailboat. "There!" She roared. The two approached it and Bonnie placed the sac in the boat.

Mike and co rushed through the streets asking everyone if they saw two strange people go by. They got a few leads, and ended up at the harbor just in time to see Team Steam shove off. "They're getting away!" Mike yelled. "Not today!" Jeff roared and leapt onto the beach. Little did he know it was a bigger drop then expected. He landed with a thud on the ground. "Ugh…" he said weakly as the other three approached. "Nice try!" Mike replied. "Goodbye morons!" Bonnie said and blew a kiss. "Get back here!" Mike yelled. "Ok…NOT!" Clyde laughed. Bonnie shot him a look and he sat down. "Stay here, I have an idea!" Mike said to the others. He grabbed Anson's skateboard and ran.

The dock had a railing that lead towards Team's Steam and their getaway boat. The boat was already going by it and Mike knew he didn’t have a lot of time. He chucked the board onto the railing and leapt on, grinding down the side and off the dock. With a splash he landed close to the boat. "Get away!" Bonnie yelled. "Wooper, stop him!" She then commanded. Wooper leapt in the water. Mike surfaced and began to swim to the boat, but was pulled under. Wooper grinned as it pulled him farther under. Mike tugged, but it wouldn't let go, and it was definitely stronger then him under water. This was it, Mike was going to drown by a Wooper pulling him down.

He couldn't breathe and needed air, but the smiling Pokemon kept pulling him down. Suddenly, Wooper hit what looked like the bottom. But is wasn't. It was the back of a very large Pokemon. Mike had seen them in a whale watching tour he took. It was a Wailord! The Pokemon was passing by and seemed to be agitated by the small being that touched it. It began to rise very fast. Bonnie and Clyde watched the water under them begin to bubble. "What the hell?" Bonnie said looking at Clyde. Suddenly, their boat was not in the water anymore. They were on the Wailord. Mike shook his foot very hard and Wooper flew off.

"No, this can't be possible!" Bonnie yelled. Mike took the time to grab the bag while the two were too shocked to move. He dug through the sack and found the familiar greenish Poketech balls. He threw one, but it happened to be Skitty. "Oops, your Amanda's Pokemon!" He smiled. After several more tries, Mike finally found Aron. Mike looked to see the two still had Croconaw. Wailord began to descend back into the water. "Aron use take down!" Mike yelled. Bonnie finally realized what happened and turned as Aron smashed into their boat. "Slugma, go!' Clyde said throwing the ball. Water erupted all around as Wailord continued to dive. "Tackle!" mike yelled. Aron tackled Slugma and sent if flying. Suddenly, they were all in water again. Wailord descended completely and was gone. Slugma struggled, but the water took it out. Clyde recalled it. "No fair!" He yelled.

Mike grinned. "Aron was happily swimming around. "Aron get Croconaw back!" Mike yelled. Aron nodded and leapt into the boat. Bonnie tried to grab it, but it dodged and metal clawed the ropes around the Pokemon. Croconaw leapt into the water. "Now Aron, use take down!" Mike yelled. Aron smashed into the side of the boat and Team Steam was sent flying. Mike thanked his Pokemon and grabbed on as it swam him back to shore.

Matt thanked Mike for getting his Pokemon back and everyone got their Pokeballs returned properly. "Well, I'm off!' Matt said to Mike as he and Kevin went in a different direction. The sun was setting and Mike and co were ready to board the ferry. "See ya!" Mike yelled. "Good luck Mike!" Anson said. Mike smiled. "See ya around. Maybe we'll have a rematch!" Mike smiled. The group then boarded the ferry as it began to head off.

    Chapter 16 like i promised

Chapter 16: Mike and Tropius! Field of the Grass Types!

Mike and friends were now on the deck of the ferry. Mike looked out to see a Wailord pod rising from the water. One fired water from its spout and descended. "Great Pokemon, aren't they?" A sailor said stepping up. "Yeah, and I was on the back of one yesterday. They're huge!" Mike replied. The sailor smiled and continued to mop the deck. "Mike, there's the harbor!" Amanda said pointing ahead. The next island was coming into view. "Awesome, time for my next badge!" Mike yelled back. "Actually, there is no gym in this town. Its about a days walk after we dock." Amanda replied.

The three got off the boat and looked around. "Nice place!" Mike smiled. It was like a jungle. The city was mixed in with trees and shrubbery everywhere. "This is Vineal City." Amanda informed them looking at the map. "Wow, looks pretty stupid. You think after 2000 years of development they would've ditched the trees." Jeff replied. Amanda shot him a look. "Well, shouldn't be too long till we reach Cinder Town. That's where the next gym is." Amanda replied. "Well then, let's head off!" Mike said. The other two nodded.

The group walked for some time, leaving Vineal City about an hour ago. There was a lot of valley to head through, but soon the group found themselves in a grassy field. "What a place!" Mike said as they continued on. "It's so beautiful!" Amanda added. "What is this dump?" Jeff said with no emotion at all. "That map says we are in Gregrass Fields. It is a 5 mile field of flowers and trees that grass Pokemon love!" Amanda informed them. Mike looked around. He then noticed she was right. A group of Bellossom were dancing. "Wow, they're cute!" Amanda grinned. "Yeah, if you like girly dancing Pokemon!" Jeff replied. " I wouldn't be talking Jeff. You're the one who has two grass Pokemon!" Amanda said grinning. "Hey grass Pokemon aren't bad!" He replied.

The group decided to take a short break in the fields for a bit and have some lunch. Amanda made sandwiches and they all sat down to enjoy them. Some Skiploom flew around in the distance. "Look at those!" Mike said pointing to them. "Wow, it's so peaceful here!" Amanda said taking in the fresh air. Mike continued to watch the Skiploom. Suddenly, a long necked Pokemon rose from the hill. It had a bushel of leaves in its mouth and was munching on them, much like how a cow eats grass.

"What's that?" Mike asked. Amanda turned and spied it also. "Dunno…" She replied. Mike pulled out his Pokedex. "Tropius; the fruit Pokemon. The bunches or fruit around Tropius's neck are very popular with children. This Pokemon loves fruit, and eats it continuously. Apparently, its love for fruit resulted in its own outgrowth of fruit." It replied. "Wow, that's a really cool Pokemon!" Mike then said. "I'm going to catch one!" Amanda gave him a look. "I don't know. It's really big and your Pokemon might not be able to handle it." Amanda replied. "Let the little boy catch his giant fruit!" Jeff said yawning. Mike grinned and ran across the field.

He reached the top of the hill to see the Tropius continuing to graze below. Its head rose again as it lazily ate. The head towered over Mike. "Wow!" Mike said in awe. The Pokemon took no notice of him and continued to graze. Mike pulled a ball from his belt. "Go Combusken!" He whispered. The ball opened and Combusken appeared, but the giant Pokemon still took no notice to them. "Ok Combusken. This Pokemon might be bigger, but you're stronger!" Mike whispered. Combusken nodded and turned.

"Ok, use flamethrower!" Mike yelled. Tropius finally turned as the blazing stream headed toward it. With a quick maneuver, it took to the skies, dodging the attack. "It can fly?" Mike said in shock. He pulled the Pokedex out again. "Tropius is a grass/flying type!" It muttered. "Thanks for telling me!" Mike replied and angrily put the machine away. Tropius bellowed and flew towards Combusken. "Dodge!" Mike yelled. Combusken quickly stepped aside, but with a swing of its mighty neck, it was sent flying. "Combusken get up!" Mike yelled. Combusken was up, but Tropius was ready. It created a powerful tornado with its leaf wings and shot it off. Combusken was sucked into it. "No!" Mike yelled. The tornado soon faded and Combusken landed hard on the ground. With a final bellow, Tropius flew off.

"Are you ok?" Mike asked his Pokemon. Combusken weakly got up and gave a small thumbs up. "Take a rest buddy!" Mike said recalling it. "Wow, nice try!' Jeff smirked from the top of the hill. "Now hurry up and come back before I eat your sandwich!" He added in. "You think I'm giving up?" Mike grinned. He then sprinted across the field after Tropius. "Fine, leave then! See if I care!" Jeff roared. He walked back to camp where Amanda was sun bathing. "You know what, both of you are very boring!" He screamed. Amanda ignored him. "I'm going to die a very angry man!" He then added in. He then grabbed Mike's sandwich and took a bite.

Team Steam lazily marched into Gregrass fields. "Wow, we're finally here!" Bonnie said as they entered. "A day's walk from that stupid city. Now we have all sorts of Pokemon to catch!" Bonnie smirked. She then pulled something large from her belt. "Ready?" She grinned. "Of course!" Clyde said pulling the same object from his belt. "How often do we get to use flamethrowers?" He grinned.

Tropius landed in a large oasis of fruit trees. It happily munched on some bananas as Mike stalked it. "Now how am I going to catch you?" He though to himself. Tropius lazily ate as Mike watched it for some time, just thinking. "Since you're part flying, I'll try Electrike!" He finally decided. He threw the Pokeball. Electrike appeared chasing its tail. It then spied Tropius and started to run toward it. "Stop!" Mike said pulling it back. "We need the element of surprise on this one buddy!" Mike informed it. Electrike nodded, then leapt from his hands and into the oasis, barking madly. Tropius looked down and bellowed as Mike put his hand to his forehead and shook his head.

"So much for the element of surprise!" He screamed out. Electrike looked back at him happily and returned to him. It hid behind him. "O, now you want to stay hidden!" Mike roared. Tropius lowered its head and sniffed Mike. With a giant bellow, it began to flap its leaves, creating another gust. "Run!" Mike yelled and took off. Electrike didn't follow. It happily barked at Tropius. "Electrike, get over here!" Mike yelled. Electrike didn't pay any attention and continued to bark. It was obviously not threatened by Tropius's size. The large Pokemon released the whirlwind and Mike watched in horror as his best pal was sucked inside. "No!" He yelled and ran toward it. Tropius bellowed and again took to the sky.

The whirlwind stopped and Electrike began to fall. Mike caught it. "You ok?" He asked worried. Electrike leapt from his hands and angrily barked at the retreating Pokemon. "Maybe I shouldn't try to catch it…" Mike said sadly. Before he could think, Electrike was rushing after it. "Come back here!" Mike yelled and chased it. Jeff had finished Mike's sandwich and was now sitting down board. He turned to the left and saw a Tangela hopping up and down. "What do you want?" He asked. It let out a cry and Jeff threw a stick at it. The Pokemon ran off. "Ha-ha, yeah you better run!" Jeff yelled.

Bonnie shoved the last Bellossom in the bag. It was a workout, but they managed to get every one. Clyde was becoming a pyro. He let loose the flamethrower into the forest, flushing out many grass Pokemon. Slugma then attacked them and Bonnie stuffed them in the back. Suddenly, a giant shadow flew over them. Bonnie looked up to see Tropius landing a few yards away. Clyde didn't seem to notice. He was too busy letting off the flamethrower and giving evil laughs. Bonnie grabbed him and turned his attention to the massive Pokemon. "Look, big time capture!" She grinned. Clyde smiled.

Mike came over the hill to see Team Steam approaching the Pokemon he had been pursuing all day. "Great, I thought we wouldn't be seeing them for a while!" He said angrily. Tropius bellowed as Team Steam approached. It began to conjure up a whirlwind, but Clyde went loose with the flamethrower. It struck Tropius, which fell back. "Oh my god! They're going to kill it!" Mike yelled. He ran up the hill telling them to stop. "Oh great, not him!" Bonnie roared. She then released Wooper. "Take care of him!" She yelled. Wooper nodded and created and earthquake. The ground shook under Mike and he fell. Electrike also was blown back.

"Stay out of this kid. This Tropius is now Team Steam property!" Bonnie laughed. Clyde continued to strike it with the flamethrower. Tropius bellowed in pain and collapsed on the ground. Mike was now filled with anger. "Your going to kill it!" He yelled. Bonnie shrugged and turned back. "Electrike, quick attack!" Mike yelled. Electrike ran full speed into Wooper, knocking it back. Mike then noticed the bag of Pokemon. "Use bite on that bag!" Mike yelled. Electrike ran at it. "Oh no!" Clyde yelled as it approached. "Who cares about those Pokemon, we almost have this one!" Bonnie replied. Electrike tore into the bag and the grass Pokemon ran out.

"Now to stop them!" Mike said. "What you going to do?" Bonnie laughed. Mike ran at her full speed. "What are you doing?" She screamed as he tackled her. The two tumbled down the hill, Bonnie screaming the whole way. Clyde finally stopped the flamethrower. "Bonnie?" He yelled. Tropius let out a weak bellow. It was obviously hurt. Mike appeared on the hill again. Bonnie came back seconds later, yelling like a madwoman. "How dare you tackle me!" She screamed. "Electrike, quick attack!" He ordered. Electrike rammed into Bonnie, sending her flying into Clyde. "Now use spark!" Mike yelled. Electrike launched the attack, striking them. The flamethrower burst in an explosion, and Team Steam were sent flying.

Mike then turned his attention to the fallen Tropius. "Now's my chance!" He whispered. "I can catch it and take it to the Pokemon Center." Mike pulled out a Pokeball. He wound his arm up and tossed it at Tropius. The ball struck the Pokemon and it was sucked inside…But it struck the wrong Pokemon! Mike watched as the ball flew through the air just as a stray Tangela ran in front of Tropius. The ball struck it and sucked it inside! It shook a few times then stopped. Mike stared with his mouth open. Tropius suddenly absorbed energy from the sun, using synthesis to heal itself. As Mike stood there to shocked to move, it flew off.

Amanda and Jeff approached from the hill. "We heard the commotion. What happened?" Amanda asked. Mike didn't respond. "Hello?" She asked. "Ball catch a running Tangela, no Tropius for Mikie!" Mike said in a shocked manner. "What are you babbling about?" Amanda asked. "Woops, that would possibly be my fault. I made the Tangela run this way!" Jeff said embarrassedly. Mike picked up the Pokeball. "No Tropius, Mike have Tangela!" He gave a crazy grin. "He's going insane!" Amanda whispered to Jeff. Mike released the Pokemon. Tangela hopped up and down and rubbed against Mike's leg. "All that work and I catch a Tangela!" He roared.

Jeff backed away as Mike approached him. "Don't hurt me!" He screamed. Suddenly, Tangela ran ahead of Mike. It cried out and tangled Jeff up with its vines. "Wow, it knows just what I wanted to do!" Mike smiled. "Maybe we'll be getting along well!" He smirked. Tangela squeezed Jeff as Mike laughed away. After some time, it released him. "Punishment complete! Thanks Tangela!" Mike grinned. "My spine!" Jeff yelled. Amanda laughed. Mike recalled his new Pokemon. "Ah well, no worries I guess. I have a gym to get to! Let's go!" He yelled and marched off. Amanda followed and Jeff dragged himself after…

Thanks for the comments guys, and thanks for being such abid readers of my fanfic. I appreciate it! Anyways,

Chapter 17: Cinder Town Gym! A Flaming Outcome!

They were finally here! After 2 weeks worth of traveling, Mike was now ready to compete for his 2nd badge. The three entered the city. "Man, did someone just turn up the heat?" Jeff said panting. "It says that Cinder Town lies by a volcano, and so the magma heats the town up." Amanda read. "Yeah, but why couldn't it be snow or something. Cold is better then heat! I'm going to die!" Jeff replied. Amanda rolled her eyes. "The gym isn't too far into the town; its not very big." She then added. Mike nodded. "Time to win me a badge!" He smiled.

"Well well well!" Bonnie smirked from atop a nearby building. "Looks like we landed in the right place at the right time!" Clyde leaned over the edge. "Why you say that?" he asked. She turned and gave him a beating upside the head. "Because the morons are right below!" She roared. "Hand me the net!" Clyde went over to the duffel bag and pulled out the giant net. He handed it to her and the two prepared to throw it.

Mike and co were now passing under. "Now!" Bonnie yelled as the two hustled the net off the side. It made a lot of noise going down, and Mike and co looked up just as it snagged them. "Now pull them up!" Bonnie screamed with delight. They began to heave, pulling Mike and co from the ground. "What is this?" Mike asked. "I feel like a fish!" Jeff added in. "I can't reach my belt!" Mike said trying to grab a Pokemon. "Well it's right in my face!" Amanda said. She was positioned at eye level to Mike's belt, but also his crotch. "Very embarrassing position if I do say so myself!" She yelled. "Ha, you like it!" Mike joked.

"Now grab one of my balls!" Mike said laughing. "Sick!" Amanda roared. "You know what I mean!" Mike laughed again. Amanda squirmed a bit and was able to grab a Pokeball. She thrusted it out the net. It landed with a pop on the ground and Mike's Tangela formed. "Hey Tangela!" Mike yelled down. The Pokemon looked up and began to jump. "Cut these nets for me buddy!" Mike yelled. Tangela nodded and released a razor leaf. "What does it think it's doing?" Bonnie roared. The leaves slashed at the net and the group found themselves falling. With the sudden jerk, Bonnie and Clyde sprawled over the edge and became tangled in the net. A part of it snagged the roof and they were now hanging there. "Ha, hate to leave you hanging, but I have a gym match!" Mike laughed. He recalled the jumping Tangela and walked off. "You'll be sorry!" Clyde threatened as they left.

The group finally cam upon the gym. "Here it is Mike!" Amanda smiled. Mike stepped up and pushed aside the doors. It was even hotter inside the gym. He took one step before a small volcano erupted. It turns out they were in front of the battlefield, which was covered in lava pits that erupted. "Who's there?" A voice called out. Mike turned to see a young man with red hair. A ponytail slung down his side. "I'm Mike, and I am here for a gym battle!" Mike replied. "Well then, why don't we get this party started?" He laughed. "The name's Arson and I'm the Cinder Town Gym Leader!" He said smiling. "Is a two on two Pokemon battle ok with you?" He then said. Mike nodded. "Ref, get in here!" Arson roared. A small old man appeared with flags. "Get to your post grandpa!" Arson laughed. The old man did as ordered.

Arson took his side of the field and Mike went to the other. "You know the rules!" Arson roared. Mike nodded. "I choose you, Quilava!" Arson said throwing the Pokeball. Mike reached into his belt and pulled out one of his own. "Go Taillow!" Mike roared. The ball erupted and Taillow blazed straight up. "Hmm, interesting choice!" Arson laughed. "Quilava, use flame wheel!" He then commanded. Quilava nodded and released a spinning arch of fire. "Taillow, dodge and use wing attack!" Mike commanded. Taillow spun out of the way and smashed into Quilava. A bruise appeared across the Pokemon's face.

"Don't take that!" Arson roared. "Use quick attack!" Quilava spun around and in a flash of speed, it struck Taillow. "Are you ok?" Mike asked. Taillow fly back. It was a little stunned, but fine. "Use your quick attack!" Mike then replied. Taillow zoomed full speed at Quilava, but it dodged. "Sorry bud, but Quilava is a speedy Pokemon!" Arson laughed. "Quilava, flamethrower!" The Pokemon released the streaming blaze straight at Taillow. "Taillow, use double team!" Mike yelled. Taillow created copies of itself and the flames hit a fake out. "Now, wing attack!" Taillow flashed by Quilava, smashing its wing into its gut. Quilava cried in pain and flew back. "Quilava, get up!" Arson yelled. The Pokemon was on its feet again. It was breathing heavily and Mike could tell it was hurting.

"Ok, use another flame wheel!" Arson ordered. "Double team!" Mike yelled. The familiar group of Taillows emerged. The flame wheel struck one, and too Mike's horror, it was the real Taillow! The swallow cried out as the flames enveloped it and it fell to the ground. Mike saw the ref hold the left flag up, signaling a win for Quilava. "Return!" Mike yelled and recalled his Pokemon. "Well now, getting worried?" Arson laughed. "Not today!" Mike yelled and threw another Pokeball. Electrike appeared chasing its tail. "Not now!" Mike sighed grabbing his head. Electrike stopped and growled happily. "You think he can win?" Amanda asked Jeff. "You asked me that last gym match bimbo!" Jeff replied. "But this looks pretty bad!" Amanda nodded.

"Electrike, use quick attack!" Mike yelled. "Quilava, use your quick attack!" Arson commanded. Both Pokemon blazed towards each other. Mike hoped Electrike was faster. With a quick dodge, Electrike sent itself smashing into Quilava. The Pokemon rolled a bit, then weakly got up. "Thunder wave!" Mike yelled. Tinny circles of electricity emitted from Electrike and hit Quilava. The Pokemon was now paralyzed. "Now spark!" Mike roared. Electrike let off the ball of electricity. "Dodge!" Arson commanded. Quilava tried, but the paralysis held it in place. The spark made contact and Quilava was down. "Return!" Arson angrily said.

"All tied up!" Mike laughed. "Yes, but you're about to loose!" Arson replied throwing a Pokeball. A small camel Pokemon formed. "Numel; the numb Pokemon. Numel is extremely dull witted- it doesn't notice being hit. However, it can't stand hunger for even a second. This Pokemon's body is a seething cauldron of boiling magma." Mike's Pokedex read. "Wow, sounds like a challenge!" mike laughed. "Your in for a shock boy!" Arson laughed. "Electrike, use quick attack!" Mike yelled. Electrike rushed at Numel full speed. "Numel, use magnitude!" Numel sat there for a few seconds, and then got the order through its head. With a smash of its foot, Electrike was sent flying.

"It knows ground attacks?" Mike said in shock. "Numel is part ground of course!" Arson laughed. "Electrike, electricity won't work. We have to focus on your physical attacks! You tackle!" Mike yelled. Electrike nodded and rushed in. It smashed into Numel, but it didn't seem to feel the pain. "Magnitude again!" Arson grinned. Once again, Electrike was sent flying. "Get up buddy, we can still win this!" Mike yelled. "Oh no you can't!" Arson pointed and laughed. Mike watched in horror as Numel began to glow, taking the form of a new Pokemon.

"Camerupt; the eruption Pokemon. Camerupt has a volcano inside its body. Magma of 18,000 degrees F courses through its body. Occasionally, the humps on this Pokemon's back erupt, spewing the superheated magma." His Pokedex read. "This is over!" Arson said laughing. "Earthquake!" Camerupt roared and began the quake. A crack in the ground rushed towards Electrike, but Mike picked it up before it connected. "I fold!" Mike sad sadly. "Ha, nice decision kid!" Arson laughed. Amanda looked on saddened. "He wasn't ready…" Jeff replied. Arson recalled Camerupt. "Come back when you can really battle kid!" He said and disappeared from sight.

Mike sat in the Pokecenter lobby, waiting for Electrike to be healed. It was now 3 Am and he couldn't sleep. "How could I loose?" He muttered to himself. He then grabbed his vest and put it back on. He left the center and into the steaming city streets. There wasn't much there, but he needed some air. He walked for some time, and then found a 24 hour drug store. After selecting a candy bar, he approached the desk. "That'll be $1.00!" The cashier said. Mike handed her the money and left. He finished the candy quick. "Been a long time since I've had one of you" He muttered to himself. Suddenly, Amanda joined him. "I saw you leave…" She whispered. "Yeah, I had to get some air." He replied. "Look, you gave it your all today. We can leave and come back when you're ready." She began. "NO! I am not leaving this town until I beat him!" Mike roared. Amanda was a little disappointed. "Well how do you propose to do that?" Amanda asked. "I'll find a way, mark my words!" He replied with a smile.

Chapter 18: The Problem Solved! Pokemon Fishing!

Mike sat in the Pokemon Center with Amanda sleeping in his lap. They had been walking all night and she was very tired by the time they got back, but Mike still couldn't sleep. Jeff walked out of the room they were supposed to be staying in. "Am I the only person here who knows what a bed is?" He smirked. "Yes Jeff, you are…" Mike rolled his eyes. Amanda slowly began to awake. She sat up. "What time is it?" She asked. "Noon!" Jeff smirked.

Nurse Joy then approached. Taillow was on her shoulder and Electrike was at her feet. Both Pokemon looked healthy. "Hey guys!" Mike said getting up. Taillow flew onto his shoulder and began to peck away at his head. "This time I deserve that!" Mike laughed. Electrike yelped and rubbed against his leg. "Nice to see you're feeling better. Sorry I pushed that battle on you." Mike replied. Electrike just happily barked. "Wow, what a touching moment. Let me go vomit!" Jeff said sarcastically.

Mike then saw Nurse Joy hanging a small poster on the wall. "Water Pokemon Fishing; fish all day for only 20 bucks!" It read. "Hmm, fire and ground types are both weak against water. If I had a water type, Camerupt wouldn't stand a chance!" Mike grinned. "I think I found a solution!" He said turning to the others. "What, you going to beg?" Jeff smirked. "No, look at the sign!" Amanda pointed to it and Jeff shot a look. "Can't see without my contacts love." He replied. "Who cares, let's just go!" Mike said.

Mike wrote down the directions from the sign and they headed off. "It looks like this place is just outside the town!" Mike said. They headed on, noticing that the road was getting steeper. "What, are we going to fish in the volcano?" Jeff asked. Mike and Amanda ignored him like always. Suddenly, they could hear the familiar shouts of a battle going on. Mike turned to see two kids dueling it out. "Sneasel, use slash!" One said. "Sableye, dodge and use shadow ball!" The other said. Sableye disappeared and reappeared behind Sneasel. It pulled back its hands, laughing as it sucked in energy to create a black orb.

"Two dark Pokemon in a fight to the death!" Jeff grinned. "I don't think they are killing each other." Mike replied. Sableye let the orb go and it smashed into Sneasel, taking it out. The two trainers shook hands and the Sneasel one departed. Jeff was instantly over there. "That was a cool match!" He said to the trainer. "Yep, all dark battles are!" The trainer replied. "Wow, you train dark types? They're my specialty too, though I have never had a dark battle yet." Jeff replied. "Well then, the name's Joey, and I'll be your first!" He smiled. "Go on ahead guys, I'll catch up!" Jeff yelled back. Amanda shook her head. "Guess we might as well, this could take a while." Mike and Amanda continued up the hill as Jeff pulled a Pokeball from his belt.

"How 'bout a two on two match?" Jeff grinned. "Fine by me, in fact, let's make this a double battle!" Joey grinned. "Double battle?" Jeff asked confused. "It's where we both use two Pokemon at once dimwit!" Joey laughed. Jeff nodded. "Go Nuzleaf and Poochyena!" He said throwing the Pokeballs. They landed on the ground, both opening to form his dark types. "I choose you, Sableye and Murkrow!" Joey said. His Pokemon formed and the battle began.

Mike looked up at the rundown fish shop. "This is the place." He said wearily. Amanda seemed a bit disgusted. The two walked inside to find a very dirty man in fishing gear. He carried a canteen of rum in his hand. "What can I do you for?" He said grinning; his yellow teeth exposed. "Um, I'd like to fish!" Mike said slowly. "Well then Mr…" "Mike, my name's Mike." Mike cut in. "Well then Mike, here's your rod and bait!" He said handing Mike the supplies. "That'll just be 20 bucks!" Mike fished through his vest and handed the money to the disgusting man. "Have a fun time!" He grinned. Amanda ran out of the store as fast as possible with Mike not far behind.

"Poochyena, use bite!" Jeff roared as Murkrow dived towards him. Poochyena leapt aside and bite onto the crow's wing. Suddenly, it was knocked off by a shadow ball. "Poochyena!" Jeff yelled. "Ha, how do you expect to win if your Pokemon don't look out for each other? I saw no effort to save Poochyena in your Nuzleaf." Joey replied. Nuzleaf glared at him; arms folded. "Nuzleaf, get that Sableye!" Jeff roared. Nuzleaf leapt at it, but Sableye just disappeared. "Use scratch!" Joy yelled. Sableye reappeared behind Nuzleaf and scratched it hard. Nuzleaf sprawled across the ground. "Poochyena, stop Sableye!" Jeff yelled. Poochyena started towards it, but Murkrow wing attacked it down. "This is not looking good!" Jeff thought to himself.

Mike cast the line out from the cliff he and Amanda were on. "This looks like a good spot!" He smiled and sat down. As he waited for the line to catch something, he and Amanda began to talk about the past. "And remember when I was banned from your house for over a month for breaking the TV!" Mike laughed. Amanda smiled. "Fun times, who would've thought chucking a remote at a big screen could put a hole in it!" She laughed. Suddenly, the line snagged something. "Would you like the honors?" Mike asked handing Amanda the rod. She nodded and began to reel the line in.

To their surprise, a Magikarp came up flailing. "Oh my, what the heck is that?" Amanda screamed. She dropped the pole and the Pokemon flopped around on land. "Not a good choice, Magikarp are weak!" Mike laughed. He unhooked it and threw it into the lake. He cast the line out again. "Let's see what else we can snag, shall we?" He smiled.

"Murkrow, use faint attack!" Joey yelled. The Pokemon smashed into Poochyena, but Nuzleaf was now there to tackle it away. "You're finally getting the hand of this." Joey smiled. "Sableye, shadow ball!" Sableye smiled and released another black orb. It headed straight for Poochyena, but Nuzleaf leapt in the way. It took the attack and hit the ground hard. "Nuzleaf!" Jeff yelled. It tried to stand, but it collapsed. "One down!" Joey smirked. Jeff recalled Nuzleaf. "You did great buddy!" He whispered. Poochyena was a little frightened, as it now had two enemies to face. "Poochyena, use bite!" Jeff yelled. The Pokemon rushed at Murkrow, but it dodged.

Mike hook had snagged 2 more Magikarps. "Isn't there anything else in this lake?" He screamed. He chucked a large boulder in. "Go away Magikarps!" He roared. There was suddenly a flash of light in the lake and a serpent Pokemon rose. "Gyarados!!!" Amanda screamed. The Gyarados seemed angry. A large bump protruded from its head. "Woops…" Mike whispered. "Suddenly, Amanda and Mike were whacked by its mighty tail. They flew through the air screaming. "Now I know what Team Steam feels like!" Mike screamed as they landed farther up the mountain. "Ow, my head!" Amanda said holding it. She was waist deep in water.

Amanda looked for Mike, who was on shore. He was screaming something, but she couldn't make it out. Suddenly, a small fin rose from the water. Several more appeared and she knew why Mike was yelling. A school of Carvanha was now surrounding her. She began to wade away slowly, but the Pokemon started to follow. One leapt from the water to take a bite, but she ducked. "Hurry!" Mike yelled. She was nearing shore, but suddenly was pulled under…

"Murkrow get up!" Joey yelled. The Pokemon was out. Poochyena growled triumphantly. "Return!" He said recalling it. "Now its just Poochyena and Sableye!" He informed Jeff. "Oh really, I didn't notice!" Jeff yelled back. Joey rolled his eyes. "Sableye, use faint attack!" He yelled. "You too Poochyena!" Jeff replied. Both Pokemon disappeared and reappeared on opposite sides of the field. "That was pointless!" Jeff remarked. "Poochyena, bite it!" Poochyena lunged at Sableye, but it disappeared and reappeared behind it. "Lick!" Joey commanded. Sableye gave an insane laugh and smiled big; opening its mouth to reveal its tongue. The tongue wrapped around Poochyena and left it paralyzed. "Poochyena!" Jeff yelled. "Now use shadow ball!" Joey smiled as Sableye launched the black orb. It struck Poochyena taking it out. "Return!" Jeff said sadly. "Great match!" Joey called out. "Sure…" Jeff replied.

Mike was now underwater. He had leapt in as soon as Amanda disappeared. Some retarded fish were not going to take her from him. She was being pulled under by the raging Pokemon. Mike grabbed her arm and pulled. The Carvanha lost their grips. Mike and Amanda surfaced. She wasn't hurt, but was gasping for air. He pulled her ashore and wiped back her hair. "You ok?" He grinned. "Yeah…" She smiled. After several awkward moments, Mike turned his attention to the Carvanha. "They're perfect!" Mike smiled. "You actually want one after it almost ate us?" Amanda yelled. Mike turned back. "Of course!"

"Go Tangela!" He threw the Pokeball and his grass type appeared. It hopped up and down as Mike thought of a plan. "Pull one in with vine whip!" He ordered. Tangela nodded and released its vines. The Carvanha dove and its vines followed. Suddenly, Tangela was being pulled forward. "Tangela!" Mike yelled and dove. He caught it by the legs before it was pulled into the water. After a heavy heave, a Carvanha flew from the river connected to Tangela's vine. "I didn't even need the rod!" Mike yelled. "Tangela, use razor leaf!" Tangela let loose the attack, but the Carvanha let go and dodged. It landed in the water and surfaced.

The Carvanha leapt at Tangela and used crunch, knocking it back. "Tangela, use stun spore!" Mike yelled. Tangela recovered and let loose the spore, striking Carvanha. It fell on land and flopped around paralyzed. "Now tackle it!" He yelled. Tangela leapt at Carvanha, but the Pokemon flopped away and used crunch blowing it back. "Wow, for a fish it can battle on land decent enough. "Tangela, razor leaf!" Mike yelled again. Tangela released the attack, this time blowing Carvanha away. "Pokeball go!" Mike yelled tossing the ball. It struck Carvanha and pulled it inside. After several shakes, he had a new Pokemon. "Great job Tangela!" Mike yelled. It happily hopped up and down as Mike grabbed his Pokeball.

Amanda and Mike headed back down the hill. They both saw Jeff depressed on a bench. "What’s up Jeff?" Mike asked. "I suck! That's what!" He replied. "I lost!" "Jeff, you're just starting to train dark types. You can't win every match." Amanda informed him. Mike nodded. "I lost my gym match, and it took a lot out of me, but I keep trying!" He added in. Jeff stood up. "You’re right!" He smiled. "So what did you catch?" He asked. "A Carvanha!" Mike grinned. "A dark type! Give it to me!" He yelled. Mike shook his head. "This one's mine buddy. But you can do me a favor and return this fishing equipment!" Mike grinned. Amanda laughed. "Fine!" Jeff replied and headed up the hill. "See you at the Pokecenter!" Mike grinned. "Time for my rematch!"

Jeff made it to the fishing store and soon realized why Mike sent him on this errand. "Do you know what a shower is? You smell like a rotting fish!" Jeff yelled. The man gave an angry look. "Dude, brush your teeth, comb your hair, go to fricking Target and buy some clothes!" Jeff yelled. The man began to get out from the desk. "My bad, do what you like sir!" Jeff said and ran from the store. Meanwhile, Team Steam still hung from the building. "When do you think someone will rescue us?" Clyde asked. "Shut up and keep gnawing!" Bonnie replied. Clyde sighed and continued to bite at the net as the sun set…

Good chapters. So Mike lost to the Gym leader, even though he fought a good match. But now he has a water type, hopefully he'll win the rematch. Keep it up.

Thanks RJ, anyways, here's Chapter 19!

Chapter 19: Carvanha Vs Camerupt! Cinder Town Rematch!

Mike was now once again the Pokecenter of Cinder Town. He was planning on heading back to the gym today, but he had other priorities at the moment. The video phone rang several times and his mother picked up. "Hi honey, it's so good to hear from you!" She smiled. "It's been a while mom. Miss me?" He asked grinning. "Of course! I spoke to your brother; he said you actually helped him out earlier!" "Yeah, I did a lot of things since I started." Mike grinned. "How are your friends?" His mom then asked. "They're fine. Right now they are sleeping. We've had a busy week." Mike replied. "Why aren't you?" He mom asked. "Can't sleep, I have a big gym match today."

"Oh, how many will that make?" She asked excitedly. "Two!" Mike said a little embarrassedly. "Wow!" His mom replied. "Well I have to go now mom!" Mike smiled. "See you honey!" And with that the two hung up. Mike walked out to the backyard of the center where he released his Pokemon. Electrike was chasing its tail as normal. Aron was sleeping. Combusken was practicing its kicks, Tangela was hopping up and down, Taillow landed on his shoulder and pecked at him, but Carvanha just sat in the pool.

"What's the matter Carvanha?" Mike asked kneeling down as Taillow pecked away. Carvanha eyed Mike angrily, and then dove under. "It's called Pokemon Pride Syndrome…" Mike turned to see Nurse Joy behind him. "Did you just catch that Carvanha?" She asked. "Yes, just yesterday." Mike replied. "Well then that's why. Carvanha has lost its pride. Pokemon like it usually have tough guy attitudes, and it doesn't suit them when they are caught." She explained. "Carvanha will warm up to you eventually, but for now, it may be a bit of a problem."

Mike watched the fish swimming below in the clear pond. "So what must I do?" He asked turning to Joy. "Nothing much you can do…" She replied. "Carvanha has to accept the fact that it has been caught. Only then will it perform to your liking." Mike was a little depressed by this. "I have a rematch against Arson today. Do you think it will help me?" He asked. "It's a long shot, but you could try." Joy said. She then smiled and headed back inside the center. Mike looked at his new Pokemon again. "I need you Carvanha. Swallow your pride and help me today." He whispered.

Clyde had finally managed to gnaw through the net. The two of them fell 20 feet to the ground below. "Next time, think of a plan that doesn't hurt so much!" Bonnie complained. "It was your plan!" Clyde replied. Bonnie gave him a dirty look. "Well, we could find the moron trainers and steal their Pokemon today, but I have a better idea." She then said. "And that is?" She held up a flyer that was on the ground. "We're going fishing!" She grinned.

Amanda joined Mike in the backyard. "What's up Mike?" She asked. Mike explained to her about Carvanha. "That's why you should give it to me!" Jeff smirked. "I have no pride!" He laughed. Mike gave him a look. "Carvanha is my only hope at winning today; I have to do something to make its pride come back." He said. Carvanha rose to the surface of the pond. It eyed Mike angrily again. "What's up buddy?" Mike asked again. Carvanha grew angrier and released a water gun to his face, then dove under again. "Screw it! I can't win with this Pokemon!" Mike yelled and stormed off. Carvanha watched him go. "Mike wait!" Amanda yelled and chased after.

Jeff stared at the Carvanha for a long time. "Dude, you're not cool when you act tough!" Jeff yelled. Carvanha surfaced and water gunned him in the face. "Wow, do you feel better about yourself now? That kid over there just wants to be a good trainer to you, and you have too much pride to accept him. You make me sick!" Jeff yelled. Carvanha got extremely angry and dove under again. "Screw it, you know what…I don't like you either you stupid fish!" Jeff yelled and ran off. Carvanha starred angrily as he went.

Mike recalled all his Pokemon and even Carvanha returned. "You might as well risk it. What do you have to loose?" Amanda asked. Mike nodded. "Let's go! I'm going to win with or without Carvanha." He said. The group approached the gym. Mike was a bit nervous as he stepped inside. "Arson, I am here for a rematch!" He yelled. Arson turned from cleaning his volcano field. "Ahh, the little engine that couldn't! Come fore another loss?" He grinned. "I come to win!" Mike yelled. "Fine then engine, same rules as last time." Arson grinned.

Bonnie left the fishing shop with a disgusted look on her face. "Maybe I'll catch some deodorant to give to that man!" She yelled while coughing. Clyde carried all the equipment she got as they headed to the lake. "Time to snag me another water Pokemon. If I have two, we can beat those little morons!" She grinned. "Whatever you say!" Clyde sighed. Bonnie threw her line into the lake and minutes later she snagged something. She reeled it in and to her shock; it was a thing of deodorant. It was covered in seaweed and she unhooked it. "Well isn't that ironic?" She laughed. She cast her line again and threw the dirty can behind her. "We'll be sure to give that to the man when we return his things." She grinned.

Mike took his side of the field while Arson took his. "Well since you defeated Quilava last time, I guess I'll use a different one first!" He yelled. "Go Growlithe!" He yelled The Pokeball opened and the puppy Pokemon appeared. "Growlithe huh?" Mike said. "Carvanha can't take a fire Pokemon like Camerupt on land, so I have to find a way to get water here." He then thought to himself. "Aron go!" mike yelled and tossed the Pokeball revealing Aron. "A steel type against a fire type? Big no no!" Arson laughed.

"Growlithe, use flamethrower!" Arson yelled. "Aron use dig!" Mike commanded. The flamethrower headed towards Aron, but it dove underground at the last second. "Wait for it, and then use another flamethrower!" Arson ordered. A small hump appeared in the ground as Aron sped towards Growlithe. "Now!" Arson yelled as Aron leapt from the ground. Growlithe let off the attack, and Aron flew back, but got up seconds later. "You're forgetting Aron is part rock, fire attacks aren't as effective!" Mike grinned. "Aron, use dig to create a hole in the ground!" Mike yelled.

Aron began to dig, but just deep enough. Soon the middle of the filed was a wide, empty hole. "Now Aron, come out and use rock tomb!" Mike yelled. Aron leapt out and launched rocks at Growlithe. They struck it, holding it in place. "Take down!" Mike screamed. Aron slammed into the puppy Pokemon and it went flying. However, it wasn't out yet. Aron flew back from recoil, hurting a little. "Growlithe, use extreme speed!" Arson yelled. Growlithe raced towards Aron, and in a flash it was flying. "Aron!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon landed and got up once again.

"This is a pretty even match." Amanda said. Jeff nodded in agreement. "Aron, use rock tomb again!" "Growlithe, extreme speed!" Both Pokemon raced at each other. Aron launched the rocks, but Growlithe was already gone. It struck the Pokemon and sent it flying. "Aron, use dig!" Mike yelled. Aron dove under the ground. "Growlithe, use flamethrower like before." Arson replied. Aron dove deeper then before and Growlithe could no longer see it coming. Before it knew what happened, it was launched into the air. "Finish it with rock tomb!" Mike called. Aron launched the rocks and they squeezed Growlithe in midair. When it landed, it was out.

"Return!" Arson yelled madly. "Wow, maybe you have improved, but nothing can beat Camerupt!" He smiled as he threw the Pokeball. Camerupt formed. "Aron use dig!" Mike yelled. Aron once again dug under the ground. Mike couldn't tell where it is. Suddenly, Aron was launched into the air. It had dug into one of the volcano pts as it erupted! "Ha, tough luck Mike! Flamethrower!" Arson yelled. Camerupt let off the attack and it blasted into Aron. Aron fell down unable to battle. "Aron return!" Mike said recalling it.

"That was cheap!" Jeff yelled. "Hey, he wanted to battle in my gym, and the Pokemon League authorized the use of volcano geysers here, so no, technically it wasn't." Arson laughed. Mike pulled out Carvanha's Pokeball. It was a long shot, but he had no other choice. "Carvanha go!" Mike said releasing the Pokemon. Carvanha appeared flopping like a fish out of water. "How can that thing battle? There's no water here!" Arson laughed. "Right now there isn't!" Mike laughed. "Carvanha, fill Aron's hole with water!" Mike commanded. Carvanha looked at the hole, flopped into it, and began to use water gun. "It's obeying me!" Mike grinned.

The hole was soon filled with water and Carvanha swam around. "Impressive Mike!" Arson laughed. "Ok Carvanha, now use water gun on Camerupt!" Carvanha looked at him, and then dove under. "What?" Mike was shocked. "Looks like Carvanha just wanted a pool, it wasn't listening at all!" Jeff was pissed. "You stupid fish! I don't know why, but Mike still wants to be your trainer, show some respect!" He yelled. "Camerupt, earthquake!" Arson yelled. With one pound of its hoof, the ground began to shake. Carvanha was tossed around in the water.

"That's it, I'm going to loose again…" Mike was very depressed. "I did so well, but this Carvanha just doesn't want to swallow its pride…" Carvanha was being knocked around under the water by the earthquake. It was getting angry. It then began to think of what Jeff told it back at the Pokecenter. After some time, it emerged from the pool. Mike looked at it. "What are you doing?" Mike asked. Carvanha's face went from angry to determined, and it nodded to him. "You want to fight?" Mike asked excitedly. Carvanha nodded again.

"Ok, use water gun!" Mike commanded. Carvanha let off the attack. Arson was shocked as it struck Camerupt and sent it sprawling. "What, the fish is battling?" He screamed. "Camerupt, use take down!" Camerupt got up and charged Carvanha, but it leapt from the water and onto the land. Camerupt fell into the pool and emerged flailing around. "Now's my chance! Carvanha use crunch!" Mike yelled. Carvanha flopped back to the pool and leapt up, crunching down on Camerupt. "Now use bite!" Mike yelled. Carvanha did as ordered, pulling Camerupt onto the water. It was now completely submerged.

"Camerupt!" Arson screamed. It then rose, but it was out! "You did it Carvanha!" Mike screamed. Carvanha leapt from the water, and for the first time, it smiled. Mike ran to the pool and gave it high five. "No this can't be! You cheated!" Arson was in shock. "'Fraid no, you use the volcanoes, I use water!" Mike grinned. Arson madly recalled Camerupt. He held out a badge shaped like a burning bush. "Take it, it's the Pyro badge, and I guess you've earned it." He grinned. Mike took the badge. "I did it!" He yelled. Jeff and Amanda smiled. "Thanks for loosing the pride fishy!" Jeff winked at Carvanha and it winked back.

Meanwhile, the sun was now setting and all Bonnie caught was 10 cans of deodorant. "God, why are you punishing me?" She cried. Clyde packed up the things and returned them to the stinky man. Bonnie then handed them her spoils. "Here, you need these more then I do!" She said sadly. The man gave her a mean look as the two exited the shop. Clyde tried to cheer Bonnie up, but it was no use. She suddenly saw Mike and co heading up the hill and brightened up. "Oh, there they are! Let's go!" She smiled and they ran after them. Mike placed his new badge in the badge case and closed it. "Two down, 6 to go!" He smiled as they headed on…

Chapter 20: Reno City Lighthouse! Nuzleaf's Awesome Battle!

After finally winning his second badge, Mike and co were now heading to Reno City. "Shhh!" Mike whispered to Amanda. The two crawled slowly and pushed back some bushes. In the meadow was a group of Stantler. One cradled its fawn as the rest grazed. "They're so beautiful!" Amanda whispered. Mike nodded. He enjoyed moments like this. Being alone with Amanda made him feel like he was on cloud 9.

Suddenly, the Stantler group raised their heads. In a large amount of cries, they ran off into the forest. Mike and Amanda ducked as one leapt over their heads. When the dust settled, Mike looked out over the meadow to see what had spooked the herd so bad. Jeff was rushing toward them. "Hey guys, did you see the Stantler?" He asked waving. Mike sighed.

Mike grabbed his backpack from behind them. "Yeah I saw them Jeff, and we were actually watching them before you scared them all away." He then replied. "I know, wasn't it funny?" Jeff laughed. Mike rolled his eyes. "How far are we from Reno City?" He then asked Amanda. She checked the map. "Not that far, maybe a half hour." She smiled. "Well then let's get going." Mike replied.

Bonnie and Clyde were now dragging themselves along the road. "God hates me. That's all there is too it!" Bonnie whined. "No he doesn't, he's just busy!" Clyde tried to console her. She had been complaining the whole way and he was getting kind of tired. "I need a break!" She then replied. Clyde sighed. He needed one too, but wasn't about to speak up. Bonnie moved towards a tree at the side of the road and leaned against it. She then began batting her head on it. "What have I done with my life to deserve this?" She wailed as she smashed her head against the tree. Suddenly, a Pokemon fell from the tree and smashed into her lap.

"Ow!" She wailed. She got up and the Pokemon toppled down. "What the heck is that thing?" She screamed. The Pokemon stood on its hind legs with a broad lily pad on its head. "I'm no expert, but I believe it's a Lombre." Clyde replied. Lombre let out a low quack. "Well now, a water type are we?" She grinned. "I think god is starting to like me!" With that she pulled a Pokeball from her belt. "Go Wooper!" She yelled tossing the ball in front of Lombre.

Wooper appeared smiling away. "Wooper, use water gun!" She yelled. Wooper let loose the attack, but it didn't do a thing. "Bonnie if I may inform you of something…" Clyde began. "No!" She interrupted. Suddenly, Lombre let out another quack and a green ball exited it. It struck Wooper, taking energy from it and returning to Lombre. Wooer fell down; it was a 1 hit KO. "But…how?" Bonnie roared. "Like I wanted to tell you before, Lombre is part grass!" Clyde cut in. "Thanks for telling me you nitwit!" Bonnie barked. Lombre turned and began to leave.

"Well, better luck next time." Clyde said. "Oh no, it's not going anywhere!" Bonnie smirked. She lunged at the Lombre and tackled it. The Pokemon let out a shocked quack and toppled over. Bonnie then lurched the Pokemon up by the neck. "Your mine quackers!" She smiled. Lombre struggled, but her grip was tight. With a grin she tossed it into the tree. Lombre fell down with swirls for eyes. "Lure ball go!" She roared throwing the ball. It struck Lombre and sucked it inside. The ball shook for quite some time, and then finally stopped. "Yay!" Bonnie said picking it up. "Wow, you actually did it…" Clyde said shocked.

Mike and co were now in Reno City. They sat out on the beach. "The ferry leaves in an hour." Amanda reminded them. "Why don't we go for a dip?" Mike grinned. Amanda nodded. She grabbed her backpack and went into the nearby woman's room. Minutes later she emerged in a two piece bikini. "Uh…" Mike was in shock. "Yoo-hoo, Mike?" Jeff waved. Amanda smiled. She knew Mike was staring at her, but tried not to show it. "Oh right, swimming!" Mike finally said. He pulled off his vest and his shirt and set them down. He then went into the men's room. Jeff followed. Inside, Mike went into one stall while Jeff went in the other.

"Finally, a real restroom!" Mike laughed. "I saw you looking at her." Jeff said. "What? You're crazy." Mike said. "Don't play dumb buddy, you like her." Jeff grinned. "Jeff, I really don't feel like talking about this while I'm pissing." Mike replied. "Fine, whatever, but I can tell." Jeff laughed. Mike then got his bathing trunks on and left the bathroom. "About time!" Amanda smiled as he came out. Mike smiled. "How 'bout that dip now?" He grinned. Amanda and he ran to the sea and leapt in. "Have fun guys!" Mike said tossing his Pokeballs. Electrike ran along the beach, following its own footprints in the sand. Combusken sat down next to Aron, and they began to sleep. Taillow tried to peck Mike, but he dove under. It became annoyed and just flew around. Carvanha swam next to him and Tangela hopped on shore.

Amanda and Jeff also released their Pokemon. "You like the water Carvanha?" Mike grinned. The Pokemon nodded and dove under. Mudkip buried itself in the muddy sand. It then began to fling it around, hitting Nuzleaf. Nuzleaf backed away and folded its arms. "Loosen up Nuzleaf! Have some fun!" Jeff grinned. Nuzleaf sat down and began to make sand castle. After swimming for a half hour, Mike and Amanda came to shore again. "That was fun!" Mike laughed. "Sure was!" Amanda replied. Mike looked at her as she pulled back her wet hair. She was gorgeous, even when wet. "Suddenly, Jeff appeared in front of him. "You're doing it again!" He grinned. "Jeff, for the last time go away! Leave me alone! You've annoyed me all day!" Mike yelled. At this, Jeff backed away. "I didn't mean it." Mike let out. "That's fine, you want me gone, I'm out of here!" Jeff said angrily. He picked up his clothes and walked off the beach. Nuzleaf, Treecko, and Poochyena followed.

"I didn't mean it." Mike said looking at Amanda. "Just let him cool off." Amanda replied. Jeff put his clothes back on as he entered the city again. "Just trying to state the obvious and he blows up on me!" He roared. As he walked along the road, he was not aware that he was being watched. "Oh look, its one of those morons now!" Bonnie grinned. "Time to see how good my new Pokemon is!" She smiled.

Jeff walked on. He began to kick a small pebble as he went. Nuzleaf walked to the side of him. "At least you don't yell!" Jeff said looking at it. Nuzleaf let off a small grin. "My Pokemon are better friends then my human ones…" He then added. Treecko and Poochyena leapt up onto his shoulders. He then realized that a large lighthouse was in front of him. "Wow, that's big!" He said looking up. The light at the top was spinning, giving light off over the ocean. "Let's check it out!" He replied and walked toward the entrance. Team Steam followed close behind.

"Jeff's been gone a while." Mike said looking up at the city. "He's been gone 10 minutes…" Amanda replied. "That's a long time for Jeff." Mike said. "We better go look for him." Amanda stared at Mike for a few seconds, and then nodded. The two changed back into their clothes and recalled their Pokemon. "Who knows what trouble Jeff can get into alone." Mike smiled as they walked from the beach.

Jeff had walked up several flights of stairs and was now on the 4th floor of the lighthouse. It was cold, dark, and damp. "It's hard to see in here. You think it would be bright in a lighthouse!" Jeff said to his Pokemon. Some Zubat flew around. They stayed far away from the top though. "I want to see the top of it!" Jeff then said and headed up another flight. Team Steam came up the stairs as he ascended. "Why the hell is he going to the top?" Clyde said out of breath. "Who cares, it'll be easier to snatch his Pokemon if he can't escape!" She grinned.

Mike and Amanda searched high and low, but Jeff was nowhere to be found. Mike exited the local Burger King as Amanda searched the adult toy store. "Nothing!" She said. "But there was some gross Jeff type of things!" She laughed. Mike saw an old woman lugging a cart of apples. "Hello miss!" Mike said grabbing the cart. He positioned it on the sidewalk and woman thanked him. "Have you seen a tall gimpy teenager around here?" Mike then asked. The old woman smiled. "Yes, he was heading toward the lighthouse I do believe!" She grinned. "Thanks!" Mike replied. He then grabbed Amanda and headed off.

Jeff was now staring into the rotating light at the top of the lighthouse. "So this is what it's like!" He smiled. Suddenly, Bonnie appeared on the stairs. "Water gun! Flamethrower!" They yelled. Slugma and Wooper launched the attacks, sending Poochyena and Treecko flying from Jeff's shoulders. They hit the ground hard and Jeff recalled them. "What do you guys want?" He asked. "Why, your Pokemon of course!" Bonnie smirked. "Yeah, we don’t have any ulterior motives!" Clyde remarked. Bonnie gave him a look and an elbow to the gut. "You won't get them!" Jeff yelled. "Oh, yes we will!" Bonnie replied throwing a Pokeball. Lombre formed on the hard metal floor.

"A Lombre? Since when?" Jeff asked. "No questions boy, just hand over the Pokemon!" Bonnie replied. "Nuzleaf go!" Jeff yelled. Nuzleaf stepped in front. "Wow, your pathetic Pinocchio wants to fight does it?" Bonnie laughed. "Lombre use fury swipes!" She then yelled. Lombre raced at Nuzleaf claws wide. It smashed itself into it and began to swipe away. "Nuzleaf, get out of there!" Jeff yelled. Nuzleaf was being battered and it couldn't move. "Now use fake out!" Bonnie yelled. Lombre stopped hitting Nuzleaf. Nuzleaf backed off thinking no attack was coming, but Lombre shot forward and smashed its arm into it. Nuzleaf flew into the air and hit the wall hard.

"Nuzleaf!" Jeff yelled. Nuzleaf hit fell to the floor and weakly got up. "You can do this Nuzleaf, don't let some quack and her Pokemon beat you!" He yelled. "I resent that!" Bonnie roared. Nuzleaf then lunged itself as Lombre and smashed into it. Lombre bounced back confused. "Great Nuzleaf, now use razor leaf!" Nuzleaf released the leaves at Lombre. "Use your razor leaf too!" Bonnie commanded. The leaves struck each other and fell helplessly to the ground. "Faint attack!" Jeff yelled. Nuzleaf disappeared and reappeared behind Lombre. It smashed into it and sent it flying. "Now razor leaf!" Jeff commanded. Nuzleaf launched the attack and the leaves sliced into Lombre. When it hit the ground, tiny X's formed for its eyes.

"No! Get up you stupid duck!" Bonnie roared. She angrily recalled it. "Guess you have to leave me alone!" Jeff smirked. "Not on your life!" Bonnie yelled. "Slugma, Wooper tackle him!" Team Steam yelled in unison. The Pokemon smashed into Jeff and he felt himself hit glass. He also felt the glass give way and he was then falling. "This is it!" He said to himself as the ground below got closer. "Suddenly, he wasn't falling as fast. "Great, now bring him down slowly!" Mike yelled. Taillow slowly flew down with its talons gripping Jeff's shirt. It let him go easily on the ground and Mike and Amanda approached him. "Guess I owe you one!" Jeff replied as Mike helped him to his feet. "We're even buddy!" Mike grinned.

Bonnie looked out over the broken glass. "He didn't go splat!" She roared. "We could've taken his Pokemon when he was dead!" "But we almost killed him!" Clyde said in shock. Suddenly, the familiar sirens of Officer Jenny's police car filled the air. "To the submarine!" Bonnie yelled. The two ran off down the stairs. Mike and co had to run for it. They reached the harbor just as the ferry was ready to depart. With a quick ticket flash, they boarded. Jeff released Nuzleaf as soon as they settled in. "Great job today, you made me proud." He grinned. Nuzleaf smiled back as the ferry pulled out of the harbor…

Hiya Mikey ^^. Nice fic you got here, pretty original >=D. Good job with the underused pokes here, it makes this different from others. The description and battles are also good, and make the fic a bit humorous. That's all. I'll drop in once in a while =P. Tata for now.

Chapter 21: Mastering Brick Break! Combusken's Special Training!

Mike was now aboard the S.S Reno which was making its way to Kington Isle. "Electrike, dodge!" Mike yelled as the Miltank rolled by. "I can never get away from rollouters." He added in. Electrike yelped as Miltank changed direction and smashed into it. "Electrike!" Mike yelled as it was sent flying. "Ha-ha, Miltank finish it off with body slam!" The trainer yelled. Miltank opened up from its roll and leapt into the air. "Electrike, use thunderbolt!" Mike called.

Electrike waited for the right moment, and then the hairs on its back rose up. Sparks began to emanate from its body and a giant bolt of lighting shot from it, striking Miltank hard. Miltank landed hard on the deck of the ship and didn't get up. "Great job!" Mike laughed picking up Electrike. "Wow, awesome!" The trainer replied recalling Miltank. He stepped up to Mike and shook his hand. "The name's Roland." "Mike." Mike replied. "Where you heading Mike?" Roland asked. "I'm heading to Kington Isle to earn my third badge!" He replied. "Well then good luck to yas!" Roland grinned and headed off.

Mike walked towards the edge of the ferry and looked out to sea. There was the Wailord pod, still migrating along the island shores. "I wonder if I'll be seeing them my whole journey." He thought to himself. A Wailord surfaced from the sea and gave a large spout of water before descending. The ferry began to pull into the bay. Amanda and Jeff joined Mike on deck with all their things packed. "Finally, a Gym right after we dock!" Mike laughed. "Yep, the Kington Isle Gym shouldn't be too far." Amanda replied.

They descended the platform and onto the docks. It was nice and breezy here and Mike liked what he was seeing. "Kington Isle is famous for its peacefulness and light breezes." Amanda read. "It's also famous for its protection!" Jeff said pointing to the large wall that spanned the base of the bay. "Only one dock to let visitors in. They placed that wall there 80 years ago when Kington Isle was at war with a neighboring one. It was used as a barrier against cannon attacks." Jeff replied. "I didn't know you knew so much about history!" Mike grinned. "Hey, I'm not all halfwit!" Jeff remarked.

The group walked through the lively streets of Kington Isle. Merchants littered the sidewalks and Jeff found himself growing hungry. As they passed by a burger stand, he began to reach for one. Suddenly, his hand was hitting a wall. "What the heck?" He said pulling back. A small winged Pokemon flew around him. It giggled a bit then flew away. "What the hells is that thing?" Jeff wondered. The fluttering Pokemon landed on the shoulder of a very short woman. "This thing is a Togetic." She grinned. "So you like to steal? There's a place for your type you know." She grinned. "No, I was going to pay for it, honest!" Jeff replied.

Mike and Amanda noticed their missing comrade and turned back. "He's in trouble again!" Amanda sighed. Mike walked up. "Sorry miss for whatever he did." He embarrassedly laughed. "Oh he didn't do anything, but he was planning to." She smiled and winked at Jeff. Togetic fluttered from the woman's shoulder and landed on Mike's. "So what's your name boy?" The woman grinned. "Mike, I'm here for a match with the Kington Isle Gym Leader." He replied. Togetic let off a low laugh and proceeded to flutter around Amanda. "Wow, you must be pretty confident then." She grinned.

"Can we go? I didn't steal and this woman is obviously wasting our time!" Jeff muttered. "You better teach you friend some manners Mr. Mike. He should be respectful to a woman, especially when she's a Gym Leader." She smiled and winked at Jeff again. "What???" Mike said in shock. "Yep, the name's Penny." She smiled again. Mike could tell this woman liked to toy with minds. Her hair was light blue down to her shoulders and her smile was enthralling. "I'm sorry to inform you that I have some errands in town Mike, but we could possibly schedule a match for tomorrow." She then replied. "That would be fine!" Mike nodded. "Well then, meet me at the gym tomorrow at 7 AM sharp." With that, Penny smiled once more and turned to leave. Togetic fluttered away from Amanda and followed.

"What a weird woman!" Jeff roared. "Well, we have a day to kill. What do you say we go to the woods for some training?" Mike grinned. "I kind of want to check around town a bit. I can meet up with you two later." Amanda smiled. "I don't know, you all alone." Mike gave her a look. "Yeah, who knows what kind of sick people are just waiting to taste your soft flesh!" Jeff laughed. "I can handle it." Amanda said. She then turned and walked down the road. "Well Jeff, let's go train!" Mike grinned.

Bonnie and Clyde were at the large fountain in the middle of the city. Lombre and Wooper splashed around whilst Slugma stood at Clyde's feet. "Stupid morons! How are we ever going to lead them to the shrine if we can't get their Pokemon?" Bonnie roared. "We could always take something else of theirs!" Clyde suggested. Bonnie glared at him. "What a stupid idea!" She yelled. Lombre giggled and she turned to it. "Got a problem duck?" She roared. Lombre ducked away. A Pidgey suddenly flew down and landed at Clyde's feet. It carried a small mail bag around its neck. Clyde leaned down and grabbed the letter from it and the bird flew off.

"What's that?" Bonnie asked snatching it away. She opened it up to find a letter from Maxie. "Hey that's mine you witch!" Clyde roared and lunged for it. Bonnie pulled away and he fell into the fountain. Lombre giggled again and Clyde splashed it. Lombre became agitated and splashed back. What followed was a splash fest between both of them. "Calvin, or whatever your name is. Let's just go with grunt." The letter began. "There is another check in point in the Toy warehouse in Kington Isle. Make your way there. Talk to the manager. His name is Mr. Fiddleman. I eagerly await your report." It read. "Let's go!" Bonnie replied snatching Clyde from the fountain. Lombre laughed as he was dragged of. Wooper and it then leapt from the fountain and followed.

Mike and Jeff were now in the woods. "Well, from the looks of things, Penny could either use normal or flying types. I wonder what training I should work on." Mike thought. His Pokemon began to play around the open field. "Well, she did seem to love defense wall attacks." Jeff replied. "Hmm, that may be a problem." Mike muttered. "You know any good strategies against them?" He then asked. Jeff shook his head and Mike began to think.

Meanwhile, Amanda strolled through the town. She was currently at a jewelry parlor. The lady handed her a gold necklace and she tried it on. "How do you like it mam?" She asked. "It's beautiful." She replied. The jeweler smiled. "You have great taste. Say could I ask you a favor?" She asked. Amanda nodded. "I have this egg in the back room. I found it on my way home last night. Seeing as how I don't raise Pokemon, could I get you to take it for me?" She asked. Amanda nodded again. "That would be wonderful!" She remarked.

The jeweler smiled and went into the back room. Seconds later she returned with a navy blue egg with a green top. "What's inside it?" Amanda excitedly asked. "Who knows, but it'll hatch soon!" The jeweler replied. Amanda grabbed the egg in her arms. She cradled it a bit, and then handed it back to the jeweler. "I'll be happy to take it!" She replied. The jeweler smiled and walked around the desk. She helped Amanda place it in her backpack. "Now take good care of it!" She smiled. "I will!" Amanda replied. She then waved and began to run off. "Oh miss, you still have the necklace!" The jeweler called out. Amanda pulled it from her neck and tossed it back as she kept running.

After a half hour Mike finally spoke. "Well, I guess I'll train with Electrike, seeing as how its electricity could come in handy." Mike said. "Yeah, or you could teach Combusken brick break." Jeff replied while munching on an apple. "What?" Mike asked. "Brick break, it’s a fighting move that shatters barriers." Jeff replied. "Jeff…I hate you with every bone in my body! Why didn't you say that a half hour ago?" He roared. "I didn't know you wanted my advice." He replied. "I asked for it, didn't I?" Mike eyed him. "Oh yeah, my bad!" Jeff grinned. Mike shook his head and called for Combusken. "Ready to learn a new attack?" Mike asked. Combusken nodded.

"Ok buddy, use brick break!" Mike called out. Combusken squawked and smashed its arms against the tree, but only fell back. "This could be a problem." Mike replied. Electrike happily chased its tail, then noticed Jeff's apple. It wandered slowly up and grabbed it. "Hey, you little thief!" Jeff yelled. He began to chase Electrike around, but couldn't catch up. "I'm going to hurt you!" He yelled. Electrike turned and began to viciously shake the apple. Suddenly, it was lifted into the air. Tangela had it by the vines and began to sway it back and forth. Electrike yelped and dropped the apple. Jeff caught it. "You think I want this now after you slobbered all over it!" he yelled tossing it away. Tangela brought Electrike down and they both laughed.

Combusken leapt at the tree again, but fell back. "Ugh, this isn't working." Mike sighed. Amanda then approached. "Finally, I've been looking all over for you!" She replied. Mike smiled when he saw her, and was suddenly determined to help Combusken. "You know, there's just something about you that makes me know I'll be a champion one day. Never leave me!" Mike grinned. Amanda blushed. "You're doing it again!" Jeff roared. Mike picked a rock up and tossed it, smacking him in the knee. "Ow that hurt you stupid fu…" He replied. "Anyways!" Mike interrupted.

"Combusken, I know you can do it! Don't give up!" Mike yelled. Combusken nodded and smashed into the tree. It broke the bark a little, but fell back after. "Just keep at it pal! Don't stop, don't ever stop till you got it down pat!" Combusken let out a massive roar and smashed into the tree with a might punch. The bark smashed in half and the tree fell. "Awesome job! Now try this!" Mike said tossing a bunch of rocks at them. Combusken smashed the first one, then its arm stopped glowing and it was pummeled by the rocks. "Good try, you're getting the hang of it!" Mike yelled. Combusken grabbed its soar head and stood back up. "One more try!" Mike yelled and tossed some more. Combusken smashed the first two with brick break, then proceeded to double kick the rest. "Nice formation and great switch of attacks! If you master brick break just a bit more, we can easily win!" Mike grinned.

Amanda pulled the egg from her bag and began to cradle it. "Wow, are we having scrambled eggs tonight?" Jeff said hungrily. "No, I'm taking care of this egg!" She roared and pulled it away. "What do you think will hatch from it?" Jeff then replied. "I don't know, but I can't wait to find out!" She grinned…

Chapter 22: Kington Isle Gym! The Great Barrier Fight!

Today was now the day! Mike's anticipation grew as he walked through the streets towards the gym. Amanda cradled her new egg and Jeff lazily followed. "You seem pumped today!" Amanda giggled. "Of course, this is my third gym battle!" Mike smiled back. The three approached the gym, which couldn't even be seen. A large wall made of logs surrounded the whole thing. Kington Isle flags waved at each corner. "The gym was built out of the command center of the Kington army. That's why it's so protected." Jeff informed them. Mike nodded and stepped up to the voice communicator by the door. "Penny, it's Mike, I'm here for my match!" He said into it. They wait for a bit, and then the doors opened. "Come on it, I've been expecting you!" The voice box replied.

Mike and co stepped in as the doors stopped. The gym was a few yards away and the front was surrounded in old army equipment. Penny stepped out of the gym entrance and greeted them. "We preserved everything as you can see." She smiled and put her arm on one of the cannons. "That's cool!" Mike grinned. "Well then Mike, are you ready?" Penny smiled. "Of course!" He replied. "Then let's get to the battle field." She remarked. The group followed her inside the gym. There were countless numbers of rooms and a man in uniform was giving a tour. Penny walked past and led them to the back door. "The gym is in the back." She smiled and pushed it open. Mike was looking at a large battlefield, composed of stationary wooden blockades and such.

"It looks more like a war battlefield then a Pokemon one." Jeff remarked. "Yeah, someone could get hurt here." Amanda said looking at the barb wire that wrapped around the blockades. "Oh, it's safe!" Penny grinned. Togetic raced from inside the gym and stopped hovering at Penny's side. "Let's get this battle started!" Penny yelled and headed to her side of the field. Mike went to his side and the ref entered. He held up his two flags, and pulled a trumpet out. With a small tune from it, the battle had officially begun. "This will be a 3 on 3 match. Mike, the challenger, may switch Pokemon whilst the Gym leader cannot. Let the match begin!" The ref roared.

"Here we go Mike! I choose Clefable!" She threw the Pokeball and Clefable appeared. It stuck its finger to the air, and smiled. "Ok, then I choose Combusken!" Mike threw his Pokeball and Combusken appeared. "He's starting with Combusken? Is that a wise choice?" Amanda asked Jeff. "Yeah, starting strong could work." He replied. "Combusken, let's go, use double kick!" Mike yelled. Combusken nodded and raced towards Clefable. "Use barrier!" Penny commanded. Combusken lifted its foot to kick Clefable, but a strong wall blocked it. "Sorry Mike, but that won't work!" She grinned. "Combusken, you know what to do!" Mike yelled. Combusken made a fist and its arm glowed. As it brought its arm in, the glowing faded and it smashed into the barrier. Combusken pulled its arm away, shaking it.

"It didn't work!" Amanda yelled in shock. "No, Combusken lost it. It didn't perform the attack correctly." Jeff replied. "Ha, your Pokemon can't even get off an attack if it can't shatter my barrier." Penny smiled. "Clefable, use mega punch!" Clefable stopped the barrier and smashed a punch into Combusken. The feat happened so fast that Combusken couldn't react. It flew across the field and hit the ground hard. Clefable smiled and brought back the barrier. "You ok?" Mike yelled to his Pokemon. Combusken got up and made a fist. "We have to break that barrier! Try again Combusken!" Mike yelled.

Bonnie and Clyde were now at the toy factory. Mr. Fiddleman was at his desk busily writing. "You, Mr. Fiddlywhatcha! We are here for our check in!" Clyde said pointing his finger at him. Mr. Fiddleman looked up and pushed the finger away with his pen. "Ahh, Maxie told me you two would be showing up. Please, come with me." He said. The man rose from his desk and walked into the main development room. Bonnie and Clyde wearily followed. Mr. Fiddleman approached a small stuff bunny on a shelf and took it off. With that, a small portion of the wall opened. "Here you are." He grinned. Bonnie thanked him and walked inside.

The room was much like the other room and the two approached the phones. Both were talking to their leaders in minutes. "Sir, we are still on schedule." Bonnie confirmed. "Good!" Archie laughed. Bonnie heard a roar in the background like something was being tortured. "Is everything ok?" She asked. Archie smiled and nodded. Clyde heard the same noise from Maxie, but he didn't ask. "Keep it up! It's always good to hear from you!" Both leaders said. When the two hung up they turned to each other.

"That was too close!" Archie roared to Maxie. "Get to your men; tell them to keep that thing contained!" He then added. Maxie nodded and walked towards his grunts. They were busily throwing ropes at a Pokemon flying above. "Give me that!" Maxie said snatching the rope from the nearest grunt. He swung it around then tossed it up, snagging the Flygon around the neck. He pulled hard and it gave a low roar before crashing to the ground. "That's how you do it. And I expect a lot more Flygon's caught by the end of the week!" He ordered. The grunts nodded and launched the ropes, each snagging the fallen Pokemon. It roared and flapped up, causing a few grunts to fall forward. It squirmed as much as possible, but there were too many ropes around it. After some more pulling, they managed to subdue it.

Combusken struck the barrier hard, but still nothing happened. "Ha, nice try!" Penny laughed. Combusken pulled its arm away again and the wall began to shatter. A small crack formed and went parallel down the wall until the whole thing split in two. Penny stood in shock. "Now Combusken, use double kick!" Mike yelled. Combusken lunged at Clefable and kicked it hard. After two kicks, Clefable flew back. It weakly got back up. "Impressive Mike!" Penny yelled. "Clefable, show them your metronome!" Clefable held its finger up and began to sway it back and forth. After some time, it stopped, but nothing happened. Clefable then fell down and began to splash. "What are the chances of that?" Penny screamed. "Combusken, use flamethrower!" Mike commanded. Combusken released the attack, which struck Clefable. It fell down burnt to a crisp and didn't get back up.

"Round one goes to Mike!" The ref declared. Penny recalled her fallen Pokemon. "You may have won the battle, but you cannot win the war…" She grinned. "I thought you would come up with a fighting type, which is why I have this for just such occasions!" She threw another Pokeball and the Pokemon formed. "Mr. Mime!" It said happily. Mike knew he was in for a challenge. Mr. Mime was a psychic type, which has an advantage over fighting. He thought about recalling Combusken, but then recalled that Mr. Mime is a defense wall user, and he would need brick break more then ever.

"Mr. Mime, start off with reflect!" Penny ordered. Mr. Mime placed its hands up, and a clear gold wall formed. "Is this allowed?" Amanda asked. "Yes, just because she trains normal types doesn't mean she needs all normal." Jeff replied. "Combusken, use brick break!" Mike yelled. Combusken ran at the reflect with arm stretched out. "Psychic!" Penny yelled. Mr. Mime moved a hand and Combusken was lifted from the ground. "Now toss it!" Penny ordered. Mr. Mime whooshed its arm and Combusken was sent flying into a blockade. "Combusken is unable to battle. Round 2 goes to Penny." The ref yelled.

Mike recalled it. "Nice…" He said. He then starred at his Pokeballs for some time. Finally, he took one from his belt. "Go Aron!" He yelled and released the Pokemon. "Nice choice!" Penny yelled. "Ok Aron, it's going to be tough, but we have to break that reflect!" Mike yelled. The blue eyed Pokemon nodded and lunged at the wall. "Take down!" Mike yelled. Aron leapt and smashed into it, but fell back. "Not going to work!" Penny laughed. "Mr. Mime, use fire punch!" Mr. Mime released the reflect and came in. Its hand turned to flames as it struck Aron and sent it sprawling. The reflect then returned in front of it. "This is impossible!" Mike yelled. Aron got up, but it was hurting.

"Aron, try to get around the reflect!" Mike yelled. Aron lunged at the reflect again, and then darted to the side. "Not going to work!" Penny repeated. Mr. Mime moved its arm and the reflect moved to its side. "Use psychic!" She yelled. Mr. Mime lifted Aron up with its mind. "Now toss it!" "No!" Mike yelled as Aron flew across the field and smashed into a blockade. He had to watch the same thing happen to his other Pokemon, and not his chances of winning thinned. "Aron is unable to battle. Round 3 goes to Penny!" The ref yelled. Mike recalled his Pokemon. "This doesn't look good." Amanda remarked holding her egg. Mike pulled a Pokeball from his belt. "You're my only hope now." He whispered and threw the ball. Tangela formed in front. "Wow, this match is over!" Penny yelled. Tangela leapt up and down crying out.

"Tangela, use vine whip!" Mike yelled. Tangela let loose the vines and they struck the reflect, each bouncing off. "This isn't going to work!" Mike yelled. He knew he was going to loose. Tangela began to giggle, and Mike finally saw why. While some of its vines connected with the reflect, two others wrapped around both sides of it and then around Mr. Mime. "What is this?" Penny screamed. 'Pull it forward!" Mike yelled. Tangela did as ordered, and Mr. Mime smashed into its own reflect. As it fell, the reflect shattered. "Awesome!" Jeff yelled leaping up. "Now Tangela, use slam!" Mike yelled. Tangela smashed into Mr. Mime and it was out. "No, impossible!" Penny said in shock. "Round 4 goes to Mike!" The ref yelled. Penny weakly recalled Mr. Mime.

"Don't celebrate just yet. I still have Togetic, and your little Tangela is weak against flyers!" Penny grinned. Togetic giggled and flew into the field. Sweat began to fall from Mike's face. Tangela was not an experienced battler, so he wasn't sure it could win. He knew it just came through for him, but this was impossible. "Light screen!" Penny ordered. Togetic giggled happily and a clear wall formed. "Oh great!" Mike yelled. "Tangela, get it out of there again!" Mike ordered. Tangela tried the same trick, but Togetic was too fast. It dodged the vines no problem and flew back in place. "Togetic, use fly!" Penny yelled. Togetic fly up into the air, and then started to descend toward Tangela.

Mike turned away. He knew there was nothing he could do, and he didn't want to watch. He heard a big slam and knew it was over. When he turned back, Tangela was in the air and Togetic had smashed into the ground! "Tangela used its vines to propel itself away!" Amanda said surprised. Togetic wobbled around dizzy, its light screen was gone. "Tangela, use slam!" Mike yelled. Tangela smashed into it, and Togetic flew. It hit the ground hard, but pumped its wings and was up again. "Togetic, screw the barrier and make this a face to face fight!" Penny yelled as sweat dripped down her face. Mike grinned. He knew she had her scared. Togetic nodded and flew straight at Tangela. "Dodge!" Mike yelled Tangela propelled away with its vines again. Suddenly, Togetic diverted direction and slammed into it. Tangela sprawled across the ground and into a blockade.

The ref began to lift the flag, but Tangela was back on its feet. "You’re the best Tangela!" Mike yelled. "Togetic, get it!" Penny yelled. Togetic raced towards Tangela, but it once again dodged. "Stun spore!" Mike yelled. While airborne, Tangela released the spores, striking Togetic hard. "Now slam!" Mike yelled. Tangela fell down right on top of Togetic. It leapt off and glared at the fallen Pokemon. Togetic tried to get up, but was too exhausted. "I won…I WON!!!" Mike yelled. Tangela jumped up happily and Mike walked up to it. It leapt into his arms and they both jumped. "I can't believe I had 2nd thoughts about you!" He smiled. "Togetic return…" Penny said smiling. She then leapt down to Mike and dug through her pocket, pulling out the Block Badge. "Here's one you truly deserve." She said smiling.

Outside the gym, Mike and co thanked Penny for all her help. With a final wave, they headed off. "Only 5 more badges!" Mike grinned. Amanda and Jeff nodded. "My egg is going to hatch soon!" Amanda then said. Mike looked at her backpack to see it was wriggling inside a bit. "Any day now!" Jeff laughed. "Or we could always have eggs for lunch!" He added in. Amanda shot him a look and they all began to laugh as they headed down the road.

Chapter 23: The Egg Hatches! Mystery of the Missing Oddish!

Mike and friends are now traveling through a thick dark forest on their way to the next gym. "Guys, I'm so tired, can't we just make camp?" Jeff complained. "No, we're making good time. If we keep going, I could be getting my fourth badge by the end of the week." Mike replied. "Ugh, I hate you!" Jeff roared. Amanda felt her backpack move a bit more then usual. "Maybe we should stop for the night. This egg could hatch any minute." Amanda replied. "Well fine!" Mike said smiling. "Oh so you'll stop for her, but for me it's all no Jeff, I want to make good time to the gym, I don't care about you, I only think with my di…" "Shut up Jeff!" Mike interrupted.

The group stopped in a very small clearing surrounded by trees on all sides. Some Pidgeys flew in the canopy above. "It's getting a bit cold outside." Amanda said holding herself. Mike pulled the egg from her backpack. "Got to keep this baby warm." He said. Amanda nodded and grabbed it. She then grabbed the blanket from her back and wrapped herself and it in it. Jeff was already asleep. "Well, time for bed I guess." Mike said. "Yep!" Amanda replied.

Suddenly, Jeff woke up screaming. "Aipoms, Aipoms everywhere!" He yelled. Mike began to shake him. "Jeff, you're having a nightmare!" He yelled. Jeff looked around. "No I wasn't." He replied. "Yes you were, you were screaming about Aipoms." Mike yelled. The two began to bicker when they were interrupted by Amanda. "Guys look!" She screamed. They turned to see her egg was starting to glow.

Amanda watched in aw as the egg took the shape of a Pokemon. "Oddish!" It said happily looking up at her. "Aww, I can't eat a vegetable!" Jeff roared. Amanda shot him a look. She then turned back to it. "Aww, it's an Oddish! How cute!" She said petting it. Mike pulled out his Pokedex. "Oddish; the weed Pokemon. During the daytime, Oddish buries itself in soil to absorb nutrients from the ground using its entire body. The more fertile the soil, the glossier its leaves become." It muttered.

Amanda pulled out her pack and took the Pokeballs from them. She released Ralts, Skitty, and Mudkip to meet their new friend. She then pulled out another Pokeball to catch it when the time was right. Skitty sniffed at it a bit, and then purred. "This is our new friend guys! Say hello!" She smiled. The Pokemon all let out cries. After a bit, the group finally got to sleep. Amanda held Oddish in her arms.

Morning came and Mike was the first to awaken. He stretched and got up. With a break of the back, he headed towards the nearby lake. "Carvanha, how about a morning swim?" He said tossing the ball in the lake. Carvanha surfaced seconds later. It then proceeded to swim around. Mike bent down and began to wash his face. He looked out over the lake and spied an Ursaring on the other side. "Whoa, Ursaring are in this area. That can't be good." He remarked. Carvanha was swimming right to it. "Carvanha come back!" Mike roared. He knew bears love fish, and this Ursaring would be no different.

The bear Pokemon wandered to the edge of the lake and began to swipe at the water. Carvanha swam closer and closer. Ursaring soon noticed it and licked its lips. It pulled back its claw and prepared for a slash. Suddenly, Taillow was pecking away at its head. "Taillow, wing attack!" Mike yelled. The tiny bird pulled back, and then smashed its wing into Ursaring. The bear tried to fight back, but Taillow was way to fast for it. After some time, it gave a large roar and ran off into the woods. "Great job!" Mike yelled as Taillow landed on his shoulder. It smiled and began to peck away.

Carvanha continued to swim around as if nothing happened. Suddenly, Mike heard Amanda scream. He ran back to camp as fast as he could. When he made it back, Jeff was squinting and holding his ears and Amanda was searching the bushes. "Geeze, it was like a siren! I won't hear for a week!" Jeff yelled. "Where could it have gone too?" Amanda said while frantically searching. "What happened?" Mike asked. "Oddish is gone!" She said without turning around. Mike looked around the camp, but she was right. Oddish was no where to be found. "Calm down, we'll find it!" Mike said. "We'll?" Jeff shot him a look while still holding his ears. "Yes, all of us!" Mike replied and gave him a look.

Taillow continued to peck at Mike's head. "Taillow, go find an Oddish!" He informed it. "Taillow smiled, gave him a final peck, and then flew off." "Come on out guys!" Mike then said releasing his Pokemon. Combusken, Electrike, Aron, and Tangela appeared yawning. Electrike ran around as if it was on fire. "Electrike, stop for a second!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon looked up and smiled. "I need you guys to go searching for an Oddish. Here, this is a picture of it." Mike said showing them the Pokedex entree. The Pokemon studied it, and then ran off.

Mike then turned to Jeff. "Yours too!" He replied. "I Know, I know." Jeff said pulling the balls from his belt. "Treecko, Nuzleaf, Poochyena. Go find Radish!" The Pokemon appeared. "That's Oddish!" Amanda said glaring at him. The Pokemon took off into the forest. "I'm sure they'll find it." Mike said. "Sure, that is if a farmer didn't make it his cash crop yet!" Jeff grinned.

Electrike wandered through the forest sniffing the ground. It came upon some grass sticking out of the earth. It began to bark, and soon Oddish surfaced. It smiled and Electrike sniffed it. After some time, it turned and ran off. Oddish then dove back into the ground. Mike looked around the bushes when Electrike approached. "Did you find Oddish buddy?" Mike asked. Electrike nodded and began to run. Mike followed it, but Electrike went no where near the place Oddish was.

After a bit of running, Electrike lead Mike to a clearing and barked ahead. Mike came out thinking Oddish would be there, but there stood Ursaring. "Uhh…" Mike said scared. Electrike barked at it and the bear roared. "That's not an Oddish buddy…" Mike said backing up slowly. The bear began to charge. "Run!" Mike yelled and took off into the forest. He turned back to see Electrike hadn't moved. "Why do you run every second of the day except when it is most needed?" He yelled to it. Ursaring was almost on it, but Electrike let out a thunderbolt. The bear backed off as the attack struck it. With a yelp, it took off into the forest.

<Meanwhile, Bonnie and Clyde watched the Pokemon search from the trees. "So, they are searching for that little baby Oddish now?" Bonnie grinned. "O! I love babies!" Clyde said happily. "Good, then you'll love to go find one!" Bonnie said and shook the branch he was on. "What are you doing?" He yelled. "Someone has to find Oddish and someone has to play lookout. You volunteered for search." She grinned. Clyde tried to decline, but was suddenly falling from the tree. He hit the ground face first. After some time, he stood up and dusted himself off. "But what if I meet those morons' Pokemon? Slugma can't handle them all!" He yelled up. Suddenly, a lure ball smacked him in the face. "Take Lombre if you're so worried!" Bonnie yelled down. "But it hates me!" Clyde replied. "So do I!" Bonnie yelled back. Clyde sighed and headed off into the woods.

None of Mike's Pokemon had any luck finding Oddish. After an hour of searching they were exhausted. He recalled them all to their Pokeballs. Jeff's Pokemon had yet to return. Amanda was also missing. "Dude, if my Pokemon get lost because of a radish incident, I'll have Amanda's head!" Jeff lazily said. Mike rolled his eyes and sat down. "Where the heck could a newborn baby have gone too in one night?" He asked. "Babies R Us? I hear babies love that place!" Jeff replied. "Sure Jeff, because there's one around here…" Mike replied.

Treecko and Poochyena were hot on the trail. Poochyena sniffed the ground and had caught Oddish's scent several minutes ago. They finally found the familiar green leaves sticking from the ground. Treecko nudged Poochyena, signaling for it to stay and it ran into the woods. Poochyena barked back, then sat down and watched the leaves. Amanda was now exhausted, but she still couldn't find her Pokemon. Treecko suddenly leaped from the foliage and began to yell. "What is it?" She asked. The Pokemon pointed towards the direction it came and leapt up and down. "Not now!" Amanda said loudly. Treecko became agitated and grabbed a branch from the tree. It drew a picture of Oddish in the sand and a big arrow. "You found Oddish?" Amanda asked in shock. Treecko rolled its eyes and signaled for her to follow.

Amanda emerged from the woods to see Poochyena sniffing some weeds sticking from the ground. "That isn't Oddish!" Amanda said angrily. Poochyena barked and nudged the leaves. Seconds later Oddish popped out. "It is Oddish!" Amanda grinned. She picked her Pokemon up, but suddenly Clyde was in front of her. "Give me the baby and no one gets hurt." He grinned. Amanda pulled it away. "Not on your life!" She replied. Clyde rolled his eyes. "What is it with you guys and always picking the hard way?" He yelled. With two throws, Slugma and Lombre appeared. Lombre turned to see Clyde behind it, and it immediately squirted water at him.

"Not me idiot, get the girl!" Clyde roared. The Pokemon turned back and Poochyena and Treecko leapt in front of Amanda. "Slugma, use flamethrower!" He yelled. Slugma let the flaming stream loose, but the Pokemon dodged. "Lombre, use fury swipes!" Clyde yelled. The Pokemon laughed and sat down by the tree. It began to sleep. "You stupid Pokemon!" Clyde yelled. Poochyena and Treecko easily smashed Slugma back. Oddish leapt from Amanda's hand. With a swish of its leaves, a cloud of stun spore struck Clyde and Slugma, and they couldn't get up. "Let's go!" Amanda said picking up Oddish. The group headed into the woods. "I…can't…move…go…get…Bonnie…you…stupid…duck!" Clyde muttered. Lombre laughed and released a water gun, dousing Clyde and Slugma. With the pollen off, Clyde got up and began to chase it.

Amanda emerged from the forest with her Oddish in hand. "Jeff, thank you so much! Your Pokemon found Oddish!" She said happily. "Where was it?" Mike asked. "Buried in the ground like the Pokedex said!" Amanda laughed. "All in a day's work!" Jeff grinned. He recalled his Pokemon. "It's morning, and I say we head out!" He then replied. With a quick grab of his pack, Jeff was walking down the road. He seemed please with himself. "It's going to his head." Mike laughed. Amanda and Mike grabbed their backpacks and followed. "Now don't run away from me again!" Amanda said looking at Oddish. The Pokemon smiled and she caught up with Mike.

Bonnie looked down to see Clyde soaking wet. "I hate your duck!" He yelled. "No Oddish?" She yelled down. "No fricking Oddish queen!" He yelled back. "Lombre, do what you want with him!" Bonnie yelled. Clyde turned to see a massive grin on Lombre's face. "Not again!" He yelled as it prepared to douse him.

Chapter 24: Zangoose Vs Seviper! Protect the Garden!

Mike and co were now taking a quiet break in the forest before heading out once again. Amanda sat on a rock with her new Oddish in hand. It leapt up and down smiling as she laughed away. Mike was polishing his Pokeballs with Electrike by his side. "Got to keep your homes in tip top shape!" He said smiling at his Pokemon. Electrike wasn't really paying attention. Instead, it was paying attention to its own tail. "I'm going to the river to freshen up!" Jeff replied. Mike nodded and Jeff walked away. "How long till you think he'll come running back scared?" Mike grinned asking Amanda. "I give it 10 minutes." She replied smiling.

Jeff walked along the path toward the river ahead. There was something about these woods that make him shudder. First off, there were many trails that seemed to be made by something that dragged its belly, and Jeff was hoping it wasn't a crocodile. Secondly, there were claw marks all over the trees and dirt as it a war went on. Putting the thoughts out of his mind, he entered the large meadow. There was the lake in all its glory, and at the lake was a familiar face. "Laura?" Jeff said in shock.

Laura turned and laughed. "Why if it isn't the razor leaf Nuzleaf boy?" She grinned. Her hair was wet and Jeff could tell she had been washing it. An Azumarill swam at her side. "I see your Marill evolved." He replied. "Yep, sure did!" Laura said smiling. She waded to shore and uncuffed her heels as Jeff approached. "So what brings you way out here?" Jeff asked. "Well, you probably will think it's silly, as I'm a girl, but I'm looking for a Seviper."A Seviwhat?" Jeff replied.

Laura fumbled through her pockets and pulled out a magazine clipping. Jeff took a look at it. There was a large black snake with huge fangs. "Wow, you want one of those?" He said in shock. "Yep, and this forest is supposedly full of them, though I have only seen one in the past hour." She replied. "So that's what was making those slithering trails!" Jeff deducted. "And here I thought I would make it to the river and get eaten by a crocodile!" Laura laughed a bit.

Suddenly, a loud bang was heard a few yards away in the forest. Jeff and Laura nodded to each other and raced into the woods. Mike and Amanda also heard the noise. "I bet you 20 bucks Jeff is involved!" Mike laughed. Amanda grinned and they headed off. Electrike noticed it was alone and yelped; chasing after. Laura and Jeff approached the scene to find a long and brightly colored garden leading up to a bright red farmhouse. What was happening in the garden was even more shocking.

There lie a Seviper on the ground. It looked in a lot of pain. A white Pokemon with long claws towered over it. It cried out and slashed at the snake sending it flying. The Seviper hissed in pain and slithered into the forest. Mike and Amanda appeared behind Jeff. "Zangoose; the cat ferret Pokemon. Memories of battling its archrival Seviper are etched into every cell of Zangoose's body. This Pokemon adroitly dodges attacks with incredible agility." Jeff's Pokedex read. "Wow, pretty cool!" Mike grinned.

The Zangoose licked its claw. Mike could see a bite mark on it. It then spied the group and hissed. Jeff and Laura backed away. Suddenly, a cheery old man stepped out of the farmhouse. He spied the group and whistled, causing Zangoose to do a back flip to him. He petted its head and looked up. "Can I help you?" He said happily. "Sorry sir, we were just in the forest when we heard the commotion. We didn't mean to intrude." Laura replied. "No, no. It's no problem at all! I enjoy company! The name's Grant." He yelled back.

Jeff pulled open the fence and stepped into the garden. There were many different types of flowers and a bunch of vegetables. "Ha, so you saw my little Zany here take out those nasty Sevipers?" Grant grinned. "Yeah, it was cool!" Mike replied. Oddish leapt from Amanda's hands and began to sniff the flowers. "That's why I have Zany. We've been together for awhile now. It's hard raising crops in this forest without him." Grant replied as he began to water the flowers. "So Zangoose protects the garden?" Amanda asked. "Why yes missy. It's the perfect Pokemon, seeing as how Zangoose's ultimate goal is to fight with Sevipers. Those things are all over the woods round here." Grant replied happily. He placed some gloves on and began to dig at the soil. "Yeah, that's why I'm here. I plan to catch one!" Laura replied. "Well what would a cute little gal like yourself be wanting one of those devil Pokemon?" Grant said standing up and wiping his head. Mike could tell he didn't like Sevipers too much. "I don't know, just seems like a strong Pokemon I guess." Laura replied. "Strong? Zangoose is much stronger!" Grant grinned and pointed.

The group turned to see Zangoose practicing its attacks on a scarecrow. It slashed at it, then dodged and slashed again. The scarecrow was shredded in seconds. Zangoose then turned back and grinned. "Good job Zany!" Grant called out. "Grant, does Zangoose ever go into the forest to fight Seviper? I see claw marks all over." Jeff asked. "Of course, have to keep them away!" Grant replied smiling. "Why don't we discuss this further over some nice tomato soup?" He then offered. Mike and co nodded and he led them inside.

There were pictures of Grant and Zangoose littering the house. "As you can see, me and Zany are great buddies." He grinned. He then stepped up to the stove and pulled out 5 bowls. Soon everyone had soup in front of them. "Don't you ever feel the slightest remorse for having Zangoose stray into the forest to fight Seviper? I mean, they aren't coming if they are in the forest, and isn’t that against the point?" Mike asked. Grant took a sip of his soup then smiled. "They're Seviper. What does it matter if they are hurt for no reason? Snakes were put on the earth by the devil himself." Grant replied. Mike rolled his eyes. "That's a little mean." Amanda remarked. "Well it be true missy!" Grant smiled. They were obviously getting nowhere with him. Grant just didn't want to listen. To him, snakes were the devil and Zangoose was god.

Meanwhile, Team Steam was wandering through the forest. Bonnie collapsed on the road and Clyde fell after. "So tired, need a rest!" They said in unison. As they lie there, a Seviper inched toward them. Another slithered up the tree and several others surrounded them. "What's that noise?" Clyde asked frightened. "Probably the wind." Bonnie said with her eyes clothes. Clyde looked around and saw a pointed black tail slither into the canopy. "Bonnie, something isn't right…" Clyde whispered. "Yah, you're still talking!" She roared with her eyes still shut. Clyde got up and began to back away. More Seviper were now around them.

Clyde began to scream and Bonnie finally opened her eyes. "What the hell…" She started but stopped. Clyde was nowhere in sight. "Clyde?" She whispered. Suddenly, she turned to see him being pulled up the tree. "What's going on?" She screamed. Clyde was balling his eyes out. "I don't want to die!" He cried. Bonnie lunged and grabbed his hand. She began to pull but the Seviper pulled back. After several tugs, it let go. Clyde toppled onto Bonnie. More Seviper exited the bushes and hissed loudly. One's tail began to glow and Team Steam was instantly on their feet. The Seviper tail struck the ground where they lie a second ago. "Run!" They screamed and took off down the road.

It was now getting late and Mike and co were spending the night at Grant's. "This be the spare bedroom. Hope one of you doesn't mind sleeping on the floor." He laughed. With that he shut the door. "Ugh, he tries to be nice but I just can't get over how he lets Zangoose go looking to hurt Seviper." Mike roared. As he talked, he realized everyone had picked a bed. "Fine, I'll sleep on the floor. Electrike and I don't mind!" Mike yelled. Electrike yelped and leapt onto Amanda's bed. It spun around, and then laid down. "Some friend you are!" Mike sighed. He pulled out his sleeping bag and sprawled it across the floor.

Zangoose was now in the forest. It had taken care of several Seviper already. It spotted another one happily munching on an apple and darted toward it. With a swipe of its claw, Seviper backed away. It hissed and slithered toward Zangoose. Zangoose leapt away from a poison tail and slashed it again. Seviper sprawled across the ground and hit a tree. It didn't get up. Zangoose grinned. Bonnie and Clyde were now on top of a giant boulder. "What are we going to do? Those things are after us!" Bonnie was going insane. Clyde searched his pack. "We still have some smoke bombs left. We could drive them away from here!" He replied. Bonnie immediately grabbed one and chucked it into the forest. Smoke filled the air.

Mike awoke after hearing the bang. He looked out the window to see Zangoose in the garden licking its paw. He knew it went out tonight, and it made him mad. He then noticed the smoke coming from the woods. "It's a forest fire!" he yelled. The group woke u instantly. "What?" They yelled. Grant opened the door with a candle in hand. "Everybody up!" He yelled. He then pointed to the edge of the trees where 10 Seviper's were emerging. "That smoke will cause the Seviper's to come this way. We have to protect the garden!" He yelled.

Zangoose stared blatantly at the emerging Pokemon. It could take on one or two, but not ten. The snakes hissed as the emerged, each noticing the garden. With no smoke there, they headed toward it. Grant and the kids exited the house and stepped into the garden. "Here they come!" He yelled. Mike watched in horror as the man pulled a shotgun from the storage room. "No!" Mike yelled and tackled him. "What are you doing?" Jeff yelled pulling him away. "He's going to shoot them just to protect the garden? Doesn't anyone get it?" Mike yelled kicking. "No he isn't!" Jeff sighed. "It's what has to be done!" Grant said. Anger was apparent on his face, and Mike knew he wasn't the same as in the morning.

"Ok, maybe he is." Jeff said in shock. The Seviper's continued on their path. Grant began to aim. "We can't let him do this!" Mike yelled. Grant then turned the gun on them. "Step back!" This is my garden and I will defend it from these devils. You can live with it or die!" He yelled. Mike backed away with the others. "Living in a forest for 60 years with only a Zangoose as your friend does stuff to you boy. Don't think I will hesitate to shoot you!" Grant then added in. Mike could see the craziness in his eyes. Grant then turned and aimed at the Sevipers again. They were now entering the garden.

Electrike saw Mike's eyes. It saw the horror he was in, and it wanted to do something. With a sudden leap, Grant was down and the gun hit the floor. A shot ran out into the forest. Electrike was tugging at his pant leg. Zangoose watched on, but it didn't move. It somehow knew that its master was wrong. It stepped away and into the shadows. Electrike continued to growl while shaking Grant's leg. Grant made a grab for the gun, but Mike's foot held it down. "Fraid not!" He said smiling. "The Seviper aren't the devils, you are!" Laura roared.

The Sevipers entered the garden and began to eat. "My crops!" Grant yelled. Mike and co stepped back as more invaded. Zangoose was nowhere to be found. After some time, the sun began to rise over the mountains. The smoke dispersed and the Seviper began retreating. Mike picked the gun up and with a steady kick from Combusken, it broke in two. He thanked Electrike for what it did. Laura then stepped up. "I still have to get me one of them!" She yelled releasing Azumarill. A lone Seviper was eating the last of the crops. "Use water gun!" She yelled. Azumarill launched the attack, and it slammed into Seviper.

Seviper hissed and lunged at Azumarill for a poison tail. Azumarill dodged. "Iron tail!" Laura yelled. Azumarill wound up its tail, but was struck by Seviper. It went down and the snake began to wrap around it. "Azumarill, break free!" Laura yelled. The snake had a tight hold on it, and it prepared to use poison fang. "Nuzleaf, use razor leaf!" Jeff yelled releasing his Pokemon. Nuzleaf let out the barrage of leaves, stopping Seviper and letting Azumarill escape. "Thanks, I owe you one!" Laura grinned. "Iron tail!" Laura commanded. Azumarill spun its tail and slammed it into Seviper. The snake went down hard. "Pokeball go!" She yelled. The ball hit it and soon Seviper was caught. "I did it!" Laura yelled in triumph.

The group had left Grant in his destroyed garden. Oddish had put him asleep. "Maybe when he wakes up he'll be a bit nicer!" Amanda yelled back as they headed off from the house. "Why do the strangest things happen to us in forests?" Jeff asked. They then came to a cross section with a hill to one side. Mike looked up to see Zangoose at the top peering down at them. He nodded and it nodded back. Mike then turned to the others and then back, but Zangoose was gone. With some goodbyes, Laura took off down the path and Mike and co headed down the other.

Team Steam still sat on the rock. "You think it's safe yet?" Clyde asked. "Yes, let's go!" Bonnie replied. The two stepped off the rock, only to find a horde of Sevipers heading toward them. The two screamed and ran off down the road.

Good filler chapter. The battle between Azurill and Sevipe was good, and it was original. The next chapter should be good based on the name of it.

Chapter 25: The House of Hypnotism! Catch the Shiny Drowzee!

Once again Mike and co are heading along a narrow passage towards the next badge. As they head along, it becomes apparent that the weather is taking a turn for the worst. "Looks like rain!" Mike yelled back. It was now very windy and Jeff and Amanda lagged a bit behind. Amanda cradled Oddish in her arms. The baby shivered slightly. "We better find a place to stop!" Mike then called back. "Or we could jump off the cliff and end it all now!" Jeff called back. Mike ignored him and pressed on.

Team Steam were not faring any better. After just escaping a horde of Seviper, they were now even more tired. Clyde looked into the valley below as they ascended the mountain path. The wind brushed against the grass, creating ripples as it went. Some of the trees looked like they would break away from the ground at any second. As he surveyed the scene, he then saw what looked like a mansion just down in the valley behind a large clump of trees. "Bonnie look!" He said pointing. Bonnie could barely hear over the wind, but his pointing was unmistakable. "We should wait the storm out there. Maybe someone will be kind enough to give hospitality!" He yelled. "O yes, like people are just so willing to help thieves out!" She roared back. Clyde ignored her and began to head down the valley. Bonnie angrily followed.

Mike and co were now being tormented by the raging winds. The mountain path kept getting narrower. "Maybe we should turn back!" Amanda yelled up to Mike. "What good will that do?" He replied. Amanda guessed he was right, but the raging winds told her otherwise. Suddenly, a huge gust billowed against the mountainside. Mike gripped a nearby branch as it smashed against him. Jeff fell forward and grabbed Mike's backpack. Amanda however, was blown back. She tried to grab Jeff's leg, but Oddish was her main priority. Mike watched in horror as she slipped from the path and fell tumbling into the valley below…

Clyde had been knocking on the mansion door for several minutes. He still did not receive a single signal that someone was home. "Well let's go inside anyways; this wind will kill us if we don't!" Bonnie replied. Clyde turned the knob and the door creaked open. "Needs to be oiled." He said as he stepped inside. Just as they entered, Bonnie could hear the patter of rain on the room. "Perfect timing!" She grinned. The two of them now stood in a large lobby adorned in red draperies and rugs. "Doesn't look like anyone's been here for awhile." Clyde said as he began to walk. The floor creaked with each step.

Bonnie followed her companion while looking around. This place gave her the creeps. Clyde walked to a door which he guess lead to the kitchen. He checked the knob, but it wouldn't open. "Bonnie, check upstairs. I'll check down!" He yelled. Bonnie nervously nodded. The stairs separated into two paths after only 10 steps, and Bonnie wondered why. She choose the left path and when she reached the top, she realized it led to the same place. A bridge connected each end of the upstairs, and there were two visible doors. Bonnie picked the closest one and walked inside.

Clyde was now walking down the basement stairs. It was very dark and hard to see. As he reached the bottom, it became somewhat brighter. He quickly found the light switch and flicked it, but nothing happened. There was a sudden noise coming from the stairs that he had just come from. Clyde backed away not taking his eyes off of it. He bumped into something cold and turned to see a mirror. He then realized where he was. The whole basement was a maze of them. Clyde was in a funhouse…

Amanda hit the ground hard, but only had minor bruises. She picked herself up and brushed off. Oddish was crying in her hands. "Shh, it's ok!" She assured it. Rain began to fall on her cheeks. "Amanda are you all right?" She heard Mike yell. "I'm fine!" She then saw him come into view. He was sliding down the slope with Jeff clinging to his backpack. They hit the ground and tumbled in the same fashion she did. "Let's do it again!" Jeff yelled. Mike got up holding his head. "Not a good idea." He muttered. The rain was now really coming down. "Well, now that we're in this valley, we better find a safe spot to wait this out." Mike remarked.

The group pushed a bunch of bushes aside and began to wander aimlessly through the foliage. They soon came upon the mansion. "Wow, it's huge!" Amanda said looking up. Mist surrounded it but Mike could clearly make out the gargoyles on the balcony. "Might as well see if anyone's home." He yelled and walked up to the door. To his surprise, it was already opened. "Dude, they are just asking to be robbed." Jeff remarked. The group walked inside to find the same lobby Team Steam stood in several minutes before. They ventured in a bit more and Jeff inspected a nearby drawer. It was covered in cobwebs. "No one lives here. They would surely clean the lobby if they did." Amanda remarked. Mike looked up at the ceiling. A Large chandelier hung from it.

Bonnie walked for some time through the dark narrow hallway. "Whoever built this place really wanted to make it creepy!" She yelled to no one. As she rounded a corner, another long hall presented itself. "Great, more walking!" She said stepping forward. She then noticed two beings up ahead. Both were the same. They had long noses and hoofed feet. Their tops were yellow and the bottom was brown. They were Drowzees! The two Pokemon turned and let out low wails. "Sorry, didn't mean to intrude!" Bonnie said nervously. She turned to go the other way, but another one stood behind her. This one looked different however. Its top part was more of a burgundy color instead of the yellow seen on the other two. It also had a slight sparkle to it.

The Pokemon flopped its nose and began to sniff at her. Bonnie nervously backed away and the Pokemon let out a low wail. It then raised its farms and began to flail them. Its fingers twitched around and tiny rings emitted from it. "Dddddoooowwwzzzzeeeee…" It chanted in a hypnotic voice. Bonnie let out a tiny scream before she found herself collapsing asleep on the ground.

Mike and co heard it, but only faintly. "Someone screamed…" Mike said looking upstairs. "We better get out of here!" Amanda said backing away. The doors suddenly slammed shut and the curtains closed. Mike and co watched as a Pokemon descended the stairs. There was the shiny Drowzee. It sparkled a bit as it descended. It wasn't even touching the ground. It hovered to the bottom of the stairs. The other two Drowzees followed. "They're Drowzee's!" Mike gasped. The Pokemon began to flail their arms and Jeff was instantly moving. With a burst of speed he rammed into them, stopping their hypnotic waves. "Go!" He screamed. Mike and Amanda shot off. Mike grabbed the nearest door handle, but it wouldn't budge.

He turned back to see the different colored Drowzee lift its finger, and Jeff was rising. "Combusken!" Mike yelled releasing the Pokemon. "Brick break!" Combusken appeared and sent its fist smashing into the door. It cracked in half and opened up. Amanda rushed inside and Mike turned back to Jeff. He was now at the ceiling, being lifted by the psychic Pokemon. "Go!" He screamed. The other two Drowzees began to walk forward. Mike recalled Combusken and ducked into the room.

Jeff was now pinned against the ceiling. The shiny Drowzee then began to flail its arms. Slowly Jeff returned to the floor, but he was asleep by the time he made it. Mike and Amanda were now in the dining room. "Why are they attacking us?" Amanda asked. "I don't know, but we do know they are following us. I think we stand a better chance if we split up!" Mike replied. Amanda nodded and rocked Oddish. She ran to the left door and Mike went to the right. "Good luck!" Mike yelled as she disappeared.

Amanda found herself in a long corridor complete with china cabinets and a moose head plaque on the wall. She wandered down it and made it to the door on the other end. Oddish was shaking like a leaf in her arms. "It's ok…Don't be scared." She assured it. She pulled the handle of the door and rushed inside. She now found herself in what looked like an armory. Knight armor manikins were on each side. She slowly moved forward, when suddenly, one of the knights inched forward. Amanda looked up to see the shiny Drowzee. It hovered above her for some time, and then flailed its arms causing the knights to speed toward her. Amanda rolled to the side and the knights smashed into each other. She ran to the other door and leapt inside, closing it behind her. She leaned up against it and sulked to the ground. There she cradled herself and began to cry. "What do they want?" She asked herself. The lights then went on in the room she was in, and the other two Drowzees stood in front of her. They began to flail their arms, and Amanda went black…

Mike had found a stairway that lead to the basement. He walked down it and found himself in a funhouse. The mirrors turned him into weird shapes as he walked down it. He then heard something from behind one. Mike pushed it aside to find Clyde hiding. "Don't kill me!" He screamed as Mike pushed it aside. "Clyde?" Mike said in shock. "Moron?" Clyde replied equally shocked. "What are you doing down here?" Mike asked. "I dove behind here when those things entered. I don't think they saw me." Clyde replied. "Well then, Bonnie must be here too, where's she?" Mike asked. Clyde wondered why Mike didn't just kill him now for all the trouble he'd caused them. "She went upstairs…" He weakly replied. "That's who was screaming…" Mike said to himself. "I believe the Drowzee's got her too." Mike finally replied.

Clyde began to exit his hiding spot. "Why are you still here?" He asked Mike. "When we entered, the Drowzees shut all the doors. I don't think they like intruders." He informed him. "Plus, I'm not leaving without my friends. Clyde nodded. Suddenly, the two Drowzees appeared on both sides of them. "How did they get in without us knowing?" Mike asked in shock. Clyde backed away. "Don't let them get me!" He yelled and made a run for the stairs. The Drowzees blocked his escape and began to flail their arms. Mike took off in the opposite direction.

After running for some time, Mike slowed. He was now completely alone. He continued through the funhouse. Clown dolls littered the shelves above and Mike already didn't like this place. He then spied a small nook he hadn't noticed before. Above it was a picture. Mike pulled it off the shelf. It seemed rather recent, maybe only a year old. A man dressed in a ringleader outfit stood with the shiny Drowzee next to him. Mike realized it must have had an owner. He then inspected the nook and found a handle. He nudged it, and a door swung open.

Inside was a large room. Mike walked in to find all his friends and Team Steam lying sound asleep on the floor. The shiny Drowzee stood above them. Mike walked up and it turned. It had an angry expression on its face. The two normal Drowzees suddenly appeared above it. "What's going on here?" Mike yelled. The two Drowzees hovered down. One put its arm on Clyde and the other on Bonnie. They then began to speak through them.

"We are the Drowzee brothers that have lived in this house for centuries." They started. "Centuries, that means you must be dead!" Mike yelled. The two Drowzees nodded. "Correct, though we are dead, we remain here to protect the mansion." One spoke. "Yes, it was our master's last wish." The other replied. "Then what's with the other Drowzee?" Mike asked. "A year ago, this Drowzee and an injured man appeared here. He had been hurt in a rock slide in the mountain above. After making it here, he sadly passed on. His Drowzee remained however, and we have been controlling it to help with our bidding." The two replied. "That's terrible! My friends and I meant no harm here, and yet you have scared us to death today. And that Drowzee hasn't had an actual life in a year thanks to you two!" Mike roared.

The two Drowzees stared at each other. "That is enough, no humans are permitted here!" They spoke in unison. With that, the shiny Drowzee lunged at Mike. "Go Taillow!" Mike said releasing the Pokemon. "Taillow, use wing attack!" Mike ordered. Taillow flew at the shiny Drowzee and smashed against it, blowing it back. It hovered back up and came at Taillow. With lightning fast reflexes, it pulled back its arm and then brought it back, smashing into Taillow. The bird flew back and hit the ground. "Taillow, use double team!" Mike yelled. Many Taillow suddenly appeared and the shiny Drowzee looked confused. "Now use quick attack!" Mike yelled. Taillow formed and sped at Drowzee, smashing it across the face. Its eyes suddenly went from a blood red to their normal white. Taillow had broken the trance. Mike leapt up and grabbed the Drowzee, as Taillow pecked away at everyone's heads. They slowly woke up and got to their feet. "Let's go!" Mike yelled and everyone followed without hesitation. "Aron, Combusken, I choose you!" Mike yelled releasing the Pokemon. The two Drowzees used their minds to shut the door, but Mike's Pokemon blasted through it. As fast at everyone could go, they ran up the stairs and into the lobby. Combusken and Aron smashed the door open and everyone exited.

The two Drowzees appeared at the edge of the door, but didn't leave. "We are bound to this house…" They whispered and disappeared. Mike set the shiny Drowzee down and breathed heavily. "Thanks Mike." Amanda replied. "I could've done it myself!" Jeff added in. Bonnie and Clyde leapt up. "Since you got us out of there, we think we'll let you go just this once!" They said and took off into the forest. "You're free now!" Mike said petting Drowzee's head. He then stood up and headed off.

Mike and co traveled down the road for some time, and it finally opened up into a city. "Look!" Amanda said turning back. Mike turned to see the shiny Drowzee had been following them. It let out a low wail and walked up to Mike. "You want to come along with me?" Mike grinned. The Drowzee nodded. "But Mike, you have six Pokemon." Amanda remarked. Mike nodded and tossed a Pokeball at Drowzee. It easily went inside and stayed. "Drowzee's going to mom! Whenever I need it, I'll switch!" Mike said. He picked the Pokeball up. "Have fun with mom, see you in a bit!" He said as the ball suddenly disappeared from his hands.

Mike and co stopped in at the nearby Pokecenter. Mike phoned his mom as soon as he entered. "Mom, did you get my Drowzee?" Mike asked. She smiled and moved a bit to the side. Mike's new Drowzee stood there. "Yep, it's quite friendly!" She smiled. Mike grinned back. "Don't worry buddy, I'll make sure you get battle time!" Mike laughed. Drowzee nodded and began to eat the food Mike's mom had supplied it. "Just tell me when and you'll have it ASAP." She smiled. Mike then hung up…

Really good chapter. Mike got a shiny Drowzee, very cool. I hope he uses it a lot and evolves it... a shiny Hypno would be cool (even though it may not have to best color lol).

Thanks TRL! It's nice to see new readers!

Chapter 26: Carvanha Vs Seaking! Lake of Battle!

Mike and co are now in the harbor of Cintrite City. They are currently in the Pokemon Center after a grueling ordeal involving Drowzee. "Your Pokemon are all healed!" Nurse Joy said smiling. "Thanks a lot!" Mike replied taking the Pokeballs from the ball holder. Amanda was busily feeding Oddish while Jeff lie sprawled across a bench. "Well now, how long till the ferry leaves?" Mike asked Amanda stepping up. "It's not leaving till later tonight." She replied. "But it'll take us right to Noman Isle. That's where the fourth gym is." She then smiled. "And just north of there is Bolvon City, where the next contest hall is." "Ahh, going to try again?" Mike grinned. Amanda nodded.

"Did you say Noman Isle?" Jeff suddenly said sitting up. Amanda nodded. "Why?" She asked. Jeff shot them a look. "No ferry can take you there." He suddenly spoke up. Mike cocked his head. "Why not?" He asked. "Because, ever wonder why it's called "No Man" isle? It’s because it's the hardest island of the archipelago to reach! Sharp rocks litter its shoreline. Only way there is by air." Jeff explained. "Great, so now we have to find a plane!" Mike sighed.

The group left the center a bit disappointed. "Well there has to be an airport here somewhere, how else do trainers get there to earn their badge?" Mike said as they walked down the road. Amanda spied a park just ahead. There, countless number of people were relaxing. "Let's go ask them. One of them must know where an airport is." She said. The group nodded and headed toward it.

Bonnie and Clyde has secretly followed the kids into the city. "One day has past, our truce is over." Bonnie grinned. "Yeah, but does it matter? We never succeed anyways." Clyde remarked. Bonnie shot him a look and turned back. "They're probably heading for Noman Isle. That moron seems to like to earn badges, and that’s the closest one." She replied. "But Bonnie, we need wings to get there!" Clyde moaned. "Hmm, could be a problem. I'm a sea expert, you're a land. We have no sky." She remarked.

At this, a Pidgey messenger landed on Clyde's shoulder. It handed him another letter then flew off. Like normal, Bonnie snatched the letter away. "Well now grunt. I think you're wondering how to make it to Noman Isle. We have two special Pokemon waiting for you. Make your way to the Rapidash stables. There you will find salvation." The letter read. "What is it with your boss and sending letters at the right moments?" Bonnie snapped. Clyde shrugged and they headed off.

Mike and co were now in the park. "Well, do your thing!" Jeff smirked looking at Amanda. "I will, but who should we ask?" Amanda asked. "Any looser here will do!" Jeff yelled back. Amanda shrugged and began to look around. Mike spied a nice quiet lake and decided to let Carvanha have a swim. He approached it and threw the Pokeball. Carvanha emerged and began to swim. Other trainers had their water Pokemon in the lake, but they stayed clear of Mike's threatening Pokemon. "That's a cool Carvanha you got there!" One trainer remarked. Mike smiled.

"Looks weak to me!" A young trainer said. A hat was sprawled over her face, covering her from Mike's view. "And you are?" Mike said pulling the hat from her face. "The name's Katrina. And I believe your Carvanha is a wimp." She grinned. "Well then Miss Katrina, what gives you that assumption?" Mike smiled. "Because my Seaking is the best water Pokemon in this park!" She grinned pointing to her prized Pokemon. Mike shot a look at it. He had to admit it was impressive. The fish was huge, and the horn on its head looked freshly polished. "Well, I would prove you wrong, but I have a plane to catch." Mike grinned back. "Pity…You can't catch a plane in this city without me." She smiled. Mike was confused.

"I run the airport here, only pilot in the whole city." She grinned. "Mike, a trainer tells me the airport is just some ways away!" Amanda said running up. "Yeah, I figured it out." Mike said turning back. He then turned back to Katrina. "Well then, we'd like a flight." He smiled cocking his head. "I'll take you where you want to go; but first, you have to prove me wrong." She smiled. "I think Mike found the pilot." Jeff said approaching. "You think?" Amanda said back. Jeff stuck his tongue out. "A one on one match, your Carvanha vs. my Seaking." Katrina remarked. Mike tossed her hat into the river. "Fine, but if I win, the plane ride is free." He smiled. "And if I win, I get your vest!" Katrina smiled. "Uhh…ok." Mike said in shock. "Oh someone's coming on to someone!" Jeff smirked.

Bonnie and Clyde secretly entered the stables at the edge of town. A small man was chopping wood outside and Clyde grabbed an apple. He began to chew on it, acting natural. Bonnie exited the stable and grabbed him. He was lurched inside. There were several Rapidash's inside. The nearest one reared up in alarm at them. Bonnie backed away and bumped into a very brad woman. She turned and looked into the woman's face. "You Bonnie?" The woman asked. Bonnie awkwardly nodded and the woman motioned for them to follow.

She led them down the stables to two metal cages. What was inside couldn’t be seen. 'We've had some problems with these. They are by no means tame. I have no idea why your boss sent them here. They're vicious, rabid." The woman remarked as Bonnie and Clyde stared in awe. The cages were being rocked and loud roars came from them. "Good luck getting to Noman Isle on them. I'd rather risk a ferry ride." The woman frowned and unlocked the cage. It was instantly pushed open and there stood two Flygons. The nearest one roared and stepped out. "Something doesn't look right." Bonnie said backing away.

The Flygon's hands had long claws that protruded from their stubby fingers. Bonnie looked into the nearest one's eyes. Nothing but anger swelled in them. "Flygon's are usually courageous and honorable Pokemon, but your boss has turned them into monsters." The woman remarked. "How does Maxie expect us to ride these?" Clyde asked. The Flygons roared again and looked at the two. The larger one nodded to the other and it slowly approached Bonnie. Sweat began to fall from her face. She had seen Flygon's before, but this one looked like all it wanted to do was tear her up. The Flygon roared and pulled its head back. It then swept itself under her and Bonnie felt herself being lifted up as the monster flapped its large wings. The other did the same for Clyde and the two took off. The woman ran to open the stable doors, but the Flygons wouldn't wait. They crashed through and took off; Clyde and Bonnie screaming the whole way.

The water Pokemon were cleared from the lake and Katrina went to the north side. Seaking floated to her. Mike went to the south end, but Carvanha didn't seem interested. "Carvanha, we're having a match!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon surfaced and glared at Seaking. It saw it as an acceptable opponent and took its side of the field. "Ladies first!" Mike grinned. "Then go!" Katrina laughed and yelled back. Mike's face darkened. "You had your chance!" Mike yelled back. "Carvanha, use water gun!"

The Pokemon pulled back then released the spurt of water toward Seaking. "Seaking, agility!" Katrina roared. The Pokemon swiftly got to the side and swam like a torpedo down the lake. "Now use horn attack!" Katrina yelled. "Carvanha, dodge!" Mike replied. Carvanha moved, but Seaking was fast. It diverted direction and smashed into Carvanha with its brad horn, blowing it back. "Carvanha, use rage!" Mike yelled. Carvanha glared at Seaking and dove under the water. It rose under it, smashing it up. "What?" Katrina said in shock. "That horn attack boosted the strength of Carvanha's rage. Attacking it will only fuel it more." Mike smiled.

Suddenly, a large amount of screaming was heard. The people in the park looked up to see the two Flygon's roar by in a flash. "Was that Team Steam?" Mike said as they disappeared over the city. "Wow, some lucky trainers. Riding on a Flygon's back has always been a dream of mine!" Katrina yelled. "But now my dream is to beat this Carvanha. Seaking, use flail!" Seaking began to flop in the water. Carvanha dodged, but the attack was unavoidable. It fell back. "Looks like I have a way to counter rage. While attacking Carvanha strengthens it, attacking Seaking strengthens flail!" Katrina grinned. "Carvanha, use taunt!" Mike yelled. Carvanha rose from the water and shook its tail. Seaking became angry. "Seaking use rain dance!" Katrina yelled. The Pokemon didn't listen and headed straight for Carvanha. "What's this?" Katrina asked. "Taunt makes it so your Seaking only wants to attack. It won't do anything else." Mike replied grinning. Seaking slammed into Carvanha blowing it back.

Several bruises appeared on Seaking. "Taunt also makes it strike Carvanha directly, which makes your Pokemon a prime target for Carvanha's rough skin. Every time Seaking attacks, it is hurt by it." Mike smiled. "Wow, looks like I didn't know what I was getting myself into." Katrina said grinning. Mike could tell he was being toyed with. "Seaking, use waterfall!" Katrina yelled. "Don't try to fool me Mike; taunt just makes it so I have to attack Carvanha. It doesn't say anything about attacking directly." Mike shot a look. "It was worth a try." Mike grinned. The water in the lake began to surge towards Seaking. Seaking then rose from the water as the water itself began to rise. It then fell back down as he water returned, creating a wave that blowed Carvanha back.

"Carvanha are you ok?" Mike yelled. His Pokemon was shaken, but it wasn't out. "Carvanha, use water pulse!" "Supersonic!" Katrina countered. Carvanha launched the water. Purple rings formed around it. Seaking screeched out as the attack hit it. Its eyes turned red. "Ha-ha lets see if Seaking can attack when it's confused!" Mike grinned. Katrina didn't flinch. She just smiled gracefully at Carvanha. Mike then realized why. "What do you think that loud screech was that Seaking let out? Oh you thought it was in pain? How silly!" Katrina remarked. Both fish were now confused.

"Seaking, use horn attack!" "Carvanha, use crunch!" Both Pokemon lunged, but missed each other by a long shot. They smashed into the sides of the lake. Carvanha began to viciously bite at some cat tails whilst Seaking horn attacked a rock. "Carvanha, snap out of it!" Mike yelled. Seaking was blown back by the rock and it snapped out of its confusion. "Seaking, horn attack!" Katrina yelled. Seaking sped towards Carvanha. "Carvanha, dodge!" Mike yelled as loud as he could. Seaking smashed into the reeds and both Pokemon disappeared.

"They dove!" Katrina yelled. Suddenly, Carvanha emerged from the water. Seaking followed up slowly. Carvanha had a strong bite on Seaking's horn. "Ha!" Mike laughed. "Shake it off Seaking!" Katrina yelled. The Pokemon shook, but Carvanha wouldn't let go. "Carvanha, use water pulse!" Carvanha let the water go and it flew off the horn, but the attack struck Seaking dead on. "Now crunch!" Mike yelled. Carvanha landed in the water and sped toward the dazed Seaking. It slammed into it with its mouth, blowing Seaking back. It sunk under the water. "Oh no!" Katrina said in shock. Her Seaking surfaced belly up.

"So how 'bout that free plane ride?" Mike grinned. Katrina recalled her Pokemon. "You win." She smiled back. "Ha, Seaking sucks!" Jeff yelled. Katrina eyed him and leapt down, smacking him across the face. Jeff toppled into the lake with a huge splash. "While you're in there, could you get my hat?" Katrina smiled. Jeff pulled a chunk of algae of his head and snatched the hat up. Amanda laughed.

Bonnie and Clyde were flung onto the island cove by the Flygons. They gave the two an angry look before bellowing and flying off. "I don't know what your boss did to those Pokemon, but they aren't normal Flygon's anymore." Bonnie said brushing herself off. "I know." Clyde replied. "Well, what now?" Bonnie looked at the city just ahead. "We go there, get something to eat, and wait for the morons to show…" She replied and the two walked off into the city.

The Flygon's had made it back to base in dual time. The roof opened and the Pokemon landed. Maxie stepped up. Archie was at his side. "They are almost done. My men are out catching more as we speak. They will be ready when the time comes." He said petting the head of one. It bellowed and leapt back. Maxie turned to two of his grunts. "Return them to the training grounds. We are on a schedule!" He roared. The grunts nodded and threw ropes over the Pokemon's necks. They then headed off. Maxie turned to Archie and grinned. "The time is coming…" he said with a smile…

That was a lot of good chapters. That guy from the Zangoose chapter is a nut case saying snakes are from the devil. I think hes been hit in the head to many times. A shiny Drozee is really cool, dont see to many shinys or Drozees in fics! It was cool and Mike is lucky, it seems like a strong pokemon. Carvahna did a grat job in battle, that was a tough Seaking to beat, I am glad it won it will be a very tough bettler and will be easyier to control and now has more respect for Mike probably. The next chapter seems like it will be good with Drozee! Keep it up!

Thanks guys! Here's the long awaited 4th Gym battle!

Chapter 27: Noman Isle Gym! Drowzee's First Battle!

The plane soared high over the raging seas below. "You picked a great time to fly us over there missy!" Jeff said sarcastically. Katrina shot him a look while changing direction in the plane. "Well if little Mr. I want my badge would of waited we wouldn't be out in this storm!" She yelled back. Mike looked up and folded his arms. He then continued to admire his badges. Amanda was resting against the side of the ship with Oddish asleep in her arms. As for Jeff, he was standing in the middle complaining about everything. "Isn't there an in flight movie or something?" He yelled. Katrina pulled an empty Pokeball from her belt and chucked it at his face. "Entertain yourself!" She yelled.

The waves were getting choppier and Mike could make out Noman Isle in the distance. He looked out the window and could scarcely make out the image of a Wailord rising from the water, then sinking. "So they are still on my trail." He grinned to himself. He turned back towards the islands. Jeff was right. Jagged rocks surrounded the bay. Some stuck up so high that they had become nesting sights for Wingulls.

"I'm going to try and land her at the airport, this could get bumpy!" Katrina yelled back. Amanda fumbled with her belt and fastened it on. Mike pulled his across his waist and strapped himself in. "Aren't you going to strap in?" Katrina said smiling at Jeff. "Nah, I'll be fine!" He smiled back. "Ok!" Katrina said and turned around. A slight grin came over her face. It was raining hard, but Mike could see that they were now over the city. The jagged rocks were no longer in sight. He then saw the giant airstrip that they were to land on. "There are no signalers. Guess they didn't want to wait out in the rain!" Katrina yelled.

"So we turning back?" Amanda asked. "Nah, I can land it!" Katrina replied. Amanda slumped in her seat and tightened her grip on Oddish. Katrina began to lower the small plane. "Hold on to you butts!" She said smiling. The plane it the ground hard, causing Mike to fall back in his chair. Amanda let out a slight scream. Mike turned to see Jeff had fallen back and landed upside down by her legs. "Told you to strap yourself in!" Katrina called back. "Shove it!" Jeff replied. The plane continued down the runway and gradually slowed. It came to a stop with a sudden jerk, and Jeff was thrown forward towards Katrina. "Miss me?" He grinned. She shoved her hand in his face, and then unstrapped herself. "We're here!" She said with an embarrassed grin.

Mike and co stepped out of the plane. "Oh, so now it decides to stop raining!" Jeff called out as the rain began to stop. "The storm seems to be over." Katrina replied. "You think?" Jeff said looking back. "Thanks for the ride Katrina." Mike said stepping out. She nodded. "Well, I'm of no more use. I guess I'll just fuel back up and head off. Great battle we had, and good luck at the gym!" She said. Mike nodded and helped Amanda out. "No more planes!" She said.

As the group entered the city, the day had gotten a lot better. All the dark clouds had dispersed and the sun began to shine. "That's just dandy! Why does everything bad happen while we are in bad predicaments?" Jeff complained. The city was rather small. Not what you would call a commercial town. There were a few people on the streets, but not many. Mike saw a trainer cradling an injured Raticate just up the road. "Don't worry Rati, I'll get you to the Pokecenter and you can rest!" He said sadly. Mike walked up to him. "What happened?" He asked. "I thought I could beat the gym leader, but I was horribly wrong!" He said sadly. "Raticate was poisoned badly during the fight. I need to get it to the center!" He said and began to head off.

"So I guess that means I'll be up against a poison type leader." Mike said. "This could be a problem. Or it could not…" Mike said grinning. "What you going to do?" Jeff asked. "Let's take a trip to the Pokecenter." Mike replied. The group headed down the path they saw the boy go. Soon, they came upon the Pokecenter. "So we're here, now what?" Amanda asked. "I'm exchanging for Drowzee." Mike said grinning.

The group entered the center where they again saw the boy. He sat worrying on the bench with his head down. Mike walked up to the Pokeball transport system while Amanda approached the boy. "Don't worry; I'm sure Raticate will be fine." She said smiling. The boy nodded. Mike fiddled with his Pokeballs. "Which one should I give to mom for Drowzee?" he asked himself. He then remembered. "I'll send Carvanha over. I don't think there will be much water in the gym today." He said out loud. His mother answered happily. "Why hello Mike!" She yelled. "How's my baby?" "Just fine…" He replied. "I'm heading to the gym and could use Drowzee for this fight." Mike then said.

"Why of course, right away!" His mom replied. "Oh Drowzee sweetie, someone wants to see you!" She yelled. Mike's Pokemon walked into view. It sparkled more then ever. "I just gave it a nice brushing!" She smiled. Mike put Carvanha's Pokeball on the teleporter. As the two Pokemon switched, he warned his mom. "Oh mom, this Pokemon I'm sending isn't like Drowzee. I wouldn't let it out." He said smiling. "Oh I'm sure it's fine!" She said. Mike shrugged. The process was then complete and Mike picked up Drowzee's Pokeball. "Thanks mom!" He said. "Love ya son!" She replied. "You too mom!" Mike said and hung up.

Mike's mom took the Pokeball from the transporter. "Let's so who gets to be brushed now!" She said throwing the Pokeball. It formed into Carvanha, who flopped around angrily. "Well now, maybe you can't be brushed." She said backing nervously away. Carvanha began to flop harder and crashed against a nearby desk. The vase on it fell to the floor and shattered. "Ok, you want water!" She said and rushed to the sink. She filled up a pot with water and returned to the living room. Carvanha was flopping like mad. She wearily approached it and grabbed it by the tail fin. Carvanha began to flail madly and she chucked it into the port. It still flopped around as she rushed to the backyard and chucked the pot into the small pond out back. "There, have fun!" She said nervously and ran inside. Carvanha surfaced and then dive.

Mike threw the Pokeball that contained Drowzee to the ground. It took shape and smiled happily. "There you are buddy!" Mike said as the sparkles around it diminished. "Ready to help me out?" He then asked. Drowzee happily nodded. "Then let's go!" Mike said. Amanda waved goodbye to the boy and the three headed off. They didn't walk to far when they approached the Noman Isle gym. "Well here we are!" Mike said staring at it. The gym was dark and covered in plants Mike had never seen before. "These are all tropical, and I bet they're poisonous!" Jeff said. "This guy's wacko! Who has poisonous flowers all over their house?" He then remarked. "We'll soon find out." Mike said and started up the steps.

Mike opened the large doors of the gym, being careful not to touch the ivy that grew there. "Is anyone here?" He said loudly. Suddenly, a large man towered over him. "Vwhat do you want?" He said in a German accent. "I'm here for a match with the Noman Isle gym leader." Mike weakly replied. "Vwell you looking at him!" The man said. He seemed a little annoyed. "Hi…" Mike said weakly. "Ha! I scare you don't I?" The man started laughing. Mike thought he was as insane as Grant from the forest. He suddenly grabbed Mike and pulled him inside. "Don't vworry yourself. I don't bite!" He said happily. "But my Pokemon do!" He grinned. "The name is Nigel!" He then added in. "Yes my boy, vwe vwill battle!" Amanda and Jeff walked in as the large man pulled Mike farther inside the gym.

The group suddenly came upon the battlefield. It was just like outside; covered in ivy. "This is my humble abode!" Nigel said grinning. "So now, how bout two on two Pokemon battle?" He then asked Mike. Mike nodded. This man looked like a wrestler, but actually turned out to be rather nice. "Zhen vwe vwill battle!" He said and waddled to the opposing side of the ring. Mike walked over to his side. "Now zhen ref!" Nigel yelled. A woman appeared next to him. "See to it that this is a great match!" He yelled to Mike as the woman walked to the scoreboard. "I no use flags in zis gym! Vwe use high tech scoreboard!" He said modeling the scoreboard. Mike's picture appeared on the right side and Nigel's formed on the left.

"Now zhen, pick Pokemon!" He grinned. Mike decided to start off strong. "Electrike go!" He yelled as his starter formed. To Mike's shock, Electrike was sleeping!" "Vwhat is this Mike? You trying to insult me?" Nigel said grinning. "Electrike!" Mike yelled. The Pokemon slowly got up yawning. It looked at Mike then realized it was in battle. It yelped and turned prepared. "Zthere vwe go!" Nigel said. "Now I choose Pokemon! Go Nidorino!" He yelled. The Pokemon appeared smashing its foot to the ground. "Electrike, use quick attack!" Mike yelled. Electrike barked and sped towards Nidorino. "Use horn attack!" Nigel roared. He suddenly turned from friendly to determined.

Electrike raced at Nidorino, but it didn't move a muscle. When Electrike came in range, Nidorino flicked its head back and jolted its horn forward, smashing into Electrike. It yelped and fell back. "Now, use ze poison sting!" Nigel commanded. Nidorino stepped back and starting shooting tiny barbs from its horn. Electrike dodged well, but it couldn't hold out for long. "Electrike, use agility!" Mike yelled. Electrike began to run around Nidorino. "Nidorino, stop pesky Pokemon vwith body slam!" Nigel replied. Nidorino charged at Electrike and leapt up, but Electrike was out of the way in a flash. Nidorino crashed into the ground. "Use thunderbolt!" Mike yelled. Electrike let loose the jolt of lightning, striking Nidorino hard. The Pokemon cried out in pain, but managed to get up.

"Nidorino, use horn attack!" Nigel yelled. Nidorino rushed at Electrike. "Electrike, dodge!" Mike yelled again. Electrike began to run, but it suddenly tripped on a patch of ivy near it. Nidorino slammed into the Pokemon, causing it to yelp in pain as it flew through the air. Electrike landed hard and slowly got up. "Nidorino, now use your body slam!" Nigel yelled. "Electrike still has speed!" Mike grinned. "Dodge!" Electrike was now breathing heavily, and Mike realized it didn't have the speed. Nidorino was charging fast and it leapt up into the air. "Thunderbolt!" Mike yelled. Nidorino was pouncing. As it neared the end of its attack, a jolt of lightning blew it back. Nidorino crashed to the ground unable to battle. "Great job!" Mike yelled. Nigel recalled his Pokemon. 'Great job Mike, but vwe will now see how good you are!" He said.

Nigel tossed another Pokeball onto the field and a large purple Pokemon formed. "What's that?" Amanda asked. "It's the big purple dude from McDonalds!" Jeff yelled. "Swalot; the poison bag Pokemon. When Swalot spots prey, it spurts out a hideously toxic fluid from its pores and sprays the target. Once the prey has weakened, this Pokemon gulps it down whole with its cavernous mouth." The Pokdedex muttered. "Wow, that don't sound too good." Mike said nervously.

"Svwalot, use ze stock pile!" Nigel roared. Swalot bellowed and sucked in energy. "Electrike, use spark!" Mike yelled. Electrike nodded and released the attack. It headed straight for Swalot, but the attack was then digested in the Pokemon's stock pile. "What the..?" Mike said in shock. "Now, use ze spit up!" Nigel commanded. Swalot bellowed again, then opened its mouth as all the energy it had absorbed spat out in a large purple ooze. "Eww!" Amanda said in grotesque. "Wow, someone let off a stink bomb in here!" Jeff said holding his nose. The spit up landed right on Electrike. The poor Pokemon couldn't move and was being massacred by the attack. "Now, finish off vwith ze sludge bomb." Nigel roared. Swalot flailed its arms and released a huge black ball of sludge. It struck the immobile Electrike, who fell down hard. "Return!" Mike yelled recalling it.

"You vwant to give up?" Nigel smiled. "Not today!" Mike replied and tossed another Pokeball. Drowzee formed in a shower of sparkles. "Wvow, that not ordinary Drowzee!" Nigel said smiling. Mike nodded. "Ok Drowzee, use psychic!" Mike yelled. "Use ze body slam!" Nigel ordered. Swalot bellowed and leapt up. Drowzee began to focus, but it wasn't fast enough. Swalot connected with it and crushed it under its weight. "Drowzee, use confusion!" Mike yelled. Swalot was suddenly lifted from the Pokemon. Drowzee flicked its finger and Swalot flew across the field. It smashed into the wall, but easily got up.

"Swalot, use ze stock pile!" Nigel roared. Mike knew he was semi worried. He also knew that he couldn't attack Swalot while it was stockpiling. "Drowzee, use calm mind!" Mike yelled. Drowzee began to relax as it closed its eyes. "Now Swalot, use ze spit up!" Nigel roared> "Drowzee, run straight at Swalot!" Mike yelled. Drowzee laughed. It then lifted itself off the ground and began to float towards Swalot. "Or you could hover." Mike said laughing. Drowzee made it to Swalot as it was about to spit up. "Now reflect!" Mike yelled. Drowzee created a wall in front of it and Swalot spit up. The attack hit the reflect and sprayed back at Swalot. "At that close of range, projectiles like that don't have a chance!" Mike yelled. "Oh no!" Nigel said holding his head.

Swalot was now covered in its own spit up. "Drowzee, use psychic!" Mike yelled. Drowzee held its finger out and began to lift Swalot. "Use ze sludge bomb!" Nigel roared. Swalot managed to launch the attack. It struck Drowzee, who lost hold of it. Swalot crashed to the ground. "Ha, I teach you lesson Mike!" Nigel said smiling. "Poison Pokemon vwill always win!" Nigel roared. "Us ze body slam!" Swalot leapt at Drowzee. "Hypnosis!" Mike yelled. Drowzee held its hands up and began to flail them. The familiar rings emitted from it. Swalot couldn't turn away, and by the time it landed, it was dozing.

"Zhat not possible!" Nigel said in shock. "Now Drowzee, dream eater!" Mike said smiling. A black orb was released from the Pokemon. It struck Swalot who winced as if scared. The orb the returned to Drowzee .Mike looked to see Swalot had swirls for eyes. He had won! "You did it Drowzee!" Mike yelled. Drowzee leapt up pleased with itself. "Return!" Nigel said as his Swalot was sucked inside the Pokeball. He waddled up to Mike who was hugging Drowzee. "Sparkly Drowzee did vwell in battle. You deserve this!" He said. In his hand was the thorn badge. Mike picked it from him. "I got a Thorn Badge!" He yelled. Amanda and Jeff clapped.

Outside, Mike said his goodbyes to Nigel. "That was great battle. I vwill practice harder and next time vwe meet, I vwill be the victor!" Nigel said grinning. He held out his hand and Mike shook it. Mike waved again and the group headed back to the Pokecenter. There, Mike contacted his mom. "Hun, I would appreciate it if Drowzee came back. At least it kept me company. This other thing stares at me! I'm afraid to go outside!" She yelled. Mike nodded. "Ok mom, send Carvanha back!" His mom left the picture and he heard a bunch of screaming before she returned. "Ok, here you go!" She said putting the Pokeball down. Mike set Drowzee's down also. "Thanks Drowzee, have fun at home!" Mike said smiling. Carvanha's Pokeball formed and Mike picked it up. "Bye mom!" He said and hung up.

Team Steam was busily munching at the local diner. They had been there all day. "When are those morons going to get here?" Bonnie roared. She then saw the group heading by. Mike was tossing his new badge up and down. "O they've been here for quite some time!" Clyde grinned. "I just wasn't finished eating so I could tell you." Bonnie smacked him and ran down the road after them. Clyde shook off the hit and ran off after her.

Default Search for Knowledge: A Champion's Story

Sorry guys but I didn't get to write today. I gave myself a little break since I have been making multiple chapters a day. Also, I was at the Buick Open Tourney watching Tiger Woods golf most of the day. Expect 1-2 chapters tomorrow though. Also, no one has commented on my last chapter yet.
