Oak's Relatives?

All anyone ever talks about is who Ash's father is, but we also forget to think about Gary and Professor Oak.

Professor Oak is Gary's grandpa, so that means that Professor Oak must have been married at one time and had a child. Then, that child, who must be Gary's mom or dad, had Gary. So, who are Gary's parents and who are/is Oak's children/child?

On the Gameboy, Gary has a sister, which could mean that Gary has one in the Anime.

Anyone have any ideas?

So, Samuel Oak is Gary Oak's Father's Father.

In the Japanese marriage customs the husband can take the clan name of his wife.

Yes, it doesn't matter in Japanese customs. So Oak could be Gary's mother's father, but I think its the father's father.

I THINK Gary calls Oak "Morfar" in the swedish version. Thats swedish (Well duh) For grampa on your mothers side.

Ah...interesting. How about that his parents died, and Oak kinda took care of him. we have never seen his house either.

Uh.... that pic is rather inacurate. First of all, have we ever had any proof that Oak is also ASH's Grandfather? Besides, even if he is, he'd be on Ash's MOM's side... considering her last name is Ketchum, and Oak's is... well, Oak.

Wow, that family chart makes my eyes bleed. Ash's dad is not Gary's dad. There is no proof. Who really cares who Oak's son is, it's not like it would be a great addition to the anime. We could do without it just as we do without seeing Misty's parents.

Somehow I doubt that they would be related, as Gary has a more white complexion and why Ash has the more typical asian look.. Which means that his dad is probably the asian look cause his mom is whiter.

Well, Gary could be related to Agatha, I remember in the pokemon r/b Agatha talks about Oak being her boy friend, maybe they had kids which then gave birth to Gary??It would explain the "league material" type stuff.

On the Japanese cultural reference...in the dub, they have the same last names so according to American traditions, Professor Oak must be Gary Oak's father's father. And Agatha Oak does have kind of a ring to it.
