Who's around who can/is willing to ref? I know of Oslo and DL. By the looks of things, EmeraldGen3 (now EG3 for short) is reffing, but... slowly?
I might be willing to join the fun, but give it some time.

I'm still helter skelter, but the two battles I have will be done today.
When the hell did I ever have time for 15 reffings in a day?

Technically, I CAN ref.. But I don't. I was never very good outside of contests... Speaking of, the Halloween results should be up after another short delay. I promise!

You can only get better with continued practice! And if it gets confusing, you can always ask one of your fellow refs for advice.
I have to remind myself to get back to reffing someday...if I can find any of the resources I made while I last reffed here, I may be inclined to ref here again.
But being as this is the suggestion thread, I'm curious to ask, is the double point promotion only lasting until the end of this month? If so, is it possible it may be extended with enough activity here?

yeah im just slow with school and band oh and by the way speaking of band I'm going to be in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade so that entire week I will be gone so tune into that channel and watch me slay as a sousaphone
I could try reffing. I just have a lot on my plate right now, but I'll see how things work out in the future.
There are too many variables for me in a Pokemon Battle to ref. I think it would make hours to put up a single round and still I'd get no sleep at night thinking if something went wrong. Honestly, would me reffing make more good or bad? I might have to quit reffing in the middle of the battle, and then the participants would have to apply for sub-reffing.
For me, the whole hassle with getting back into reffing is trying to get my template back in working order. Usually the hardest part of reffing a battle is implementing all the information in Round 1, once you're able to get that out of the way, reffing the rest of the battle is pretty cake because you have all the tables already preset so its a matter of copying and pasting and obviously just changing the moves that were made and the health/energy stats. Obviously, this all resets when a Pokemon is knocked out and a new one is sent forth but it's not too bad if I say so myself.
Hell, if I can figure out my template once more, I might dive into the fray. God knows the reffing rewards were actually worth something.
Reffing definitely was fun, but it depends if you have the motivation to do it and it's something that I don't really want to invest time into. Sorry guys, I'm the problem.
I'm ready to ref... I just need a mod to approve me. Mods: I suggest you get to the reffing tower and tick me off to get started!
Hey, Suggestion Thread.
Here's a suggestion:
Come fight me.
I have a suggestion (well more a request but...), buff steadfast, in the games its ok because flinching only happens if your opponent hits first, therefore more speed prevents that, however here you can flinch regardless of whether or not you hit second (unless there's an obscure thread somewhere that states otherwise) so my request is that steadfast either receives immunity from flinching, or is prevented from flinching if moving first
I don't know about the other refs, but I ref flinch so that it can only occur when the user of a move such as Bite attacks first.
This isn't really a suggestion, but I am wondering why you don't allow sig. Moves.
We did away with signature moves a long time ago because it became too difficult for the mod teams to really govern them. They were either too similar to already established moves or broken. The short answer is that they've never been established in the Pokémon canon, so they're irrelevant in our league.

Edit: This was supposed to go in the news thread. Sorry.

Could it bring more activity if referees wouldn't have to seek approval? Last time I checked, mock reffing hasn't been updated for aeons.
I'm thinking about just burning this place down and rebooting the entire league when Sun and Moon come out. Anyone interested?
-Grey
If the release of Pokemon Sun/Moon helps immensely in reviving ASB, that would be good...but by rebooting the entire league, do you mean for us to get new teams of Pokemon and restart our bank accounts at 0, Greyfox? Many of us (not just you and I) worked hard to get the Pokemon and points that have been left idle but are still usable in the future, and quite frankly, I can't imagine restarting at square one for a second time.

Well, we don't really do anything with them anyway. And I'm not suggesting a full reset by any means. Each person can choose to hold onto a select few Pokemon on their teams and start from scratch with everything else.
-Grey
Why should we start over? Like Knight of Time said we worked hard for the Pokemon and points. As for myself, my own bank account is low, but what about my Pokemon? The only reason I can think of is that the battles that were going on became glitchy when the board code changed. That leads to another question, does anybody know how to ref with the current board code besides perhaps Oslo?
Nothing. Everyone else left as well.
So I've finally decided to come back haha, I see the place is dead as can be though :'( what all have I missed?
Does this mean we have a potential active ref?
Yep yep, I really just have to look at some of my old battles I reffed and I'm good to go
I wouldn't mind a reboot in changes to overall structure of how the league works (Safari Zone, Gyms, games, etc.) but I really wouldn't want to restart on points and Pokemon.
And I would definitely be down to help out in whatever way I can to help make the reboot happen.
I have a few ideas that could be implemented to make the league more engaging. And while I would prefer a hard reboot to give newcomers a fair shot, I feel like a compromise could be made.
For instance--we could start over from scratch, but designate some of our old Pokémon to a standby position. We won't be able to use them rightaway, but we won't outright lose them either. After as few months or so, we can use them again.

Well, this IS *Anime* Style Battling... So I guess it isn't exactly an outlandish concept.
