After a while of looking at the diagram, you hear a knocking noise coming from downstairs.

While still holding onto your barrel rolling Pidgeot, you encourage Keldeo and Terrakion to speak to Virizion.



"Is this some kind of blasted trick?" Terrakion says.

"It is no trick, comrade," Elegance says, still standing in the mud pit. "You have been hoodwinked. Humans used dark magic to assume control of my and Cobalion's bodies. I have now been set right. I am as I should be and the human who inhabited me is now sharing the body of that Pidgeot."

You let go of Vigilance and fall into Darwin's arms. You retrieve Vigilance's Pokeball from Darwin's pouch and use it to recall her. However, as soon as she's recalled, she bursts back out of the ball and continues jerking around in the air. You start thinking happy thoughts and can feel another Heart Swap charging inside you.

"And... that Manaphy... is a Pokemon trainer?" Keldeo asks. "In all my days, I never would have imagined I'd see something like this."

You turn to the Crush Quarry Pokemon still amassed around you and ask them to pull Elegance from the mud pit, which they start doing. You also ask them to help you catch Cobalion.



"But Manaphy," Boldore says to you, "I do not see Cobalion anywhere."

He's right. You scan the large basin around you, which is still littered with various injured Team Aqua and Team Magma members as well as their fainted Pokemon. You do not see Father among them.

The Roggenrola you saved waddles up to Terrakion and pokes him on the leg.



"Uh, sir, I know this is prolly a bad time," she says, "but the mining tunnels are all caving in. The Underground Mausoleum is already done for and I think everything else is going to be messed up too. Please, you need to save our homes!"

At the same time, Senka begins to speak through your convulsing Pidgeot.

"Return me... to... Virizion's body," Senka says, straining as she tries to dominate Vigilance's consciousness, "or... I will destroy myself... and take... this Pidgeot... with me!"

She lets out a shriek and dive-bombs the ground hard. Your Pidgeot continues to flail around on the ground, beating herself with her wings.

You tell Senka to accept her fate. Fortunately, Vigilance seems to be winning the battle with Senka's consciousness. Her thrashing dies down a fair bit and, when you return her to her Pokeball a second time, she stays inside. You get Terrakion, Keldeo and the #crushquarriors to start fixing the situation in the mining tunnels. Keldeo is able to use Surf to draw out much of the surplus water while some of the other Pokemon assist by creating a makeshift sluice. Terrakion uses his affinity for rocks to fortify the tunnel walls that are still intact while others help by excavating the spaces that have collapsed.

"The repairs will take quite a while yet, but it looks like they have things under control for now," Cobalion says, hopping up beside you. "I'm concerned about where Father might have gone. Perhaps we should seek him out. However, since you are likely equally concerned about your body, if you would like to make a return trip to Sunshine Fields first, I understand. I can empathize with your situation. Disembodiment is a most peculiar state."

Nearby, a Pumpkaboo idly sits on the edge of an empty grave.

He doesn't turn to look at you. Instead, still kneeling before the headstone, he begins to speak.

"Many years ago, when Senka was still a child, I founded a Pokemon sanctuary in a little wooded grove not far from Warwick Meadows," he says. "Shady Pines, we called it. It was idyllic—just a lovely little refuge where Pokemon without the ability to fend for themselves could go without fear of attack or capture. We loved and cared for those Pokemon as though they were our children. We ensured they were happy and, in turn, we grew happy.

"We devoted our lives to Shady Pines and nurtured countless Pokemon to the point of self-sufficiency. Nothing brought us greater joy than the day a Pokemon realized he or she did not need to remain within our boundaries any longer and embarked on new adventures in the world. That was our goal for all the Pokemon we sheltered over the years.

"Then, about six months ago, in the dead of night, some poachers infiltrated the Safari Zone and intruded upon our sanctuary. They sought to capture the Shady Pines Pokemon. Senka and I arrived as soon as we caught word. We entered the grove in an attempt to thwart the poachers' activities. I grabbed my flare gun and tried to shoot off a flare into the sky, hoping to scare off the poachers. The flare struck the bough of a tree, which caught on fire. Soon, the entire sanctuary was ablaze. The poachers fled, but the Pokemon we tended lacked the instincts to do the same. They had spent most of their lives in Shady Pines and had come to equate that space with safety, you see, so the idea of fleeing the sanctuary to escape danger was not something they could comprehend. I tried to get them to flee. I begged them, truly, but they would not go. In the end, they were consumed by fire. This burial plot is where their bodies were put to rest.

"I cannot explain the grief we experienced. The disaster was my fault as much as the poachers', if not more. Senka and I were sickened by the malice of humans, so we made it our goal to ensure such a tragedy could never happen again. More specifically, we wanted to abandon our human forms and force all other humans out of the Safari Zone for good. We studied the ancient magical arts and chose to possess the bodies of the Swords of Justice, because of their power and because justice was the only thing we ever wanted.

"When I saw you allying with the Crush Quarry Pokemon to trap my daughter, I realized our plan was thwarted, so I fled. You must think us to be violent monsters. I only wish to impress upon you that I lost a bit of myself the night the sanctuary Pokemon perished, and my life since then has been a singular effort to ensure something righteous came of their deaths. I am not a bad man, and my daughter is not a bad woman, but I see now that noble intentions can still sometimes court failure.

"But all this is neither here nor there at this point. I have told my story and now there is nothing left to say. Do with us as you see fit. I only hope I have not done an indignity upon the memory of my friends."
