Santa merrily begins Round4 by rearing back for a focus punch.He closed his eyes and his face turned bright red.By the time Santa actully did throw his arm, grinch was clear out of the way. The sneaky Sablye snickered.Dissapointed, Santa then concentrates for an icebeam..As the glistening beam explodes from his body, Grinch has no time to move. Grinch is thrown backward. The slightly dazed Sablye slowly returns to his feet and releases a confuse ray. The stunned Delibird took a moment to think. What happened? He remembered his trainers orders booming through his brain. Focus Punch, Ice Beam, Present. The only thing was Delibird forgot he had already done Focus Punch and Ice beam. So when Santa reared back for anothor focus punch, Sablye hit him with a firey fist that sent Delibird sprawling backward. At that moment, Sablye took his chance to use a thief attack. Delibird, confused, took the damage and rolled over in pain.

Rapamon2: Not approved. I have to admit your grammar and use of words was a big improvement from your past attempts, but you did not tell us the stats after the round, and your punctuation was bad in places, such as duble fullstops and no spaces after a full stop etc.

Don't ask me why I'm arguing this point... it's not like the promotion from Intermediate to Experienced ref holds a greater reward (one evolution/catch per four battles versus one evolution/catch per four battles... again).

ROUND 4: St Nick vs. Scrooge

Here again at the wintery wonderland where an interesting battle is taking place, my toes are freezing of. But this doesn’t seem to bother the pokémon as they prepare to engage into another round of combat.

As the joyful Santa charges up energy in on of its wings Grinch is trying to lock its eyes with Santa. The delibird satisfied with the amount of energy gathered in its hand rushes towards his foes. Seeing the opportunity fires a glowing white energy from the eyes. Santa hit by the attack doesn’t feel any damage and keeps rushing on. He swings his fist, well actually his wing, but it fazes through the ghostly sableye. The bird pokémon turns around and locks eyes with Grinch. Suddenly Santa has a throbbing headache. The confusion is kicking in.

Now Grinch is the one who is rushing towards his opponent. While running he spits a small fireball in his hand and soon his entire fist is consumed by fire. Santa is gathering icy particles in his mouth. He takes aim,… but suddenly grabs his head and the ice beam is shot into the air. While his head is hurting Grinch punches Santa with the fiery fist and knocks him back a couple of feet. Some of the white feathers on his stomach seem a little charred.

Santa gets up and reaches for something. Hang on folks, use of outside weapons is prohibited, I might need to interfere. Santa pulls out a red present with a yellow bowtie. I guess I can allow that… He throws it toward Grinch, who suddenly wants to know what’s inside the box. As he walks up to the box of mystery he doesn’t notice the smile on Santa’s face. Totally ignorant of the satisfaction from his foe Grinch walks up to the box and pulls of the bowtie. A small explosion takes place. Santa seemed to have expected a bigger boom. Now frustrated Grinch once again runs to his foe and starts yanking Santa’s tail. Ouch that’s got to hurt. Seeing as the tail can’t be detached Grinch lets lose of the tail and takes a little distance on his foe.

Silencer - I don't see any major problems. The damage done to both Delibird and Sableye seems a little high but that can be corrected the next time you ref. Also, (and this concerns Weasel Overlord too, since Chris approved him and I didn't noticed until I went back and checked) Present is a Normal Type attack, so it shouldn't have affected Sableye.

Approved as a Rookie Ref, but be sure to check over your damage calculations and resistances.

The Battle
Arena: Winter Wonderland <> Snow is Falling

[center] Another round begins as a diamond eyed pokemon Sableye, nicknamed the 'Grinch' focuses on 'Santa' the cute little Delibird on the opposite side of the arena.

Santa is staring down the battlefield at the Grinch, his fist clenched as raw fighting energy begins to emit from the arm and hand.

But Santa's world is beginning to go topsy-turvy! The World is becoming a confusing mess, and now even the snow mounds are looking dangerous. Terrified of everything around him, Santa slams his fist into a rather large snow mound, which is obliterated on impact.

Snickering, Grinch smiles, seeking his chance, his hand flamed up, rushing towards his opponent, Grinch wasted no time slamming his flaming fist into the stomach of poor 'ol Santa who double backed.

Still confused, but realizing that Grinch is a bigger threat then any snow pile, Santa hulls himself up, and turns around to face Grinch. But his disorientation is throwing him off; Grinch keeps wobbling back in forth, nevertheless, the defiant Delibird fires off a ice beam, managing to knick the side of Grinch, causing a little damage.

Trying hard to focus, Santa reached to... Somewhere, and then pulls out a beautifully wrapped present. Smiling, and seemingly friendly, Santa tosses the present towards Grinch. Who greedily accepts the offer.

1...2...3... BOOM.

Grinch waves his arms in disarray as an explosion erupts in his face. Thankfully, his body dissipates for a minute before reforming back together. Frowning, he glares up at Santa, who is surprised that his attack had... No effect.

Angrily, The Sableye marches up to Delibird, grabs his arm, and greedily yanks on it. Delibird yelps out in surprise, and tears his arm away from the Grinch, who smiled, seeing his caused pain.[center]

There is a ventilation pipe blowing out steam in one corner, while the roof access door is in the diagonally opposite corner. It's a fine day, and no criminal masterminds are around to interrupt the battle

Bruce "Listen up Batman, a robin could could beat that insect, so blow it off the roof with a Whirlwind, then use Fly to follow it as it falls and use Air Cutter to slice it good before it hits the ground!"

Peter "So that rich boy thinks he can get the better of us does he? Use Agility to move away from the edge and behind that thing in the air, then ground it by wrapping it up in a Spider Web. Finish it off by grabbing with with Psychic and tossing it off the edge!"

Round 1... begin!

Goldenrod City, long since abandoned, is now only used for casual battles between trainers. Aside from a Blastoise beating up a Carvanha in an aquarium across town, the city is silent, perfect for the epic battle about to take place. Atop the tallest building in Goldenrod, two mysterious trainers meet. One sends out a black, sparkling Crobat, aptly named Batman, while the other sends out an Ariados named Spiderman. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a paparazzi jumps out and takes a photo. He jumps away, yammering wildly about finally having a photo of Spiderman and Peter Parker in the same spot. What a bizarro. The trainers, unperterbed, give their commands, and the battle begins.
The naturally speedy Batman starts off by beating his wings back and forth rapidly, creating a vicious, localized whirlwind around his spidery foe. However, Spiderman, ever prepared, zips out of the way in the nick of time, using a well-timed Agility to dart around behind Batman. Batman turns to face his foe as the Whirlwind dies down, not achieveing any sort of goal whatsoever.
However, just as Batman turns around, he gets hit with a facefull of webbing, courtesy of Spiderman. The sticky string binds itself around the Crobat, and, due to his wings being pinned, slowly forces Batman to the ground, despite repeated attempts to Fly up, up and away. Spiderman only looks on and snickers (or, as well as an Ariados can snicker) as Batman reaches the roof and stays there.
The next step in Spiderman's master plan is to ground Batman... permanently. Glowing a pale blue, the Ariados locks his eyes onto the bound Batman as a similar blue glow surrounds the Crobat. Batman struggles more and more as he is lifted psychically into the air... Spiderman holds him there for a moment before unceremoniously hurling him off the skyscraper. What will happen to our hero? Will Spiderman prove triumphant and unleash his evil plan to save the world? Find out next issue!

...Just kidding. Batman falls from the sky, but manages to find enough wiggle room to unleash an Air Cutter attack. The air blades cut through the webbing covering him. Now liberated, Batman flaps his way back to the rooftop, to the disappointed face of Spiderman.

Start Round: One

Both pokemon are brimming with energy as their trainers are ready to show the world who’s the best superhero. There match is going to decide it once and for all.

Bruce Wayne is sure of his victory and wants to end this battle as his pokemon, fast, strong and effectively. His command was heard all around Goldenrod as he shouts it with great passion only to receive a silent, quick counter reaction of Peter Parker!

Batman starts of this first round with an enormous Whirlwind! Peter Parkers spider-sense must be real as the quick counter to the magnificent Whirlwind was quickly executed by Spiderman who used an Agility to get out of the way.

Spiderman raced as a madman, who was only seen as a blur to the shiny Crobat who was now flying above the arena. Batman decided to make up for his mistake and flew right in the sky, made a quick dive and hit Spiderman right in the side making him fall of the building.

Ofcourse any spider has a special trait. It can make web! The second command released by Parker was a Spider Web! Ofcourse the planned intention of striking down Batman with it was postponed to save its own ***. He shot sticky threads in the form of web towards the edge of the building. Spiderman quickly stood on his thread and rushed to the building roof.

Angry that his plan failed Batman decided to cut the bug and net to peaces with Air Cutter, but the almighty spider wasn’t planning on countering attacks alone, Peter Parker decided to throw in some offensive moves as Spiderman launched a Psychic attack right towards Batman who was approaching at high speed, its wings in silver. Spiderman turned blue and held Batman in a ferm Psychic grip in mid-air, to finally release him and realize that Batman had absorbed some heavy damage.

It's a trial to see which comic super hero can trump the other. However, they aren't fighting crime in this competition, no-no. They're trying to better themselves the only way they can - through pokémon battling. The DC Comics superstar, Bruce Wayne, decked out in his nice expensive suit with his very own Alfred to hold all his things, smirks to himself. "Alfred," he says, "summon my crobat, Batman!"

"Of course, sir," says the poor butler as he pulls from a black leather bag a single poké ball - also colored black. Weakly, he tosses the ball up into the air, releasing a small, bat-like creature, "Croobat!"

The much younger trainer, Peter Parker, sighs; but not because he'd be at a disadvantage, but because he doesn't have an Alfred to call his own. Pulling a red and blue colored poké ball from his beat-up backpack, Peter tosses said ball to the skyscraper ground below, "Let's go, Spiderman!"

Both pokémon emerge from their respective poké balls; they both appear to be a different color than usual, however. No, they aren't shiny; shiny crobats are pink and shiny ariados' are purple. Someone must've altered their appearances... somehow.

Bruce Wayne orders his attacks first, only because he doesn't know any better, "Listen up Batman, a robin could could beat that insect, so blow it off the roof with a Whirlwind, then use Fly to follow it as it falls and use Air Cutter to slice it good before it hits the ground!"

"So that rich boy thinks he can get the better of us does he? Use Agility to move away from the edge and behind that thing in the air, then ground it by wrapping it up in a Spider Web. Finish it off by grabbing with with Psychic and tossing it off the edge!"

Both would-be "trainers" are able to battle freely; the Super Friends are handling any threats in the DC Comics world, whilst the X-Men are taking care of anything in Marvel's faux United States. Batman initiates combat by flapping his wings even faster than usual. A sudden cyclone of wind is thrown forward towards the blue and red spider as he darts away as quickly as possible to avoid it. With his sense of speed over, the ariados finds himself right behind the dark knight, preparing for his second attack. Batman then turns around, only to be entangled by Spiderman's silky webbing. His wings no longer as useful, Batman falls to the rooftop and desparately tries to pull himself free. Whilst he struggles, Spiderman then envelops the mouse with wings in a dark blue aura, akin to his own; Batman begins to feel a slight tingling sensation that causes him hurt (8% damage to Batman). Within a few moments (as bugs aren't very good psychics), Batman is once again lifted into the air and tossed off of the skyscraper. Falling to his doom, the crobat finally manages to free himself from his prison, and flaps his wings hurriedly to bring himself back to his opponent. The unusually colored spider in his sights, Batman's wings begin to glow a white hue as he slices the air in front of him. Sending razor-sharp blades of wind forward, Batman watches as Spiderman is struck by them (12% damage to Spiderman).

Both pokémon are still battle-ready; however, Spiderman has suffered a few cuts whilst Batman is quite fatigued from his free-fall.

Intro
The bustling streets of Goldenrod are at peace, with the crime wave at an all time low. Through a joint venture with the comic book universes 2 legendary heroes meet, under their normal guises. Billionaire Bruce Wayne patiently tosses a red and white sphere in preparation as a blur catches his eye. A young man lands opposite him a top the massive skyscraper in a crouch. “You could have used the stairs” Bruce says with a tinge of annoyance. “Climbing’s faster Mr. Money Bags” Peter Parker retorts with a smirk. From his custom Red and Blue Spidey Pokeball a massive arachnid appears. Bruce rubs his chin and very suavely throws his ball to release a piecing black winged beast.

BATTLE
~~~~~

Orders are issued and the battle jumps off with Spiderman shifting around the rooftop at an unbelievable speed. Batman flaps his leathery wing at his speeding opponent, but can’t lock upon him to blast with his tempest winds. He growl and pant’s light as the Ariados appears behind him.

Spiderman raises his abdomen open his back and quickly fires a tightly pack ball of goop at the bat. As it sails it burst apart into an intricate net to try and seize its recipient but Batman shows his own agile traits by rocketing straight up, avoiding the Spider Web and looping in the sky the crash into his enemy, sending him tumbling to the edge of the building.

Spiderman shake his head to gather his senses but his cringes from a shallow cut across his back. He looks up to see the flapping Batman, tenaciously sending harden white air current to skewer him. Crobat sneers with joy with the spider only inches from falling to his doom only to have his joints lock up. He grunts and strains to moves but the soft violet hue around him doesn’t give way, Spiderman has him in his mental grasp and with a shift of his head he tosses Batman into the edge of the building. It shatters a bit from the impact and the Crobat forcibly fall to the earth. Batman feels a weaking in the psychic link and is able to pull out the dive to swerve back to the arena. Many pedestrians leap out of the way of the falling debris and stare in awe of the ascending bat…

Vermillion: Not approved. Your spelling and grammar needed work, such as ‘his’ instead of ‘he’. This may seem small and irrelevant but if you want a higher status, this needs work.

Grey: Not approved. As usual the style and precision in your reffings is to-notch, and I did laugh a few times. In terms of the reffing, air cutter would not do that much damage to an Ariados, despite the type advantage. It is a weak attack, and I would expect 7/8% at the most, including a type advantage. The point about psychics damage being lower was good to know, but it could have been put into the reffing, such as “The attack, not coming from a direct psychic type, did less damage …”. I also think you could do well by posting the attacks used in your reffing – when looking through it, some descriptions threw me (psychic being dark-blue, for example) although this is much more trivial.
