Whatever we do with the Gyms, I hope we don't just give away another Gym to someone who doesn't have the required badges. GLs should have to earn their spot and I feel like the "we have a vacancy, you have one badge, k take this gym" malarkey cheapens the whole thing. It's certainly possible to earn four badges from five active GLs. That's what should have to happen.

But that's just my Oslopinion. :3

Chalk it up to a reffing error. So... Another topic entirely...

The movelist. There are some funny energy costs on there. Such as Thunder Wave and Stun Spore having different energy values, and toxic and poison powder having the same. Which leads to a question of how much should these moves cost? I'm of the opinion that paralysing/confusing/attract should be a moderate cost, poison powder should be light, toxic is somewhere between moderate and high. Burn is a combination of poison and reduced attack, so should be priced accordingly.

Toxic is a lot more powerful than the usual suspects for high energy... but it comes with drawbacks. Specifically, it isn't an attack, so it can't be used while taunted, and it can't be spammed. Additionally, magic coat and synchronise are things, as well as things like Rest which remove it. (Assuming Rest isn't banned, which is becoming popular).

The other thing I'm wondering about is situational moves like Brine and Facade. Should these be prices as if the situation isn't in place, as if the situation is in place, or somewhere between?

On a different note, I'm putting some serious consideration into doing something I last mentioned here a couple of weeks ago, as in, which is making the 2014 ASB Catch List (with X/Y Pokemon) a separate topic rather than a post in the chat thread...so anyway I have a question I wish to get an answer from any of the moderators here from; would you be okay with me posting this topic, and making a request for it to be stickied, so that we have a little piece of history for everyone to see when they come here?

What happens when those links have been eaten by the god damn transfer hack crap a few years back. I know I kept records of most of my battles through 2013 (where are they) but so they still count if you can't link to them?

Aa yay, the forum's back alive again! Sorry for my inactivity, last time I checked over here it was completely dead so I never really bothered coming back until Puma told me there was some life around here, haha! I'd love to get back into this; maybe not as a ref (not like I ever did that very consistently) but I'd be more than happy to battle and stuff, I'm probably really rusty! (This includes still running my gym; unless I've already been replaced which is cool xD) So yeah, hi guys! I think it depends on the effect you’re going for? The one on the left is more of a badass fantasy look and the one on the right is more of an everyday ready-to-wear look. Since you’re a Gym Leader and they tend to dress ostentatiously, I say you should go with the look on the left. The scarf/top contrast together with the gold clasps and darker pants make for a more impressive ensemble. Normally you’d want to edit that look down before stepping out of the house, but screw it, you’re a Gym Leader. You dgaf.

Thanks for the advice, guys! From an artistic perspective I think I'd have to agree with Em and choose the red and white; however what Oslo mentioned about the effect I'm trying to go for made me realise what the design was missing - it's not bold enough! I was spending way too much time trying to make the clothes look like actual stuff I owned, which sort of held the design back a bit. So with that in mind, I made the design a lot more interesting, and took inspiration from Giratina and Reshiram's designs because that's what quite a few gym leaders seem to do (with their own signature pokemon, of course). This is what I came up with:



Added a waistcoat because it's more interesting than a tee and fits better with the slightly steampunk theme to my gym (dunno why, but I always think of waistcoats when I think of steampunk?), and the new colours are from a combination of shiny reshiram (the white and gold) and giratina (the greys and reds). It works a lot nicer I think, so thanks for that! Now I just need to clean the outlines and finish it up.

Note to self: I know exactly where to come whenever I need fashion advice LOL
