The Early Years
I have known Mat for most of my life. It’s really hard to believe, but it’s now been 17 years when I first met you, back in 1992. Mat and I didn’t start off as friends, in fact, it was quite the opposite. My earliest memory of Mat was back in day-care: it was during naptime, and I was trying to sleep but this weird looking redhead kid opposite kept staring at me, and then he eventually throwing pillows at me. But by Grade 1, we started becoming friends, and soon enough he started coming over to my place everyday after school.

And in many many ways, it really still feels like yesterday, don’t you think? You’d come around after school, and you always had to go home at 5 unless you could ring your Mum to stay longer. And nearly every time you left, you’d always leave your asthma puffer or jumper or whatever at my house. I remember my Mum would always say: “Mathew, you’d lose your head if it wasn’t screwed on.”

We would often jump on my trampoline, and I’m sure you remember the time where we started swearing at a random lady walking down the street, until she got so annoyed that she started walking towards us, so we ran upstairs to my room to hide; we always played my Nintendo, and when we got up-to World 8 on Super Mario Bros 3, you bumped the Nintendo and it froze before we could finish it, so I got so angry I chased you around the house; and of course the day my Dad brought home my Nintendo 64, we both cried with joy.

And we made so many videos with my black and white camera; there’s a video I actually wanted to show, where we are both jumping on my trampoline and you land on the bars and really injure yourself, and as the good friend I am, I keep bouncing without even asking how you are.

Trade - A country may need resources it can't provide for itself, or it's cheaper to import than to produce locally. By trading it's resources to other nations that can't produce them, means that it's one big cycle where everyone trades until they all have what they need while making money by selling what they don't need.

Capital Movements - The flow of money into and out of a country. Important for globalization to keep a constant flow of capital between countries and foreign affairs.

The movement of people- This is the flow of foreign laborers coming to our country willing to use their skills of work. This flow will allow wages to rise.

Spread of knowledge and technology- Probably the most important aspect of globalization, spreading of our knowledge and technology will continue to make other countries as advanced with their education as well as technology.

I went in to purchase an iPhone yesterday, and while we were setting up activation on one of the computers, a woman who appeared to be from the streets (talking to herself in ghetto speak, ragged appearance / dirty) went up to my gf and without provocation kicked her in the leg.
