"Oh, so we have demands now," Pan mutters, rolling her eyes. "This just keeps getting better and better. Well, on with it. Tell them our demands, I guess."

"Yes, we do have demands!" Eckhart says, clearing his throat. "I'm tired of being a NU weakling! I'm tired of getting steamrollered every time I step into battle! Diancie, since you're the creator of the Mega Stones, I order you to create some Mega Stones we can actually use! I want a Chimechite! There's no such thing as that, so you're going to create it right now! And I guess my accomplices want a Pangorite and a Vespiquite and a Chatotite! Create these Mega Stones for us and we promise we won't destroy any of your children!"

A pregnant pause fills the chamber. All eyes fall on Diancie.

"You have to understand," Diancie says slowly. "If it worked like that, I would accede to your request. I truly would. However, I do not willingly choose which Mega Stones I birth into the world. I also do not choose when precisely that event occurs. I am merely a vessel for the magic of the Mega Stones; the exact workings of this magic lie beyond my volition. Perhaps someday I will birth a Chimechite, but I cannot say with any certainty that will ever happen. What I can say is that, right here, right now, I am unable to do what you say. However, his next Trick doesn't work so well. He ends up swapping the his Mega Stone for Eckhart's. The Abomasite ends up in Perseus's possession and the Medichamite ends up in Eckhart's's possession.



"What are you doing?" Eckhart barks. "I... I warned you! Now you're going to get what you deserve!"

He looks at the Medichamite in his possession and makes a funny face as though charging up an attack.

"Woah! You told them not to move an inch and they didn't!" Pan says.

"It's a figure of speech! With those Trick shenanigans, they basically moved several figurative inches!" Eckhart snaps and then lowers his voice to a whisper. "Come on, Eckhart. You can do this. You can do this. Just blow the thing up and they'll know you mean business."

Despite his attempts to talk himself into it, he doesn't execute the attack.

Perseus passes off the Abomasite to Diancie and uses another Trick. The Medichamite in Eckhart's possession vanishes and reappears in Perseus's hands.



"No!" Eckhart snaps. "I was just about to..."

"Oh, please," Pan says, rolling her eyes. "You weren't about to do anything. You're the biggest coward around. I'm glad this whole mess is finally over so we can go back to—"

"Do not call me a coward! I am not a coward! Don't believe me? I'll prove it to all of you right now!" he exclaims. His voice then escalates into a tremendous yell that echoes up and down the rocky cylindrical chamber. "Quinn! Perry! Destroy the remaining Mega Stones! I repeat, destroy the Stones! Now!"

From crevices way up above, Quinn and Perry emerge. They fly overhead with the three remaining Mega Stones in their possession.



The two Pokemon begin charging up powerful attacks, a Hyper Beam and a Boomburst respectively, which they release in a dazzling eruption of light and sound. You shield your eyes against the glare. When the light dims, you look back up in the air to survey the damage. You watch as thousands of lavender, green and orange shards rain down from above in a fine shower.

For a moment, no one says a thing. Eckhart watches you with a triumphant smile and opens his mouth as if to say something, but the words don't come. His smile then falters.

"Mother Diancie," Oread murmurs at last, "I'm so, so sorry."

Diancie peers straight ahead without expression. She looks almost catatonic. Finally, she breaks her silence.

"No."

Suddenly, violent pulses of pink energy explode outward from her body. You're thrown backwards against a tall rock. The ground begins to quake and large boulders break free from the walls and begin tumbling downward.

"Mother Diancie, please!" Oread shouts. "Please, you must..."

The rest of Oread's sentence is drowned out as Diancie emits a horrific wailing noise. Rock formations begin to crumble and the ground beneath you starts to buckle. It then bursts open and you start falling amid a landslide.

Bulbob communicates the location of the Aqueous Ruins stronghold to Professor Jellybottom. You then recall him and return above ground, where the Heracross horde is nowhere to be found. Professor Jellybottom salutes and floats off in the direction of the ocean as you and Senic hop aboard Cindra, who spreads her wings and takes off in the direction of the Scarred Wasteland. Peering down at the ground below, you watch as the tall grasses of Hunter's Cove eventually shrink away. After a while, withered trees bereft of leaves populate the landscape as you arrive at the Scarred Wasteland. Cindra touches down in the middle of the forest and you dismount.



"Jeepers, this place looks pretty grim," she says. "Welp, I'm heading out! I'd love to stay with you and mess with the Prophets, but the Hunter's Cove survivors need me. I hope you're able to find Rosalinda. Give her my regards. Good luck!"

You watch as Cindra shoots off into the sky and is gone.

Perseus begrudgingly heals them. With the exits to the chamber sealed, they can't leave, so instead they silently huddle off to the side as Zyuu gets back to work. A short while later, he pulls one final body out of the rubble.



Diancie's eyes are glassy and her colouring is strangely faded. Perseus tries to treat her with a Heal Pulse, but it has no effect.
