Since everyone comes here, I'm going to post this here. Chris threw an idea I had been toying around with at me, and I think I'm going to follow though.

If you won an Award, you'll get something for it. You'll have to give me a few to set things up, but you'll not be disappointed. So, tally up them totals and keep them close to you.

Also if you were a winner of something like Best Battle, that means you both get an award. Expect your choices to be up and running in the next few weeks.

Hmm, I would second the free evolution, but what about giving a certain amount of points to the person who got an award, as a possible alternative?

Either way, who would choose what kind of reward would be gotten if someone got an award, a mod, or the person who got a said award?

Maybe different catagories get different awards. Anyone who won a Battle award gets a free catch/evolution, anyone who won a Community award gets a free Ultra Ball in the Safari, or points or something. The Zone idea would certainly help reignite the Safari Zone...

Battles: Receive between 6-3 Points. 3 Points for both Contenders.
Arena: One Free Catch.
Contests: 2 Points
Business: Hard to say how to give out awards for this. Probably one free Ball (Poke, Great, Ultra) for the Safari Zone?
Refs: One free Evo
Trainer: A Choice between Points (2-3), one free Catch, or one free trip through the Safari Zone.
Mascot: 4 Points (Hey.. it's impressive)

I also have an idea i wanted to run past people. I know it may over-complicate things but im wondering on the Validity of a 'pokebelt' system. Ie Make things more interesting/Difficult, for people by making them choose say 6 pokemon to have ready to battle with them, so if they enter a battle they must use the Pokemon they have registered with them for that battle. If they wish to change they must do so before the battle starts (ie the first pokemon is announced or both battlers declare themselves ready)

It kinda helps to put the newer people on an even footing with the veteran players. Someone with 4 Pokemon doesnt have quite the depth in finding the perfect match-up to someone who has 25+ etc.

Meh, not the best subject here, that's for sure, but anyway, on a different matter, DarkestLight, Hypotenuse Man, you two ever thought of doing something nice for an ASBer on his/her birthday (e.g. if there was a topic here where all the ASBers could list their birthdays; there'd be no need to list the year if a person didn't want to say how old they would be on their next birthday)? It's something I can kinda imagine, but have a tricky time picturing what would happen with it.

That '6 registered Pokemon' thing is a pretty cool idea. I don't wanna have a team of JUST the 6 Pokemon I like the best,' so it'd save a lot of the Pokemon I have if I just put them in some PC system or something instead of giving/Trading them all away.

Well its just if you think about it anime style, the way we do it now would see two trainers showing up, each carrying a bucket full of Pokeballs for a 3v3, rooting through them for the perfect match instead of adapting and working with what they have.

The way id see it is once a battle starts their team for that battle is locked. They can change it for another battle if they wish but must use whatever was locked in etc.

Also means you can be way more strategic. Do you save your best Pokemon for last as a secret weapon, or use it first to get a steady advantage, at the risk of losing it early on?

Actually Ultimate now that you mention it a PC system is a good Idea, it's like Ive have said for at lest a year now we could have a topic called the "V.S Seeker" where a Profile of are team both the active and stored members, then another topic should be the PC Storage System be called something along the lines of "ditto_pokefreak's PC" (Like Bill's PC.)

Btw for those who don't know ditto_pokefreak had a hand in creating TPM's ASB it's only fitting that we make a Tribute to him as one of are founding fathers well when it comes to the ASB atlest.

I kinda like the PC topic too, but the way I think it would work would require a huge amount of commitment from one or more people to get it working.

The way I propose is similar to the bank topic, people would have to post their ASB teams in the thread including, Pokemon Name, nickname and gender (shiny/not shiny) if need be. Each time they want to change their team they would post in the topic, the post would include which pokemon they are depositing and which ones they are withdrawing. This then could also be updated on the main page along with the teams so everyone else would be able to see what current team they have with them.

Another advantage of this is if people dont notify the people they are battling with them the pokemon name of their next battling choice (which I just experienced while reffing a battle (I am not blaming anyone)) then they can just look at their box list and get an up to date list of their pokemon and their nicknames + genders.

Yes I realise this maybe a lot, but I am very very bored.

Wait! I have an idea... give me a bit to organize my thoughts.

I LIKE the idea of a PC Box for ASB, this way it would ease up on the clutter of various choices to pick. I also like the idea of having a limited number of Pokémon on your team at any one time. This had two effects.

1) It keeps the trainers limited in what Pokémon they can use in any one battle.

2) It gives others a chance to see what other Pokémon another trainer has. Which can be beneficial and detrimental at the same time.

I would not mind heading up this project, however with some members with very LARGE teams it could fill up the entire topic REALLY Quick. It should be separated by name so that a quick CTL+F search of your name will find your entire line-up (even if you don't have it memorized by now ^^U). Perhaps we should dedicate the first two-four posts of the Tower as BOXES and that way we can keep the entire thing organized so far as space of posts and screen space are concerned.

I'm also keen on this idea, since I always found it a bit of shame that if I send out a fire pokemon, there would always come a water pokemon out to haunt me, if not immediatly, once the other faints.

This would highly improve the strategic aspect of ASB AND the creativity of the trainers, since he just has to work with what he's got.

Voting for this, although I'm planning to make a team which consists only about seven or eight pokemon. I do have a small feeling that I won't succeed and will have tons again.

Id say Definite, as the standard for ASB so that everyone new and old gets used to just using 'what they have with them' but make it liftable for novelty matches where more than 6 would be used etc.

I also agree with UC, but since battles of 6 or more pokemon are rare I think we could make some exceptions.
