Chansey releases the link on her foe and charges in front of herself an orb of black ghost power. Spookster shakes the pressure he was under away and gazes at the readying attack. He feels the radiance of shadow energy building and he must put a quick end to it. From his wide eyes comes a cursing gray beam which envelopes Chansey, lifting her off the ground. The shock of the attack releases her Shadow Ball and tags Spookster head on.

Chansey quivers as the curse surrounds her as a grayish mist that she can’t seem to shake off. She grits her teeth and grunts, trying to form another Ghost attack, but her bindings are too great to be severed. The Ghastly chuckles at his opponent’s feeble attempts to over power his well placed voodoo. Without delay Spookster darts forward, ripping another Thunderbolt a fry the egg nurse thoroughly.

Chansey is tossed into a weakened brunt tree, and from the jarring hit, a heavy branch drops with a “WHAM” to pin her under and cut off her air. Spookster watches with glee. He see no reason to follow through with his next command, mostly because A. Ghost attacks are nullified by Normal types and B. Its just to much fun watching a slowly dying opponent suffer….

Ouch, this is bad for Chansey.

I'm far from finished in this battle, but there's one thing I may have done at the occasional time in the old ASB when I got into a near-hopeless situation, that I'm not doing here. I sometimes forfeited battles in the old ASB (not very often though) if I was in a major jam with my last or only Pokemon, but I am more than capable of turning around a harsh situation.

Your move Silencer. BTW, Silencer, one day, when we have some more evolved Pokemon on our teams, we have to have another battle in the future.

Wait for an opening, if you see the slightest option of using confuse ray(still sounds so weird to me) do it, if she covers her eyes for the entire turn take a break. Then hit her hard with thunder bolt and finish this round of with sludge bomb

Chansey, your Safeguard is still up, so that should prevent Spookster's Confuse Ray from affecting you.

First and foremost, we need to get the branch off of you, so use a Psychic to get it off of you.

Then, we need to get Spookster back. Sing to him as best you can, and try to get him drowsy, if not asleep.

Finally, if Spookster has fallen asleep, take advantage of his slumber by draining away a good portion of his health with a Dream Eater, otherwise, if you can, launch a Shadow Ball in his face, or if not, use a Psychic in beam form on him.

Chansey can barely focus under the massive bulk of the limb. But she can’t hold out at this rate, and with all her will power she forcibly lifts the log with her mind, glowing a soft violet. She breathes a sigh of relief and tries to move the logs quickly, but she is slammed by a bright beam. Her safeguard has protected her from the confusion the technique Spookster used is named after, but the sudden hit and flash of light, startles her concentration and the log land upon her again, returning her to her agony.

Spookster cackles and charges his most power Thunderbolt yet. Chansey can barely wheeze, let alone hum a few lullaby bars, and simply struggles with the branch. The Ghastly’s energy has reached its peak and he fires the screaming bolt at the egg nurse. The power of the attack shatters the branch and electrocutes Chansey greatly, causing her body to seizure.

She smokes there on the ground, as if completely lifeless, which gives Spookster ample time to gather in his “throat”, if Ghosts have that, explosive bile. Spookster rears his head back and launches a speeding wad of poison. Inches before striking, Chansey flips up and fires a Shadow Ball. The two attacks collide and detonate, blowing both contenders away from each other. They both land unceremoniously in the thick mud…coughing and aching…

Ouch, things are definitely getting serious now, Chansey.

Seems like your opponent wants to fight as hard as he can, but let's not let up, even if he ends up winning the battle.

Let's see how he would like it if he was to get a taste of his own medicine. Pay him back for the electrocutions you got, by giving him your own Thunderbolt first.

Then, use a Shadow Ball on him, aiming it for his face if you can.

Finish with a second Thunderbolt.

Now, Chansey, just incase he tries Psychic on you, be ready to Struggle, or if another branch hits you and pins you, be ready to use a Psychic to get it off you.

Chansey is the first to rise, with the beginnings of a Thunderbolt already manifesting. Spookster is still in a daze from the blast as the rain bothers his eyes and rises to be struck by lightning, amplified by the moisture. Suddenly a massive headache over comes Chansey, as she feel her energy sapped slowly and painfully. Her bolt slowly dwindles into nothing. Spookster spiteful ways have paid off.

Two ghostly spheres are fired, one to be super effective, and one to be ill effective. They slam into each other and merge into mass of twisting shadows. For seconds it simple sets in this burnt, sad looking arena and simply phases away, canceled out.

Both enemy sort of cock their heads in confusion, but snap out of it as Spookster lunges, going for a feast that is the egg nurse. He bites her head completely but he doesn’t get a chance to savoir her life force, as Chansey screams and shocks the spook aways…

Side Notes – I couldn’t find a definition for the attack Spite, and after consulting another ref, I used it as an energy sapping technique, hence Chansey lost more energy than Health. Chansey only lost health b/c of the bite of Spookster.

Hmm, I have an idea Chansey, though I'm nervous it might backfire.

Do your best to fight off the Psywave while chilling out for a while yourself, then use a Swagger on Gastly, in hopes you can anger him and possibly prevent him from taking his break. It might be our downfall, but despite the fact that your opponent is a tough one even with his lack of any Fighting type moves, we can still win this, if we do exactly what we did against Weasel Overlord's Zangoose, Romuyan (namely chilling out each round before using a move, to try and slow the fatigue down a bit).

Finally, if you have a move left, use a Psychic on Spookster to slam him into a tree. Aftyer all, he should be "solid" at this point.

Chansey, even if you end up being almost no match for Spookster, you've not disappointed me (about the only thing that could disappoint me about losing to someone is if it was a lopsided loss where I was beaten badly).

Taking shelter is the game plan for Spookster, as he emits a volley of energy rings to pummel Chansey. She simple bares the blast, taking the blunt of the energy, Although physically she endured, the mental strain of the psychic attack seeps into her mind. With her status shield fading, she is confused her greatly.

The Gastly watches Chansey clutch her head and sputter hurtful comments to herself, and proceed to double slap herself back and forth. With a slight snicker, Spookster searches for a safe place to rest. In this desolate place, the only refuge is the dirty lake, tinted gray from the ashes of the fire. Being a spirit, breathing is unnecessary for him and he speedily dives into the drink and settles at the bottom to catch his breathe.

The voices in Chansey’s head continue to argue and she can’t help but fight herself, with amped physical power. She punches and rams herself under the influence of confusion and the self induced Swagger. In one final shout of hatred toward herself, she head butts a tree and in turn, dislodges another branch to collapses on her back, grinding her in the mud. She groans hoarsely and can do no more, the last bits of her energy used up, and the raging storm slows to a stop, revealing a setting sun…

Side Notes – Chansey lost b/c of her great confusion , A. From the Psywave, and B. From the Swagger she used on herself which also confuses. Since Swagger increase physical power, she did extra damage to herself. The branch was her ultimate end, pinning her and sapping the rest of her energy.

Ouch, this match really backfired on me in the end.

Due to the way that it's hard for me to predict how you would ref certain moves, Vermilion, I never would have thought Chansey would confuse herself from using Swagger.

No matter, a loss is still a loss.

I guess that goes to show you, sometimes picking a Pokemon with a wide variety of moves that has only one weakness can be a bad idea.

Silencer, I'm going to wait a while before we battle again, namely until at least my Chansey evolves. In fact, since I noticed that you and Vermilion have a Nidoran male and a Nidorino respectively, maybe someday I could team up with someone with at least one Pokemon in common with me (besides my Zangoose and Chansey, I also have a Steelix, Treecko, Absol and Murkrow in the team), and we could have a kind of battle where both partners on each side use a Pokemon they have in common (e.g. two Absol vs. two Nidoking).
