    round eleven

With his first pokémon defeated, challenger Chris 2.0 contemplates for a moment before tossing out his second poké ball, "I choose Volcanst!" The small red and white colored ball slaps against the tile floor of the department store before releasing a very large, very intimidating fire pokémon: a male typhlosion.

"Oh Zombie Jesus on a pogo-stick!," TheBlueAvenger squeels, "we're screwed." A very touching statement, "Okay, Numeron, first, send out a wide-spread Toxic cloud. Next, use a Psychic to compress our foe's windpipe - make it hard for him to breath a bit. Finally, send out a Sleep Powder as well!"

With a confident smirk upon his features, Chris 2.0 readies his counterstrike, "Spray an Ember to ignite the toxic cloud as soon as you can. The explosion should hopefully hurt Numeron. Protect from the Psychic attack and then finally use a Defense Curl to curl into a ball and protect your snout from inhaling that powder."

The battle ensues. Numeron starts out immediately by shaking his large leaves about which slowly release a collection of poisoned spores into the arena. As the cloud grows larger and larger, Volcanst quickly retalliates by spitting out a small red fire ball towards it. When the firery orb connects with the poisonous cloud, it immediately causes a small explosion, igniting the toxins in the air and knocking the exeggutor on his back. Distipugated, Numeron pulls himself back together and then begins to concentrate harshly on his fire-element opponent. Volcanst then summons a golden veil to protect him; as Numeron struggles to damage his opponent, Volcanst's protective veil keeps him safe. Giving up, Numeron then ruffles his leaves again, this time releasing a powder that induces sleep. As they flow through the air, Volcanst retreats into a ball shape, keeping himself once more protected from his opponent's attack.

Good work Volcanst. First use a howl to intimidate your foe and boost attack. Then use an earthquake to throw it off balance, and finish by engulfing it in a flame wheel.

Fire an ember towards any uncoming cloud-like spores.

Okay, Numeron, I want you to fire a Toxic at him - but in sludge form, so he doesn't try to counter it. Then, Teleport into the aquarium. Finally, simply relax.

The challenged, with a sincere smile, calls out to his exeggutor, "Okay, Numeron, I want you to fire a Toxic at him - but in a sludge form, so he doesn't try to counter it. Then, Teleport into the aquarium. Finally, just relax."

Both pokémon glare towards one another, scanning for a weakness. Volcanst, with his firery cape fluttering, opens the round by howling a harsh howl that both intimidates his foe, and empowers himself. Snapping out of his fright, Numeron quickly spits out an acidic puddle of toxins, which then slap across the torso of the great fire beast. Unfazed at first, the typhlosion counters with a strong quake. Slamming his right foot down, he manages to create a trembling sensation in the department store floor. Trying to escape, the coconut tree simply dissappears from the department store, presumably to the pool where his trainer dictated. Alas, having no one to target his majestic flames, Volcanst withdraws his attack for this round; Numeron meanwhile, rests easily in the cool and refreshing pool below.

Okay, I'm unsure about an attack, so I'm going to give separate commands.

If Ingrain doesn't count as a recovery move by Chris's standards, then Numeron, use Ingrain, and then just chill until Volcanst shows up, at which point you should use a Psywave.

    Ingrain ~ Chill/Psywave x2

I would say ingrain IS a recovery move.

Typhlosion, head out the department store to the Aquarium (Lobby, I presume). Then use flame wheel x2.

    round twelve

Still wading in the cool pool, Numeron receives a transmission from his trainer, "Just chill until Volcanst shows up, at which point you should just use Psywave."

Thinking he has it easy-going, Numeron continues to relax peacefully; meanwhile, in the department store, Chris 2.0 calls out to his fire pokémon, "Head out of the department store and into the aquarium.* Then, use Flame Wheel twice!"

The large typhlosion hurriedly makes his way out of the department store; meanwhile, the two trainers and referee are once again teleported via the retired pokémon, Ark.* Reappearing in the aquarium, the trainers watch as Volcanst slowly makes his way down the railings of each floor.* Numeron catches the typhlosion's appearance and doubles back in fear; having witness his own demise, he is a bit uneasy.* However, he quickly snaps out of it and concentrates sharply, sending out a rippling surge of psychotic energy towards the firery beast, who was making his way down the second floor.* Alas, a mighty headache purges the fire creature, and he loses his grip, forcing him to fall onto the ground.* Luckily for him, he was near the ground anyway, so the damage was minimal.* A tad disoriented, Volcanst pulls himself back together and targets his nature-based foe.* His flame collar dances passionately, letting us know that a fire attack is about to come.* The large fire creature shoots from his mouth a rather large wheel of flames which then dart through the air towards the exeggutor. Connecting with the grass creature, the flame wheel then dissipates into nothingness.* Slightly burnt, the exeggutor summons a similar attack as before.* Several waves loft through the air, once more giving Volcanst a headache; he reminisces about the fall, and immediately fires out a second flame wheel in anger.* Once more, it hovers in the air for a few moments before slamming into the coconut tree.* Numeron staggers for a few seconds before regaining his composure; both pokémon eagerly await their trainer's next set of commands.

When I read that he wanted Numeron to teleport into the aquarium, I naturally assumed that aquarium = pool. If TBA says otherwise, then I'll go redo that reffing for you. Heh...

    round thirteen

Isn't it interesting that round thirteen is taking place on a Friday the 13th? Ooh, weird! Chris 2.0, whose pokémon holds the clear advantage, commands his attacks, "Okay Volcanst, Lets try Flame Wheel, Flamethrower, Flame Wheel. Use Quick Attack to run to a different area of the aquarium should Numeron try to use status effects on you. Furthermore, Roar if Numeron uses Psychic to disrupt its concentration."

TheBlueAvenger, who has yet to lose a pokémon in this match spanning the dead city, readies his counter, "Mkay, Numeron," he muses, "I want you to leave the aquarium, but stay just outside of it. Stay out of firing range, though."

Nodding at his trainer, the pained exeggutor waddles to the exit of the aquarium, leaving a very confused typhlosion to pick up the pieces. Having a fully charged Flame Wheel ready to go, Volcanst looks around for his opposition (Volcanst was too busy readying his attack to note the dissappearance of his opponent). Whilst the exeggutor eases off for the round, Volcanst wanders through the aquarium, burning energy as his attack swells up within his mouth. He finally locates the resting grass pokémon, making sure to fire the great wheel of fire upon sight. With no means to counterattack, Numeron is charred by the constant burning of Volcanst's attack. Volcanst then keeps the fire-themed attack volley steady by firing a chain of fire to assault his foe. Finally, a second Flame Wheel is summoned, proceeding to burn off various collections of bark as they fall from Numeron's torso.

    round fourteen

Nearing the end of his first pokémon, Avenger calls out his pen-ultimate attacks for his exeggutor, "Hmmm... Numeron, let's drag this out as long as we can. Protect, then Endure, then [color=orange]Protect again." Hm, dragging out, indeed.

Chris 2.0 choices quickly, "Howl, Fire Blast, relax."

No doubt weak from Volcanst's previous three-strike, Numeron's eyes glow a bright golden color as he summons a golden veil to protect him. Upon seeing the protective spell, Volcast elects not to attempt to damage his foe. Instead, Volcanst roars loudly once again, intimidating his opponent and increasing his own power, Volcanst waits for the veil to dissappear; upon doing so, he immediately creates a large asterisk of fire which slowly floats through the air. Taking the hit head on, Numeron holds onto his remaining bits of energy until the flames subside. His fatigue piling up, Numeron then summons another protective veil, waiting for Volcanst to attack once more. Unfortunately, Volcanst merely sits back and relaxes himself, the poisons inside him still having a field day.

    round fifteen

Easily Numeron's final round, which could be some kind of record, but Chris 2.0 is first to call attacks this time, "Flame Wheel33. If it Protects or runs away, relax. Protect against Explosion or Selfdestruct."

With an unruly smirk upon his features, Avenger choices the coconut tree's last attacks, "Numeron, wait until it's already charging a Flame Wheel, then use Explosion so that it doesn't have time to Protect." An unusually calm Chris 2.0 simply shakes his fist in a violent manner towards TheBlueAvenger, which is ironic considering that Chris 2.0 isn't a very violent person.

Starting immediately, the large typhlosion readies another flame wheel, but he realizes that his opponent is glowing a bright white (which usually results from an exeggutor hitting the very secret "self-destruct" button on his back). Calling off his fire attack, Volcanst tries his best to set up a protective spell, but is suddenly engulfed by a large booming sensation. However, because the remaining energy of Numeron was very slim, the explosion wasn't as grand as he would've hoped... if he even could hope at all given his state. Where the once large, intimidating tree stood, was now a pile of dark gray ashes and a pair of white eyes, blinking. Saddened, TBA recalls the collection of ashes and readies his second pokémon of the battle. But TBA feels relieved in knowing that it took two pokémon fifteen rounds to take 99% of Numeron's strength only to be disappointed when Numeron finishes himself off.

Sorry 'bout that, forgot to add that in the reffing. Because Chris posted his attacks first last round, you'll have to do so first this round. So you'll have to post your next pokémon as well as his or her attacks, followed by Chris'.

Mkay... I'll be sending out my male Carvanha, Triangle Man, into the aquarium tanks.

Triangle Man, start with a Scary Face to cut Volcanst down to size. Then, try a Hydro Pump and finish with a Water Pulse. Of course, if Volcanst doesn't make his way into the aquarium, then just chill.

Volcanst stand over the tank and exhale a long smokescreen to shroud triangle man's vision, but don't go in the water yourself. Also spit a toxic goo into the water and then use your final action to stay clear of the tank.

    round sixteen

After Avenger pulled his first pokémon from the battle, he immediately turns to his next; with the red and white colored ball in hand, he immediately tosses it into the aquarium, "Triangle Man," he shouts as the ball releases into the cold, blue waters, an angry-looking fish creature, "start with a Scary Face to cut Volcanst down to size. Then, try a Hydro Pump and finish with a Water Pulse. Of course, if Volcanst doesn't make his way into the aquarium, then just chill."

Chris 2.0 smirks a wild smirk before calling out to his weakened fire demon, "Volcanst, stand over the tank and exhale a long Smokescreen to shroud Triangle Man's vision, but don't go in the water yourself. Then, spit a Toxic goo into the water and then finish out the round by steering clear of the tank."

The round starts with the aching typhlosion; immediately, he dashes back into the aquarium and launches himself on top of the large fishtank. His bottom appendages gripping onto the railings so he doesn't fall in, Volcanst stares directly at the carvanha, whom is giving him an aweful gaze. Volcanst can do nothing but cowardly spit out a large cloud of black smoke. He was, however, unable to concentrate it as much as he wanted to, so the fish pokémon's vision wasn't as obscured as he intended. Annoyed, Volcanst immediately spits a venomous puddle into the pool, which then contaminates the water; bad for the carvanha as all of his oxygen is now poisoned. Frustrated, Triangle Man swims to the top of the pool and launches at the dragon-esque creature a sudden blast of water. Luckily for Volcanst, the smoke, despite being so little, was able to cloud Triangle Man's vision just enough for the attack to only hit him towards his lower torso; however, it was able to hit him with enough force to knock him off the pool's railing, pushing him to the ground below. Volcanst retreats out of the aquarium as to keep away from his adversary's elemental advantage. With his target further away than his ability to aim, Triangle Man relaxes.

Okay, Triangle Man, your opponent is doing something very good. He's aiming at the tank, not you. That means if we leave that tank, then he won't try to attack you. So. Use Agility to speed up and leap out of the main tank into one of the side tanks nearby. Once you're there, use Refresh. If you still have time, attack your foe with Swift to make sure he goes out this round.

    round seventeen

His pokémon drained of just about all his energy, Chris 2.0 readies what would appear to be the final attacks for his typhlosion, "Render that damn goldfish useless. Get within distance of the main aquarium tank and fire Hyper Beams at the tank - try to shatter the tank and leave the hapless fish without water."

Smirking a smirk that would make Chris 2.0 blush, Avenger readies his own attacks, "Okay, Triangle Man, your opponent is doing something very good. He's aiming at the tank, not you. That means if we leave that tank, then he won't try to attack you. So. Use Agility to speed up and leap out of the main tank into one of the side tanks nearby. Once you're there, use Refresh. If you still have time, attack your foe with Swift to make sure he goes out this round."

Tiredly, Volcanst steps in front of the large aquarium, which is still littered with venomous poisons, and charges up for his last set of attacks. Taking a few moments, Volcanst fires out a very concentrated beam of energy which collides with the tank; meanwhile, Triangle Man does his damnest to dart deeper into the tank, and then whip upwards to the point where he flutters over the gap between the two tanks in the aquarium. As the main tank breaks down and releases the poisoned water into the aquarium, Triangle Man successfully makes his way into a cleaner, albeit smaller, tank to rest himself in. Volcanst, now very tired and wet, staggers over towards the second tank and tries using the same method again. Triangle Man sheds his poisoned skin very quickly, and then, whilst Volcanst is charging his second Hyper Beam, shoots out a barrage of sharp-edged stars. They each rip through Volcanst's firery hide, which combined with the heavy poisons, manage to knock him out. Volcanst falls upon the very wet floor and slams his eyes shut; Chris 2.0 can do nothing but recall the downed pokémon.

Tanqua, roar loudly over the taunts. I doubt you'd be detered by a tiny little pirhanna. Then fire an ice beam down into the tank and freeze the entire contents, pirhanna included. Take two actions if necessary. If not, then use seismic toss to pick up the block of ice and hurl it into the wall.

The way I see it, poison doesn't simply effect at the end of the round, but rather siphens health throughout the rounds based on how long the battler has been in play. Volcanst was using an awful lot of time by charging up two hyper beams, so the poison was able to eat just enough health for the swift volley to finish him off.

    round eighteen

Chris 2.0 pockets the poké ball belonging to his fainted typhlosion, then ponders for just a moment before tossing another of a similar shade into the aquarium, "Next, I'll use my blastoise!"

The ball slaps on the wet floor below before releasing a very large leviathan (~gogo product placement!); oddly named "Tanqua", the blastoise slams his feet on the floor below in hopes to intimidate his foe, who still swims peacefully in the small aquarium. Meanwhile, Avenger, with a wild smirk, choices his next attacks, "Okay, Triangle Man, first, start out with a Taunt. Then Toxic. Finish it up with a Focus Energy. However, should the blastoise not fall for that Taunt, use Scary Face instead of Toxic."

A tad bit frustrated, Chris 2.0 smirks evilly as he comes up with his own plan, "Tanqua, Roar loudly over the taunts. I doubt you'd be detered by a tiny little pirhanna. Then, fire an Ice Beam down into the tank to freeze the entire contents - pirhanna included. Take two actions if necessary; however, if you manage to freeze the pool quickly, then use Seismic Toss to pick up the ice block and hurl it into the wall."

Triangle Man, looking mighty odd, tries to frolick in the tiny pool in a vague attempt to taunt his foe into directly attacking; however, Tanqua's not buying it, roaring a mighty roar (or as mighty as a turtle can), sending shivers down the pirhanna's fishy spine. Tanqua then awkwardly climbs on top of the small aquarium's railing, promptly shooting a concentrated beam of ice into the water, causing it to solidify. Triangle Man, barely able to move, tries his best to scare Tanqua with a face so creepy, so frightening, that I cannot explain it without the censors being on my ass. Downright disturbed, yet pleased with himself, Tanqua struggles to lift the massive ice cube; using all of his strength, Tanqua manages to hurl it out of the aquarium; unfortunately, despite being lighter than water, ice is still pretty heavy and slams against the floor just a few feet shy of the wall. Still feeling pain as he flops around, the fish out of water then keeps himself focused, concentrating for the next round, perhaps.

Okay, Triangle Man, this will require some strategy. First, use Agility to jump off the ground and land on Blastoise, at which point you should latch on to his head (or leg, or whatever else isn't covered by shell) with a Crunch. Now, as he's trying to throw you off, Thrash around a bit and open up that wound.

    round nineteen

Feeling pretty confident, Chris 2.0 keeps his next round of attacks very simple, "Earthquake to shake things up. After that, hurl it at the wall with Seismic Toss and fire a weak Hyper Beam at it. If it gets back into the tank, shatter it with a Rapid Spin. Refresh from status effects."

"Okay, Triangle Man," TheBlueAvenger calls out, "this will require some strategy. Now, as he's trying to throw you off, Thrash around a bit and open up that wound."

Tanqua wastes no time; slamming down his right foot, the large sea turtle (argh!) manages to create a small quake within the radius of the department store. The carvanha, at one point focused, is now shaken up and his target is a bit blurry. Trying his best, Triangle Man summons his adrenaline and quickly leapts onto the blastoise's left kneecap, quickly sinking his very sharp teeth into it. Howling in pain, Tanqua wraps his hands on him; however, the carvahna is much too vigilante, and begins to thrash around in hopes to pain his adversary even more. However, with each passing second, Tanqua gets more and more angry, finally pulling the fish off his kneecap (causing him more pain as the wound opens up), and hurling him at the wall of the aquarium. Before he even hits the wall, the blastoise quickly readies a hyper beam. The force of the slam manages to cause quite a bit of pain to the fish, but the hyper beam following was no picnic either. Triangle Man, very much in pain, slides along the wall before hitting the tarnished floors below.

Okay, Triangle Man, let's keep our distance. First, use Double Team. Then use Swift to attack his left leg and aggravate things a bit. Finally, try to fire a Toxic in the same area. However, should he come near you, attack viciously with Fury Cutter. Protect against Hyper Beam as well.
