As this match continues, a Lairon appears on CEB's behalf. Unphazed, Devia merely makes he shimmering body shine out even more, as she Plots despicable Nasty things to do to Ryu. Ryu shines too, faintly, but since nothing hits his Metal Carapace-he can't release it back with a burst of surprise.

His first plan a wash, the mini-megaton animal bounds forward, Head glowing and seemingly intensifying in density. A such, it was a setback to be struck by a Pulse of Water from the front.

For Devia, that is. Because stopping an animal from rushing you with an Iron skull is pretty hard. Blasting through the Pulse, the beast connected with Devia's Keystone, sending that rock (and Devia) flying a bit.

Now knowing getting hit by that animal causes some serious pain, Devia cooks up another Pulse for the Lairon. Unassuming of what might be oncoming, Ryu dashes in again. His snout still drenched with water, he changes tactics and turns around mid run. Tail shimmering now, that heavy butt was the next part of Ryu to be drenched in water. Scoffing at the humility, Ryu tried to stand up, but ending up slipping and falling on his belly. Stupid water.

Okay, before I post my next moves, I've just realized something here.

In the last round when CEB's Lairon used Metal Burst, I was surprised he used it while going first, I mean, if he had been going second, it would have made a much bigger impact on me.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid I have to deem Metal Burst as being a rather cheap move to use in battle (using Counter or Mirror Coat isn't as cheap, because they only reflect back physical and special moves respectively, not both as in the case with Metal Burst), simply because most damaging attacks can be countered by it (I know of at least one that I don't think can be countered with Metal Burst, namely Earthquake, but I could be wrong, DarkestLight, can you shed some light on this, please?), so, CEB, could we please add this move to the list of moves neither of us will use in the battle, please? I can accept being defeated again if that happens later, but not as easily if I lost because of a move I deemed as being cheap.

Thanks CEB, I had to drop my only other battle at this time because my opponent wouldn't agree to not use Metal Burst (he said it's his key to winning battles; he has an Aggron already), that battle didn't even get a ref, but meh.

Devia, you did well last round, so let's not look back.

Start with Double Team to make a good number of clones to surround Steel Ryu, then blind him with a Flash, right in the face, finish with another Water Pulse, but this time use it in sphere form so that if it hits him, he'll get a good splashing.

Subs:

If he tries to go for a Toxic on you, Protect yourself.

If he plans on using his head on you again, look him straight in the eyes and use Hypnosis.

Ok Start off with a Rock Slide to remove all her clones and getting a shot at her, then use rock Tomb before she gets off the flash so the flash will affect her and not you. Lastly use Protect to dodge the water pulse.

Devia, aggravated slightly by this little metal monstrosity, upped her chances. In a flash, tons of Spiritombs were replicated,a ll hauntingly similar in size. Ryu though, didn't care about that, and let loose with a Rocky opposition. The slid from above, cascading down on the field. Stones rebounded everywhere, catching the whole Deviant group off guard, and dissolving the clone war.

When it was all over, only one out of the four Spiritombs remained. Dang it!!

Seeing her first plan washed away by rocks, she quickly retaliated. Ryu though, tried his counter measure at the same time. A bright flash illuminated the sky, purposely blinding anyone in the vicinity unlucky enough to be there. Ryu though reared up, and slammed back on the ground, forcing the rocks in front of him to collide and collapse on Devias, enTombing her .

Although blind, Ryu knew he still held a chance against her.

Displeased that this animal was just as crafty as her, Deiva shot a ball of Water at him, only to have it bounce off his Protective covering. Ryu took no risk this round...and feeling where his shield buffered, he was able to face her definitely, so he could attack without seeing.

Devia watched as the weird little tankish..thing waddled over to his left...and then to his right. Seeing he was still blinded, she went about her happy little daydream, Plotting up just some sick Nasty things to do to Ryu. Eyes opening, she found a swath of Mud right by her keystone. Looking back to Ryu, the ceratopsian was still trying to judge his distance right, but to no avail.

Okay, DarkestLight, before I post Devia's next moves, I've got some questions about the last round.

First, how can a Pokemon smell a Water Pulse if its sight isn't currently working? Normally, water doesn't have any scent whatsoever unless either some solid was dissolved in it, or if another liquid was mixed in with it. That part you mentioned during Devia's first Water Pulse has me a little confused.

Second, when Devia used her second Nasty Plot to make her special attack go up two more grades, how come her second Water Pulse did only 4% more damage than the last one (16% this round compared to 12% each for the ones in the round where Steel Ryu first appeared)? I'm not trying to complain about the damage, but made it look like one of two possibilities IMO, one, either the damage had a specific range (e.g. 16% to 20%), or two, it was based on if Devia's special attack had gone up three grades overall instead of four.

Edit: Okay Devia, things are going remarkably well for you, so let's get Steel Ryu closer to his downfall in this battle.

Start with another Water Pulse, then blind him more with another Flash, finish with another Water Pulse.

Subs:

If he tries Toxic, I want you to quickly use an Ominous Wind to blow it back in his face, aiming for his eyes, or his mouth, if it's still open, if at all possible.

If he goes for any move involving the use of his head, be ready to use Hypnosis.

Displeased with Devia's playing with water, Ryu went on the defensive, erecting a barrier of thick energy. Devia seemed put off by this, but fired off a larger than normal Water Pulse. The shiny Pokemon just watched as the water danced off the Protective covering, Ryu grinning to himself. Ryu began to walk away, his back to Devia...

Well, she wasn't going to take that lying down. As the shield dissipated, Devia quickly released a glint of light from her eyes. The speed at which this light dispersed was fantastic. Even greater was the Iron Tail of Justice that slammed into her Keystone. She shrieked in dismay, wondering how the heck did Ryu even manage that.

Her next glance gave her her answer. She was staring at Ryu's rear. Ryu merely hopped backwards, so the Flash didn't disorient his attack

Disgusted with this rounds turnabout, Devia forcibly pushed Ryu's rear away from her with a hefty Water Pulse. In retaliation, a swath of mud was thrown at the incoming attack, but the power behind this Water Pulse was far greater than that of his Mud Slap. Ryu rode the chilling wave, utterly displeased about have his butthole cleaned for him. It didn't stink...honest! Turning around to face Devia now, Ryu snarled. This was getting too close for comfort.

Devia, that shiny Spiritomb, seemed to mean business now. Ryu didn't care anymore though, and went for the offensive. He tried any sort of attack he could. Headbutts, charges, smashes, all he could think of. But each time, he would run into a translucent shield. One that aided him many a time. Devia laughed at his Endeavoring spirit...until she saw that he stopped.

He gave up.

As the Protect faded, Devia immediately began hexing Ryu, as the small ceratopsian clamped his jaws and began to force rocks into the air. With each movement however, Ryu felt dizzy and tired, almost impossible to move even... but Rock Slide still hit Devia.

Just because I'm not making a big attack now doesn't mean I won't later (if I get the chance), I once lost a battle in the old ASB to a guy whose name I unfortunately don't remember, but he did use Bide a lot, which IMO, is another one of the cheap moves here, CEB, could we agree to add Bide to the banned move list for this battle please?

Edit2: Now that I think about it, could we agree not to use any 1 Hit KO moves here, please? I'm not just referring to Sheer Cold, but also Horn Drill, Guillotine, and Fissure.

As Hake, a heavy looking Glalie pops up, this match seems to be awfully one-sided. Devia just kinda sits there, not worried about a thing. Even as a beam of Ice strikes her sideways. She doesn't tilt over though, to her relief.

Haku doesn't seem to care, he plans on freezing this chick.

'sigh' This battle is starting to remind me of the last one I had with Silencer (that one ended in a DQ for him, but because it wasn't one Pokemon out at a time, neither of us got very much from that match), I just hope this one ends soon, this has been a good battle so far, but even though I've thrown one curveball here, it's hard to say if I'll get to throw a second one.

Devia, still a bit chilly from that last Ice attack, unfortunately does not get a break. A harsh Blizzard begins one again, burying her under a sheet of icy slush and fury. Its cold, very cold, and Haku seems pleased with the result.

Hake floats upward, still staring at Devia. Devia however, uses her ethereal powers to create a latching beam of light. Its thin, but it strikes Haku's base like a needle through skin. Tethered, Devia then begins the Splitting process, Haku going through a new sensation of Pain through his body. It takes a while, as well as a large swath of energy on Devia's part, but in the end, Haku felt extremely weaker.

Unprepared for such a move, Haku instantly retaliates with a nasty Ice Beam. The beam breaks through the link, and strikes Devia hard, throwing up a splay of ice shards in her face. She howls in pain, and releases a spiritual fire from her mouth, trying to burn the ice away. It works, barely, but her spiritual self is free from the ice!

Before Devia knew what was happening for a third time, a new Ice Beam was created and fired at her. Her plan seemed sound, but maybe it wasn't as sound as she would have liked, as Haku laughed in glee.

Sending out a Pokemon uses an action, and so you'd only have one attack that round. It dosen't matter if you are first or second. Just know that when you switch, there's no switching back-Devia is out of the match for good :O.
