Then use Quick Attack to swim back to land as fast as possible, and try Thunder last.

Let Via escape, instead opting to hit it with a blizzard, it's hailing and he's trapped and paralyzed, so it should hit. Then knock him back into a new whirlpool, and blizzard him again. If he doesn't get out of the whirlpool (due to paralysis or his plan not working or whatever other circumstances might cause him not to escape), then replace whirlpool with another blizzard.

Lapras takes advantage of that hail to hit Via with a 100% accurate Blizzard, forcing her under the water. However, she has just enough willpower to dish out a Mimicked Whirlpool, releasing herself from the watery abyss.

Unfortunately, Lapras has other ideas, trapping her in yet another whirlpool. The poor thing is too paralyzed to move and gets pulled underneath the rough seas, struggling to get herself free.

If she wants to waste energy anyway trying to protect against Taunt then that's fine, too; use Swords Dance instead, then Taunt on the next action and Protect after that.

Then, get the pain started with Toxic, and scare him with a Roar. If he tries to get around the taunt with protect or detect, instead use Agility, and push the other moves back.

Aerodactyl starts off the round by saying things about Theo's momma, and he tries to reflect it back to Aerodactyl, but to no avail! Aerodactyl, you meanie, don't you have any manners!?

As an aside, while I don't mind having to wait four more rounds for it to wear off since chaos did earlier, for future reffings I would suggest reducing the duration of certain attacks like Taunt, Whirlpool, etc. If they drag on for too long in some situations then a Pokémon can be shut down completely; it wasn't terribly fair that Lapras could do nothing but hide until it lost, and at this point barring some serious luck with paralysis I don't fancy my chances, either. I personally only have things like that last for a period of actions, not several whole rounds; if you want it to go on longer than five or so actions you certainly can, but I think fifteen actions is a bit much for most things other than some status conditions and weather, really.

I believe you about electric types. I came in knowing that. It's ground that is resistant, and aerodactyl is rock type. And I agree on the taunt thing.

I'm not in any real hurry. I don't mind waiting if you don't. I suppose a subref would be a good idea if she's gone for a really long time, yes, but given everything else I've got going on right now my definition of long might be a little longer than yours or Kurosakura's.

Before I start the next round (since I'm feeling a little better for the moment)...

1. All Pokemon will exchange 1 HP per 1 EN needed when their EN is at 0
2. Weather effects will last 5 rounds
3. For statuses such as Taunt or Torment, the effects will last for 2-5 turns instead of 2-5 rounds.

Hopefully this'll work better. ^^;

Does this apply to Absol's current state? If so, do we get to change our attacks, considering we were acting under the impression he would be taunted for another 12 actions, as opposed to 2.

Edit: In general, since battlers plan actions in advance, I believe most refs change their rulings for all future battles. In this case, I had done that, and in addition to that, as was pointed out by PhoenixSong, I was affected by the longer duration taunt with no chance to regain EN. In sake of fairness, I'm not sure the new ruling should be in effect this battle.
