Yeah, the connection was kinda jittery the whole time. Not as bad as usual, 'specially for a guy that's 10,000 miles away. Sucks that it was cut short, though. I was just starting to adapt to the delayed commands.

I know for sure that DL and I would have really provided some top notch matches if it weren't for that lag... You seriously adjust your play style according to it. There'd be times when I'd launch a move and I'd know that it was entirely unavoidable, simply because by the time DL's counter-move registered, it would have been too late.

I actually decided to record the matches off-screen. Meant that I had to turn the brightness and contrast really low, though. lol

Comments: Immediate concern on my part; I could barely see a damn thing because of the brightness being so low. At first I thought I was at Frigate Orpheon, it was that dark. I got off to a horrible start, but settled in around the middle. It would have been closer, had DL not fallen off twice to avoid the Landmaster. I blame lag for that one.

Comments: Alright, I cry foul. According to the rules, loser chooses the next stage. I wasn't sure exactly how to go about not choosing a stage, so I just let the time limit run out instead of selecting a stage. Apparently, this random selection was what we came up with. So, for all intents and purposes, I really don't think this match was valid... I'll let Andrew decide on that one. All the same, it was a pretty exciting match. The ending is GREAT.

Comments: Again, lag led to DL taking tumbles that he wouldn't have if we were playing live. I can only take credit for two of those kills, and yes, one of them was with my beloved Flying Slam. Like the last match, I don't think DL chose this stage either... So I think this match might be void, too.

So yeah... Right now, I've claimed the series against DL, but I really think we should replay the last two matches due to stage mistakes on my part. (In future, I'll arrange the stages with the opponent beforehand)

Anyone want to see the videos? They're pretty poor quality, but if DL doesn't mind I might post them on Youtube to actually give the Youtube TPM account something to link to.

If DL and yourself want to conduct a re-do I've got no objections. Just be sure whoever starts the room has the Loser Chooses Stage rule enabled and the other person make sure to adjust it too.

Ahh crap. That's what went wrong, then. Alright, that was definitely my fault - I didn't realise there was a setting for that. I just kinda thought you had to synchronise your level choices or something. My bad, guys!

I taped it on my beloved little DV camera. It's offscreen, so the picture quality is poor and you can hear the clicking of my control stick in the background, but yep, it's recorded. lol

So it's been decided! Thankfully, the connection was incredibly smooth, so Unbraced and I were able to fight some good matches. I tell you what, I was definitely NOT the better player in any of these matches...

Drago: Pokemon Trainer

Stage: Distant Planet

Comments: I learnt in a real hurry the kind of playstyle Unbraced has; it's pretty intense! He was able to pepper me with a lot of fast attacks, while keeping me on the ropes with Snake's multitude of explosives. I fell behind early and had to mix up my playstyle between the Pogeys a fair bit. I have to be honest, I'm still not very good at swapping them in and out. Dragoon pieces began inexplicably falling from the sky, but both Unbraced and I ignored them. ...Well, we occasionally collected them, but just for fun, I suppose. Unbraced really had me schooled in this match, so I had to just stick with what I knew best to pull out the win; Ivysaur's Bullet Seed won this match, plain and simple.

UB: Kirby
Stage: Green Greens
Win: Unbraced
Comments: NO CONTEST. You'd think I'd have noticed in the first match that Unbraced doesn't waste any time... Apparently not, because I chose Yoshi, whose multitude of slow attacks were just useless against Unbraced's killer Kirby. By the end, I was down to my last life to his four... Needless to say, I didn't mount a comeback. I learnt a valuable lesson here; never underestimate the opponent!

UB: Lucario
Stage: Smashville
Win: Drago
Comments: I had to hit Unbraced fast, hard and often if I wanted to win this one. I knew this much. What I didn't realise however, was the kind of effective moves Lucario had on offer, and I got accustomed to these moves often. Holy hell that Force Palm has some crazy range!! I suffered the wrath of two Kamehamehas, and throughout the whole match I was on the ropes. You'd think that, in a level with such flat ground, I'd have been able to damage him more with Fox's laser. Unfortunately, he just kept moving so much that it wasn't to be. Plus, I didn't want to get caught in a situation like I was early on where he simply sent an Aura Sphere hurtling through them. It took a Landmaster to weaken him, and then I resorted to something I'm not proud of... Edge guarding. Seriously, it's a cheap tactic and I try not to use it... but I was outclassed here, and needed to pull out all the stops.

Thanks Unbraced for bringing the fight, and then some!!
Also, for those of you wondering... Drago vs. DL #2: Pika/Ike and #3: Bowser/Sonic. Unfortunately, I bumped the camera, so you can't see damage percentages or remaining stock. Bleh.
