Yeah, sorry guys. Illness then Christmas then moving back to Lancaster then New Year's do not make for an active Weaslor. Anywho, I'm back now, I do believe, so I'd better make up for lost time!

Pelagia, we had a pretty good round just then. Let's try and carry that on, and start with a Rock Tomb! Hopefully he'll get nice and trapped, so use a Rock Slide to pile more weight on top. Finish off with an Energy Ball, to hopefully connect and explode.

ROUND NINE
The ninth round begins after a long hiatus, with Slimepot, a slow-moving pile of acidic ooze formulating his strategy. Pel summons a series of stones that envelop the grimer easily [ -3HP Slimepot / -4PP Pelagia / -10% Spd Slimepot ]. Slimepot simply takes the blow and begins seperating himself from his gooey frame. A much slimmer, still-very intimidating Slimepot emerges from the cracks [ -3PP Slimepot / +10% Eva Slimepot ].

Perplexed by his foe's escape, Pel summons the stones from his previous attack and hurls them at the much smaller foe, managing to strike him harshly [ -5HP Slimepot / -6PP Pelagia ]. Slimepot merely slops opon the metal frame of the ship, resting his eyes for a bit [ +10HP Slimepot / Slp Slimepot ].

With his snoozing foe snoozing, Pelagia fires off an orb of grass energy that slams into Slimepot without remorse for his slumber [ -6HP Slimepot / -5PP Palagia ]. Meanwhile, the grimer begins mumbling something incoherent. The gelatinous mass shimmers a bright white before exploding! A series of acidic chunks fly forward, crashing into the torterra for massive damage [ -50HP Pelagia / -39HP Slimepot ].

With Slimepot unable to wake up, this round belongs to a very confused Pelagia!

ROUND TEN
Round ten begins with Pelagia trying to wash the Slimepot off. Mistress, Chaos' froslass, joins the readily as she hovers over to the giant 'toise. Pel lets out a snort as he watches her come his way, and readies his own special counter. As the icy ghost sinks to the floor, she readies an ice beam. But before she can launch it, Pel emits a brilliant flash of light that explodes in her eyes, throwing off her aim heavily [ -5PP Pelagia ]. The ice beam flies upward, completely missing Pel [ -6PP Mistress ].

Annoyed that her first sneak attack completely missed the plate, Mistress snipes the torterra with a quick blade of ice. The blade slices across his frame and he cries out [ -8HP Pelagia / -2PP Mistress ]. Pel lets out another snort as he pounds the ghost pokemon with his heavy hoof, sending her to straight to the ships body quite easily [ -15HP Mistress / -9PP Pelagia ].

Not happy in the slightest, Mistress decides that now's the time to end this bout before he can cause her anymore harm. Once more, she readies an ice beam and throws it forward -- this time making direct contact [ -10HP Pelagia / -6PP Mistress ]. Pel roars out and stumbles to the ground, defeated.

According to the tower of the ascended,

If you win a Gym Battle you will receive the Gym Leader's badge, a representation of your success. This will be recorded in this very tower as a permanent record. Winning a battle will earn you the regular prize of points, but also a free catch or evolution. This freebie is redeemable for only one week after your battle has ended, so you can't save them up.

According to the ASB rules:

For a DQ, the winner is defined as the person who wants the DQ, whether they are winning or losing the battle.

Unless someone can present something else, from what I can tell, I get a gym badge. There appears to be nothing in the Tower of the Ascended thread about DQ's, but I have PMd DL anyway.

You need to give him more time; personally, I don't think you should get a badge from this match. We should wait until Kirst gets back from her hiatus from this place and then keep going where we left off.

If she doesn't come back then... well, then she'll likely lose her position anyway and, thus, her gym badge would be deemed meaningless.

Thing is, she's back. She just didn't visit ASB. She's willing to accept the DQ anyway, though. And I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get the gym match, but I can't find any actual reason that I shouldn't, which worries me.

The massive tortoise is recalled and replaced by a veteran from the Overlady's repertoire: Astarte. The dark hellhound begins his battle easily by barking out unkind things to the icy ghost pokemon. However, she just snickers to herself as a protective veil keeps the barks from enetering her ears [ -3PP Astarte / -5PP Mistress ].

Annoyed that his first attack went completely unnoticed, Astarte fires off a sudden pulse of dark energy that glides along the ship. The blast tears through the ghost pokemon harshly [ -12HP Mistress / -6PP Astarte ]. Mistress retalliates by snapping her fingers, sending a weak electric shock to paralyz the houndoom [ -5PP Mistress / Astarte Par ].

Mistress, having successfully slowed down her foe, shoots off a small orb of water that slaps Astarte silly [ -9HP Astarte / -5PP Mistress ]. Astarte shakes his body like all dogs do to dry off, and fires off a chain of fire that wraps around the froslass easily [ -14HP Mistress, Brn / -7PP Astarte ].

Mistress begins the twelth round by snapping her fingers, firing off a sharp bolt of electricity. The bolt rains down upon Astarte, injuring her mildly [ -9HP Astarte / -7PP, -1HP Mistress ]. Astarte snaps back by summoning a cloud of venomous gasses to engulf the ghost pokemon for weak damage [ -2HP, Psn Mistress / -2PP Astarte ].

The ghost pokemon, feeling greatly unhappy by her status, fires off another glob of water that crashes against the hellhound [ -9HP Astarte / -5PP, -2HP Mistress ]. Astarte desperately wants to counteract, but her body is completely frozen stiff [ +5PP Astarte ].

Feeling advantageous, Mistress lofts over to the houndmon, threatening her with her crazy fist. Astarte, however, is prepared, and before Mistress can even swing, the wolf's muscles free up and the target is gone. Mistress' slap misses completely [ -4PP, -2HP Mistress ]. Before she even realizes it, Astarte attacks her from behind [ -9HP Mistress / -3PP Astarte ].

With the houndoom's actions quite delayed, Mistress has all the time in the world to recreate herself. A smaller, but still accurate, rendition of herself surfaces on the battlefield [ -15HP Mistress, -10PP, -2HP Mistress / +15HP Froslass Doll ]. The icy doll captivate's Astarte, keeping her focus. Astarte summons a violent torrent of fire that engulfs the icy doll, scraping across it several times [ -3 + -3HP Froslass Doll / -4PP Astarte ].

At ease, the ghost pokemon closes her eyes and begins recovering lost health [ Slp, +10HP, -10PP Froslass ], while Astarte can only deal damage to her protective clone. As the fires slowly fade away, Astarte fires a wobbly ball of grim energy that collides with the doll, exploding upon impact and easily destroying the clone [ -9HP Froslass Doll / -6PP Astarte ].

The snoozing froslass, meanwhile, snores loudly, but you'd never be able to tell whatsoever [ +10HP, -13PP Mistress ]. Astarte, fuming at her deceptive adversary, collides with her angrily, using her paralysis as her strength. The dark hound pokemon merely throws herself through the ghost pokemon, however, dealing no damage at all [ -5PP Astarte ].

Mistress feels a cold shiver down her spine as Astarte literally devours her dreams [ -15HP Mistress / +7HP, -8PP Astarte ]. Mistress wakes up from the shock of the attack, but easily drifts back to slumberland.

Mistress continues to snooze away her troubles [ +10HP, -5PP Mistress ] while Astarte attempts to seize another opportunity, but cannot do so due to her frozen muscles.

It takes a few moments for Astarte to pull herself together, but she does so finally by throwing her teeth into the ghost pokemon harshly [ +10HP, -5PP, -12HP Mistress / -5PP Astarte ]. Mistress finally awakens to a heavy fatigue.
