ASB Forum Decoration: Color and Banner

I like the slightly darker Purple. The really darker purple is bomb diggity too, but it makes the white stand out that much more. Blue needs to go away. I guess I'm just tired of seeing blue.

As for the CSS sheet, wouldn't you just hafta make one...and then give them out to whomever wanted to see a different color? Then they'd just edit it with the color they wanted, and boom, less work for you? In fact, since this is VB, shouldn't this color option set be already available since you're already tinkering with the colors as is VP?

Actually, no; what I did was copy the full code for one snapshot of the front of ASB, then went in and edited the CSS on the copy. These are all hosted on my own webspace, and none of the links actually work.

For the all-purple crowd:

dark purple + purple links
darker purple + purple links

I like the purple and the blue better myself, although I suppose either purple links or blue links will work... it's just that the all-purple isn't any less monotonous than the all-blue, and if there must be a change then something with a bit more variety would be preferable.

For the record, my dislike of pink has absolutely nothing to do with its perceived masculinity or femininity. I just find it an incredibly unappealing color in general, and I definitely don't think it looks good against black. Against a lighter color scheme maybe, but black? It's too jarring.

TPM used to have a styleswitcher? Damn, where was I? But I don't think it would be that hard to just give the entire forums a few stylesheets--if all people are doing is changing the current blue, maybe the link colors, and leaving the black alone, that's all of one or two quick hex code find/replaces and bam, you're done. I'd prefer that option, really, rather than this silly notion of turning TPM into a freaking rainbow. I don't go to any other boards where each forum is its own superspecial color, and being attacked with all these color changes when I come here is just... jarring and entirely unnecessary.

...but, that's a whole-board matter and not an ASB matter. Bleh. I like slightly-darker purple, preferably with the blue links but without them is tolerable.

PhoenixSong: You've kinda emphasized my point. Liking pink doesn't make you any more or any less a girl. It's a colour.

In general: While the colour schemes presented by VP aren't bad, I think Ayeun, Knight of time, VP and PhoenixSong have a point. Is it possible to make their own colour schemes? If so, wouldn't that be a better option?

The only disadvantage I can think of is that new members might not know of the fact that they can change it.

Still think straight purple and black would look better, but now I don't have to worry about it because I finally set up Stylish and I'll still be looking at the blue classic style I'm used to. :p Y'all have fun with your crazy epileptic TPM rainbow.

If anyone else who is less than thrilled with the color changes has Firefox (or Flock), I can give you the style for the Stylish addon. Hell, you could make your own changes to it, put all of TPM in pink or orange/yellow or whatever other garish eyebleed colors your heart desires and not bother anyone else with it.

Anyway, serious question. Exactly what is being done with this "ASB Banner"? Where is it supposed to go? MM's looks interesting, but... I have no idea what it's for, really.

It's the banner that's going to replace "The PokeMasters" in the top left corner of the Board for ASB.

Ah. I wasn't aware that that was possible with vB.

In that case, might I suggest a design that isn't quite so busy? It looks cool, but it might be a bit much when reduced to that size.
