Alright guys, things here seem to be going crazy with my internet connection (it is acting up more on the desktop computer, but it's faring a little better on my laptop, despite being a bit...unstable. So basically, it could go off at anytime without warning), so please don't DQ me from my lone battle right now. With the battles I'm reffing for anyone, guys, please bear with me, I'm nervous that the desktop computer may have gotten another spyware program or something similar that is hindering the internet connection on it, as this kind of problem of the internet being blocked by malicious software has happened before. I'm just hoping it doesn't have a re-occurance on the desktop, because if that happens, I could lose the internet connection on the laptop.

Hopefully, hopefully things will get under control sooner or later.

Edit: Alright, as things turned out, the desktop computer has nothing wrong with it...my guess is that in my confusion as to why the internet wasn't working on it, that I incorrectly set up the wireless router (I have to find the instructions for it). But, right now I'm using a slightly different connection than what I was originally using, so it could go off at any time, as I seem to be using my neighbour's connection...

Edit2: Okay, I got a little more information on the current situation, apparently the wireless router and modem I've been using are clashing, like they're fighting at the same time for which device will give the desktop computer internet. Originally, I thought they were working together fairly well, but now, it seems like we need a new modem. Reason is, the clashing of the two devices seems to be the reason why the alert light on the modem (red of course) is almost always on. I originally thought that our current modem was a high speed modem, but apparently, it isn't. So now we have to get a new modem that is of the high speed variety, and connect to the internet using it. Hopefully this will work out in a few weeks...I'll let you guys know when I get the internet back on the desktop.

Hi guys, just dropping you all a quick note that we got the internet connection stabilized again (finally!), as things turned out, the main problem was with our internet service provider (Aliant, since I'm a Canadian), but they were able to fix our problem from their end, so the internet is back on the desktop. On top of that, I was able to pick up this connection again, so hopefully it'll no longer be disconnecting on me at random times. I'll hopefully get back to reffing soon.

Gah, just when I thought the internet connection I got back to using was working great again, we lost it again today, so once again, I'm coming on here using the alternate connection.

But knowing that the problem is definitely Aliant again, hopefully this tme they'll fix the connection from their end (or from our end, at my house) like they did the first time this problem happened, this time, hopefully much sooner (since we didn't find the cause for a couple of weeks).

With my reffings though, I'm afraid this is going to probably cause me some more delays, but I'm sure we'll get this problem solved quicker than last time, so once again, please bear with me, guys.

Edit: Alright, thankfully the problem went away yesterday, somehow Aliant re-configured the internet connection so that it can be reached through the router, so I've got a stable connection again.
