Vitch Nyora
----------------------------------
Vitch and Arrens minor quest to hitch a ride was not working out well for them. Three carrages had gone past, and all three didn't even slow. Heck, Arren was sure one of them even sped up when they saw them.
The apprentice sighed in frustration as they continued walking backwards, thumbs still held out. He let his arm drop and turned to his 'partner'.
"Ok, this isn't working. We look completely rediculous doing this!"
"Do you have a better idea?" Vitch countered.
"Yeah, anything that doesn't make us look like the most idiotic bandits ever!" Arren turned and started stomping down the road. Vitch sighed and followed.
"Knowing our luck, they probably wont even be there, and we've gone all this way for nothing," Arren muttered.
"Well, it's better than wandering around blind!" Vitch was getting fed up with Arren's sour mood, "I'm at least trying to make this easier on us."
Arren spun around, glaring daggers at him. "Well, maybe if you tried back at the tower instead of CRYING, we may not even be in this mess!" he paused for a brief moment, "What am I saying? You can barely fight to save your life. You'd probably just be dead, and I'd be a little less annoyed!"
Vitch paused and looked down at the ground in shame. Arren was right. Vitch had done nothing before, and if he had, he'd probably have been killed in the first five minutes. But he really wanted to help, and he was going to do all he can. Still, being reminded of it hurts.
"Um, are you two ok?"
Both young men stopped and turned to see an old woman standing nearby, standing near an old cart with an old man sitting up front. Where did that come from?
"Um, we're kind of-" Vitch began, but was cut off by Arren who stepped forward.
"I need a quick way to get to Cairhein," he said, his voice showing his determination, "I've got some important business there."
The old woman blinked and glanced at their swords. "Mercenaries?" Vitch blinked at the question, while Arren shook his head.
"I'm an apprentice warder from the white tower. I'm on business for them." The old woman smiled.
"Oh, well, who am I to deny help then. My husband an I are bringing some food for the market, and we could use a strapping young man as a bodyguard. We give you a lift, and you protect us from bandits. Sound good?"
Arren nodded and headed for the cart, climbing into the back. The woman than turned back to Vitch.
"You need a lift too? You look like you've been through a lot."
Vitch glanced at Arren as he climbed in. He probably didn't care if Vitch came with him or not.
But Vitch didn't care what Arren though. Vitch had his own reason for going through with this.
"Sure, thank you," he answered, heading for the cart.
