I'll recall Rufus and order Choji to finally unleash his inner maniac with a barrage of Earth Quakes! Tara shouldn't be affected with the Magnet Rise, so this should end this fight quickly.

You recall Rufus and send Choji and Tara to work; it takes just one Earthquake and massively boosted Flame Burst to knock the rest of the Magnemites out cold. However; it isn't as easy as that, the Magnemite just de-materialise right in front of you. Poof, they're gone. Tara looks confused, and lands next to you as her magnet rise fades.

With the other Magnemites dealt with, you turn your attention back to your friend. However, when you return to the trees, it's nowhere to be found; there's just a small indent in the pine needles where you placed it originally, and there doesn't seem to be anything else around.

You return to the ferris wheel, and all is quiet. It creaks slightly as the carriages swing in the breeze, which makes Tara seem slightly nervous. You see a ticket hut, a large lever, and a trashcan.

In a fashion which would make Kronk proud, you pull the lever. The Ferris wheel creaks into motion, then comes to a stop not long afterwards; but the cart closest to the ground's door swings open. Tara bounds over to take a look, and returns with something in her mouth.
