You decide to depart for Nevshard Badlands. You head back outside into the rain, which is really coming down hard. You summon Seze and hop aboard as he shoots into the sky. Flashes of lightning streaks through the air. You feel Seze's body straining beneath you as he work to push through all the bad weather and you begin to fear what would happen if one of the lightning bolts were to strike you. However, after a few minutes of this, you eventually leave the rain behind.

As you travel, you begin to feel the air growing cooler against your wet skin. Down below, you see drifts of snow dotting the landscape. It isn't long before the whole ground is covered in a clean white blanket. Seze soon touches down in what he believes to be Nevshard Badlands, but... this can't be right, can it? You see nothing but snow as far as the eye can see.

Looking around, you see a few local Pokemon.



They're shuddering against the cold. Maractus even sneezes. They don't seem to have acclimated very well to this particular kind of weather. As a matter of fact, neither have you. You and your Pokemon are still wet from the Trolgar Mountain rain. It can't be long before you fall ill.

Despite the Pokemon's warnings, you begin marching out into the middle of the desert. At first, it doesn't seem so bad. The air gets only a little bit colder and snow begins to fall gently. However, the further you progress, the worse things get. The snow begins to whip around with greater strength and it's not long before you're up to your knees in the cold white stuff.

You scan the area for Maos Temple or Sandblast Cavern, but the snow obscures your view of the horizon. You're not sure where these landmarks might be. Eventually, you see a snow-laden Cacturne emerge from the squalls.



"Woah, are you guys really heading out there?" he asks, gesturing behind him. "You're crazy. Be safe!"

He then walks off in the direction from which you just came.

You progress further through the snow, which escalates into a full-blown blizzard. You can barely see five feet ahead of you and the snow is soon up to your waist. Hailstones pellet you and your Pokemon, doing damage. Seze uses Heat Wave to melt some of the snow in front of you, which makes walking a little easier, but you can't for the life of you see anything that might be a temple or a cavern. You could be standing ten feet away from the thing and you wouldn't even know it.

Glancing behind you, you can barely make out Coral's and Seze's shapes through the blizzard, but you have lost sight of Lloyd.

"I've been bitten," she says, her voice hollow. "But... I've been so noble. I never once strayed from Arceus's teachings... or so I thought, at least. I must have sinned without knowing... I must have somehow been wicked in Arceus's eyes..."

"That could never be possible, my love," Brother Chiro says quietly as he kneels over her.

"You must fire a Pester Ball at me," Sister Catharti says. "Chiro, it won't be long before I become one of them. I don't want to turn on you. Please."

Brother Chiro maintains a stoic face, but his wings are quivering. For a while, he simply looks at her. You begin to question whether he can do as she says. Senic moves to Brother Chiro's side and reaches for his Pester Ball Shooter, as though offering to do the deed himself, but the Noivern does not hand over his weapon. Finally, he closes his eyes, points his Pester Ball Shooter at Sister Catharti and fires a shot. The Pester Ball bursts upon contact and Sister Catharti slumps over. Brother Chiro looks at her for a moment. Finally, he plants a kiss on her cheek and stands up. He turns away from you and Senic.
