Giratina - I have a few terms of my own. I do not plan to enslave you - I wish for you to battle willingly by my side, thus I want a fair chance at winning. Allow me to summon one of my other pokemon from the other side so that I stand a chance against your awesome power.[/suckup]

Giratina responds by attacking Aikoku with a luminous beam of indigo energy. Your Braviary lets out a pained grunt.

Again, Giratina communicates to you through the pieces of crystal.

The conditions were never yours to set, Trainer.

You watch as the young Kangaskhan grows more and more pale.

    How do you proceed?

Okay then. Aikoku, use Swords Dance to begin with, then follow it up with Shadow Claw x2.

    ‡ Round 188 ‡

Aikoku begins to dance much like he did back in the musicians' room. However, without Gallade here to imitate with Mirror Move, Aikoku can't increase his physical prowess. He stops and peers at you apprehensively. The crystal hums as Giratina speaks.

Trainer, you wish to capture me and command my might, yet you ask your Braviary to use moves it cannot even learn? I am unable to fathom how you managed to journey to Platrin Plateau with such lamentable tactics.

Growling, Aikoku defends your honour as he tears into Giratina with a pair of darkness-infused swipes. The second of these attacks results in a critical hit, dealing higher levels of damage than expected.

Giratina stomps toward Aikoku and strikes with a powerful Slash. Then, he maintains the assault with a Psychic and an Aura Sphere.

Fuck, I could have sworn it could use Swords Dance. Okay then use Tailwind, and Air Slash, followed by another Shadow Claw.

    ‡ Round 189 ‡

Suddenly, a powerful wind kicks up within the Crystal Gallery. It whistles through all the ornaments as Aikoku uses it to attain flight, zooming around the room. Giratina tries to attack with a Hyper Beam, but Aikoku uses his speed to evade the attack. The misfired energy collides with any number of valuable ornaments, causing an entire section of the room to thunder with the sound of shattering crystal.

While Giratina recharges, Aikoku continues attacking with the combined efforts of both an Air Slash and Shadow Claw. Once the Renegade Pokemon is again able to attack, he makes up for the lost hits by commanding a massive meteor to slice through the air. It collides with Aikoku and throws him to the ground. He lands in a heap of crystal shards.

You look up at the young Kangaskhan. While she was originally a pale brown when you first entered the room, she is at this point almost entirely a grim shade of white.

Ouch. We're running out of time - we'll just have to try even harder. Use a combo of Shadow Claw and Brave Bird, and finish off with a Roost. If you can hear me Kengaskhan, hang in there!

    ‡ Round 190 ‡

Panicked by the grotesque appearance of the infant Kangaskhan, Aikoku regains flight and throws himself forth in a massive attack, combining the strength of an aerial tackle and a ghostly swipe. However, Giratina has stopped attacking at this point and is diverting all of its focus to Kangaskhan. Aikoku returns to the ground to Roost and watches as a halo of purple energy surrounds the floating child.

Suddenly, it's done. Like a ragdoll, Kangaskhan's limp body falls to the ground below. It lands without moving. Giratina turns to you and, though there's no tone to the voice it makes from the humming crystal, something akin to smugness lurks beneath its words.

You have failed, Trainer. With this child's life force, I depart into the dimension from whence you come. Two of my loyal vassals will ensure you do not follow.

Giratina trudges toward the crystal mirror and, before you can do anything, it passes through. With that, it's gone.

You begin to hear movement in a far corner. A couple of figures seem to be hiding among the crystal trinkets.

    How do you proceed?

    > Tend to Kangaskhan

As much as I'd like to help the other pokemon, Giratina has to be the biggest priority right now. I'll grab the baby Kengaskhan and go through the mirror in pursuit of Giratina.

    ‡ Round 191 ‡

You approach the young Kangaskhan and pick her up in your arms. Her skin is cold and white, but you detect a pulse. You and Aikoku turn toward the mirror and take a step forward.

Suddenly, one of the hiding figures barrels into you and throws you off your feet. You look up as a Zoroark with a unique colour pins you to the ground, gnashing his jaws. Glancing over, you see a Ninetales with a unique colour keeping Aikoku pinned. These appear to be Giratina's vassals.

In a panic, you remember what Gallade said earlier: how every minute spent in this world translate to an hour in the real world. If you don't hurry through the mirror, Giratina might have already leveled Platrin Plateau by the time you arrive.

    How do you proceed?

Great - now I'm being attacked by my own pokemon! I really don't have the time to battle these two, so use Agility to get us out of here and into the mirror. If it fails - use two Whirlwinds to blow them out of the way and go through the mirror regardless.

    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Platrin Plateau
A strange, mysterious temple set high in the sky. You can only enter the road to the temple by releasing the seal chanted by the ancients long ago. There are two shrines, one in Sunshine plains, and one in Grave's Yard. They are inconspicuous, the Grave's Yard shrine is a maouselum of sorts. Here, you will find exceptionally strong Pokemon in the various rooms and spaces of this ancient land set high in the sky. If you are lucky, you may stumble on a Legend or two?

    ‡ Round 192 ‡

Aikoku uses a swift Agility to zip out from under Ninetales. He hastens toward you, but Zoroark turns around and starts breathing fire all over him, pushing him back. Then, with a massive upthrust of strength, Aikoku uses a Whirlwind to launch both Ninetales and Zoroark against the far wall. With the infant Kangaskhan in your arms, you and Aikoku sprint toward the mirror and gaze at your reflections.

Suddenly, you're thrown into a dark void and emerge back in the Platrin Plateau garden. Gazing at your surroundings, you notice that, though Giratina only had a twenty second headstart into the real world, the temporal imbalance between the two dimensions means it actually had closer to twenty minutes... and it used them well. Statues have been smashes, trees have been set ablaze and one of the temple's turrets appears to have crumbled. Numerous Pokemon lie injured around the garden, but you see no sign of Giratina.

However, you do see three familiar shapes not far from you. Yami, Yurei and Gallade are among the injured. Gallade looks up at you as you draw close.

"It was looking for something but couldn't find it here," Gallade whispers feebly, "so it left to search elsewhere. We did our best to stop it, but it was too much for us to handle."

You turn around and look at the remains of the entrance to Platrin Plateau. The beautiful pearl gates you passed through when you first arrived have been decimated as though something smashed clear through them on its way out.

Finally, you realize something else: the baby Kangaskhan is no longer in your arms.

    How do you proceed?

Damn, Giratina's one angry pokemon :O Where the hell did Kengaskhan go? Did anyone see where it went? Regardless, Yami, Yurei, Gallade, rest up and gain some of your health back while Aikoku and I take a look around and ask some of the other pokemon for more information.

"Kangaskhan couldn't travel to the real world because its life force was drained," Gallade explains. "Just as Giratina needed her life force to travel here, Kangaskhan is stuck in the other dimension until its life force can be restored. There might be a way to do that, though I'm not sure how it'll happen if we can't find Giratina."

You leave Yami, Yurei and Gallade to rest while you approach some other injured Pokemon. You find a shiny Garchomp and a Blissey (one who doesn't look like she's about to break your collarbone) and ask them what happened.

"You missed it?" Blissey asks incredulously. "You fortunate soul! It was the most bizarre looking... centipede? It appeared at the gates and started thrashing about. It was running rampant around the garden and even went inside the temple."

"I was in the temple when it happened," Garchomp says. "Just outside the Crystal Gallery, actually. I took cover and heard it... and it was almost like I could hear its thoughts. It was wondering where the Griseous Orb could be. Do you know what that could be?"

"Haven't a clue. Sounds downright nutty," Blissey says. "Oh, dear, let me take a look at your wounds."

She heals Aikoku back to full health. She then roams over toward Yami, Yurei and Gallade and restores them as well.

    GREYFOX'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Shinsuke Volcano
This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

    ‡ Round 172 ‡

You, Caucus and Fenrir all take cover and wait for the other two guards to return. After a few minutes, you hear Charizard and Torkoal making their way down the tunnel. They're talking to one another animatedly when they stop sharply.

"Is Magmar taking a nap?" Torkoal asks, confused.

"And where the hell did all the workers go?" Charizard roars.

    Suddenly, Magmar begins to stir.

You ask Gallade what exactly the Griseous Orb does.

"Of course!" Gallade says, tapping himself on the forehead with his open palm. "I should have known Giratina would want to find the Griseous Orb! I'm not even sure the thing exists. According to legend, it's linked to Giratina in some way. It supposedly grants the bearer complete control over this dimension. Theoretically, if Giratina had the Griseous Orb, it would have the same control over this dimension that it had in the mirror world. No wonder it wants it so bad. I have no idea where it could be, though. No idea in the world. Judging by Giratina's frenzied search, it's not entirely sure either."

"Well," Garchomp says slowly, "whenever I need to learn something, I always go to the library!"

Yurei coughs. This is beginning to sound like a bad PSA.

Caucus and Fenrir return to their Pokeballs as you summon Falconzord. Then, you give the signal to the Dugtrios as you zoom away on the back of your Pidgeot.

"Good luck with Heatran!" Dugtrio shouts as he and his comrades begin Slashing away at the support beams. As the wood breaks, the tunnel ceiling begins to crumble first in a few small chunks and then in larger portions. Soon, water begins to spill in from above as the Dugtrios Dig away to safety.

"No!" the Fire-types shout as they get smothered by earth and water.

The wind rushes at your face and colossal amounts of water follow you as the tunnel collapses in your wake. Fortunately, thanks to Falconzord's top-notch speed, she manages to return you to main room with the crates and the trap door. The collapsed Mole Project tunnel seals itself behind you. Problem solved.

Amelia is standing there, peering up at you.

"Dude, did you just destroy the whole friggin' tunnel?" she asks, sounding majorly impressed.

I've been looking for you guys ever since. Anyway, if you want to nab Heatran, I totally know the way to do it! While I was looking around, I found this door in the ground. "Gladly!" Amelia says happily.

The Pupitar grabs one of the torches on the wall and hops down into blackness. You follow, mildly apprehensive about the whole tunnel thing after one just collapsed behind you, but you nonetheless plow forth. The ceiling isn't very high down here and the passages are rather narrow, but you make the best of it.

Amelia's torch doesn't let you see very much. Squinting through the darkness, it looks like you're passing a series of little rooms. Dozens of them.

"Okay, and we've arrived!" Amelia says brightly.

You look around the cramped, dim space. There's no sign of Heatran and no sign of a door. You're a little confused.

Let's see what exactly the Griseous Orb does, and then see if anyone has any idea where it might be.

We've arrived? Where exactly is this place? I'm getting a little suspicious, Amelia...

    ‡ Round 177 ‡

"Suspicious?" Amelia asks. "Well, to be fair, you have every reason to be."

Suddenly, taking a rock, she smashes Falconzord in the head. Your Pidgeot falls, knocked unconscious.

    "Every reason in the world."

The last thing you see is Amelia coming at you with another rock. The next thing you know, you wake up surrounded by complete and total darkness. It takes a moment before you realize what just happened. It takes another moment for you to realize you are lying on cold rock with your hands bound behind your back by rope. Extending your fingertips, you feel around your belt as best as you can.

You soon realize that your Ultra Balls and Pokeballs are gone.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 195 ‡

You, your Pokemon and Gallade head off to the library. Blissey and the shiny Garchomp join you as well just for the heck of it. The Platrin Plateau locals lead you through the temple in the direction of the library. However, before you get there, a familiar figure comes running up to you.

"It's you!" the mother Kangaskhan cries. She looks like a nervous mess. "Where have you been this whole time? I haven't slept in days! You found my daughter, right? Where is she?"

    Gallade toes the ground uncomfortably.

Let's try the library then, to see where we can look for the orb.

Of course it all makes sense *now*. But why would she've been waiting for us on the beach!? Stupid rock.

I'll explore this place quietly; it appears that I'm just bound to myself and not to anything in particular.

We found her, but it's not brilliant news :/ she's still in the other world, and not in the best shape. She can't come through the barrier until she's got her energy back, which Giratina has taken. We did all we could.

    ‡ Round 178 ‡

You hobble to your feet and blindly explore your surroundings. You quickly realize you are in one of the little rooms you passed on your way here... which, you understand now, are cells. This one doesn't seem to be very big. Three of walls seem to be made of solid earth and the fourth is comprised of several crude stone bars.

    You're a prisoner. Joy.

    ‡ Round 196 ‡
Blissey decides to stay behind to console Kangaskhan as the rest of you continue on. Soon, you arrive at the large doors to the library and step inside. Towering shelves seem to carry on for miles and miles.

"Information about things as dangerous and valuable as the Griseous Orb would be located in the Annex," Gallade explains. "However, that section is restricted. It's not supposed to be available to the public."

"Doesn't that mean we're going to have to pass the Riddle Test first?" Garchomp asks.

    Gallade nods.

Riddles? You're promptly reminded of those less-than-wonderful times spent with those lunatics in Feizhi Outpost. Hopefully they sharpened your riddle skills.

Gallade leads you to the entrance to the Library Annex. You step inside narrow a passageway with tall shelves on either side. The path is ultimately blocked by another shelf and before you is a pedestal with a message written on it.

The look on my face is one of great ire,
I’m weak to a lot but especially Fire.
I’m one of two Grass-types who can’t summon Sun,
When in sequence by name, I am number one.

    What Pokemon am I?

"I suck at riddles," Garchomp admits sheepishly.

Thank god, indeed. Because I don't want a creepy cicada rummaging through my pants -- I'll use the shard to cut the binds, and then inspect this cell a bit more.

With six crimson fingers and a head with no hair,

And a funny black shape on the front of my face.
